122  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How much knowledge is enough to satisfy an individual on: January 25, 2024, 01:55:12 PM
All of us is greedy and hunger of information and knowledge, we will only be satisfied when we die. I think the reason is because just by living our daily life in a very casual and common way, problem will still come and these problems require us to seek for knowledge and information so we can solve those problems, and as I said before every living being has problem, all of our problem will only be solve and stop when we die, thus we don't have to gain knowledge and information anymore.
123  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are these P2P crypto platforms SCAM? on: January 25, 2024, 01:48:28 PM
I am kind of new to the crypto era, and I am wondering if any of these P2P platforms scammed or legit?

- Paxful
- Bybit
- OKX
- Phemex
- Bitget

On those lists, I have only used Paxful for several times, my experience is actually mixed, it is not always smooth, I encounter several problems where my BTC is not deposited into my wallet instantly but at the end of the day their customer support could solve my problem, but their respond is not always quick, so if you are in hurry I wouldn't recommended it. I usually use Binance P2P but since the money laundering issue, I tend to avoid doing any business with Binance, but in my experience using Binance P2P, most of the time it goes seamless, and when I got some trouble their support is usually quick in solving my problem.
124  Economy / Economics / Re: The 150 year old maths and logic theory on the best period to make money: on: January 25, 2024, 01:40:59 PM
Do you really believe that the guy, who created this "infograph" 150 years ago can successfully predict what will happen to the global economy in 2035 or 2053? Even "math and logic" can't predict everything. All this sounds like nonsense to me. This guy tried to prove by using math and logic, that the stock markets are cyclic. 150 years ago, the Federal Reserve didn't exist. Nowadays, the Federal Reserve has a major influence over all financial markets. Did this guy predict the creation of the Federal Reserve?
What mathematical equations did he use, in order to prove his theory? I'm not a math guy, so I can't tell whether his theory is legit or a total BS. It seems more like BS to me.

I do agree that we shouldn't completely believe this theory, but if the data is true, and the pattern is actually repeated it will be more like technical analysis of an investment market. The this kind of theory just like a technical analysis of a market is not a 100% true prediction but because there are repetition of pattern, people conduct a study, and then form a theory, examine it, review by peers and then agreed by a group of people that there is a repetition of pattern and it can be used to make an educated guess.

But I do have same concern that the theory might need to be re-examine because it has been 150 years and a lot has happened financial world is also evolving.
125  Economy / Economics / Re: The productive capacities of an individual to the society. on: January 25, 2024, 03:27:46 AM
~
Am I correct to assume that OP is talking about the ability of someone's independence (or being able to not rely on the government for example) equals capability?

I think so, I thought of same thing too, but honestly the OP's point in his post is a bit vague. Or maybe I am the one who don't understand

Even though it is true that every individual is responsible for their own success, but government policy significantly affect how much opportunity we can get. For example if government put an extremely strict rule for business investment there would be less opportunity for the people because rich people would hesitant to put their money into business which make less job available.

127  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Islamic Coin- the Shariah-Compliant Digital Money for the HAQQ Ecosystem ! on: January 21, 2024, 09:56:00 PM
There has been many Islamic related cryptocurrency that claiming they are Shariah-Compliant most of them are failed. I wonder why people keep trying to use Islam to sell crypto, I think most muslim won't care about it, in as long as it's not against any rules in Quran and not harming any people everything is Mubah/Permitted, crypto included. No need to add 'Shariah-Compliant' to it, it will just make it sound exclusive to muslim and reach less people.
128  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How Crypto scammers creating traps to break the system security on: January 21, 2024, 09:49:10 PM

Man, your site has a lot of annoying ads, so I decided to do google search of my own about this Phemedrone Stealer. This malware is using Windows Defender flaw so anyone who are not using Windows OS is supposed to be safe. And also this is an opensource and even has it's Github page, https://github.com/nullixx/Phemedrone-Stealer. This will make easier for Windows Defender developer to quickly fix the flaw or to update their security.

130  Economy / Economics / Re: How do you consider the prospects of global economy in 2024? on: January 21, 2024, 01:52:57 PM
On the other hand, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) is of the opinion that due to trade barriers in various countries, production will decrease, resulting in lower income economies suffering more.

Do you think the economy will be stronger in 2024 or could it be weaker?

Well, I don't know, but I couldn't imagine any scenario where 2024 could be worse than 2023 because for me 2023 was extremely difficult. I work in advertising industry and even during and shortly after pandemic (2021-2022) ads industry is still booming, everyone still needs ads, but 2023 it is really bad, even big corporation was reducing (some even put 0) on their advertising and marketing budget. My agency lose many regular client.
But it's starting to get better this early year, not in a big leap, but still an improvement. So, I have quite positive, and good hope for 2024.
131  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wrong perspective towards Bitcoin investment on: January 21, 2024, 01:42:21 PM
If he could spend $80 without doing any research and just hand-over his money to random website, I guess he shouldn't be so angry if he was being scammed. If it was me, doesn't matter what is the site telling me wether Bitcoin, Genie, some Real-estate, or stock, if it ask me to deposit $80 I will do deep research before decided to give my money. Those guy might think that $80 is just a loose change and not some big money, so he he would just give away his money without any research, because with just a quick research he would find that most of cloud mining are scam.
132  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: CRYPTO SCAM? on: January 21, 2024, 01:34:09 PM
Well, my condolence for your fund, but the first time I clicked on your link I got this warning from Metamask,

So it means that you are not the first or the only person that got scammed, and then when I continue to the site it immediately asked me to connect to my metamask wallet, so if you have done some trading, you should have connected your metamask wallet and received those warning before hand. Either you don't understand/you dont read the warning, or you just ignored that warning, either way, I wish you can learn the some lesson from this misfortune.
133  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin portfolio on: January 21, 2024, 02:32:38 AM
In short term AVAX and LINK is good choice, they have been doing so much in recent year there should be time for them to shine. I would also suggest you to look on Aptoslabs, a good project with solid community and development. For long term there is a good chance there will be new crypto trend maybe a Layer 2 Blockchain or something that could help already existing coin to scale up.

Ethereum obviously is a good choice but I assume you already have it, it's like the top of mind for altcoins, I also usually suggest BNB but with recent cases occur, BNB is still on my watch but I wouldn't buy it.
134  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Trend or long term projects? on: January 21, 2024, 02:27:54 AM
In more traditional investment like stock long term usually means 5 year or more, and I would never let money sit on an altcoins more than 2 years, let alone 5 years, it is too risky. I usually sell before 1 year, or at least will take some profit on those time frame. Even the highest marketcap altcoin like Ethereum is still too risky for me to put my money more than 2 years.

But that's just my opinion, on the other hand I know some people who hold altcoin more than 3 years and they gain a lot of profit, but most of them are big investor, they wouldn't budge even if their asset value down 30% or more.
135  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin create an opportunity to reduce poverty? on: January 20, 2024, 10:25:37 PM
So there are two questions here,
1. Can Bitcoin create opportunity?

Definitely, anything new will create opportunity, Bitcoin directly/indirectly has create a new Industry a Blockchain & Crypto Industry. I know that Blockchain and Crypto has been exist before Bitcoin but the industry only emerge after Bitcoin gain popularity. With new industry there are more business opportunity and thus it create job opportunity.

2. Can bitcoin reduce poverty.

It might but it won't be significant, there are deep structural and systemic problems that cause poverty, 1% of people are richer than the 99% combined, the cycle of poverty lead to lack of education, lack of education lead to less low income job, low income job lead to poverty and so on and so forth, Bitocin alone will not solve these problems.
136  Economy / Speculation / Re: What are your expectations for the few weeks after the halving period? on: January 20, 2024, 10:05:00 PM
I don't think the Bitcoin price would be skyrocketing immediately in the first few weeks after halving, on the contrary we already see some bullish trend right now, and this people who is entering the market at this moment could try to take their profit on the event of halving, people might massively sell their Bitcoin shortly after halving, thus the Bitcoin price might get correction on that time.
137  Economy / Economics / Re: Why Bitcoin is the only crypto you should BUY on: January 20, 2024, 10:00:43 PM
If we looking for a coin that is reliable, stable (compared to other cryptocurrency) and proven for safe speculation and investment then I do agree that Bitcoin is the only worthy coin to buy, it has been here for more than 14 Years, and the price keep increasing. But out-there there are so many cryptocurrencies that actually has useful utility and dApp, and not everyone buy crypto just to speculate and invest some actually buy it for the utility. The problem would be the number of those useful altcoins is extremely small compared to the shitty ones, so to invest in altcoins we will need to find needle in haystack.
138  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Island in the Philippines. on: January 20, 2024, 01:34:18 PM
I live in neighboring country of Philippines but this is actually the first time I have ever heard of Boracay Island, I have been to Thailand and Vietnam, but I think (at least) for me and my peers we never thought that Philippines as a tourist destination. And if this is actually true that there is an island where most (if not all) of the merchant is accepting Bitcoin, it could attract more tourist, at least from the neighboring country in SEA because from what I know, crypto is huge and keep growing in this area. And this could be a marketing material, since there is not much marketing and ads about Philippines tourism.
139  Economy / Economics / Re: Passion for skills. on: January 20, 2024, 01:28:26 PM
I would like to learn how to cook, I came from place where there are thousands of cuisine but my cooking skill is very limited, and I really regret that. I don't have the time to learn cooking because I need to work and to make money, not that I didn't love my job, I like it too. The only skills that allow me to get money to fulfill my need is my job as graphic designer, it's getting harder nowadays because we have instant design app and AI, but I still manage fortunately.

I think aside of all the technical skills that we can learn in like a course or education, there are also other skills like social skills or soft-skills, that we learn by socializing and learning from experience, either our own experience or other people's experiences. This social skills or soft-skill will help us reach more people and market ourself.
140  Economy / Economics / Re: Thoughts on service-for-asset exchange model. on: January 20, 2024, 08:45:36 AM
I think it only applicable if the service was a high-skilled and the asset also came with big responsibility, for example a person could only ask for stock payment if he is willing and have the ability to become at least executive director, board, or higher. If the person only have the ability to become like manager or below I don't think the people have leverage to ask for asset as payment. Mainly because those position will not be affected directly by companies condition, in most company their financial condition will only affect higher position like CEO, or Board, and will have less effect on low-level position
