@zasad@. However, if they do nothing and the SEC begins winning against Uniswap, Coinbase and other decentralized exchanges, similar to our argument before, the SEC can start requiring the cryptospace protocols to register with the government to get a broker license, a license to hold assets similar to a bank and for users they will demand KYC for each wallet used. This will certainly kill the purpose of DeFi.
122  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: UFC Fighter Renato Moicano Wants Bonus Paid in Bitcoin on: April 19, 2024, 05:40:55 AM
I'm not sure what everyone here thinks but I have to tell you that Renato Moicano, the UFC dude tweeted that he wants his 300k bonus in bitcoin.

Now besides beating people up in the Octagon, the guy knows his money stuff. I think it is cool to see someone from outside the finance and tech field talk about bitcoin. It might not be groundbreaking but I am going to be cheering on every new person who supports bitcoin. I am hoping that down the road we'll see more UFC fighters getting paid in bitcoin, either in full or in part.

I don't think he supports Bitcoin, he wants to get his money in Bitcoins because to promote himself. He is a fighter, he won the fight and tweets on X that he wants money in Bitcoins. Media will see that tweet and will publish articles about how UFC Fighter demands his prize to be paid in Bitcoins. If you type that you want 300K bonus in cash or on bank account, no media will write an article about you. That's just my personal opinion but I would also love to say that even if he doesn't support Bitcoin (I think so), it still is good for making Bitcoin popular because there might be some of his fans who will hear word Bitcoin from this tweet and will get interested into it.

You might be correct. However, on what is happening in the country of Brazil, I speculate that what he said during the interview on learning about Austrian economics and Ludwig Von Mises is real. But if he is not really promoting bitcoin, what he has said in the interview will make many people research about bitcoin and the cryptospace. This will certainly help pump our investments hehehehehee.

In any case, in Brazil it appears that there are speculations that de Moraes intefered with their election. These occurrences are causing people like Renato Moicano to speak.

Late last night, the Judiciary Committee of the U.S. House of Representatives released over 500 pages of confidential Brazilian court documents relating to censorship demands on X, formerly Twitter. The Committee had obtained them from X through its subpoena powers.

The documents show a single Superior Electoral Court (TSE) Justice, Alexandre de Moraes, demanding permanent bans on over 150 elected officials and journalists. De Moraes demanded these bans in secret processes, without explanation or means of appeal, and across social media platforms. Given the dependence of elected leaders on social media, these demands for bans may constitute electoral interference.
In one case, De Moraes demanded that all major social media platforms, including at least one, Twitter, which did not publish the offending material, ban a federal Congressman, Marcel Van Hattem. The TSE had claimed that Van Hattem had criticized the election results. Not only had Van Hattan’s video not been related to the elections, but it was also a criticism of the Labor Department. It was released one day before the election.

In many ways, Brazil’s sweeping censorship system is unique to Brazil. Brazil’s Censorship Industrial Complex is located in the judiciary rather than in the executive branch, as it is in Europe, in the European Commission, and the U.S., in the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, National Science Foundation, and other agencies.

123  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Devin Haney vs Ryan Garcia on April 20 on: April 19, 2024, 04:35:29 AM
And so with the tickets not selling, Ryan has to go troll Haney again with this kind of words, Lol,

https://twitter.com/RyanGarcia/status/1780276293021372912

Ryan though, you really don't know what's inside of that mind. There were moments he look serious and everything he says is good. Then majority are like this one, most likely he just want to be controversial and to create more hype because if the news is true that they are not selling tickets, then he has to do something to carry the load and bring it to the masses or at least put some noises again.

Just when you think Ryan Garcia can’t get anymore cringeworthy, he comes out with a dumb statement like this. These guys are only turning fans away from boxing with these antics. The way they are promoting this fight has been disastrous. It is no wonder there are still so many tickets available. Ryan needs to be psychiatrically evaluated before he is allowed to fight for a world championship.
I agree, the more he promoted this fight with his absurd actions, the more fans might not want to see. I even saw those fans online saying that they are going to boycott the fight? Like this,

https://twitter.com/RayJack97010720/status/1780637091266801928

Although that fan is a troll as well for all I know, it could be true that there could be fans not wanting to buy tickets because of Ryan Garcia's antics. I think they will be evaluated physically and mentally, it's just the question whether he could pass the test or not.

Do not be tricked by this boycott. This is only part of another marketing roadmap that they use to make more people more curious for this fight hehehe. I reckon that after King Ry's loss against Tank Davis, he needed to create a new personality for himself to make the fans react and talk about Ryan. This boycott implies that it is working! I very much wish Ryan will reach the decision and make the fight a split decision. This will certainly make fans question the capability of Devin Haney.
124  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Largest DEX receives wells notice from the SEC on: April 19, 2024, 03:19:42 AM
@zasad@. An agreement will only put everything on the cryptospace into a legal grey area. If uncle Gary's decisions are to always attack the cryptospace by regulation through enforcement, it will certainly be much better to go to trial and get a judge's ruling. I predict Hayden will not listen to the SEC and he is ready to go to court with his lawyers. We can be quite certain that he expected this already.

How Ripple can help Uniswap in its clash against the SEC

What lessons should Uniswap take from Ripple’s resilience amidst the SEC’s rising scrutiny?

@Hueristic. Agreed. His success has caused him to have forgotten how he has arrived in his success. This is a very strange behavior. However, he has a new young girlfriend. This might retire him hehehehe.

In any case, NFL draft has odds for betting in Duelbits! It might also be available in your favorite sportsbooks.

NFL experts in this thread, how can we make money from this? Please share your best bets heheheheh.
126  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Devin Haney vs Ryan Garcia on April 20 on: April 18, 2024, 03:40:17 AM
And Haney got his revenge,

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7HzBqdKmXuY

Before it was Ryan Garcia who smuck Haney in their first encounter, and now that the fight is official, they have this face off at Empire State and then this happens. You can see the face of Oscar though, concerned about what happened but Garcia just shrug it off and just love the animosity between them.

The winner of this encounter is the person who did not make the first push. It was was certainly Ryan Garcia because he did not get angry and he manipulated to make Haney angry. However, we can also be quite certain that it will be different in the boxing ring hehehe. I wish Derrick James trained King Ry to have a chance. I do not want a fight that is something similar to the scam Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia.
127  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Nery For Undisputed 122lbs Title - May on: April 18, 2024, 03:17:17 AM
@Baofeng. I reckon Inoue should not fight against someone without a big name. This thread is only 4 pages, however, the scam ICO fight of Mike Tyson and Jake Paul is more than 5 pages already hehehe. Why is this? This certainly implies that Inoue has not yet reached the same type of popularity like Pacman. Also, Inoue's fight is in Japan? He should begin to fight his championship defenses in as Vegas the fight capital of the world. There will also be more money in his purse if he will fight in Las Vegas.

Maybe the interest of people is less for their fight since there's no clear indication before that their fight would proceed but since right now the discussions towards their fight against Nery is floating up and there is a schedule has been  set that's why maybe he give an update regarding on this match.

But for saying he's doesn't have the same popularity as Pacman then we can agree to that. Some people compare him to the legend but in reality his so far to achieve that. He select his opponent and he didn't go out on his comfort zone. But if he can able to go to US to fight those big names on industry and get an outstanding win maybe those people who doubt about his legacy will totally agree that he's the nearest boxer who can break the record of Pacman or maybe became more better.

I very much agree on Pacman choosing on any opponent without being afraid of receiving a loss. The knockout he received from Juan Manuel Marquez would be enough to cause many boxers retire. However, this has only made Pacman stronger and win more championships in the welterweight division.

@Baofeng. Tank will be big for him, however. Also, he uses the contract agreements to get an advantage vs. his opponents. Naoya should not fight a man like him. The fight I would like to watch for Naoya next is Brandion Figueroa in the Featherweight division hehehe.
128  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Tornado cash founders charged with money laundering/sanctions violations on: April 18, 2024, 02:47:28 AM
So I don't know whether Binance will restore my account. However, it seems pretty risky to use any kind of mixer. Either the government or centralised exchanges will catch up.
They cannot know that the money comes from the mixer, but their verification algorithms will try to freeze any account they suspect, especially if the mixers are of the Tornado Cash type, where there is a Contract Address. Therefore, if you want to enhance your privacy, it is better to use Bitcoin mixers, or at least exchange Bitcoin to Monero and then Back again to Bitcoin.

Contact Binance. They will ask you for the source of the funds. If you are able to prove their source, the account will be restored.

I very much disagree that they cannot know if the money comes from the mixer. Do not use a mixer if your exchange is Binance! Different regulators from different jurisdictions have been pressuring Binance already after CZ was forced to admit that there was moneylaundering that have occured in the exchange. They will certainly be much stricter this time. If you assume that they do not know your coins went through a mixer, prepare to have your accounts and funds frozen.
129  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Largest DEX receives wells notice from the SEC on: April 18, 2024, 02:06:23 AM
@zasad@. I wish there will be a trial. Similar to Ripple's case, the cryptospace needs another precedent to limit uncle Gary's regulation through enforcement tactic. Also, we need another market pump hheheehhe.

However, if the judge rules for the case of the SEC and declares that Uniswap should stop allowing American citizens from using the DEX, what can the government do if a person inside the American jurisdiction uses a VPN and continue trading on Uniswap? How can the SEC stop self custody of their tokens?

News update, Stefanie Diggs was traded to the Houston Texans. According to many news articles, he is a drama queen. However, with him we might witness another good season for the Texans and with CJ Stroud becoming a strong candidate for MVP during NFL 2024 regular season hehehe. Fantasy managers, will CJ Stroud be your qb1?

Star wide receiver Stefon Diggs has been traded from the Buffalo Bills to the Houston Texans, the Bills announced on Wednesday.

Buffalo receives a 2025 second-round draft pick in exchange for Diggs, while the 30-year-old heads to Texas along with a 2024 sixth-round pick (No. 189 overall) and a 2025 fifth-round pick.

@Rikafip. Agreed. Tyler Sheridan also directed a good action movie about the rape and death of an American Indian teenager, Wind River starring Hawkeye and the Scarletwitch from the Avengers hehhe. Sicario 2 producers have certainly made a mistake on hiring the Italian spaghetti western director to direct Sicario 2. Tyler Sheridan might have been better for this, I reckon.

I will remove 2024 from the title and keep this thread unlocked for my bet against @Saint-loup.

It is also very head shaking that the boxing fans in this forum are more excited to watch an old man fight against a youtuber from Disney. I am like this also hehehehehe. Boxing should use more money to promote fights between the best boxers of the highest ranks. However, I reckon this sport is presently not on being the best boxer anymore. This has become a sport for attention and money only. It is difficult for the fans to witness who is the best in this sport.

@TravelMug. I very much agree. Devin Haney appears to not have pillow fists in this higher weight division heheheh.

133  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Largest DEX receives wells notice from the SEC on: April 17, 2024, 02:04:16 AM
Just to play devil's advocate here, is it truly a DEX if it has a Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer?  This is a company.  I don't believe that's the correct platform in which to pursue the notion of a decentralised exchange.  A DEX in its truest form should be purely a protocol, not a commercial entity.  Some open-source software a user can run which will connect them peer-to-peer to other users, nothing more.  Just like Bitcoin.  The moment you try and make it a business, you can (and probably will) be under the microscope of numerous regulatory bodies.

Notice how Uniswap has "employees".  Bitcoin has "contributors".  Bitcoin is not a company and is therefore highly resistant to regulation.  Companies, by comparison, easily crumble under the weight of government pressure.

DEXes cannot be regulated like CEXes. It is technically not possible. Gary is just bored at this point and lashing out at whatever.

The moment they formed a company, they made it possible.  Uniswap Labs is a company.  Companies get regulated.

They screwed up.

However, is there really an official CEO if the DEX is not a registered company? Hayden Adams is the founder and developer of the development company that created an open source software project very much similar to many projects in the cryptospace. I can however understand the argument if the DEX is centralized or decentralized very much similar to the argument if bitcoin presently is centralized or decentralized.

In any case, uncle Gary and the SEC's lawsuit will answer many questions and this will be a very exciting development for the cryptospace that will create very important predecents.
134  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ POLL ] The Unification Fight: FURY vs USYK 18th MAY 2024 re-scheduled on: April 16, 2024, 05:45:30 AM
On the press conference, Tyson Fury has certainly made a very good argument on size and why being bigger is certainly always better in boxing if the fight is between fighters of similar measure of capabilities.

But similar measures of capabilities is hardly found in boxing. Boxers mostly have individual characteristics. But despite this, despite the difference, size really matters. Size is a big factor. I agree with Fury that size really matters. It can't be brushed off as a negligible advantage. After all size isn't just size. It could mean strength, power, reach advantage, height advantage, etc. All these matters so much in boxing.

In this particular bout, although I'm also a fan of Usyk, I don't think it's hard to predict that Tyson is probably winning.

I mention similar measure of capabilities implying that they are in top 5 in their weight division. This does not need to be 100% similar measure, there will be differences like you mentioned. However yes, the argument is if Fury and Usyk is compared to someone who has not fought a big name in the heavyweight division would clealy imply that it is not in a similar measure.

In any case, agreed on your prediction. Tyson Fury also will be quicker for the fight after his diet from beer and junk food hehee.

@hilariousetc. Is Tyson Fury doing something similar as Muhammad Ali where he confuses his enemies before the fight?

Not sure what you mean by this, but I don't see Fury confusing Usyk here, on the contrary, in that press conference, he says that a big men will always beat the smaller one and size matters. So obviously he is stating that he is going to beat Usyk because he is the bigger and better boxer.

And with his size, it can also be used as a tool, in the Wilder fight, Fury has a weight advantage of 42 lbs, and if he weight this much here, it will be clearly like a CW in Usyk, fighting a super Heavyweight and it will illustrate in this fight as he will used all that to push Usyk and put him in the corner.

Have you seen the pictures where it showed that Tyson Fury has presently lost much weight? He might weigh 20 pounds lighter or more for this fight, I reckon. He has declared that size matters implying that he will use this, however, during the time of the fight I speculate that we might see a slender and sexy Tyson Fury who will float like a butterfly similar to Muhammad Ali hehehehe. Also, Tyson's bee stings might be stronger than Muhammad Ali's bee stings hehehe.

News update. Spot ETF for Bitcoin and Ethereum approved hehehehe.

It appears what has been speculated and predicted by some people in this forum has become true again heheheh. The next prediction will be Shanghai to open their jurisdiction and welcome the cryptospace by first introducing Hong Kong's Bitcoin and Ethereum spot ETF in their market. I speculate that the bullishness of this news will be witnessed within 3 months after the halving.

136  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Devin Haney vs Ryan Garcia on April 20 on: April 15, 2024, 04:46:51 AM
@Distinctin. I very much agree. Also, I give more respect to King Ry because he was not getting an advantage through the contract terms. Tank Davis should not be a respected boxer because he only wants money and a sure win in boxing. He is not in this sport to create a legacy. He does not deserve our money, he is similar to an ICO scammer.

Has everyone witnessed the fight of Max Holloway vs. Justin Gaethje on UFC 300? Max and Justin deserves much respect! They are real fighters who go through the storm. I wish we will witness something similar for Haney vs. King Ry hehehehe. But this will be impossible.
137  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 Oscar Awards bets and discussions on: April 15, 2024, 03:49:14 AM
On Dune 3, he has already mentioned that the script is ready, however, he also mentioned that he wants to rest from the Dune universe and make another type movie. I speculate this to be Sicario 2. I also very much like to see this hehehe. I predict Dune 3 might arrive in 5 years.
Since rest of Dune books are pretty crappy (I mean after Messiah), no wonder that he is not interested in making more movies, and I hope no one else will. Regarding Sicario, I don't know if you missed it, but there is already Sicario 2, released back in 2018.

Btw, I saw yesterday Dune 2 for the 2nd time (decent rip is finally out) and I have to say that first part was still better for me. Good luck with your bet, but I think that chances of you winning are quite low and it will be a bad film year if that ends as a best movie we saw this year. Another thing that doesn't help it is the release date, which is way too early meaning it will be very expensive to create Oscar hype once again.

I reckon this Sicario Rise of the soldado was not the real Sicario 2 that Denis Villenueve would have created. This Rise of the soldado is a frighfully ugly created movie to continue the story of Sicario. There are rumors that Denis Villenueve will fix this with Sicario: Capo. This is an unconfirmed rumor, however.

@Saint-loup. Yes of course hehehehehe! We agree I bet $50 and you bet $500 for the terms of the bet that has been mentioned? I will make it less painful for you heheheheeh.
138  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Largest DEX receives wells notice from the SEC on: April 15, 2024, 02:25:38 AM
Not only is this another frivilous lawsuit, but it will go nowhere, same as with Ripple (XRP). DEXes cannot be regulated like CEXes. It is technically not possible. Gary is just bored at this point and lashing out at whatever.

Gary Gensler's claims that the existing securities laws are sufficient to police crypto but obviously he is comparing apples to oranges at this point.

There is a precedent on tokens already. It has been ruled by a judge that the tokens by themselves are not securities. It is a very complicated case for uncle Gary on which are the illegal securities and which are not securities. I predict that if this case will gather more attention in the cryptospace and cause fear, we can be quite certain that much DEX trading volume will go to memecoins because memecoins are certainly and cannot be considered illegal securities hehehehhee.
Memcoins have a very small capitalization and are not yet interesting for SEC. Of course, there are large projects, but after news about some requirements from the SEC, the capitalization of such a project may decrease very sharply. And the SEC will become the subject of ridicule.
I think that when the SEC punishes all the large projects and they have nothing to do, then they can turn their attention to memcoins.

Agreed. Uncle Gary appears to be on an operation to charge the biggest cryptocoin companies and biggest DeFi platforms with lawsuits because if he can win on one case, this might begin his own precedent hehehe. However, what were the outcomes on uncle Gary's cases against Ripple, Coinbase and Grayscale? Ripple won their case. Coinbase, Grayscale are fighting on their cases and they might also win.

I speculate this case against Uniswap will be the last move against the cryptospace from uncle Gary. If he will lose this, we will not hear anything from the SEC again.
139  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin developer @lukedashjr's wallet was hacked on: April 15, 2024, 01:40:33 AM
The guards might also think he is Sam Bankman Fried's lost twin hehehee.

Sam Bankman or...

Sorry I had to do this.

Wow.
I didn't expect him to resort to FBI.
Yeah, this pretty much rules out the “boating accident theory, as it ever was a true scenario here. Seems like a dumb strategy for an OG like Luke.
Or maybe he’s playing three-dimensional chess with the FEDS here, relying on very sophisticated obfuscating technologies here, to save the proverbial 5 million dollars.

I very much think that this will certainly be a normal reaction for anyone who has millions of his own property stolen from him. No can laugh at him or criticize him for calling the FBI.

I've found fillippone's reaction a bit weird too. What's wrong with calling the FBI? Isn't it their job to catch the criminals? Do we automatically convert to criminals when we use Bitcoin?  Cool Our protector and savior the government save us from these bad people!

Are you trying to create a controversy hehehehe? In any case, @fillippone's reaction is normal. I was talking about the people who were criticizing Luke loudly on social media. I reckon as a tax payer, any person should make his tax dollars work for him by asking for assistance from the government. In reality, the government should be there to assist anyone who needs this. This is a right of every citizen.

So was he not even using a passphrase? I'm assuming he wasn't using a multisig setup.

Hard to believe someone with his level of knowledge wasn't using something as simple as a passphrase. With the large amount of funds involved
and his advanced technical expertise he should have been using a multisig setup but if not then the next best thing would be a passphrase aka hidden wallet.

If Dashjr was using a passphrase there would be little chance anyone could get access to his bitcoin, even if they had his seedphrase.
The other possibility is that he was using a passphrase but stored it in the same location as his seedphrase, but that would totally defeat the purpose of a passphrase.

Your passphrase should be stored only in your head IMO.
by all accounts and use of common sense to stitch the stories/revelations together

he did not use seeds, he did not use passphrase.
he had funds on LEGACY private key(which pre-dates seeds) on a hotwallet accessible via a server, which was accessible via a device which he carried with him to a conference/meetup which he must have allowed strangers/multiple people access or exposure to

If the FBI officer in charge on this case was a cryptocoin user, he might be shaking his head very vigorously in shock and this would appear to vibrate from all of the shaking.

@notblox1. You might be correct. I speculated in @rdbase's thread that Kayla Harrison will put Holly Holm on the stretcher, however after this weight cut, it appears that if her stamina is not there on round 2 and round 3, Holly Holm might win this with a decision. This is also not only a larpy speculation. Miesha Tate has said this during an interview with her on January. This is 3 months before the fight.

I will change my pick to Holly heheheh.

but Miesha Tate would like to remind her that hitting the weight and competing well after are two different things.

“When I saw it was at 135, I was shocked,” Tate said on SiriusXM’s Fight Nation. “Because Kayla Harrison begged for a 155-pound division at PFL, and she got it, and I think she’s been great there. She’s been tremendous. I know she’s made 145 before, I think it was tough for her. I think 135 is going to really suck the life out of her, and it’s not the best move.”
