1161  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Lies Bagholders Tell Themselves. on: May 26, 2015, 09:55:52 PM
My biggest gripe in general is when Coins have been around for a while and people refer to a Coin in a way that one person owns the Coin. While this may be somewhat true if one or a couple people hold a large amount of Coins but for more established Coins it has the effect that people are waiting for everyone else to do the work for them. This is absolute shit because anyone can take over a Coin and literally change anything about it, if you are holding onto a Coin and want to see it go up in value then you should be doing what you can to help make that happen AND learn everything you can about sourcecode and coding. Please stop whining and complaining about the bags you are holding and get off your ass and do something about it, you have the power to do it but aren't because you are too lazy and wasting your time blaming others for your own mistakes, waiting as the world passes you by for that magical day when someone comes along and makes you rich. If you have the mentality that you are going to buy some Coin and hold onto it for the day when you can buy an island, that day will never come because you are the type in which will never create your own destiny and by that method will always pick losers.
1162  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Lies Bagholders Tell Themselves. on: May 26, 2015, 09:29:27 PM
I have been shrewd and the key word is patient when others have panic sold so yeah I am right and I know it.
And I have the profit to prove it while others were crying they got burned so yes when you sell is paramount / tantamount ?
Most get high early and then dwindle away to shit all etc so if you sold early most times you'd be ok.
So generally speaking *most of the time I'd say yeah on that "quote"
Key issue is many guys hold super long term thinking Doge coin is going to be $10 a coin one day or something
so if you had sold earlier you'd be ahead of course right ? see what I am saying ?

Smart trading practices only come with time, you would make more by waiting for proper buy and sell signals. Taking DogeCoin for instance there has been some big bottoms and some nice tops so by being patient and finding those points you would end up making money.

In general "you haven't lost until you've sold" is the excuse people use when they are down a lot with no hope in seeing any ROI and don't want other people to panic sell and make their own investment worth even less. They hold and hold and hold until it's worth nothing because they are focused on where they price was when they originally bought it, it clouds judgment and they miss those trading opportunities of panic selling/buying.

I was wondering where I might be able to help with some of the work on the improved in-wallet Block explorer you have been working on, I'd like to contribute somewhere after all the help you guys have given.

Right now the in wallet explorer code is closed source. It might stay that way depending on how a few things go. I have been focusing on some blockchain analytics and not quite sure I want to throw it all out to the public.

Fair enough, is there something else I could help with instead?

Pfft, I already received my SEAPIG™ Card a few days ago. MBP edition! https://forum.gethashing.com/t/seapig-customer-complaint-grain-of-salt/3843

Even Suchmoon got a SEAPIG™ Card

Some people were asking about overdraft Fees associated with the SEAPIG™ Card

Quote
No? So who booked a flight to Dubai on my card then? Just got it and its already maxed.

sorry I those tickets were expensive but well in order to get the super rare collectable plane I had to upgrade to first class accomodations.

Whats the overdraft fee like on your card?

Overdraft Fee? There are no Fees on the SEAPIG™ Card, you can keep on spending and create collateral subjectation for future acquisitions. This allows the SEAPIG™ Card to create a flux within the spacerift and derive funds from a point in time at which you were always profitable.

With this approach we believe that the SEAPIG™ Card will change the way you see finance as you may not know it. The obfuscation of our optimism can sufficely reverberate the meaning of which we are saying although we cannot say exactly how we will achieve those means due to non disclosure agreements.

1165  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CON] PayCon™ POS 30 Coins per Block - Get your CON on! on: May 26, 2015, 02:02:10 PM
Keep up the good work man! This is definitely most appreciated by many altcoin fans and more. By the way, in case you would like to further increase publicity - you could make a thread about PayCon on a new crypto forum - http://cryptoscene.com/. The forum is still young, but it seems like supported by c-cex, or at least they are one of the first members there and advertised it in their twitter. I don't think it's worth to be very active there, but putting the main info in Altcoins->Announcements about the coin and how to get some would be very useful for community there Wink

The main forum I am active on besides Bitcointalk is the PayCon subforums on the Gethashing forums https://forum.gethashing.com/c/sub-forums/paycon

I am also now a moderator on https://cryptoplays.com in which we have a whole set of forums as well.

I really like Gethashing because it has a very high concentration of technical people, a couple of them helped me sort out a couple Mac bugs in the last few days. Stakeminers posted a topic there and they questioned EVERYTHING and I really liked that.

I like Cryptoplays because of the absolute freedom it gives.

I'll throw a topic there for some more exposure but redirect here and the Gethashing sub-forum to help keep more activity in less places.

All exposure is good, we can expose ourselves to everyone!

1166  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Currencies delisting from exchanges on: May 26, 2015, 10:20:30 AM
This a problem for most coins indeed,

I will be making available a open source exchange very soon, anyone a coin developer or a pool operator will be able to set this up with step by step instruction within a few hours on an ubuntu server at zero cost, you can start an exchange of your own in no time just like starting a wordpress server very straight forward installlation.

the open source exchange will make MTC Marinecoin as base currency however you will have the ability to add extra pairs such as BTC,
Your delisted coin also will have a USD pair and site users will deposit USD via Paypal IPN and start trading instatntly if they don't have BTC or MTC to deposit they can deposit USD or EUR.

There is no limit on how many of and who can setup this open source altcoin exchange you can or the community can setup multiple of them with different designs and their price and volume data will be listed on marketcapcoin.com

my progress:
as of today:

fully functional trading engine with smart order execution,
coin deposit and withdrawal to account name
fully automatic PayPal deposits
charts with volume, order cancellation after too small remainder on partial fills
secure user creation and login
trading engine logic,

currently
ı am working on CSS design and security implementations on database, and hope to showcase a demo very soon

It will take some more time but I am about to throw the life line for coins who are in need of urgent exchanges or coins that are newly introduced.

Marinecoin Dev
marinecoin.org
It is great. Now everyone can easily set up his own exchange and add his own coins. Once the trading volume reach some level, hackers will come around. What I am concerned is that what about your security level!

the exchange server is fully enclosed, wallets are also no outside connection to wallet except localhost, multiple steps to prevent coin withdrawal from wallet in case database somehow gets injected with an overbalance. many safety nets to catch illegit withdrawal requests will be implemented.

I hope you mean that it will be completely opensource in that people can dig through the code itself and use their own Coin as the base instead of MarineCoin. The reason I am saying this is because I was around for MarineCoins inception and the developers made wild claims about giant yachts, MarineCoin cities, and a fake marketcap higher than BTC. If it is completely open source and Communities can opt to use whatever Coins they want, it would be a much bigger boost for MarineCoin than if it's only pseudo open-source and have to use MarineCoin as the base pair. I do appreciate that the developers are still working on MarineCoin after all this time, for me there are trust issues there but to do something like open-sourcing an exchange that Coins can easily setup would be a great step in gaining wider acceptance of the community in general.

Take a look that
it is posted on one of btc gorum, launch is 1 july

This is the first mention of this that is being made - we have a really nice up and comer exchange that we will be included in, where there is fiat to crypto exchange, the real beauty of this exchange is that they primarily focus on fiat currencies from around the world and will provide exchange from and to any of the currencies listed. They also have a card and ways for merchants to accept payments in Popular Coins!

https://www.payservices.com/

You said we will be included into it? I don't see any mention of PayCon on their website anywhere?

I see this

Quote
Supported Crypto Currencies

Name:

Bitcoin (¤) UBTC

Butterfly Bits (¤) UBFB

FeatherCoin Classic (¤) FTCC

Nuevo BitCentavo Electrónico (¤) UNBE

Whenever you need to send a crypto currency code, please use the corresponding PSI 2014 code.

Also, even though Bitcointalk was down for a number of days, I made some good progress with bug testing of a bunch of new features but still bit to do on it, nothing really extreme.

I've had a few people ask for some development work so recommended that they start here, glad to see you are still working at it.
1170  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: GAW / Josh Garza discussion Paycoin XPY btc.com Bitcoinist. ALWAYS MAKE MONEY :) on: May 21, 2015, 09:37:05 PM
This place is quiet!  Looks like we will be limping over the 2000 page milestone.   I think the problem is that this scam has now fractured into so many different "sub scams"  and the forums have scattered into 3 or 4 locations that it is now incredibly difficult to even keep up with each new scam as it appears.

BTClend is a vile part of this scam and needs more focus.  Garza is obviously involved along with the prick Cmilian.

I still lurk this topic but don't post much unless it's needed because I don't want to give attention it doesn't deserve.

If you are putting money into BTClend, you deserve to lose your money and it's STILL trying to suck money from the hashtalk hopefuls.

You can't harvest peoples emails in order to promote your SHIT service and try to make it sound like someone recommended the service, especially if you can't proof read. Guaranteed ROI in 30 days, man I lol'd so hard at that considering there is NO PLAN on how to achieve that, just another fraud Ponzi scheme we are used to seeing. Cmillian was saying that is a brick and mortar store, well in that case they should be liable for fines or get them shut down at the very least for their email promotion shit.

If you are just reading this now, all email addresses from hashtalk.ch were harvested and promotion for BTClend were sent out stating that their service was "recommended though a friend" and will guarantee you ROI in 30 days by investing in their service. If you read their terms and service, their word salad states that they will use your personal information for whatever they want, including sale to any 3rd party services.

Looks like HYP is moon bound today.

That's because it's awesome Smiley

MOON!

But seriously, why is it that no one even attempts to work on the source code? There are only a handful of Coins that are actively developing, most are just clones with developers that got someone else to create it but have no understanding of how it works or the ability to progress it on their own, cheerleaders hoping that someone will come along and will develop it for them.
1172  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CON] PayCon™ POS 30 Coins per Block - Get your CON on! on: May 21, 2015, 09:09:16 PM
This is still a very undervalued coin in terms of potential, transparency, origins, devs, etc...
It can go up in price tenfold anyday when some whales begin to see the hidden potential. No one though a meme coin can go up to the coin number three in the markets, I mean DOGE. Now it's time for a more radical innovation and experiment to become the norm. A time for CON!

For me I think of Doge in terms of marketing and that it is much better to have fun with it and push creative marketing. There are many that take it too seriously when altcoins in general are quite beta, especially when working with Proof of Stake. The problem I have with Dogecoin is that it's full of newbies, geared towards kids and I have come to despise POW because it is wasteful and if you are holding Coins, they are losing value every day as compared to the overall money supply. Atleast with Proof of Stake if it drops in price a bit it becomes offset by having more Coins and as long as you are not starting from a ridiculous valuation, it then hits it's base value and provides consistent gains over time. I think using Proof of Work is taking the easy way out because it's rudimentary and works as is but you get nowhere by taking the easy route.

I am more of the opinion that it's better not to even compare too much to other Coins because it's assuming that they are doing it better, many have good traits to learn from (good or bad) but it's good to atleast try not to live in another Coins shadow, although that might be a little hypocritical to say, lol.
1173  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How can I trust an altcoin when... on: May 21, 2015, 09:45:47 AM
I wanted to play around with some altcoins but many of the main websites are sketch at best.  For example when checking out UltraCoin, their recommended miner has spyware in it.  What altcoins can you trust?

Most coins with team members/developers that use their real names and have been around for years you can trust.

Using real names can be faked, "Proof of Developer" was used with many fake ids in order to give the illusion of trust. Basically you can't trust anyone but if they've been around for a while and people aren't complaining about them then they are probably trustworthy. I've had one issue where I paid for some work and the guy was complaining he suffered from massive migraines and then updated Skype that he was in the hospital and then never heard from him again, the work he did for me was a bit shoddy but he kinda delivered and the source was clean. It was a clone of communitycoin and I learnt a fair bit using that source, it was getting him to add in coin control in which I paid 0.5 BTC and then he disappeared so if anything I only overpaid a bit but other than that I haven't had any real issues with people I've met.

I also don't trust newbies and wouldn't download anything from anyone unless getting to know them first, also they could have bought their account. Not sharing personal information freely doesn't make a person untrustworthy, if they've been around for ages then there are probably lots of people that know who they are but just don't share their private information out of respect.

"Trust cannot be learned, purchased, or acquired-- it can only be earned." -Anonymous

Earning takes time, so asking others for recommendations is probably a bad starting point. Maybe figure out what's most important to you in a coin and then work out which coins have best implemented those features and have the most trust worthy community and devs.

This is good advice.

I'll try to get into it more this weekend, in the meantime you can see some of the stuff I am working on with the wallet here: https://github.com/Crestington/PayCon/commits/Wallet-work

I have also been in talks with cyberpinoy about an addition to their Staking pool. They want some more information and website about PayCon, I can only do so much! and my main focus at the moment is cleaning up the wallet and perfecting it until I can get more into the code for the marketplace. We did up a skin for ConStand using WeBid but TBH it was kinda ugly, and also needed to work on the payment processor and how to handle payments in general. We found a modified WeBid used for Bitcoin Payments but the list price for the source was $500, then ended up finding an even better one for much cheaper so in the process of setting that up so we can start fiddling around and make changes.

Some website stuff with information might be good to do up if anyone has the time or want to do it, doesn't really have to be pro looking, can even sport mostly fake pictures with a bunch of bullshit because hey, this is PayCon, lol

Edit: You can view the Super Beta Alpha version of ConStand here http://constand.ga/w/

Shop looks really cool

Thanks! I did all the skinning of it myself, first time getting into using php. Semismiling of the GetHashing forums did the hosting for it and gave me access to the admin to tinker around with it. We have that, but we also got access to a much better one with phpprobid for a discounted price. Now that I've gotten into the reworking of the Blockchain, I'd like to get that out of the way before moving forward again. He'd be managing the license and the marketplace, it already has a bitcoin plugin for v6 but trying to find a bitcoin plugin for v7 (or adapting it), just waiting for him at the moment to setup the hosting for it so we can work on that. I still have the testing and debugging branch https://github.com/Crestington/PayCon/commits/Wallet-work so you guys can see what I'm currently working on so that it doesn't seem like I've just disappeared when I'm actually digging hard into the code.
1176  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] XPRO - TAKEOVER - Exchange with futures coming! on: May 20, 2015, 08:39:16 PM
....so u have a bunch of pro u need to dump? otherwise u would start new coin. Thanks but no thanks

We have no interest in making a new coin. This one is already out, distributed well, on 2 exchanges and has a good block explorer. We liked the ideas behind this coin and we feel we can achieve what was originally set out, and hopefully much more. If we were to make a new coin with the same specs / features etc you would jump on and say it was a copy of this one. So there's really not much point.

Yes, it seems originally it was a scam, or a victim of excessive FUD - but that's over now, and we can start from the bottom and work our way up to having a stable coin and market.

Plus it has a good name Smiley

I guess I was the starter of the excessive FUD? lol

I'm sure it was the same developer as OmegaCoin that launched Pro, they didn't even attempt to deny it. Atleast you guys are trying to make a go of it instead of launching a new Coin since you'd go through the same P&D that all Coins go through in the initial mining.

ProTeam should do something for transparency since it's a newbie account, you need to be able to show that there is some trust somewhere. Either you can be a member of Bitcointalk for a great deal of time with a high amount of activity, in which case actions over time is stronger than something like POD, or to just lay it out on the line at let people know where you stand with coding ability and prove the team. You don't need to be a rockstar coder, I think if you want to run a coin that you would just need to show you are working on it and where and be upfront about everything and then if you can't run it anymore than just let people know so that someone else could take it over (or dump their coins, lol)
