I think the real reason not to use deepbit is the MASSIVE fees. Many pools are fee-less, why not use one of them instead?
exactly! way better argument then they are evil large corporations. Cheesy
1302  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: SAVE THE FUTURE OF BITCOIN. STOP USING GOX AND DEEPBIT! on: June 04, 2012, 04:44:52 PM
I just din't received my BTC, But I've sended them a mail, hope i'l get an answer soon...
this is unrelated to the subject, thats probably just a mistake. did you download the blockchain?

the subject is that David is about to be put the nearest mental institution, becuase of his paranoid delusions about deepbit and mtgox being evil large companies, trying to suck his brain out of his ear, while stealing all of his bitcoin.
1303  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: cbitcoin - Bitcoin implementation in C. Currently in development. on: June 04, 2012, 03:23:33 PM
If I had to write something in straight-C, I would use the D language.
if i had to use X, i would use something different and unrelated Y.

WTF? the reason for using C is that its simple, small and portable. which i suspect that D is not.
1304  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: SAVE THE FUTURE OF BITCOIN. STOP USING GOX AND DEEPBIT! on: June 03, 2012, 08:02:46 PM
1.  OBVIOUSLY I am talking about the BITCOIN COMMUNITY when I am saying SUPER LARGE in reference to Gox and Deepbit.  NOT THE REAL WORLD INCLUDED.  Jesus, are you really that slow?
so in your opinion we should just stick our fingers in our ears, and scream LALALAALALALLALACANTHEARYOU!!!!LALALALAL, and ignore the world around us? You just won a one way trip to your local mental institution.

can you please tell me we intersango and bitcoinica(except that they fucked up/were unlucky) is bitcoin biggest problems?
1305  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Wtf is the government thinking on: June 03, 2012, 06:54:08 PM
by smoking in public places, you are forcing other people to smoke indirectly.

so its okay for you to force something upon others, but its not okay that the government does it?
1306  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: SAVE THE FUTURE OF BITCOIN. STOP USING GOX AND DEEPBIT! on: June 03, 2012, 06:12:32 PM
But just like in the real world, SUPER LARGE COMPANIES FUCK EVERYONE.
would you define deepbit or mtgox as SUPER LARGE? interesting. you know in the real world they are super small nearly nonexistent companies, right?

i would also like some competition, but i would not suggest that people should stop using deepbit or mtgox. mtgox had already taken a legal fight in France for bitcoin, i would say that its better to have a few large, that can defend themselfs, instead 100's small one that can't. i think in the future we will see many small competitors, just wait and let bitcoin grow big.

i would be using intersango, if bitcoinica havn't had taken my btc hostage.

Felt like Sherlock for a sec, didn't you?  Cool
he is a Internet detective, LOL.
1308  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Please forgive my ignorance, but WTF ? on: June 03, 2012, 05:26:57 PM
LOL, bitcoins can't be traced to a IP.

the ip in blockchain.info, is the ip that forwarded the transaction to blockchain.info, it is therefor not from the original sender of the bitcoins.

You have to retrieve the database!
no. and it would be a very stupid idea to relie on the database now, that hacker would have messed it up already(i would at least).
the db is more then useless right now, its directly misleading.

I have been a Bitcoinica customer for the last several months.

I made a number of deposits to Bitcoinica from Mt.Gox, using Mt.Gox codes.
I executed dozens of trades, won some, lost some, made no withdrawals.
I never had any issues with the service so I made no complaints and sent no emails to support.

I don't seem to have received  _any_ emails from *@bitcoinica.com prior to the claims form.
I had a smooth, clean, entirely trouble free relationship with bitcoinica to the day of the last hack.

From reading zhoutongs inane unofficial suggestion I get a sinking feeling in my stomach.

Was transactional emails turned off by default? (I don't like frequent, automated emails cluttering my inbox.)
Am I looking at the wrong email address? Or am I missing something?
i have the emails. check your spam folder.
and im reputable and trustworthy, even though i didn't do many deals in bitcoin, im still a long time member of the bitcoin community, and i haven't cheated or lied.

Hi all. I'm making my first post here to offer my heartfelt apology to those affected by the security breach at Bitcoinica.
so you are the shady invester?

Quote
The investment fund I work with first put money into Bitcoinica because I had identified it as a promising start-up in this exciting space. It is my job to find potential investments and conduct related due diligence. In doing so, I learned a lot about bitcoin trading and Bitcoinica.

Like many early stage companies, Bitcoinica experienced growing pains as its success outgrew the capacity of its initial founder to handle alone. It was I who sought out expanded management to help take Bitcoinica forward.

I chose the Bitcoin Consultancy team due to their early involvement with bitcoin, their experience operating an exchange, and their reputations for expertise in online security.

Bitcoin Consultancy was first retained to perform a comprehensive security audit on March 27 and they became owners and operators of Bitcoinica LP on April 24. As General Partner, they have exclusive legal authority to manage the company.

Because their time with the company is relatively short, the present situation is especially challenging. Zhou Tong has continued to assist in an unofficial capacity. I've offered what insights I can based on my knowledge of the business. In spite of the challenges, I know the Bitcoin Consultancy team would like to bring about the best possible outcome.

Per standard practice, Bitcoin Consultancy entered into a non-disclosure agreement which extends to Bitcoinica's proprietary systems and processes. They are free to discuss their role and history with the company.

For those who wish to blame someone, blame me. Perhaps if I'd pushed for expanded management sooner or in a different way, the incident might have been avoided.

For avoidance of confusion, I wish to reiterate Bitcoinica Consultancy's prior statement: Mr. Heaslip is an accounting professional who assisted with company formation. He has his own business interests in New Zealand which are otherwise unrelated. I have facilitated investments in dozens of other companies, including some in the bitcoin space. Those companies are also unrelated.

I’m unable to follow most public postings here, but you can reach me through this forum by private message. Questions about processing of funds should be directed to Bitcoin Consultancy as they alone control that process.
bla bla bla... about stuff that we already know. and some little that we did not know. thank you.

I've advised Bitcoin Consultancy to focus their efforts on processing claims rather than public debate. Please extend them your continued patience.
awesome way to stop the clusterfuck that Bitcoinica Consultancy and Zhou Tong had.

do you know when claims are being processed? (and especially my claim!)
1319  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Emergency ANN] Bitcoinica site is taken offline for security investigation on: May 24, 2012, 12:15:00 PM
I beat it guess. What does this red selection frame? This means that a hacker - the same "mystery investor"! Made a backup on own disk. Then, remove the server. He is the only owner of the database! Now he - BOSS. But that's not enough. What would need to get more - you need to make Bitcoinica work as before ... Make a profit for the boss. But you need the consent of previous owners (cool wallet from them). While the hacker and former owners did not agree - money is not returned. I suggest a compromise quickly. Reputation at stake. In any case, we, the users do not lose anything, just run bitcoinica will be an expert on security. Grin

you know that this is highly likely to be fake pic, right?
