101  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Everyone is celebrating about the fourth halving but what is this? on: April 22, 2024, 03:31:13 AM
Ordinals messed up the network for a while and runes are messing it up too now. Miners would be really happy while the average crypto investor would be pissed and direct their anger at the halving event.
I was in a conference about a year ago when the speaker talking about ordinals mentioned that there are 3 "Bitcoins". They are the token, the Network, and the Meme (or the public perception). According to the speaker, he said that ordinals wouldn’t harm the first two, but would definitely harm the public perception of Bitcoin, and that this would become an attack vector we as Bitcoiners needed to prepare for. And what is happening is now is exactly what the speaker predicted. It is time we know who the real bitcoiners are and not those who have been latching on to take advantage of the network.
We already experienced this, when these Ordinals started to make some noise, we experienced high traffic in the Bitcoin network and that caused very high transaction fees.
Especially right now, hype of Bitcoin block halving plus this new protocol built on top of Bitcoin called RUNES, this for sure will add some high traffic to the Bitcoin network but let's monitor it first.
102  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is this madness or what? on: April 22, 2024, 03:28:19 AM
(....)

And they paid that much to make sure that it gets minted on block 840 000, that's for bragging rights!
This is next-level bragging! Well played. Since it is in the Bitcoin blockchain, and this is a new protocol that is using the Bitcoin blockchain.
What they did is amazing and expensive, there could be some PR on this new protocol.
It seems this is a competitor or Ordinals (BRC20) and I am curious if this could affect the Bitcoin network stability, like high transaction fees.
103  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: April 22, 2024, 03:19:03 AM
I bought a point down with my OKC spread (-7.5), it might not matter as much, but it's better to be safe against the best road team.

With or without Zion i'll always ride with OKC, thinking they'd be one of the toughest teams to beat at home.

https://talkimg.com/images/2024/04/22/j8p3j.png

The under is also tempting to bet on the playoffs, but after watching the Celtics game it's tough knowing the other team can start fouling or push the pace to hit the over.
Zion Williamson is a big loss for New Orlean Pelicans right now. As you can see, the New Orleans Pelicans are having a hard time inside the perimeter.
What I observe in this game is New Orleans Pelicans are attacking mostly in the outside of the perimeter and they are still able to make points and still have a good fight with OKC Thunder.
I'm OKC Thunder on this game but with your handicap, it is kinda risky.
104  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's in For Altcoins after the Halving? on: April 22, 2024, 03:13:50 AM
It has been a good ride for Bitcoin before then halving and now that it is done with, the momentum seems to have gone down, and as we all know, after the Bitcoin Rally, altcoins react to it. Do you think the rally of altcoins will start now or we should continue with our trades like nothing happened?
What I can see right now especially since Bitcoin Block Halving is already done, is most altcoins will correlate with Bitcoin, it will depend now on Bitcoin where the price will go, because as you can see, just like most of the high top market cap altcoins are just following Bitcoin.

Right now when Bitcoin dumps = altcoin dumps, Bitcoin pumps = Altcoin pumps, Bitcoin sideways = altcoin sideways.
105  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Thoughts on Worldcoin? on: April 22, 2024, 02:44:02 AM
I am not really a fan of cryptocurrency it is related to AI (Artificial Intelligence).
Because for me, AI doesn't need any cryptocurrency at all now, they must separate it and be something unique.

Worldcoin for me seems only for hype because as we all know, Open AI is famous in AI (Artificial Intelligence) right now, if they are not connected to Open AI at all, Worldcoin is nothing at all.
106  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Market seems in correction mood on: April 19, 2024, 12:27:16 AM
I'm amazed and bullish for Bitcoin right now as you can see, from an all-time high of Bitcoin which is from around $73,000 and dropped a few days ago to below $60,000.
But it is always bouncing above $60,000. I can really feel that we will still go back to an all-time high because of these bounces every time Bitcoin drops.

I can consider what happened was totally correction, it's not only on cryptocurrency market we experienced the recent dumps.
107  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Short-term holders now have about ~1.8M BTC on: April 19, 2024, 12:21:57 AM
Short-term holders are those who bought Bitcoin on average in the past 155 days or about the past 5 months,
~~~
Is it? What if some of the people who purchased Bitcoin at the same time frame are people who want to invest for the long run but that’s when they decided to enter the market? I’m not sure if there’s a way to get the short term holders because they don’t have a difference from those who buy for long term, the only difference is their will (in their mind) to not hodl for long.
If they want to hold for longer, then it is considered long-term. Right now we have no official basis for the definition of short-term and long-term holder or investment.
I also agree with you that the only difference is their will or in their mind, which is right as we have no official basis for long-term or short-term. We have different investors right now so for me, what OP shared was based on specific time frames.
108  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading Leverage on: April 19, 2024, 12:04:30 AM
In life, leverage is good as it helps to help us accomplish a goal faster. But in trading, leverage in trading is clearly a bad deal. It messes things up for both the traders and the market. So my question is why do exchanges still offer them. They keep pushing it to traders like favourite snack?
Trading itself is already risky, even without any leverage, it's already risky.
Trading with leverage is like the next level of trading where the risk is higher but the rewards are high also.
So for me, we must not blame exchanges here because at the end of the day, it will be up to us if we trade with leverage or not.
109  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have you stopped using bitcoin for small transactions completely ? on: April 18, 2024, 11:33:20 PM
Small transactions on bitcoin does not make any sense now at all. Like to make a $20 amount transaction, one has to pay about same amount, $20 in fees. This does not make any sense. Have you stopped using bitcoin for small transactions completely because of this reason ?
With the current transaction fee we are having, one can still manage to have between $3 to $7 as minimum transaction fee while you can as well discover some periods whereby you make use of amounts lower to these, it all depends on how the mempool state is as at that time, but anything below $10 as cost for transaction fee should be something we can be able to afford and pay, other networks charges more than that in this same cryptocurrency.
This is really the downside of Bitcoin, let's accept it. Especially during these times, when the market is volatile, high transaction fees in Bitcoin are normal.
But sometimes it is cheap, sometimes not. But it does not make sense to wait before the transaction fee gets cheap especially if you are really in a rush to do the transaction.
Well, using lightning network and other altcoins will solve this problem, for me, this is the best solution right now we have.
110  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Solana Shatters Records: Over 2000 TPS Achieved! on: April 18, 2024, 11:25:43 PM
I'm really glad for Solana right now. After a lot of ups and downs happened to this network, they still managed to stay and still on the top.
With their issue about down times, being offline, and related to FTX Exchange, they are doing pretty well right now. They are proving that layer-1 is still kicking even though we have a lot of layer-2 networks right now.
111  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Simple practices to improve trading (2). on: April 15, 2024, 01:29:08 AM
(...)
- Practice demo trading, although not all traders started with Demo trading because some traders actually could handle the risk of loosing.
- Be consistent, and to encourage or learn consistency, you can start a 21 days trading challenge with a fellow newbie trader, or a trading challenge for as long as you want. If you do a challenge with someone, the person can encourage you when you feel like quitting from the challenge due to failed analysis or other reasons.
Exactly. Starting to trade and the early days of trading is really tough, we must always think that's the time that is difficult in trading. Because most of the people who jus started to trade do not stay for long, some are just temporary, after how many losses trade, they tend to stop which is not good. Some are not consistent, they just trade whenever they want or depends on the market.
112  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Rethinking Memecoins: A Potential Gateway for New Investors? on: April 15, 2024, 01:23:42 AM
(...)
I've always held the belief that Memecoins could potentially harm new investors in cryptocurrencies, leading them to feel discouraged after getting burned and thinking that the entire crypto market is volatile. However, my friends are all aware of the risks and only invest small amounts, treating it more like a game that eventually leads them to explore more substantial projects.
While I'm still not a supporter of Memecoins, I'm open to hearing other opinions.
There's nothing with meme coins, some are making huge money off it.
Some also saying that sometimes you can make more money just riding on the hype together even it has already started, you can still make money from it
But what we must be careful is the risk involves here, we all know how volatile memecoins and especially the market condition right now.
113  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Solana might be next leading, after Ether & bnb. on: April 15, 2024, 01:21:20 AM
I actually think that is Solana’s place; right after BNB. I don’t think Solana is gone, and I wonder why someone thinks that. Let’s not forget that attention is divided and there are many projects people could invest their money in. That’s one of the problems with altcoins today. Every day more is created and it’s harder to focus on the really worthy ones. But Solana is doing really fine.
For me, what's only driving BNB right now on the top is because of their centralized exchange, without Binance, they are nothing.
Compared to Solana, which is more decentralized compared to BNB and has no centralized entity (after the FTX Exchange issue).
Overall for me, technology is for Solana, and second is BNB. Hype and manipulation is first for BNB  Cheesy
114  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: $25,000 to put into altcoins... on: April 15, 2024, 01:12:57 AM
All 3 altcoins listed by OP for me are very new, I'm not familiar, it's my first time to see them.
With the definitions provided by the OP, just ask for your own opinion on each of them.
I am more convinced in the layer 2 network compared the layer 3 or layer 1 because as of the moment, that's the hype now and popular.
115  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: A trader lost over $1 Million + on Binance Feature trading on: April 15, 2024, 12:46:46 AM
I can't even imagine how it must feel to go to bed having a million dollars in your account and waking up to having nothing as all of it is gone, it's lost. This is a classic example of why one shouldn't put all their eggs in one basket.
Exactly! Maybe this trader is really not a trader, he could be a gambler or something playing only and joking on 1 million dollars.
Because if you are a trader with an account size of this (just for me) this is already huge to me and seems I can't sleep with there is active trade open even there is a stop loss  Grin
116  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Looking for people to make a small cap meme coin successful on: April 15, 2024, 12:42:26 AM
Is this something legal?  Are there no manipulations related?
Because if it's really marketing or advertising just to make a cheap or low market cap meme to soar up high, then seems it could be a legit thing.
I think most memecoins right now really went in this kind of action. This is also another reason why a lot of people is really tempting to invest in such low marketcap memecoins because it is high risk, high reward.
117  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Crafting a safer strategy for growing your crypto portfolio: on: April 15, 2024, 12:38:12 AM
(.....)
Have you explored such opportunities before? Feel free to share your experiences.
Good for you OP you found this strategy that works for you.
I am amazed of these things because it's really new for me, it's something new way for token offerings, which can drive up demand for the exchange token as users buy into participate.
This kind of strategy does require careful timing also research because not all crypto involved here are good, especially the tokenomics, you must consider it also.
It's really essential to be aware of the risks, as not all launch events lead to profitable outcomes, and the price of tokens can be quite volatile.
118  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Does trading belongs to everyone? on: April 15, 2024, 12:30:33 AM
I will just go direct to your question in the OP,  trading is not for everyone because if you trade without necessary knowledge required to know the right signals to follow and how to understand the market very well, you can run into so many losses, so it is for people that have gotten comprehensive knowledge of how trading works that is expected to trade although there is no expert in trading but there are experienced people that knows how to trade. I know how many times I tried learning how to trade but every thing was just looking so scanty in my brain like I couldn't comprehend anything so I stopped developing interest for trading.
But whether it's suitable for everyone is a different question.
There are a lot of things to consider before we can say it is for everyone.
For example, risk tolerance, technical knowledge, financial, stability, and many more.
These are just examples of things that we must consider before we can say trading belongs to everyone. Potential traders should consider their personal circumstances and the potential risks before getting involved.
119  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading is not a lifetime job. on: April 15, 2024, 12:26:35 AM
I'm sure not all traders will agree with me but some could possibly be on my side...
Here are the reasons why;
 1. It is quite stressful - old traders will soon give up due to mental health problems
 2. It is not enjoyable anymore - nobody will stay long in a job that they no longer find themselves comfortable with especially if you are not earning well.
      Most of the time we feel this during bear season.
 3. Trust issue due to Scam growth - traders never find it safe to use exchanges, even big exchanges.
There will be always a risk. We still can't say it is official that we can do it for a living. Because not all trading for a living is not profitable some lead to bankruptcy.
Since I know someone personally who really does trading for a living, I can say that it is possible to do it as a lifetime job especially if you are really careful handling your profits or losses.
120  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Can Bitcoin reach 100k USD in 2024? on: April 15, 2024, 12:15:41 AM
Bitcoin is very bullish currently.
Not long ago, Bitcoin reached a new all time high proving its sceptics false.
Do you expect it is possible in 2024 for Bitcoin to reach 100k USD?
Not impossible.
We're 60% already on it and there's got to be a slow moving until we reach $70k back and $80k. The year is still long and we're still on the 2nd quarter so there's more to this year as this is the halving year. If it won't be reached by this year and put that hope on 2025 as what many are saying that it's likely the time that we're going to see that the market will peak on this particular bull run.
You nailed it. Just think about how we were able to reach the current price of $60,000 from $20,000 a few years ago.
So, since we are in a bull market, I am really hoping forward the price action is really different already now, we can go parabolic run up to $100,000 just like a common thing in a bull market.
Just look how fast from $60,000 up to $70,000 when we created new all-time high earlier, and that's already $30,000 more for $100,000.
