101  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are you still holding when market price falls abnormally? on: August 21, 2018, 02:36:01 PM
Only weak hands sell as soon as it falls. With that being said, everyone should set their limits or make their mind up about what they can afford to lose and when to either get out or buy any more. It's the panic that often leads people to make rash decisions so it's better to stick to your guns and original plan to avoid this.
102  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: how are you increasing your BTC portfolio? on: August 21, 2018, 02:34:02 PM
Um... by buying more. I put a little aside every month just to invest. I find it the best way. You can of course try earn bitcoin from this forum as well from the obvious places (campaigns etc), but offering various services here are a good way to gain some extra income also.

104  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it better to have many altcoins or it is enough to have few? on: August 19, 2018, 07:56:33 AM
I know that there are many kinds of alternative coins existing today, but is it better to have that many coins instead of having just a few? What are the benefits and harm in having that many alternative coins?

It's always good to diversify your assets and never put all you eggs in one basket as they say, but holding lots of worthless shitcoins probably isn't going to get you much gains as holding a few strong/popular coins like bitcoin and ethereum and so on. With that being said, you could always get lucky and see some huge gains in one coin that nobody expected and this does happen from time to time. Ripple is a coin that doesn't seem to have had much going for it but those who invested early got very rich from it and the founders are even now billionaires. That's right, billionaires:

https://www.forbes.com/sites/laurashin/2018/01/02/meet-the-crypto-billionaires-getting-rich-from-ripples-xrp/#30ed5d303289

Everybody is always looking for that next big thing but it's potluck whether you actually find it and people usually don't, but that's the crypto world for you.
105  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you still believe in ETH ? on: August 19, 2018, 07:49:53 AM
Recently ETH dropped below $300 , what do you think the future holds ?

Do you think it will still go below that?

Price falling doesn't mean much in the crypto world. It's mostly just due to fickleness by those who are weak hands a panic as soon as it drops a little and it obviously has a knock on effect. Eth is pretty much the only coin I have any faith in other than bitcoin as it has its uses. The drop doesn't worry me though and I'm holding long term and I'm sure it will bounce back soon enough and I even think it will eventually get back to it's all time high of $1000+. It might even be a good time to buy now, but I'm fine with my current holdings to invest any more.

Do you know why eth is down below $ 300? I'm keeping eth and BCH. But eth has gone too fast. I worry when it can reach $ 100

Supply and demand. That's just how currencies work and when people panic the price can spiral down very fast. They can go up just as quick though.
106  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Adoption or Regulations why way is better for bitcoin ? on: August 19, 2018, 07:45:15 AM
Now, most of the people can’t buy crypto coins because of no regulation. So, if the regulation of the bitcoin is increased then it will be good for future.

I don't think this is true. People have been buying bitcoins for as long as they have been created with or with any regulations. Even years ago before they became mainstream you could us many exchanges which required little to no verification. there are still some that don't require full KYC and so on. That's obviously now mostly changed but it's just one more step in the right direction that bitcoin is taking into the mainstream and regulation in a natural process to adoption. We can only hope that it's not just too heavily regulated which could be disruptive but I don't think that will be the case.
107  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When do you know its time to sell your altcoins? on: August 19, 2018, 07:34:18 AM
There's no correct way to answer that as it depends on everyone's personal preference. Some people know when to cut their loses and some have balls and the determination to keep holding in the hope that they will once rise again. I personally only have a few coins (Bitcoin, BitcoinCash and Ethereum that I'm a long term holder of. The rest I don't have much faith in and hold very little of them but it's money I can afford to lose so I'm just holding them as a gamble that in a few years they might have gained some ground. If not then I haven't lost much and it was a failed speculation but it's what I can afford to lose.
108  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin 'real money' to you? on: February 15, 2016, 05:17:04 PM
No it is not, because I can't buy anything with it in the local market to buy things.. Its not cash in hand... We can use it just for online transactions, that too many sites are not accepting btc till now. ..
you can't buy anything with bitcoin ? lol you lie. you never see google ?
you should look this, you can buy anything in the store. list store who accept bitcoin, any 75k merchants who accept bitcoin
https://www.shopify.com/blog/10480345-75-places-to-spend-your-bitcoins

If you read what he says he said there are not too many sites accepting it and that's true. The shopify site you linked to just lists a load of crap basically and I pretty much never heard of most of them and that's the big problem. At the moment bitcoin is just a niche thing. Sure you can spend it at a handful of sites and a load of crappy ones but none of the sites or shops I want to spend it at currently accept bitcoin and that's not very good for those who want to use it as a proper currency.
109  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who is satoshi POLL on: January 18, 2016, 06:58:37 PM
It's probably neither of them. Personally I don't really care nor do I think it'd be a good idea for his identity to be known. Likely only really bad things can come of it as he will be scrutinized and attacked by the media. If he wants to be known at some point he shall surely reveal himself but if he doesn't then I hope he remains anon and isn't exposed against his will.
110  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Everyone looses in the long run on: January 05, 2016, 10:03:43 AM
Well you could say "Everyone looses in the long run" about life... but not everyone does lose in the long run with gambling. Most do but I've known gamblers who make a living gambling and are very much in profit and I've also known people who have lost thousands and will never recoup their loses. I also know many people who just gamble a little just for fun every now and again and spend no more money than they would on a night out and those people just see it as entertainment just like going to a club or the movies. You lose money at those places when you go to but never win any  Grin.
111  Economy / Speculation / Re: Supply & Demand Price Contradictions: Bitcoin / Gold / Silver on: December 08, 2015, 12:07:08 PM
Physical Gold & Silver are flying off the shelves as fast as they get coined.  "Supply" is getting very tight.  And yet price is dropping like a rock and mainstream media predicts it to fall off the cliff.  This price action goes totally against traditional economic laws of Supply / Demand.

Bitcoin is in a way the opposite..... new Bitcoins being mined every day.  Mainstream media says nobody wants bitcoin.  Big Financials & Banks say it is dead.  Nobody wants Bitcoin it seems.  So the Supply should be huge.   And yet the price is steadily climbing.

One scenario that makes sense of these two seemingly opposite contradictions is that a global crash is coming and people in the know / insiders are speeding up their positioning.

Mainstream Media and Big Financials obviously have no idea what they're talking about and if the price continues to rise then it is only down to supply and demand. I would disregard what anyone else thinks and continue to promote btc and it should eventually grow much bigger both in demand and price than what it is now. The halvening that is coming up next should be an interesting time for sure and that will really test the demand of bitcoin and hopefully increase the price at the same time.
112  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Silk Road Founder Ross Ulbricht Sentenced to Life in Prison on: November 24, 2015, 11:12:09 AM
Ross can appeal based on the Federal agents breaking the law.
Any recent updates on that?

I haven't seen any updates on his case at all and I'm sure they're busy trying to make a case to appeal but the USG will probably just argue it had nothing to do with his arrest. Can't see him getting off on this technicality though.

On a related note what has happened with Blake Benthall? Haven't heard anything about his trail for ages.

he got engaged to be married. i'm not joking
https://www.deepdotweb.com/2015/04/14/congrats-blake-benthall-aka-defcon-got-engaged/

Consider asking his fiance "stephie"-> https://stephie-mckay.squarespace.com/contact/

Seems pointless as he's probably going to be spending a good chunk of his life behind bars though I'm sure he flipped over and ratted out some others for a lesser sentence. I seem to recall his number two getting nabbed some time back after his arrest and I wonder what part he had to play in that.
113  Other / Off-topic / Re: Are you buying bitcoins? Why? on: November 10, 2015, 10:34:01 AM
Nah. Doubt I'll buy more bitcoins now and would prefer to just earn them. If bitcoin became truly a worldwide currency I would probably buy them instead of fiat when I go on holiday etc. Hope it happens someday.
114  Other / Off-topic / Re: Jay Z or Eminem? on: October 13, 2015, 02:20:09 PM
Eminem is far superior in ever way. Don't think Jay Z has ever had a classic album. Blueprint 2 and Black album are his best but don't compare to Marshal Mathers LP.
115  Other / Off-topic / Re: TV Series Recommendations... on: September 29, 2015, 10:38:25 AM
Mr Robot

I watched all episodes in 1.5 days.  But only pilot was really good.
But still it worths to watch.

You continued to watch them all even though you thought only the pilot was good? If a pilot of the first few episodes don't grab me I just ditch the show. No time to waste. I have only seen the first two episodes but thought they were pretty good and will watch thenm again plus more when I get chance.
116  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: why Bitcoin rate is flexible on: September 15, 2015, 10:27:02 AM
Why do stocks shares oil gold fluctuate? Supply and demand. People are constantly trading them and the price follows the demand and supply.
117  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We need more companies with original names. No more Bit-, -coin, or -pay. on: August 27, 2015, 07:55:48 AM
Yes, it's great that we can tell just by looking at your domain that you use bitcoin but we've gotten to the point where people will have some awful name and just add bit or coin to it somewhere and think it's the best thing ever. We're beyond that point now. Off the top of my head, I can think of Kraken. They chose a memorable name, that doesn't involve any part of the word bitcoin. No, they didn't go bankrupt because of it. Add some originality, people.

But at the same time it's good for branding. I also don't think names like Kraken are very good. They don't really tell you anything about the company. I agree that businesses shouldn't just be trying to put 'bit' in there because they feel like they have to but there's also nothing wrong with bitpay and bitbargain etc and it's good for adoption when people know what they probably do.
118  Other / Off-topic / Re: DO YOU HAVE 1 BITCOIN? on: August 18, 2015, 10:32:54 AM
yes now I have 1BTC, the results of the signature campaign and gambling. long enough to collect it about 2-3 months  Grin
I already exchange with money and I save in ATM.

You sold the bitcoin for cash? If you did then you don't have one bitcoin any more  Cheesy. If I only had 1 btc I'd rather just keep it as an investment. Will be worth a lot more someday probably.
119  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Satoshi Nakamoto become the next Vincent van Gogh? on: August 18, 2015, 10:31:25 AM
The saddest thing is, we dont have any idea who satoshi nakamoto is. We couldnt give an appreciation for his working and efforts to develop bitcoin directly as long as his true identity isnt be revealed. But, if he really chose his way to hide, he still be a hero, which he has been 'robin hood' for our life  Smiley

Why is it sad? We can still appreciate "Satoshi". If people knew who he was they would likely just attack him. Satoshi knows who he is and can be proud of his achievement and how people are using it around the world and ihe wanted the plaudits he would reveal himself but either doesn't want that or cant (if he's dead).
120  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Threats to bitcoin on: August 04, 2015, 10:52:10 AM
I think the biggest threat is the need to make the block size larger. It's not really a problem at the minute but it will be in the future, but I hope its sorted long before then.
