981  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin maximum price on: July 10, 2023, 12:05:41 AM
I wonder why a person goes to a forum to create an account, and only makes a single post to ask a question about the price of bitcoin and then that person disappears, what is the purpose of that?
(....)
Probably a real newbie account.

This year for me on Bitcoin is crucial for Bitcoin because block halving event is coming on next year, for me, the limit for me of this year the all-time high we had which is around $60,000+
I believe Bitcoin block halving got a good effect on Bitcoin in terms of price, we already see this for the past block halving.

Breaching $60,000 for me is already good because that is also psychological resistance which that is our recent all-time high price.
982  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Minimizing Risks in Crypto Trading: Essential Tips and Strategies on: July 10, 2023, 12:00:45 AM
5. Implement Risk Management Techniques:

Use stop-loss orders to automatically sell your assets if their value drops below a certain threshold, limiting potential losses.
Consider setting take-profit orders to secure profits when your investments reach predetermined targets.
Avoid investing more than you can afford to lose and never borrow money for tradin
For me, among the list, this is one of the most important things to have because I experienced this when I was just starting to trade before, I was a newbie and my mistakes I didn't learn some basics about trading, I just thought before, "buy low, sell high" and I lost much before.
I didn't use any risk management before, no stop loss or plan for a price target.

Having good risk management will help you to become successful trader because it will help you to protect your capital and the more capital you have the longer you will stay in market, you will have a lot of chance to enter in a good trade.
983  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can gambling and crypto trading be considered as skills with $10k gain a month? on: July 09, 2023, 11:56:15 PM
It's impossible you can guarantee a consistent $10,000 gain every month, I know a lot of traders and gamblers that this is now pure consistent.
But if we just talk about skill, I agree that trading could be a considered skill but gambling? I don't think so because gambling most of the time are game of chances or lucks especially if you are playing with that kind of gambling.
984  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin: A safe haven in times of economic recession? on: July 09, 2023, 11:45:16 PM
(...)
The original purpose of bitcoin was created with limited supply to fight crisis and inflation. But so far, it is being used as a highly volatile and speculative asset, so it is not yet a safe haven.
You have a point here, but for sure people are making conclusions or just speculating because recently Bitcoin is making huge pumps and they find it more profitable which they don't consider the volatility.
Let's say they compare the Year-to-date (YTD) gains of non-cryptocurrency assets to Bitcoin, and they find Bitcoin is better. Which for me, it's not a valid comparison.
985  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What term to use? Halving or Halvening? Term history on: July 09, 2023, 11:38:33 PM
In proper English it should be halving. Words like halvening or hodling are just fun jokes that became a part of the bitcoin lore, if we can call it that.
There's so many investment meme words, like stonks, or corn (bitcorn), shitcoin, nocoiner and so on. They all have their uses, and it's up to you when and how you will use them.
For example, this fun lingo will work here or when you're having a beer with friends, but when summoned to court or a congressional hearing, you won't say: noobs dumped all their cornz before the halvening, but I'm an OG hodler, I'm stacking. Tongue
Make sense, halving for me is the one that is widely used since Bitcoin started. It's the term what the majority of people use and for me, it is the official word we must use so some people will don't have any confusion even though they are almost the same meaning.
It's already stated in the first OP, where "halving" is used earlier that "halvening".
986  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hodling Bitcoin on: July 09, 2023, 11:31:31 PM
(....)

Holding Bitcoin is a choice however for those that have Bitcoin holdings how do you manage to minimize Bitcoin transactions to increase your hodlings.

Though hodling Bitcoins can be tempting to transact with sometimes
For me, setting goals will help you how to increase your holdings. So, let's say if you intend to hold some Bitcoins for the long term, what you can do is motivate your self. Set some price level where you will buy Bitcoin and to avoid using your Bitcoin, store your Bitcoin somewhere where you can't easily use it, for example, hardware wallet.

AVOID it to store on exchanges because for sure, it's tempting to use especially when you are trading.
987  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who is actually a Bitcoin investor on: July 09, 2023, 11:26:44 PM
When someone has a particular wallet which he spends Bitcoins from can he be considered a Bitcoin investor?
Or does the term investor refer only to those who hodl Bitcoin?
For me, it depends on your goal. If your goal is to buy cheap Bitcoins and in the future, you wanna sell them for profit. If you only use Bitcoin in your daily life, without losing or gaining any value, I don't think you are being investor, so hodling Bitcoin could be also referred to as investing.
988  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why are altcoins important? on: July 09, 2023, 04:01:21 PM
Scam, death both have in altcoins market so why you want investing altcoins?
For me, on the money or greed part, ROI. Because most altcoins are a high chance to get easy money, but they are extremely risky. High risk, high reward.
But if you take a look, altcoins are helping Bitcoin on some of cases like Bitcoin don't have any smart contract and Ethereum & other projects have it and Bitcoin is just making his job which is for payment use.
989  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trade with caution on: July 09, 2023, 03:57:27 PM
As newbie I'm of a suggestion that it's good to advocate time to learn bitcoin and its chart of market before investing in any part of cryptocurrency investment and bitcoin, as a new investors that want to make profit and don't want to experience losses in investment, we should know the values of coins either altcoins and otherwise before investing
(....)
Indeed, trading cryptocurrencies are far different compared to trading other assets, especially non-cryptocurrency.
Even in other assets, risks involves also and it has different risk pressure.
When it comes to trading cryptocurrency, most people who complain about volatility, so you must be ready for this.

For OP, about knowing the values of coins or altcoins before investing, I think you are talking about fundamental analysis here not so technical like looking at charts, identifying chart patterns, etc. And this is more investment, not trading. But it is somehow trading because in the future you will also make profits on that by selling it on higher price.
990  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Things that influence our trading decisions on: July 09, 2023, 03:47:58 PM
* Emotions in trading
This is very common and I can give my own example and own experience for this:

For example, you entered a trade and before you entered a trade you already have the plan for an entry price, stop loss price, and exit price.
The position is already open and you are already in profit suddenly you saw some news or post on social media which causes a price drop, and then you panic and feel to close your trade immediately even if the stop loss price is not yet met.

See? Your emotion ruined your trade position even you already plan everything before you open a trade.
991  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will bitcoin experience a more price increase during the halving? on: July 09, 2023, 03:04:29 PM
And if the institution has entered, the pump should have happened, especially when it coincided with
halving in 2024. Right?
(....)
I'm more positive about the event of Bitcoin having a block halving next year because, for the past years and past Bitcoin block halving, it became an indicator over time for every Bitcoin bull market.
Every before Bitcoin block halving happens, we can see the price of Bitcoin is starting to climb. Which for me, I agree that next year is the market will favor to Bitcoin.
992  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are successful gamblers seen as addicts? on: July 09, 2023, 02:55:32 PM
I don't think others referred to successful gamblers as addicts. Most likely, they are referred as lucky gamblers and most of them are professional gamblers that play poker, for example, those in tournaments. Meanwhile, if you are a loser but still keep on playing, prioritize gambling over important matters. They are called a gambling addict.
So, it seems what you want to mean is if you lose gambles, you are a gambling addict. I don't think so.
Because for me, what being a gambling addict is you can't control it. So, if we say, most of our gambling is winnings and we can't control it, we can't control winning and gambling every time, I can tell it's still an addiction.
For example, you cant control your gambling urges or irritable when you are not gambling, I can say it's addiction.
993  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: July 09, 2023, 02:40:21 PM
The appropriate punishment would be to ban Pure from joining any official tournament in the future, this is his 2nd time doing something stupid in an official tournament
That ban is what could potentially happen after the major pushing BetBoom out of the last TI invite and it's why nothing is guaranteed for now until we see Valve officially announce the invited teams. Hopefully, they get the final invite because i'd rather see them over Execration as they're the more competitive team.
I think Betboom can still manage to go on TI even without direct invite because they are the only strong team available on EEU since 9panda and Team Spirit already secured their spot. Their problem is when Pure get banned since it's very hard to make an adjustment if Pos1 is the one being replaced.
(....)
Without Pure on their roster, it's not good. We already saw the effect when RESOLUTION became a standin' player in the Bali Major, they lost the series. The chemistry on the team is nothing if they are not complete, that's how they play, they already build relationship to each other while playing, and they already know each other.
994  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My personal savings now I will invest in Bitcoin on: July 09, 2023, 02:36:58 PM
As you say, you've been with bitcoin for a while, meaning you already know about the benefits and risks of investing in bitcoin. I think you can decide for yourself instead of relying on our advice because no one will understand what you're going through better than yourself.
(....)
I agree with this, it must always be a good thing that every one of us will know the risk of Bitcoin if you are putting your money on it.
Because no one will guarantee a win for Bitcoin, no one knows the future.

I also advice to OP that if you are investing your personal savings in Bitcoin, make sure to have extra fiat money somewhere else. And always your personal savings on Bitcoin will be easy to access and safe, like storing it to your personal Bitcoin wallet.
995  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Game Winner Result Changed After 24 hours (Defaulted) on: July 06, 2023, 06:30:49 AM
I am curious about what will happen to the users who already withdraw some funds from their accounts.
Or the user's balance is not already enough to pay back the winnings of the defaulted game?

I saw on some gambling sites that this 1 user shared a screenshot of his gambling platform balance, it's already negative because I think he already withdrawn all of his winnings before they defaulted the game.
996  Economy / Gambling discussion / Game Winner Result Changed After 24 hours (Defaulted) on: July 06, 2023, 06:20:21 AM
This is from eSport Dota 2 game that happened 24 hours ago.

Quote
Though no official reason was given, BetBoom’s Ivan “Pure” Moskalenko was found out to be alt-tabbing during a paused game, pulling up another stream — reportedly Aleksandr “Nix” Levin’s, who was broadcasting the Bali Major.
- Read more here

BetBoom Vs Tundra = Winner yesterday is Betboom
After 24 hours, they defaulted to a loss for Betboom.

I think the reason is one of the players of BetBoom was caught cheating, but the game already settled in most gambling platforms.

My question here is, what will happen to gambling platforms who already settled the bets?
Should they revert back to the winnings and losses of their users? What will happen to the losers and winners of that game to the bet?

I can see there are some platforms that already deducted the winning of some person from their balance.

997  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do I become a successful Bitcoin investor as a newbies? on: July 06, 2023, 01:21:39 AM

Understand what you are investing on

As you would for any investment, understand exactly what you’re investing on by having enough knowledge about how it works.
Among the rest, this is very remarkable to me. Because most newbies that starting to invest in cryptocurrency or in Bitcoin don't have any idea how Bitcoin works, they only know "easy money". They don't consider the risk.
But we can't blame them because maybe that is what they saw on the internet and they just click and go without doing any research, it's a bad move. New people must need proper education before starting.
998  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will fall or rise? $30400 the recent price on: July 04, 2023, 08:20:04 AM
There are some people who are still waiting for $25,000 before $35,000 which includes me. Cheesy
What happening on Bitcoin now is fighting for resistance, it's a good start to the month of July. But on the other hand, with the pump recently and fewer price corrections, Bitcoin is becoming oversold now at the current level which is $31,000.
For me now, if ever we will fall again below $30,000 this month, I am really expecting to see the $25,000 first before $35,000.
999  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to use the Bear Flag pattern and what to look for? on: July 04, 2023, 08:12:11 AM
A quick tip using this bear flag pattern is before you enter the trade, you must also consider the other timeframe because sometimes, it is bullish or bearish (it's not aligned on your current timeframe)
By doing this, you can decide a better entry, stop loss and take profit price.

In my opinion, there must be many factors that have caused the increase in the price of btc, one of which could be because there will soon be a BTC HALVING, so many people start buying btc.oo.
I am more convinced by this factor than this ETF news although I am not against it because even without ETF, I am very positive that during this time or this year, we will start to experience a bullish move from Bitcoin because of the Bitcoin block halving.
We already saw what happened in the past bitcoin block halvings, months before the event, we started to see Bitcoin is starting to go up.
