Hero member wants to know if you can mine on a Raspberry Pi 3 - is this legit?
I have absolutely no knowledge about mining, so it's legit, why wouldn't it be? You can check back if you have some spare days and read my entire post history, I'm OK with bitcoin, and with blockchain, but I have never wanted to mine anything (bitcoin or any shitcoin) When the forum started to accept grin as a payment, I have started to think about mining this new alt but because I haven't got any equipment just a Raspberry I started the topic in the Beginner topic of the Mining thread. This topic has been moved here, because it's about an alt. So if you're an experienced Jr. you could point me to the right direction where to start to search for the information.

Best to ask this in the “Mining - altcoins” section of the forum which is further down the main page OK, thanks Bye the way, it seems that the mods have already moved the topic to the proper place, thanks for the help! I hope I will get an answer, because I'm really interested

I hope this is the right place to ask: I have googled it first, but I find only grin node on raspberry pi Is it possible (and worth the energy/time) to set up and start mining grin with a raspberry pi? (I have an unused one in the drawer and I'm trying to find a job for it ) Thanks for your thoughts!

Or the mods could decide to permaban someone (based on the quality (or the lack of quality) of his/her posts), or to give a second chance (sig.ban). It's alway better to have a year sig ban, if you have an established account, because you would miss only one bull run, but you don't have to start you account from scratch...
You do understand that "permaban" means "permanent ban" right? The " person" is banned... so their original account is banned, any alts are banned and they are banned from making new accounts. There is NO "starting account from scratch" when you are permabanned. I know what 'permaban' is... Is is really working that if someone has been permabanned, all of his/her alts are banned automatically? I would love this feautre, this would kill account farming at one go

There's a tendency now that instead of permaban there's a signature ban for copypaste, so this would be good for the OP as well. I don't know the exact rules when will someone get a permaban and when a signature ban, but I've read several topics in Meta about it, so there's a little hope. I saw a permaban modified to 2 months temporary ban these days too...

I totally agree with the OP. Those signature bans are not working out, stupid idea, let's go back to permabans - lets bitching that way.

Maybe its Time for some " excuse Bingo" again lol Nice idea, good luck everyone @Plagiariser BTCingo TM... Thanks, this is the excuse card what I was searching for I wrote in another topic that the most common excuses are already gathered together in a nice card, but I didn't remember where to search for it

Just out of curiosity, do we catch now only the copy-pasters or we can catch those using word spinners as well with this script??
Text spinners, I understood what you mean: Text spinning/disguised plagiarismhowever, only unknown bot-creator(s) can answer the question. I'm also interested in the text spinning detection, because it's really sad that you see a newbie, posting a wall of text and you're sure that it's not genuie and it's been copied and pasted from somewhere, but you can't google for it, because it has been spinned... and it's really hard to detect that... Universities and other schools are also searching for plagiarism somehow, do they keep their methods in secret?

I admit I haven't checked and googled yet, but: Is there anything here for merits like we have for posts? I mean, there's the patrol page for the new posts, but is there anything similar for new merits? Like a merit patrol page? It would be useful in the coming days, it the things in the above posts come true

OP please lock this topic You have your proof now and locking the topic will prevent it from becoming a spam megathred Thanks

Somehow, it is annoying to see 30 or 50 to 100 new Ban Appeals in Meta per day. By the way, I think that if possible, forum should have a child board, only for Ban Appeals, a child board inside the Meta board.
Like hilariousandco already said (just in other words): the ban reason is already stated in the message. The user usually knows why he got banned, but they like to play dumb hoping they can pass it as a mistake. Also, there where somewhere on the forum some funny 'Ban appeal' cards or similar, where the most commonly used excuses were gathered together, like: it was my brother/sister, not me, it was my neighbour, etc... I also think that most of the banned members who copypaste, know exacly what they do and why they do it, so they don't need a ref.link if banned. Those who has no clue about bitcoin and the forum itself, who learns how to make quick money with posting on this forum from youtube videos, they won't have a clue about the possible bans, because those youtube videos don't cover this part of the process I guess

... These secondary wallets are impossible to detect provided the attacker does not know they exist. This means both not publicizing the fact that you are holding large amounts of crypto, and making sure they are not obviously linked to your main account via blockchain analytics. If you are physically attacked, you can give up your main wallet (with a small amount of crypto inside), while your secondary passphrase protected wallets are undetected and untouched.
Are these secondary wallets are restored if you restore your seed on a brand new device after the attack? If yes, it's a really good thing to know. I'm afraid that who attach you because of bitcoin will know about this secondary attack and can use the same $5 wrench to get the information... or you should be absolutely convincing that you have no clue about that secondary wallet thing at all...

Maybe a single percentage of the number of the merited posts deleted / total earned merits would be interesting... As far as I'm concerned, a merit worthy post is not going to be deleted anytime (OK, except when a thread becomes a spam megathread because of the spammers, and the whole thread gets deleted), so if someone has a high percentage of the deleted merited posts, it would be at least suspicious

... Partly true, when post is deleted user can get PM like this : Deleted Post « Sent to: Lucius on: 22 March 2019, 23:30:33 » A reply of yours, quoted below, was deleted by a Bitcoin Forum moderator. Posts are most frequently deleted because they are off-topic, though they can also be deleted for other reasons. In the future, please avoid posting things that need to be deleted In this case it is because off-topic, and I agree PM moderators is not the smartest move, what is deleted will likely remain deleted. This is only true when a single post was deleted and not a complete thread becuase in that case there's no PM. I'm just wondering if there's any use to create a sticky about reported posts, deleted posts, deleted threads, etc... I think there will be only a few views on that sticky, because most of the newbies and the spammers are only here to write and not to read

This is already possible if you have an iPhone.
All you have to do is login to the forum using your password from your phone, and tell your iPhone to save your password. Your password will be saved to your keychain and when you access the login screen in the future, you will be prompted to use your saved password, and if you want to, you will be prompted to use your touch id to access your saved passwords in your keychain.
And in this case you can use the fingerprint safely, because when you use the touch ID, your fingerprints won't leave the iphone, it will just check them to give access to the password manager (at least, this is the Apple communication ) So they won't let any 3rd party app access the digital version of the fingerprint stored on the device (only the 3 letter government agencies )

On my local board one can spot them due to the way the expression are constructed, and especially when inaccurate words are placed in the phrases (this makes them stand-out). If I see them I report them, but more often than not, my local moderator detects them himself and deleted them. ... This is true for the most smaller languages, where google translate has not enough content to fine tune the translation. For some of the languages, it's not possible to use the google translate becuase of the poor performance...

... By the way, I’m now finally in the 1000 successful reporters club Nice job The trick is, don't stop it now, and maybe you won't notice but it will be soon 5000 or even 10.000

What if every signature campaign will require the participants to have at least 3 post on their Local Board? I think this is enough now to have some active local board to help every newbies on their local. ...
This can't be possible... Just imagine on how will the manager make a quick review on the participant's posts on their boards if it isn't written in English. ... Google translate to English can give a rough overview about the post itself, so posts on the local boards can be checked more or less as easily as the english posts. Of course google translate can be tricky in connection with a few special languages, but the main languages are covered and the translation is good usually
