How many GPUs are you planning on buying in total.

I currently got 10 and want to expand but don't want to get burnt how I got burnt 2 years ago with the whole Litecoin/Dogecoin GPU rigs. Where it was profitable for 1 month and then went downhill.

Everyone throwing themselves at gpus for ethereum are going to get burned like in 2013/2014 with litecoin. I suggest using what you have, and not buying into more gpus unless the price is incredibly good. But everyone knows how profitable gpu mining is right now, so there are no good deals.
362  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum mining still profitable? on: February 19, 2016, 02:02:57 AM
Is there a faster private ethereum miner out there for AMD GPUs? Specifically Tahiti and Hawaii cards? If so, I'd like to buy it. Contact me by PM.

This is the cleanest setup I have ever seen.  You must be an engineer.

Ditto. Fantastic setup!
364  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BITMAIN AntMiner APW3-12-1600 PSU Series on: February 17, 2016, 02:24:49 PM
Can anyone verify the power factor on one of these? I'm wondering if the one I tested is defective, or if they're all crap with a PF of 0.93.

1x: EVGA 1300W Gold Power Supply $125 is sold to me  Grin

Yep, updated OP. Thanks Valkir. Smiley

And the 1600 T2 i received has been working great.

I'm going to possibly going to need more PSU soon if i can find a PDU to use in my 50a receptacle. Yesterday there was a sale for a 650 P2 for 75$ shipped (after mir) so i went for that. But i'm going to need quite a bit more. Maybe i'd be interested in cleaning out all the Seasonics gold, maybe see if i can get a good deal from cleaning out what you have left.

We'll see.

Cool, let me know. I'll be happy to deal with you again.

367  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB] Platinum & Gold PSUs working but with burnt connectors USA & Canada only on: February 15, 2016, 05:24:36 AM
I have a few Seasonic 1250w with at least 1 burnt connector each that I haven't gotten around to RMAing yet. Might have a few other high end supplies also.

Burnt connectors are very easy to repair, just buy the Pins and a new PCIe connector and a crimp tool and you can fix them yourself.

I know, I'm just lazy. Really, I'd just have to call Seasonic and get them replaced for the cost of shipping them back to Seasonic.

I'm guessing the burn connector is inside the modular PSU side, so not easily replaceable? If its just a cable's end PCI-e, its def not something that would make me sell the PSU for cheap like OP is hoping. Cost like 30 cents to fix a pci-e connector.

Yeah, seems it's always the modular connector on the PSU that goes out for some reason.
368  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS][Ship From CANADA]*Weekend sale* 4 S5 800$/2.1BTC for all Shipped on: February 15, 2016, 05:22:23 AM
A 30a pdu will come with an L6-30P, you need a L6-30R to plug into. Then you need a c13 to c14 cable for every psu you plug into the pdu. You can easily make an adapter that has the right male plug for your existing stove plug, and the L6-30R female receptacle for the pdu.
369  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS][CANADA]4*S5 230$/ea shipped, 2.3 BTC for all on: February 15, 2016, 04:02:04 AM
Deleted previous bump. This time i added a bulk price for all 4. 2.3BTC

Priced lowered to 2.1BTC for all, shipped. Priced to sell this weekend. Reply or PM. Cheers. Wink

Saturday Bump. PM me if you're interested in some S5's.

Last Bump. I get nobody wants to buy anything because of the big bad difficulty, but i figured i'd try one last bump. Cheers.

Yeah, terrible time for sellers with old gear. I'd only risk half of what your asking to buy them with difficulty going the way it is.  Sad

Yeah, at which point that would be ROI in less than 2 months and thus not something i would ever do, since i have limited but free electricity. ROI is still good. But if i need to offline them, i will considering selling them 25% cheaper since miners not being run is where you really lose money.

But nobody even offered me lowballs (beside your indirect one just now).

Maybe i should just buy a 30/40A 240V PDU and use my oven's plug to run them for now, since my limit is the low Amp cap on my panel.

Yeah, that's probably want I'd do. Pick up a pdu and run them into  the ground. Hurts to much to sell them so low.  (at least for me)

372  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitfury: "16nm... sales to public start shortly" on: February 15, 2016, 03:31:35 AM
I guess it is not important, I certainly am not going to go out and buy a Mobile Immersion Data Center.  Hell, it took all my change to upgrade my garage to a 300 amp panel  Grin

when you do a 300 amp panel do you need new wires from the power company's transformer?

Yes.

Also does the power company need to upgrade the transformer?

Depends on the installed transformer capacity on the pole vs calculated load for all buildings connected to that particular transformer.

I heard 300A were coming to residential buildings soon with only 1 mast, whereas before they would require 2 like a 400A setup. Are you single, or double mast?
374  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S4 Discussion and Support Thread on: February 15, 2016, 03:09:44 AM
There are details somewhere in the thread explaining it.
375  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S4 Discussion and Support Thread on: February 14, 2016, 08:17:41 PM
Going to be getting an S4 soon and was wondering how you guys have dealt with the noise? I know you can underclock it but that kind of defeats the object of it. Not got to worry too much about ambient temps as I'm in the uk and rarely gets above 25c in summer.

I currently have two s3's under my desk in my room and can quite easily sleep with those on all the time so just wondering what the s4 is like in comparison.

Thanks.

--bitmain-homemode

That will slow the fans down. Never had any issues with running them that way, and the temps arent an issue.

where do I input this command to get the fans to slow down?

Thanks.

SSH or Putty. etc/init.d/cgminer.conf if I remember correctly. I probably don't, but the information is somewhere in this thread.

As an electrician, I recommend you to have an electrician do the job.

Why don't you, as an electrician, give him the proper information instead, and let him make the decision?

Why do you keep bumping threads which are over 2 years old?

This. Use your head and send people private messages instead of necroing old ass threads.  Roll Eyes

I might be interested without the PSUs, but I don't think you'd like the price I'm offering considering the ridiculous difficulty increases these days. PM me if you're willing to sell them for what they're worth. I'm also in Montreal.
