I will be there to buy your hardware for pennies on the dollar if you tried to roi and failed catastrophicly to feed my ppc habit or even Newfound sht coin habit.  Just wait till December if knc  follows through: they will forever have earned more renown than gen1 basic vendors in my book.
1262  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 09, 2013, 04:06:15 AM
Exactly.... Engineers, not front line shipping managers.  Killing things compared to bfl and Avalon so far.  No reasons to really complain (yet)
1263  Bitcoin / Hardware / How Did KNC Miner Overclock their FPGAs? on: October 08, 2013, 10:15:52 PM
I have a few spares lying around and I've now seen another company do the same with what appears to be stock off the shelf hardware.  How do I go about overclocking my own hardware (yes I'll take extra precautions for cooling and added heatsinks)  I have spartan X6500s that I'd be willing to sacarafice for extra hashpower if I were to in fact brick them in the exercise on overclocking.
1264  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: I have intel with NVIDIA and what is easiest cheapest way to start mining? on: October 08, 2013, 08:03:57 PM
As I said, bitcoin mining is not profitable using video cards anymore, you can try just for fun though.
I switched to litecoins, because it is 2.5 times more profitable. Then I exchange litecoins to bitcoins. I just wish I switched earlier. Lost a lot of time mining bitcoins. Still my video card is not completely paid of.

Erupters can not mine litecoins. Video card can.
Erupters can not do anything except mining, and good luck to sell it when it become not profitable. Video card can be useful in games and you can also sell it if for some reason mining would be not profitable anymore.

for all intents and purposes 2.5 Times 40 cents is still only One Dollar.

surebet: could you please tell us how this happened ?

Fuck if I know, I came across these somewhere else and thought I'd share. This thread has given me so much.

I get it.... but you're toxic for spamming this img in every knc thread.

1267  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: KNC on fire ! on: October 08, 2013, 02:04:13 AM
Okay so for those of us who still have stuff on order or have recently received anything - IS THIS A PROBLEM?Huh  I saw a guy on IRC who said "use VRM heatsinks"  that will prevent the problem altogether by reducing heat output ~20%.  Is that true?  Will this postpone orders going forward?  I'd be willing to wait if it means being sure my house will not catch on fire.  I'm not saying it will or that this is bound to happen (I'm still hoping that this was a freak occurence Human error based incident)  [not human error as a result of bad engineering].

Just looking for answers.

1269  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 07, 2013, 06:53:26 AM
I smelled overpriced as soon as they announced it...Did you guys seriously think they would move full force on hosting before getting things well tuned?  Did you guys seriously think hosting was happening in full swing over precedent of bullshit like cloudhashing commitment or day 1/2 orders which have certainly by now been bundled into a "priority batch to be fulfilled first".   You are saying its better to pay 2000 because it helps to skip the time in transit and gives me an edge on difficulty jump and is cheaper than my super expensive electricity and buying a powersupply.  IMHO you severely miscalculated.
1270  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 07, 2013, 06:35:16 AM
If they ship a bulk of day 1 and 2 orders tomorrow and have hosting interface done by Wednesday that would be a large win... if its any later than wed then you will have the right to fuss about it right now its still too early.  I think they tuned but didn't necessarily fulfil much of shit last week for good reasons.
1271  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 07, 2013, 06:20:25 AM
My day 1 early preorder early paid Jupiter. Still haven't gotten it. Why? Because I was fool to choose knc hosting.

Got screwed over big time. And I'm still waiting.... and their compensation? An extra free month of hosting... to earn a measly half of a bitcoin while this week, I've lost a potential $1000-$2000.

If you choose to wine majorly on your own decision...... you're an idiot.  If its running by Wednesday you're ahead.
1272  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon Gen2 on: October 02, 2013, 11:16:32 PM
bitfury has been there done that.

no one likes avalon at all at this point.  They have to sell hardware using tradehill

Use it as a raffle prize at BTC.005 a ticket.

Thats a lightweight good idea - I'd need to have a ton of ppl interested though (I could see only getting something on the realm of .05 total btc proceeds from raffle)
1274  Economy / Goods / Re: [SOLD] Volcano Solidvalve Vaporizer 3 BTC on: October 02, 2013, 09:02:31 PM

Yea I figured that out yesterday right before you posted it.  I ended up using a 3rd tab to fasten against the side.

1276  Economy / Speculation / Re: Stop panic selling on: October 02, 2013, 06:09:51 PM

1277  Economy / Speculation / Re: Silkroad closed down. Owner Arrested. on: October 02, 2013, 06:01:51 PM
If they sell it and cause a flash crash, there are plenty in the wings waiting to pick them up.

This is undoubtedly going to cause a significant drop in price. The question is for how deep and how long before it rises back up again.
like me ill swoop up as much as i can for anything under 50
1278  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: What to do with one Block Erupter on: October 02, 2013, 05:46:08 AM
Lol . Have enough to do all those tthings like 10x over.  I'm thinking about solomining tekcoin something not yet listed...can't use a calculator  for parameters...honestly you quote the genesis block all the time guys...its not the grail...mining gets cost prohibitive at 3 bill difficulty as your power to Hash competitivly.  Just armchair calculations....then a new lw doff sha256 gets attention...
1279  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [FS] **Version 2**: All aluminum open air case for BitFury miners on: October 02, 2013, 04:01:26 AM
could you give a pic of how the power supply connects to the frame?  I think i get that the tabs attach to the side frame either on the top or sides and screw into the mesh area on the PSU...is that correct?
1280  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [FS] **Version 2**: All aluminum open air case for BitFury miners on: October 02, 2013, 02:52:13 AM
