Looks like I got scammed on eBay, paid for 3 SP20Es using BTC (I know, I know..) because the seller had 100% feedback and 173 transactions. Stupid me for thinking that was enough to trust him.

Here are the 3 units I "bought". Beware of him.

I'm feeling real fucking dumb right about now. Guess contacting eBay will be pointless, since I paid for them with BTC and have nothing but our messages as proof.

He's definitely a scammer.  Angry
1323  Economy / Goods / Re: Bitcoin eBay auctions on: March 16, 2015, 03:20:07 AM

What's going on is I bought all 3 from him, paying with Bitcoin. I paid him on Friday, and haven't heard from him since 30 minutes ago. He's ignoring my questions about when he'll ship them to me, so I put a max bid of $5000 on each. He told me before I paid that he only has those 3 units to sell, so I saw no harm in bidding on them while I waited for a reply from him. He just got back to me, asking why I bid them up to ridiculous prices and deleted my bids. He still in ignoring me after I told him why I did, and I'm seriously starting to think I'm being scammed. I'm not sure what I should do, or really what I can do. Guess I'll wait some more. Worse case I'll need to do some detective work and book a flight to Paris. Always wanted to see the Eiffel Tower.
1324  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: *** GHash.IO mining pool official page *** on: March 16, 2015, 01:17:11 AM
I'd say it's safe to say it's a mix of all 3.
1325  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: *** GHash.IO mining pool official page *** on: March 15, 2015, 06:34:00 PM
Just keep trying every hour or so. I imagine it will eventually go through. Pool is in a pretty sad state when it can't afford to pay out 0.03btc.  Roll Eyes

This thread has been entirely beat up with way off topic stuff, not to say anything about the stupid ramblings of Dorksperiment.

Smiley

You're certainly one to talk about stupid ramblings.  Roll Eyes

+1 for kano & p2pool

Buy quality power supplies, not 40$ junk.

I have to disagree on p2pool it is horribly neglected. I tried mining it for a month and made less returns. I think p2pool needs a major rework or it will remain barely used compared to owned pools.

Yes buy good PSU or they will fry. Corsair, EVGA, or modded server PSU.

A month on p2pool isn't really enough to compare, but I know what you're saying. It needs some loving. If p2pool has 1% of the total network hashrate, I think it would still work in it's current form, though.

Just signed up, waiting on PM from the bot now. How long does that usually take?

Should only take a couple minutes.

Ok, still waiting on it after 30+ minutes.

1333  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Speaking to Spondoolies Hardware with the serial port on: March 15, 2015, 12:08:32 PM
Hi Max,

I'm curious, what will using the serial port allow you to do with the SP20? (once you get it working)
1334  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Are all SP20s the same? on: March 15, 2015, 09:20:07 AM
Dawson would be an SP10, so probably a typo.

I think the E signifies that the mounting of the hash boards was improved for better durability during shipping.

Let the conspiracy theories begin!

New thread incoming for new hardware! Bitmain did lower their prices, afterall.  Roll Eyes

The Lightning is great, but depending on it's price you could probably do better.
1337  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: March 15, 2015, 04:33:30 AM
I can't post in it either. Weird.
1338  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S4 Discussion and Support Thread on: March 14, 2015, 10:50:56 PM
FYI

There are few venders selling Bitmain Antminer S4 as NEW or Unopened or USED.  Please make sure the sellers can provide you the original purchase information and any warranty status information.

Should we interpret the fact that you're ignoring my question as bitmain has no plans to fix the broken firmware?

I think we should ask smitty over on the other forum.

Where does he post?

Fucking ridiculous that we have to depend on the good will of a user to fix a company's broken software.

And I can't recommend you guys enough. I started with Seasonic ATX PSUs, discovered server PSUs and soldered my own wiring, and then you guys came along with your breakout boards and changed the game. I'm running your DPS2000 boards, and I couldn't be happier.
