Go over to the meta section and there are always new threads created by banned users crying their eyes out. This is another foolish mistake, because it is "ban evasion" and is punishable with permanent ban  Shocked

I'm usually pretty respectful, but we all f$&@ up on occasion. Just be warned, the Mods will enforce their rules and there's nothing you can do about it.

Just like IRL, think before you speak. This community is pretty great really, enjoy!
1102  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: payment escrow service on: January 17, 2015, 04:05:31 AM
Cool! I just came to this sub to ask the same thing as OP. Never needed escrow before but I am setting up an Etsy shop and Etsy allows users to transact in Bitcoin. The vendor mentions that he accepts on the product info, and the buyer needs to contact vendor to set it up. This require a trusted escrow provider who is willing to hold funds for as long as shipping takes.
Is escrow more expensive the longer the deal takes to clear, or is it a flat percentage rate?
1103  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Adam Guerbuez claims some very big news is coming for Bitcoin this friday on: January 17, 2015, 03:57:21 AM
lol some of you guys are complete morons.

No wonder the bitcoin community as a whole is so easy to exploit.  They'll believe just about anything tossed their way.
I dunno, it is called "Bitcoin Discussion[i/]" not "Bitcoin Irrefutable Truths and Unarguable Facts" no matter how many figure this is what they offer.
1104  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [2015] Poll: What is the LOWEST price you can remember buying BTC on an exchange on: January 17, 2015, 01:49:33 AM
Gawd, it still burns my ass, what happened to me! I became aware of BTC right before it shot up to 15$ back in 2011 (I think it was 2011, the first "bubble") but at that time I was struggling to pay my bills and also didn't fully understand BTC enough to feel comfortable getting some, I could have been mining on my laptop really, I would have mined a few, more than I could right now with a 60Ghs, but I missed that boat. later, that summer, my mother passed away, and when I was talking with my siblings, they informed me there was money coming my way, and I should think about how I was going to use it. Not a fortune, but a substantial amount, and I should consider investing. Now the wheels started to turn! I really had no experience with such things and could only think of the traditional store of value type things like precious metals and real estate...stuff people with money but no real investing knowledge like to go to. PM and real estate are pretty safe bets, but I had already been looking at BTC and decided I would go for a nice healthy position, because I'm greedy and I wanted my nest egg to become a fortune!

Problem here is, inheriting money takes time, there is estate to settle, taxes to pay, lawyers and accountants blah blah blah. seemed like there was delay after delay, even though I was pestering my sister, the executor, to hurry the fuck up...I could feel the pressure building, and the more I learned about BTC the more I heard promises of The Moon AND watched the price slowly creep up. By the time I had money in my account it was early 2013 and BTC was already beginning its rise into what became the great 100$+ bubble of that spring. They were already 20$ each and I was restricted by these n00b exchanges who had really restrictive deposit limits and weren't the most trust worthy either.

Long story a little shorter; I was throwing 2000$ daily at this cash deposit exchange, running to my bank, every day seeing the price go from 20 to 40 to 60 to 80 to 100, all in the space of about 2 weeks, and by the time btc hit 100$ per coin it was getting too rich for my blood, I had spent my limit for that part of my portfolio and I had spent as much on BTC as I could afford to lose without killing myself so I stopped buying with only a little over 100BTc to my name. Not too bad really, but not the thousand plus I originally dreamed of getting. Had I been more solvent a little bit earlier, even a week or two earlier, I would have 10x or more BTC and would already be a millionaire.

On the bright side, I bought a nice stack of gold and silver which is being very nice to me right now.

TL;DR As Get Smart used to say "missed it by that much"

1105  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Adam Guerbuez claims some very big news is coming for Bitcoin this friday on: January 17, 2015, 01:27:32 AM
When people are deceptive, or misleading to draw my attention to something, I get it. I see they are trying to grab my attention. However, it always colours my opinion of what they lead me to. If your product is good, you need not try and fool me into looking at it, you have betrayed a little trust, and it reflects poorly on both you and your message.

That is why "I saved you a click" is a popular thing. Nobody likes to go through an ad to get to a link that isnt even really as it was characterized. When you see those "you wont believe what this housewife did behind her husband's back" posts on social media you already know you are being toyed with, that is why they bother everybody so much. you click it and its an ad for diet pills or some other such baloney.

Adam Gooberz has been pulling this sort of deceptive practices for a long time apparently. I wonder what he thinks of his followers? I'm sure it isn't very flattering, considering he has no problem messing with them and wasting their time. Typical neckbeard Aspergers 40 year old virgin 'puter nerd behavior. Charming.

I suppose we are all feeding the troll though... lol
1106  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: January 17, 2015, 01:16:39 AM
Does anyone know what is going on with the Prisma sig campaign? As far as I can tell they aren't selling Prismas anymore, no news from sunxiaxo (sp?) no news of an update (could put new different ad in sig?) no payment for December 2014 and no nothing!!! If the thing is over, I would appreciate hearing that so I could move on. If they are waiting for a new AM product to advertise, I would like to know that as well.
1107  Other / Meta / Re: Anyone else finds it ironic that THE forum on BTC doesn't integrate tipping? on: January 17, 2015, 01:09:29 AM
If you are here, I would assume you are into bitcoin and learning how to use it. put your receiving address in your sig, at least have one on your profile page. Anyone with btc can send you some love directly from their wallet. Things like changetip are for n00bs and people who have no knowledge of how bitcoin works and is really meant for platforms where you don't know who will come across your content. Its made to facilitate and introduce btc. Is redundant here.
1108  Other / Beginners & Help / Be Careful, Couteous...Read The Rules! on: January 17, 2015, 01:02:05 AM
Don't do what I did guys. I just got off a 5 day ban. I was guilty as charged, deserved what I got, but it sucks to be locked out from posting! Especially when stuff is going on in the world of Bitcoin. This is the only real place to go for discussion of bitcoin and related issues, so read the rules and dont mess around. My only excuse is I didn't feel anyone would take what I said seriously, but in retrospect, you have no way of knowing this. I wont do it again (I "incited violence" which is true, it was foolish of me considering I didn't even really mean it, was just venting, but still...)

Just a friendly reminder, be careful how you behave on here. Usually hubris is not worth it!
1109  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Karpeles the real DPR? on: January 17, 2015, 12:55:43 AM
Do you mean to tell me you can get frappuccino from Silk Road? Wow, they really do have everything on there!
1110  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Adam Guerbuez claims some very big news is coming for Bitcoin this friday on: January 16, 2015, 10:41:29 PM
Nobodies ever had anything important to say on twitter in the history of twitter

People who post on twitter are attention whores who think they're important.

People who read twitter posts are braindead morons

I've never heard of the faggot who's claming there's big news for bitcoin

He think he's important and trying to get attention from idiots like the posters ITT

I'm claiming that OP is a faggot.

You just posted 6 tweets right there. You are a natural at Twitter, sir. A veritable "Twat" if I ever saw one.
I'll follow you
1111  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Adam Guerbuez claims some very big news is coming for Bitcoin this friday on: January 16, 2015, 09:13:36 PM
I had a buddy who used to make random predictions all the time. Stuff like, when sitting in a cafe, he would announce "Someone is going to walk through that door right now!" Half of the time someone would walk through the door, and BOOM, my buddy is a psychic. It was bullshit and kinda funny too, he had about a 50/50 accuracy rating for predicting flies landing on ceilings, clouds covering the sun, red car driving by next, you name it. LOL.

Same scenario here with different intentions. My friend was just messing with us while debunking psychic powers in the process. This fat lob A Guerbuez is just looking for attention, web traffic, etc etc etc.

Well here's my big news; One of the exchanges (wont tell you which one  Wink) is going to experience technical problems next week. Mark my words, you heard it here first, and you will be glad you are holding in your cold wallets and don't have cash or btc stuck in cyberspace. You can thank me later!

1112  Other / Off-topic / Re: If you had to make a movie about Karpeles, what title would you give it? on: January 16, 2015, 09:01:05 PM
Whatever the title might be (I like Never Ending Goxxing) The lead actor who portrays Karpeles is crucial! People have been promoting Johna Hill (yes he's fat, but beyond that he doesnt look a thing like Mark) and even Patrick Bateman (not even close) But no one except me seems to be able to see the sheer brilliance of having Patrick Roach, The actor who plays Randy BoBandy on The Trailer Park Boys, play Karpeles. Think about it, Pat/Randy looks a LOT like M. Karpeles, hes a gifted comic actor, and already is used to playing a fat, stupid, dull-witted, obstinant, seedy, greedy (for cheeseburgers) petty crook and male prostitute LOL.
If you have never witnessed Trailer Park Boys in action, you are missing out on some of the funniest television comedy Canada has ever produced. Start with season one...and ENJOY!
heres a "Best of" clip of Randy BoBandy played by Patrick Roach...watch it and tell me the guy is not Mark Karpeles https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uch7T6arVbs

here's Pat Roach doing a Q&A in character as ex-prostitute/cheeseburger addict Randy Bobandy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kj6LkF6iv_w
1113  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] Official Shareholder Discussion Thread [Moderated] on: January 16, 2015, 08:37:34 PM
Indeed!
None of us know exactly how ken spent our money, where it went...we've been kept so much in the dark, that that alone is enough to warrant investigation, MSD review, penalties if necessary. If he tried honestly and failed honestly, lets see the numbers. If he cant account he is, in our eyes, and the eyes of the law, guilty.
Yeah, poor fuckin ken. Nobody wants to cut the guy a break, eh Zum? How about you send me a few dozen BTC and I'll... get back to you sometime in the future with your profits, or not. I\m working on a NDA thing thats totally hush hush but for sure will make your BTC shine (hint; its a dishwasher that cleans Cassicus coins)
1114  Economy / Services / Re: EARN BITCOIN WITH YOUR SIGNATURE ,UP TO 0.1BTC A MONTH, ONLY 30 SLOTS LEFT on: January 16, 2015, 08:29:07 PM
I have not received payment since dec 15th 2014. Is this campaign still going? I would appreciate some news so that I can move on if the Prisma campaign is over, or wait for my payment. Either way, I am still owed for last month. Come on guys...

😝😛😜😘
Yeah...but
Could an iOS app contain Trojan or key loggers or such? I mean, it hasn't happened yet, but it is concievable, no?
Both these apps appeared at the same time, they look similar sort of. The LuckyBitz one needs to run in the foreground constantly to earn tickets and who knows if the winner is actually not the dev's sister or nephew or something. Mostly I dont trust that it must run in the foreground endlessly. That's just counter intuitive to the purpose of my ipod

I asked your mom what she thought of your criteria and she said "da Moon!"
1118  Other / Meta / Re: "Ignore" button on: January 10, 2015, 11:14:22 AM
But that applies to Me seeing if They are ignored by others. I am inquiring if there is a way for Me to see if They are not interested in hearing from Me.
Fair enough if someone don't like me and wishes to mute my comments, I'm not mad. I'd just like to know they aren't listening so that I can do us all a favor and move the convo elsewhere.
Hmmm. I could see that creating resentments though...

However, I do believe that knowing where and when you are wanted or welcome is a solid foundation for good manners and etiquette
1119  Other / Meta / Re: Just remove signatures already. As in delete, disable, gone. on: January 10, 2015, 10:59:08 AM
Well, obviously I am making money from a sig campaign, even though my sig is advertising a dud product. Don't ask me how or why, but they give me btc despite the fact I may or may not be almost unanimously ignored and/or derided as a known fool.

I do not agree that this forum has become totally saturated with junk posts, not entirely.
The more technical areas are still good, and some of the more philosophical discussions still hold value for me.
Economics are discussed at length and I for one have learned from these discussions.
Also, I wholly support a moritorium  on sig campaigns. I mean it when I say IDGAF, not just Internet but to your face.
You can bitch about quality or purity or motive, but in the end it is what YOU bring to the table that makes the difference.

1120  Other / Meta / "Ignore" button on: January 10, 2015, 10:42:56 AM
Is there any way for a user to tell who is ignoring them? I mean, besides the fact nobody has anything to say to my comments, that is.
I'm used to being ignored IRL, but IRL it is quite clear when it happens.

I'm not sure if I can tell if I'm not welcome or not in here.
