1161  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: do you lose on slots? on: May 31, 2023, 05:01:45 PM
85 year old Grandma knows where its at, experience beats enthusiasm.  Most people quit but clearly an 85 year old has the gravitas to know just how long it takes to win.   The slots have changed over the years some, its possible your grandma had benefited from seeing all the various aspects to the games.  The cycle theory to wins etc.   I've mentioned before one of the craftiest players I saw was a bar man who would hop on machines after people quit having put in alot of money but won little.  He no doubt considered it a job bonus, literally he is there for 12 hours a day and is forced to watch the full cycle of win/loss and I think this gives the perspective to win; my theory.

haha haven't thought about that before
do you think casino odds are changing over the decades and starting to get harder? or at least different

well, buying a house is definitely harder now than it was for our grandparents due to inflation and the difference in real wages / buying power.

Se for sim, mantenha a compra.

I joined bunch of Duelbits contest and trivia on twitter. It’s almost impossible to win due to the bot accounts infesting the comment section to increase their chance of winning. I’d rather focus on casino website promotion than the social media that saturated with bot account.
I won't say impossible but yes the bot accounts have made it hard for us to win in them as there are hundreds of them ready to participate in such contests and giveaways. The chance are high for us when there's some real participation and some requirements which they can't qualify for.But still we can try it to see our luck.

yes, trying won't hurt but when it becomes that big it's usually really really hard to win
then the difference between trying and not trying becomes really small

but of course, nobody never won anything by not trying
Well, I think it's not all about trying, It is more of knowing that you are not wasting your time, for what is essence of trying something over and over and over again, even when it looks like your tries is simply you wasting your time?

I think the team behind the contests should raise up and do something about the bots, to give real people a better chance of winning, else, a time will come when it will be only bots joining the contest, because real people have lost confidence.

well it's not a lot of time anyways
one retweet, or one quote retweet or something like that
will take less than one minute and can be done almost on automatic if you're rolling social media

but I do agree there are better ways to make contests excluding bots

oh, only 2 winners is quite competitive
I remember other contests had at least 2 winners in each category
That's true. In previous contest there are only 2 winners for each category hence it's quite competitive especially if many entries are submitted for the specific category. Only the best will be chosen so it's not really easy to win.

so can't we expect at least one winner in each category?
For each category there can be 1-4 winners depending on the number of submission. Good thing now there's a consolation prize (free spins) for those eligible participants and didn't made it to be on the list of winners.

Anyway, this is the last day of submission so post your artworks now before it's too late.

that's quite cool
I remember other contests didn't have consolation prizes and free spins, good to see it and awesome marketing idea by roobet's team

Do you know if they accept AI generated art on the digital art category?
these days it's always a good idea to specify it

<snip>
I just want to confirm if the reward of $5k is per category or that is already the whole reward for this contest?
The $5k prize pool is the combined amount of total prizes for each categories.
I assume that there is a initial $1k total prize for every category  (max 4 winners for every category).
I guess, if there are only 2 submissions, the pool for that category (which is $1k originally) will be lessened (e. g., $500) and then the half will be distributed to other categories. On the other hand, it is also possible that those 2 artists will enjoy the $1k.

Most probably, it's not necessary four winners as it will depend on the quality of the entries, so even if there's a lot of participants if their work is not that good, you can expect 2 winners or less. There's a big competition right now with this art contest, you can expect more good entries at the day of deadline because that's the usual time for the entries to be submitted, and I agree $5k will be the total pool reward for this contest.

oh, only 2 winners is quite competitive
I remember other contests had at least 2 winners in each category

so can't we expect at least one winner in each category?
1166  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Re: URGENTE: NÃO ATUALIZE SEU LEDGER! on: May 30, 2023, 04:59:06 PM

coisas diferentes
1167  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [POLL] Using AI to predict outcomes on: May 30, 2023, 04:42:14 PM
Unfortunately those sources are not to be trusted either, while it is very difficult for a news agency to remain impartial and neutral, the truth is that most of them do not even try anymore and everything they report has a very strong bias, and this has caused people to stop trusting them.

Now this is sooner or later going to create a huge problem of trust among the whole society as now we cannot even trust our eyes as everything that we see could be manipulated with the use of AI, a scenario similar to the one depicted on the novel 1984.
Perhaps, that's what triggers some countries to want to regulate the use of AI because of misinformation about the news they want to find. And this makes many developers continue to work hard to improve AI to provide more valid information and not provide wrong information to users. And we as users have to be more careful in using AI, and we also have to have more sources that can provide additional information about the news we are looking for. Before we use AI to predict the results, we must compare the information obtained by AI with the information we get to know whether the information is valid or have to look for additional information.
Personally I have never been a fan when it comes to forbidding a particular technology as people will always find a way around it, but on the case of deepfakes this may be the only solution, even an image which has been edited can still be proven to be false by experts with the right technology.

But I really think we may get to the point in which deepfakes may get so realistic that no one will be able to distinguish them, and this could increase the sense of chaos people feel as they will not know what to believe anymore.

I think this is already happening
for me seems like the way to go with deepfakes is not trying to prove what is real or false but teaching people to have critical thinking (hard, specially in poorer countries) and also use crypto/blockchain as means to verify veracity of information

probably the best ways

1171  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [POLL] Using AI to predict outcomes on: May 27, 2023, 02:35:09 PM
In my opinion, as long as there are fixed matches in sports, no matter how cool the AI is, it, like any good analyst, will make mistakes for reasons beyond its control. AI can achieve great results in forecasting, but only if the human factor will be excluded from the sport, for example soccer will be played by robots. But it seems to me that it won't be as interesting as a match with real players. But I am interested to see the statistics of AI predictions.

Fixed games make up a tiny fraction of the total number of games and do not greatly affect AI results. In addition, all results are compared with each other (for example, with expert forecasts), so everyone suffers from such fluctuations to the same extent.
As for errors, when we talk about random events, this is a very vague concept. For example, AI predicts that a team will draw with a 60% chance, win with a 20% chance, and lose with a 20% chance. What should be the result for you to say that the prediction was correct? Valuation is only possible over a long distance, and as far as I know, quote providers are already approaching an accuracy of 1%.

that reminds me of the wisdom of the masses, that averaging in lots of predictions usually give a better result (on average lol) than individual predictions

I wonder if there's people studying that using the existing prediction markets and sports betting platforms at this moment.
have you heard of something like that?

well , Enough for KYC  Grin

what about those skilled/artist members here ? have you already prepared for the near to end contest ?

Roobet.com l Art Contest "Mr. Roo Rocks the Cosmos ending this May 31st  if not then better do your things before missing one of the highest paying contest in crypto forum now  Wink

Good luck to all participants , this is the generosity of Roobet.com for everyone not only Gamblers but artist as well .
We have to focus on this as four more days before the deadline, we have to move on with this KYC thing and focus on what matters the most.
I only saw two entries so far and they are both good, as we are nearing the deadline expect to see more entries.
I just want to confirm if the reward of $5k is per category or that is already the whole reward for this contest?

the KYC discussion will keep coming and going nonetheless

but great reminder, curious to see only 2 entries so far
but I suppose the reserved posts will be updated last minute, don't you think the same?

1174  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Re: URGENTE: Brasil vai tributar offshores e trustes? on: May 26, 2023, 12:30:54 PM

O lema aqui é justamente a instabilidade jurídica.

good to remember that Santos was the first home for many bigger players that ended up in the official Brazilian team, like Robinho and some others that I'm probably forgetting about

Sorry guys, i miss the thread i was busy.

wow
interesting to know that
thanks for the information @darxiaomi
makes me think of what are the most famous Brazilian teams

maybe Palmeiras and Sao Paulo?
not sure

Well i know Corinthians its the most followed one in term of number of fans, but for us a lot of teams from Brazil are the "biggers".

Flamengo, Fluminense, Cruzeiro, Sao Paulo, Corinthians, Palmeiras, Inter, Gremio. Santos (few fans but a big team in term of trophies and football). Also Vasco da gama and i dont know if im missed anyone.

About betting in this round.... im not betting at all because in group fase theteams develop its strange, im gonna bet when the matches are gonna be more decissive like in 5 and 6 round.

cool to hear that
thanks for sharing

no problem about the time
I also forgot this thread and got back now

When we are in a casino, things always change, for example when we play poker we are 50% skill and 50% Luck, ethnances still the skill games in a casino it is very difficult to Determine that they are quite a lot of skill , let's be Teachers in poker, but if the game is Random and do not launch the letters that are or that we need because simply we will lose with the best hand in the world, then we have to be clear in a casino that when we enter we must consider that the risky money the most It is sure to be lost, if we think that way we will be more Relaxed to play.

I think this estimation is a bit off
I'd say pocker is at least 75% skill and 25% luck, could be even more skill though, it's not a game I follow so closely

but you're right, some other casino games are way more based on luck, not skill. and casinos usually use triggers to keep people playing

I think you are both arguing on a percentage that is very hard to determine and varies per person skill level. The percentage ratio of skill and luck on poker varies based on gambler skill. You can increase the percentage of skills over luck on winning probability if you are really good on poker while @luckmcfly 50/50 ratio is still valid if user is a mediocre player since this time he needs more luck to win. Skills percentage increase based on the user capability to win the game.

but you're right, some other casino games are way more based on luck, not skill. and casinos usually use triggers to keep people playing

Not only some but almost all casino games are based on luck and less skills since this is gambling. Casino wants players to rely only on luck while they have the advantage due to house edge to guarantee the casino profit in long term since they are business.

well, for as long as i am into sports betting i would say that in gambling there are two categories:

1 - games of chance that depend on luck: roulette, dice, slot games, you don't create strategies for these games, the person puts money in them and has to hope that luck strikes him, sincerely these types of games are very tiring in my opinion, I've tried some of them in the past but the result was a disaster, I started winning but then started with a string of many losses and all my balance sheet ended, so I decided to stop for always with casino games that depend on luck

2 - games that do not depend on luck: card games and sports betting, in these games the person must have a lot of knowledge to be able to do well, just see that there are cases (cases of people who got rich playing cards in casinos) although everyone it must start from the principle that gambling are not things for people to think about profit, but obviously there are people profiting from gambling and in most cases they are not thanks to games related to luck, they are thanks to gambling that do not depend on luck. for example in today's premier league game we have manchester united against chelsea, if someone simply puts money in chelsea thinking he is counting on luck that person will lose money, but people who rely on analysis will know how to place a bet correctly

the thing is that sports betting has a huge luck component too because there are just too many variables in play
the most skilled is not always the winner

besides that there are other things like yellow/red cards betting in football or corner kicks

o livro dele "debt: the first 5,000 years" é bem denso mas vale ler.

Unfortunately the live streaming isn't available for everyone. It is available for the residents of Brazil only. They have mentioned it in the email message. I'm unable to see the matches through the live streaming feature of Duelbits as I'm not a resident of Brazil. I hope they will make it available for the residents of other countries soon.

have you tried using a VPN?
it will probably work if duelbits is not blocking the vpn ip from accessing the website

I've seen people using it before to circumvent country prohibitions, give it a shot.
