1181  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Important Points to Learn from Your Worst Sports Betting Losses! on: June 25, 2023, 04:19:54 PM
IMHO, even if we'll list as much as important factors for learning through our worst bets and losses is that we will still forget most of them. And with the lessons that we may learn from those, eventually they'll have no place in our minds when we're currently or actively gambling.

Because it gets into our minds that the most important thing is to win. And we only do realize these factors and lessons when we've lost and we've got nothing left.

The latter part of having nothing after we gamble is pushing us to the point that there must be something wrong and we do recognize that at the end. It's true that all of those points should be remembered but situation changes and we often forget it when our emotions are being mixed.

I do agree with that. It's not really my first time to read about some stuffs like this and some points to remember so that our mistakes will not happen again or rather our mistakes will be minimized but the thing is, when we're in the middle of the situation and is going through some ups and downs while gambling, it will be just hard to remember these points because one thing will remain and that is to win.

Still, the OP deserves some credits for taking his time to make us remember about what should we do and remember before we engage towards any gambling activities.
1182  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue | WBC & WBO 122 lbs bout | July 25 on: June 24, 2023, 12:14:42 PM

And following that argument, I also believe that the challenge or pressure is on the side of Fulton
he's the current champ and he also flying to Inoue's homeland, another factor that will bring the
aggressiveness on Inoue's side.

I agree. He will be competing in Japan, which is considered a tough venue to win in. Therefore, he should engage in a toe-to-toe battle with Inoue and aim for a knockout if he wants to ensure victory. Simply running and scoring points wouldn't work against Inoue, as the latter is also quick and possesses jabs that could seriously harm his opponent.

Inoue seeks action, so in order to prevent this fight from becoming boring, Fulton needs to employ a different style—one that would intimidate Inoue and prevent him from being the aggressive attacker.
An action packed fight is what the people wanted and hopefully, Fulton will able to give that to the people mainly his fans so that Inoue will be given a good fight because his last wasn't that impressive as Butler was just aiming for survival. It's like he already figured out who's the winner in the end.
1183  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Confident Are You In The Reliability of the KYC system on: June 24, 2023, 10:26:46 AM
Well, it's tricky to deposit in some casinos that have that "optional KYC" if you are not ready to complete it if needed. I am the one who doesn't like KYC, and I will avoid it whenever I can, but in case of some problem with "taking the money out of the casino" I am ready to complete the KYC procedure.

I guess if someone is confident to deposit and play in some casino should be comfortable with the KYC system as well. Especially if some higher amounts are in question... you trust them with your money why shouldn't you trust them with some additional info?

That's not really the case because it doesn't mean that if we trust them our money, we should also trust them with our personal information as we are not that blind to know what would be the repercussions if our information will leak just because the platform's firewall is not that thick enough to keep away the hackers that wanted to seek some sensitive information for them to sell it in deep web. You wouldn't want that to happen, right?
1184  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: As a Gambler and a Die-Hard Fan of a Club Would you Bet Against your Club on: June 23, 2023, 06:45:07 PM
As a gambler I will never bet against my favorite team and the team I am a fan of. I have faith in my team that my team will never let me down. Be it cricket, football or anything else. From my real experience I bet against my favorite team in gambling and I lost. But if your team is weak then you can bet against your team and you won't let your money go too easily.
You are so loyal, but maybe sometimes I will that thing as well but of course I will bet largely to the team that I am believing with and little amount to the other team . But I think , I did not  do these kind of team because like you I will support my fav team until the end, whether they are losing or what I will stick to that no matter what happens.
Wow..you guys are die hard fans to your team I love that commitment and believe you have in your teams. I will bet against my team secretly, if I know that they don't have what it takes to win their opponent. I might be in love with my team but I wouldn't let that deprive me from betting against them for money, especially when I know very well that the probability of my team winning the game will smaller compare to the other team. Though, whenever our team is playing there is this emotional feeling that they should always win the game. Gambling is a game of luck and sometimes our perspective fails us.

Being a bettor and a loyal to your club or team is a two complete different things as there are no connections to begin with. I personally enjoys watching my favorite team and do some bet as well in their favor as long as I know that their chances to win are good as being a fan, I somewhat know what are their strengths and limitations, but if there's an instance that I don't see them winning, I just watch the game and skipped the betting as I know what is the likelihood of the outcome.
1185  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: June 23, 2023, 05:29:13 PM
Most probably the strategy that Santiago will use is to be quick to score as he has better stamina than Donaire.

He needs to be quick, maybe as quick as Rigo, as Donaire really struggled against Rigo because the latter is very slick. Bookies are not wrong with the betting odds they display. Of course, the public will favor Donaire, as he is the more popular boxer, while Santiago is just a rising boxer who would only become a superstar once he beats the popular Donaire.

If I were to bet, I would go for Donaire winning via KO in 6 rounds or less, or bet on Santiago to win the full fight via a judges' decision.
In my opinion, it is more probable that Donaire will win by KO in 6 rounds or less. I've seen some fight highlights of Santiago, and I'm not impressed with his wins. So even if the fight goes to the judges' scorecards, there's still a chance that Donaire will win. The only way Donaire will lose is if Santiago is able to wear him down, which is not easy to do if a boxer is not as fast as Inoue.

And in my opinion, Donaire still has that capability with his timing and his strong hook that might combine with an open combination
of punches he can take down Santiago.

I also manage to watch Santiago's fights and I think the chance of upsetting Donaire is still slim, though we don't know and we can't conclude the
possible outcome, but if Santiago will continue using his style of fighting, his winning chance is not that high.

Donaire winning via KO in 6 rounds seems attractive and lots of fans will ride and risk for it.

Donaire chose Santiago specifically for some reasons, one of those reasons is he picked the latter because he knows that his chances to win the fight is more than decent because this Santiago haven't proved anything yet and sadly, sorry for the fans but I think he will become a stepping stone for Donaire just to get the belt as I don't think that defeating Donaire is that easy too because the only evident changes for Donaire is his speed but power is still the same.
1186  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 23, 2023, 04:23:02 PM
CP3 could still be a good addition, he has more experience in playoffs and crucial plays, he might be injury prone, but if he will be just getting quality minutes then perhaps the Warriors can really extend him and obviously trying to get another championship run with the old veterans as their core is like 33 years old and up.

No doubt about that because I know that the Golden State Warriors had a very good reason behind that move. Although I will not deny that part of me is questioning that move as well because you see, Chris Paul's vision is different because the man can literally set the table for the team and that's quite a good benefit but the problem is, he is very prone to injury and most of the time, that happens when playoffs or every crucial plays that the team badly needs him.
1187  Economy / Economics / Re: Landed properties is the best investment on: June 23, 2023, 08:15:20 AM
Half of the rich people keep continue to swim in fame and wealth because of their occupied landed properties. If you own a land, housing estate you can be sure living great but this wealth are mostly control by political leaders and BD individuals......if you're blessed enough begins to occupy property's that can sure your next generation... In my country Nigeria if you don't have any of this properties forget yourself, you will end up making life mortgage and tenancy. Land never depreciates it keeps buying higher that's why I considered it the best investment. What do you think?
Yes, collecting landed estate or property is certainly a good investment as its value continue to appreciate especially if it’s located in the heart of a city. That will give a passive income especially if you are using that property for business. Unlike other investment that could easily depreciate its value like stocks or cryptocurrencies once its market is affected by some inevitable factors, landed property prices will continue to surge high especially if the site is ideal for commercial.
1188  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Without money, the knowledge is a waste on: June 23, 2023, 07:54:10 AM
Indeed, both knowledge and money are crucial for advancing and establishing your empire. Without either one, progress becomes difficult to achieve. This is particularly true when it comes to cryptocurrencies, as money plays a vital role. While it is possible to earn some income through leveraging your knowledge in marketing or other areas, the potential for substantial earnings is limited. To seize the opportunity to invest in cryptocurrencies at the right moment, having sufficient funds is imperative. Unfortunately, I missed out on accumulating assets during this bear market because I lacked the necessary funds.
You’re on point mate. While knowledge is substantial for a successful investing or trading, having sufficient amount of funds is undeniably of high importance too as you can’t initiate your first buy if you don’t have the means for that. So having knowledge without enough resources to invest is certainly pointless. I would even prioritize to obtain a lot of funds at first so I can start investing and just start learning throughout my experiences in the crypto market. That way, there’s no reason I would still missed golden opportunities in the crypto market.
1189  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Gambling is different from trading on: June 23, 2023, 07:27:23 AM
Trading and gambling are two different things. Trading is done by using your skills to analyze the market and buy any coin at the right time and sell that coin at a profit. Gambling is betting on something with money to win or lose is usually called gambling. Gambling can be done on various online platforms. Bets can be placed on the win or loss of other sports including football cricket matches. Gambling is more risky than trading. In gambling one has to depend a lot on luck but in trading one does not have to depend on luck as trading has to be done entirely on one's own skill.

Yes, both are different though both carry the risk of losing money and have the same goal of making a profit. To make a profit in trading, you need to converge many factors such as knowledge, skills, experience, and news... but saying that trading without luck is not true. Whether you invest, business, or trade, luck is always essential. That's why you see many people who have good knowledge, good skills, and rich experience but never succeed in life because they are unlucky. Luck is something we can't learn, can't buy, can't see, but it's an integral part of anyone's success.
You’re right mate. Luck is essential in both gambling and trading, as one cannot end up trading successfully if there’s no certain luck on the trader. However, while gambling needs a lot of luck to be profitable, trading on the other side requires a combination of luck and skill. An ideal trader needs to make a long time research and develop analytical skills so he can easily read and deal with the different chart patterns that could affect how the market moves. While gambling requires no preparation at all, as long as you see positivity on your bet, then you can start gambling at your own risk.
1190  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How being open to ideas and comments help you learn? on: June 22, 2023, 09:50:58 PM
Some people don't want to be teach by someone responding with hate when they were corrected by people who knows more about something, in return they learn nothing and stuck with little knowledge that they thought they know it all,
Tips on how you will learn along they way, and be on track with crypto currency and also in real life scenario.
  • Be open to comments by others accept and learn from it
  • Don't get mad or upset when they correct you when you make mistakes
  • Always be hungry to learn
  • Apply and test what they have told you
  • Surround yourself with people who are not greedy with information
  • Distance yourself with negative people, they will pull you down with them
  • Share what you learn from others let it be a cycle of learning, to help others also, remember people never hesitate to help you to learn, you should also do the same.
if you have something in mind please don't hesitate to add
Know that learning will only happen if you don’t resist it, so you have to be more open on new suggestions and comments that you think that will make your learning more relevant. Otherwise, you will be stuck with your old and limited knowledge which is not a good thing at all. And by accepting learning, it’s your responsibility too to share what you have gained, and that’s a cycle that we should take part to so we can also inspire others to learn.
1191  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The green shouldn't always be the reason to enter the market on: June 22, 2023, 09:19:52 PM
If you are doing research before you enter the market, you should know that the best time for market entry is when the prices are red, and certainly not green. That is because you can always maximize your bitcoin accumulation when they are sale at a bargain price, unlike when you start buying them at already a high price. If you are doing the opposite way, then never expect for you to be profitable in your investment, but instead expect for a loss especially if you are not patient enough to wait for its price recovery the moment their prices have declined.
1192  Economy / Economics / Re: Is poverty a lack of money? on: June 22, 2023, 08:56:37 PM
In summary when you have everything you need to survive and you don't need money, are you poor?

Someone with background in finances will tell you that it's a lack of money, someone with a degree in economics will say it's a lack of resources to satisfy basic needs, I say it's lack of knowledge, skill and opportunities.
You don't need money, but you either need skill, so that you can steal or persuade other people to give you what you need, or you need an opportunity.
I've earned a lot of money through an opportunity because someone told me to research bitcoin and I did, got hooked and it became the best investment of my life. I know people who are wealthy because, for instance, they married into a wealthy family - which again is skill and opportunity combined.
Well, poverty is certainly a lack of not just money but also those different resources that an individual needs to survive. Once you find it hard to provide these in your life, I think you are somehow experiencing poverty. But as long as you know how to use your knowledge and take advantage of every opportunity that comes your way, then you can always put poverty into its end. After all, you are the only one responsible for the outcome of your life.
1193  Economy / Speculation / Re: Take advantage of the price fall. on: June 22, 2023, 08:23:01 PM
Yes, I have seen many people fear about the price fall. They always panic and complains about the price drop of the coins. They don’t see the opportunity here. Price drop is literally like a boon for the investors. In this price drops, the price becomes low and hence we get the opportunity to buy these high priced coins in literally cheap price. We know these coins are limited in number, hence without complaining just accumulate as many coins as you can in this cheap price and hold for some time to see great profits.
True. Some have even resort into making wrong decisions by selling their coins at a loss. Without knowing that instead of panicking and complaining, it’s a great opportunity to accumulate more of the coins since they are sale at a bargain price. And mostly those who behave like this are those who enter the market just for greed, not realizing that it could lead them into losses than attracting profits instead.
1194  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbies Stop Teaching When You Need To Learn. on: June 21, 2023, 09:48:04 PM
As an individual, your eagerness to help and share what you have is always our best asset. But did you know that we can only give and best influence others if we are giving them the best version of us. That is the reason why newbies instead of teaching other newbies to learn, just focus on yourself first. Be more encourage to learn and embrace new ideas that will help you grow as an individual and as a member in the forum. Otherwise, your best potentials will never be seen in you especially if your focus is on other people and not on yourself.
1195  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Earning online more preferable than offline? on: June 21, 2023, 09:27:17 PM
Earning money online is far superior to working at a physical establishment during the day. Although offline is highly appreciated and difficult. Trading is a great approach to find your true self. It will put everything to the test, including your greed, emotions, patience, discipline, how you handle failure, control, common sense, and resolve. I strongly advise anyone who is going through a terrible time in their life to learn to trade since it provides them a clear sense of purpose other than waiting for jobs. So, which is better, online or offline?
I cannot say that trading online is way more profitable than an offline job especially for those who are only trading with limited knowledge and skills. But if we can keep our job and do trading as our side hustle, I guess we will come to maximize our income. There’s no need to chose actually as both are profitable if we do it to the best of our capabilities, but working on them both will certainly make our life create big changes especially when it comes to our finances.
1196  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Crypto another form of gambling? on: June 21, 2023, 08:52:10 PM
I was kinda surprised when I read the news from Financial Times that the cross-section of the UK's MPs that seems to see it as needless to regulate cryptocurrency suggested that it should be viewed as "a form of gambling" and be regulated as such.

Without relying on my own understanding of "gambling," I quickly used the help of the Oxford Dictionary through Google, and it states;

1. Play games of chance for money; bet.
2. Take risky action in the hope of a desired result.

The second one seems to fit crypto best, so it's clear they know what they are saying.

Now, do you agree that crypto should be seen as a form of gambling? And if this eventually comes through, what should we expect as the constraints it might still bring to the crypto space?
Crypto may be considered a form of gambling for those who are taking risk unknowingly. Since they are not aware on how to deal with it and knows nothing about risk management, then most likely everything will fall into gambling. But for everyone who has high knowledge and made lot of experiences from crypto, knowing it gives certain profits as long as you do it will skills and working strategies, then it’s too far from the outcome of gambling.
1197  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Nigerian Father Rejects Son's Gambling Win on: June 19, 2023, 09:54:00 PM
Right! He needs his father now more than ever to guide him and steer him towards the right direction so that he will not be in an unwanted situations because the boy now has enough money to do what he wants and just because he's just a boy even though his age is already legal to do some things, he can still do some things that the father could not imagine as they money he have now can make him steer into a different direction that is different from the father's teachings.
Fathers are the best presents to children because they lead and provide stable pathways for the youngster to explore in the modern world. Gambling without the knowledge of the parents implies that the youngster has been betting for a long time, most likely winning the Lotto and attempting to celebrate with his father; perhaps the occurrence caught his father off guard; I understand where his guardian is coming from. Winning such a large sum of money through gambling is one of the first steps toward escaping poverty. Finally, the finance balance has been activated, and the primary objective is to shoot solid targets.

Considering that the boy was able to gamble all by himself is already a good reason to do it himself and decide for himself whether he will gamble for entertainment or for whatever reason or not. Respect is always on the table even if he caught his father off-guard by handing him that huge sum without any knowledge that he's been into gambling for quite some time already, what I don't understand is, due to the lack of information by the OP, why did the father rejected it. Is it because of their religion? Or because the father is very strict when it comes to gambling? As he knows for sure that it's very addictive especially if it's not used properly.
1198  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you trade altcoins during the bull run or just hodl? on: June 19, 2023, 09:41:00 PM

During the bullrun season of course we just trade it because if you trade you can accumulate your favorite altcoins,
so that there are more of them and sell them when they reach a new all time high, but if we choose hodl, then our altcoins are just that.
if you accumulate these altcoins and increase the number of coins, your profit will be much more.

That will be a huge mistake instead of hodling it down and wait for the bull to run next year or in the next few couple of months, you should know that holding and trading is different because even if the goal is the same, the outcome will not be the same if you will try to trade what you have during the hold season because there's never a guarantee that the price will wait for you until you're done with you goal. My advise is, separate your portfolio from the ones you want to trade and from the ones you wanted to hold.
1199  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 19, 2023, 09:21:15 PM
[....]
Last season before it started, it was the Boston Celtics deemed as the favorite to crown as champions and it stayed that way until the end of the regular season. I wonder which team would be favored in the next season. At the current rosters, my bet is on Denver Nuggets the defending champions, or the Phoenix Suns. With Beal, the Suns once again have 4 All-Star starters and looked stronger than the previous season.

I am pretty sure that there are many teams that are interested in Chris Paul. A buyout is very possible knowing that the current Wizards team is not at the same level as the other top teams. And if I were Christ Paul, I will spend my last years in the NBA on a serious team as much as possible.
Celtics will still be up there as one of the favorites. How about taking CP3 in exchange of Smart? I think that will be a good deal for both teams since Wizards will likely let go of him anyway. Celtics will get a real point guard and a veteran at that to finally push this team. Chris Paul should have no problem in this since he'll be in a good team while Tatum and Brown will benefit from his mentorship.

That should be good if the Wizards will just accept a 1:1 trade for Marcus Smart in exchange for Chris Paul towards the Boston Celtics, but I really doubt that though because even if the latter is not the player he used to be, he still have a good figure in his head and that could really cost the Celtics some few picks or at least players just to get Chris Paul on their line up. Overall, it will be big help for the team if they are able to get CP3.
1200  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would Bitcoin Be Badly Hurt if Binance Goes Down? on: June 19, 2023, 08:24:21 PM
I actually think that if Binance really does fall for whatever they're going through, then there's going to be another exchange that makes it big in the crypto space with a lot more users. Because users who used to use Binance will definitely move to use other exchanges that are no less good than Binance even though the effects caused by this are not wanted by many people, which might result in a decline in the price of cryptocurrencies.

This is true.  There will always be other exchanges. But then it might lead to more troubles because people will now start using various exchanges and they might not know which is trustworthy and which is not. For an exchange to be as big as Binance, it will take time. It takes time to build trust, especially the kind of trust that Binance has built with its customers.

If Binance completely does down, it will affect Bitcoin price but that's all it will do. I don't believe it will go below $16k though.

That is very much expected if any big exchanges will have some troubles and worse shut down, especially if it's Binance who have already been trusted by the public. But all of this will be temporary and the prices may go down for quite some time while investors are still figuring out a way to find another trustworthy exchange that can replace the Binance, after that, there will be a correction that will restore the order and so the prices will rise again after the doubts.
