Nice job And don't forget, the next stop is the Legendary rank If you're lucky enough, you'll have your lucky number just near to the minimum activity requirement Make sure you'll have the necessary merits by that time too Keep up the good work and it won't be a problem

... If I am not wrong I will become Hero on the first post (the first post triggers activity update) after UNIX time 1571790000 or 10/23/2019 0:20:00.
I think you will be a Hero on 9th October 2019. You need 102 activity points to become a Hero. This means (102/14) 7,3 activity periods, so you need 8 activity periods. The next activity period starts on 2nd July 2019 (next Tuesday), the 8th activity period starts on 9th October 2019. But I can also be wrong

Merit is poorly named. Should just be renamed "likes" ...
Sometimes people use merit like "likes" but the original idea is different. You can "like" a post if it's funny, or if you agree with the content of the post. But merit is for a post that contains something excellent stuff, it can be technical stuff, explanation about a difficult thing, etc... However, like is used for facebook and the forum is really different from facebook (and I don't know if like is copyrighted by facebook or not, but it's possible, I just don't have the time to google for it)

This is the reason I would support to change the user's rank to 'Banned' instead of the Newbie, Sr. member etc. ranks, if the user has been already banned...
Fully agree with you. I don't know if a banned tag or maybe something else, but for sure one should easily see if the member is banned or not. I think this is not a secret and should be easy to verify and today even when using BPIP.org is not easy to check banned users. Thanks for that It has been proposed and mentioned several times but it seems that Theymos just don't want to implement this kind of feature in the near future (or ever)...

Usually the copy pasted articles (without reference) are reported and the copypaster is usually banned. Plagiarism is not allowed in any form. If someone wants to post a complete article here on the forum (because of usefullness or anything) it's possible with proper link to the source and it's allowed in the Press section (if that still works).

... This is a waste of time to report banned members posts, so check this: Banned users thread first if you need to know who is banned actually. ...
This is the reason I would support to change the user's rank to ' Banned' instead of the Newbie, Sr. member etc. ranks, if the user has been already banned. I know the whole forum would look horrible, because of the amount of the banned users, but it would be useful for those who are searching for proper information on the forum, they could quickly exlude the unnecessary posts from a topic

Just imagine, this is an old school forum, people need to get used to it before they can start to shitpost a lot... If the UI would allow to post as simple as FB or other social media sites, there would not be possible to hire enough mods to stop the spam...

The only problem that I see with a dedicated LN board is that most threads on the topic end up becoming derailed and the threads become locked.
Doesn't mean we shouldn't try, though. LN topics can get locked in all the places they currently get posted, but they can still provide some useful information before they get derailed by trolls. If we allow disruptive behaviour to hamper our ambitions, the trolls have been successful in their goal. Don't let them win. The Lightning Network topic should be somewhere in an universal place because it does not only support bitcoin but several alts too, so a child board under bitcoin development would not cover all the features (or will get off topic several times when it comes to the alts...) Anywhere it goes, I'll have a close look on it

If there was no copy-paste - no one would block your account. May be you forgot to provide a link to the source? OP has already promised not to copy-paste in the future anymore So this means he knows that he has done it in the past As I saw in Meta nowdays, changing the ban to singnature ban is not automatic, it's need to be proved that the user was an asset for the forum and it's not easy...

AFAIK, permaban is for plagiarism, spam boosting, and ban evasion. Begging spam deserves a temporary ban, usually 7 days for first offenders. What happens if he/she gots a temporary ban, or even a permanent ban? Nothing special... If he/she don't need that username, he/she just registers a new one and will continue the spam/begging... What we need is reporting, if people report these kind of posts and mods will delete them, spammers/beggers will just slowly stop and go away... hopefully...

.... Sumarizing: you are wrong, no alt account, nor was too lazy, just copy pasted info generated directly by team.
Thanks for the info, I was in a hurry (as always ) so I didn't checked the post history, I was just sharing my thoughts... Although I'm sure that there are similar patterns in the posts of the users who do similar job here, like bounty managers, ICO promoters, etc... but that's not plagiarism to use the same patterns for the same activity or communication task

... And what about mixing both your ideas? A user can register and mainly read different threads to get started before shitposting, and after some days/weeks start posting. But when doing this, he is most likely logged in.
In the event of one (or many) brand new account that do not post anything and are not logged in in X days, that ban you are talking about could be feasible
I like this idea, if someone wants to read, there's no need to register. If he/she wants to post/ask something, he/she needs to register, but in this case a post will follow the registration pretty soon. What happens if the brand new account (without any post) is banned because of inactivity after a while (e.g. 2 weeks)? Nothing special, the user won't lose anything but the username itself because it's banned and not deleted. We could delete the inactive brand new accounts (without any post), in order to help users to register the username again if they were deleted because of inactivity but they really want to post with the choosen username in the future, this could be a second chance for those who are not account farmers...

.... What to me seems clear in the case being appealed here, is that the copy/paste does is not of a directly lucrative nature in the traditional sense (i.e. paid per post shortcut), was not looking for merits nor incrementing post count in a banal manner. Rather more, it seems like two people responsible for the communication of LoyalCoin communicated exactly the same content two days apart on two different threads.
Or, they are alts of each other, you'll never find out, if it's not stated expressly... Or, they are not alts but using the same "vocabulary" for the same tasks of different ICOs... If you do the communication for an ICO campaign, and you finish it, and start another one, you can use the same templates in the communication, which is not a real plagiarism but just lazyness effectiveness...

Prepend and append your messages with: Thank you sir Obviously. Don't use Sir unless it's really needed... I know it's sarcasm in the above quoted post, but newbies won't understand it It's common here on the forum that scammers, spammers and low quality posters are using Sir to help themselves to flee bans or any other type of negative things, or use it when asking for help, to stress their post in a way that would help them get replies or effective help/forgiveness... So TLDR don't use Sir if possible

I'm also interested, to have a separated place where I can search for information about the Lightning Network. The challange will be to keep it free from spam and shitposts so good luck BitCryptex I will also report if needed of course

April fools are gone now and were cool to had something under the username, any info about those badges?
Based on what we saw in April Fool, I have a feeling that we even don't need badges for reporters. Simply put the titles for each level of reporters are cool enough. For example: Poor reporter Good reporter Intermediate reporter Advanced reporter Colors:Red: Poor or spam reports most of the time to try get badge/ title; whilst Green: Basically usually have good reports. Cutoffs for each level should be discussed more. Example: Good: 500 good reports Intermediate: 2000 good reports Advanced: 5000 good reports I would prefer a badge instead of text titles... It's cooler to have a badge (only my opinion), and it saves space for possible other badges in the future So I would go for the original idea, to have a badge

Sziasztok!

Thanks for all the feedback guys, now I understand that I can run a node if I want (on the Raspberry PI) but it's just too weak for mining. The DIY hardware wallet for the PI is interesting, I'll do a quick google search for it, if there's a solution already for that

says this message "You have been permanently banned by a forum moderator, probably due to plagiarism" I never plagiarized anything, I want answers You will definitely get your answer if you ask for it this way, don't worry, you just have to wait a bit (or longer), but don't lose the hope to get an answer. Until you have your answer you can still use the forum to read and to learn a lot about bitcoin, so don't worry, this ban doesn't mean that you cannot use the forum, you just can't post, but you can still search for answers, if you really want them
