I believe you could set up your miner to run with a pagefile, but it will be ungodly slow. What about vram?? Pretty sure paging is what you're referring to. No, I meant, would it be possible to use ram from your graphics card as well as ram? |

I fear something bad happened to him.
We think that it is money, but currency is a community , transactions is communication, and choosing a character to be, is freedom. I have no idea what I am talking about, but what about a free dynamic DNS? My understanding is that they monitor the IP changes and automatically route to you via DNS. Could something like this not work for a masternode, or do you need the actual IP number? Either way, could someone explain, why or why not...

If HunterMinerCrafter (see his posts) was here, i'm sure he'd create a pool. But he disappeared 3 months ago.
I've always wondered if he was Satoshi. Maybe he was.
It is reassuring that only the disappeared crazies with supposed satoshi level would try to create a pool.  It somehow proves my point. He was trying to prove spreadcoin wrong with the "no pools" but he said he'd need to wait until some technology is invented for it to work. |

If that was implemented, this coin would be great! I'm just curious, how did you find out about Spreadcoin? every once in a while (whn my "show new replies to your post" turns up nothing), I click on "show unread posts since your last visit". Because the description of the coin (pool resistant whatever) is in the title of the thread, I was interested and clicked on it. I ultimately didn't put too much effort into the coin. Is it built on cryptonote too? Just saw that it uses tsivs ccminer, so I assume it is. it'd be sweet if these two devs made a coin baby. I don't think it is based on cryptonote. But the algo is different to make it pool resistant. Holy Sh*t price is on 4849 sats!!! |

My point is only that there is very little incentive to (attempt to) implement a pool. That doesn't mean someone won't try anyway though.

Yes, the discussion is highly entertaining and fruitful. And if there is very little incentive to implement a pool, then spreadcoin wins by default. Because that's what we want to prove, that it is so uneconomical and complex to try and setup such an experimental pool, that you will have a very hard time to even find someone who is willing to do that. (after a short effort estimation they will all say: "Not worth it") That's the whole point: we are not going to artificially create a beneficial incentive for this experiment by offering a very high bounty. Why should we? That would be like doing a kickstarter to collect 1 Billion $ for the FED so they can try and do a successful double spend on bitcoin. The free market says it's unfeasible! If HunterMinerCrafter (see his posts) was here, i'm sure he'd create a pool. But he disappeared 3 months ago. I've always wondered if he was Satoshi. Maybe he was. |
