1361  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin is neither a currency nor a store of value ! on: September 16, 2017, 09:24:46 AM

Why does bitcoin have to tick boxes in such an exact way to work? When the internet first began it wasn't a reliable way to transfer high quality information or how about the invention of the car, they thought the horse and cart was more reliable - cars looked like a scam.  New technology breaks the previous mold.

Fiat has inflation rates of 2%+ right now its losing value fast in your hands. Gold is a good store of value but hard to move.

This is an altcoin and you need to talk about altcoins in the altcoin section of the forum.

Manchester United vs. Everton and Mourinho said Rooney are welcome back again to Manchester United and the fans certainly will not hated him however Pogba officially will not play in this match but i think that is not a problem for MU because they still have a chance to win so Manchester United ML is pick i think

But still missed Pogba is a problem for Manchester United, luckly Man United still have many good players to fill Pogba spot. Rooney against his old team, it must be weird for him lmao. In my opinion Manchester United will play like usual and i'm pretty sure Man United will win on this match, especially Everton just lose on europa league before and they must play again today against big team.

Yeah they would miss matic more than pogba.  Even though it might be fun to see wayne rooney do some great things in this game i dont think he can cut it against a team like man united anymore.  I actually think he will be a bench player by the 2nd half of season for everton or they will end up down fighting relegation.
1364  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: September 15, 2017, 09:32:31 PM
Roy Hodgson does not deserve to manage a Champion's League sided club, not even ones in the top 6. With his track record of botching up high profile teams like the England Squad in the World Cup in 2014 and the Euro 2016 squad, no club owner in their right mind would hire him. Abramovich looks for a coach with winning ways, not someone who uses a tall pure striker like Kane to take corners instead of being in the box trying to get his head into that corner. You have to be out of your mind to hire Roy. He only deserves to manage teams in the lower divisions until he can prove himself.

I think you are being a bit harsh on Roy, it's not totally his fault for the failures with the national England team. England have had always one of the best national teams if you compare individuals with other national teams, their problem have been always harmonizing with each other. This no good coach can solve if the players do not solve it by themselves first.

In the european cup just gone the group games were ok but that game against iceland proved how tactically inept roy was.  Keeping players like rooney on the field when his legs had gone in the 2nd half while vardy in the season of his life sat on the bench was insane.   I remember several other changes and obvious tactical decisions in that game that didnt happen also.  Im not sure he has the skill level for premier league.  Maybe championship level perhaps.
1365  Economy / Exchanges / Re: UK Coinbase users - how to withdraw on: September 15, 2017, 07:45:20 PM
It's probably not fraud.

Here's a support article from Coinbase on Payment Methods for UK Customers.
The example is in Euros. It's possible that Coinbase won't withdraw to GBP, can your bank accept transfers in Euros and then convert them to GBP?

Pretty much any large bank in uk should usually accept euros sent to your account but there are charges applied.  The conversion rate is very poor in general also. You can set up a euro account specially for receiving euros but there are charges for holding a euro account + at some point you probably want to trade out of euro so unless you can find a good rate somehow you lose out this way also.  I did try and message coinfloor 1 time because they deal in GBP but their support took so long it made me worry.  We do need more options in UK.
1366  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: My conspiracy theory about CHINA...what is yours? on: September 15, 2017, 04:56:33 PM
1.  I think China want to temporarily crash the market so they can collect more BTC (and other coins dirt cheap) before announcing that they are officially adopting.  At that point BTC (and other crypto) will sky rocket.

2. They don't want their citizens to trade cryptocurrency and earn (relatively easily) in fear of losing their cheap labor force.  They will then try to make it as difficult as possible for it to flourish in their country.

Which is it???

They seem to crash the market to buy back in, im not sure how much they can make in such a small market when its spread out between so many people.  I should imagine its mostly the top bitcoin players who control this thing and pay off whoever needs paying off.  On the bright note if they big players want to do this in this market its bullish long term.  Things ive noticed is the bad news comes in installments, like they are checking if its the right time or something.
1367  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Too much unconfirmed transactions suddenly on: September 14, 2017, 04:55:33 PM
What's up with these unconfirmed transactions that came up suddenly? I doubt it has anything to do with that BTCC closing their exchange because users still have much time to withdraw their funds from the exchange. It literally skyrocketed: https://blockchain.info/fr/charts/mempool-count

Everytime the price is going down largely i have found the network starts to slow down and take longer to confirm.  Its likely because more people are trying to move bitcoin at that time, some trying to move it to sell, some people just bought the dip and are moving it off exchange.  Other than that is some kind of conspiracy between miner to slow network down to increase panic maybe.
1368  Economy / Speculation / Re: Last chance for cheap Bitcoin? on: September 14, 2017, 08:33:40 AM

After watching the mainstream news last night for the first time in over a year i was reminded that the inflation rate = 2.9% on fiat in the last year.  That it so huge it makes me very bullish on crypto vs fiat pairs.  Also reminds me not to hold fiat for any long length of time.  The price has gone up high with bitcoin but i've turned bullish again, bring on $10k.
1369  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cant believe a Tweet can cause $billions blood bath on: September 13, 2017, 09:10:35 AM
Just trying to catch up here and I see that the price of everything dropped +/- 10% overnight. To what tweet are you referring?

Probably the tweet by litecoin creator charlie lee saying he thinks news about china exchanges being shut down is correct.  We really dont need china trolling us going forward so maybe its for the best.  The value of bitcoin doesn't come from china exchanges though that is for sure. Also, other options will be put in place no doubt.
1370  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Kraken account locked, support isn't helping, what can I do? on: September 13, 2017, 08:39:14 AM

nice job, glad it got sorted for you OP
1371  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Kraken account locked, support isn't helping, what can I do? on: September 12, 2017, 01:49:49 PM

Dude i would give it 24 hours from now, take a walk, try to chill out, i know its frustrating, i'd be the same.  To give you some confidence i have been moving money in and out for last few months from kraken, fiat, crypto etc etc no problems.  You've probably got their attention now with the posts, just have to wait a bit.  My mrs did a verfication recently took nearly a week for that to go through.
1372  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Kraken account locked, support isn't helping, what can I do? on: September 12, 2017, 01:14:18 PM
Can i ask how much are we talking here? thousands?  i want to judge why it might take so long, if lots of money i cant understand time lag.  I am confident they will solve your problem btw, its just there are more people in crypto than ever before, yes its maybe not a good enough excuse.

I did not remember to copy my 2FA key when i made kraken account, opps, now worried if i redo 2FA i mess it up and get locked out like you.

1373  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which is more profitable, trading in Crypto coins or trading in stock market?? on: September 12, 2017, 08:35:32 AM
both too risky, crypto probably more profitable from the little contact I had with stocks...

I keep some in crypto and some in a few countries national debt bonds (or what's the correct name) for safety.

Crypto can be risky due to having to keep money on exchanges but if you want a super simple strategy to beat crypto trading and you are patient then just wait for good news and buy.  You probably want to sell again within 24-48 hours with this strategy and you can hold money in fiat works best. Anyone can do that if they have patience but most people dont have the patience to wait 1-2 months at times to make a trade. Easy 100% ROI minimum with this strategy though i would say buy and hold often better ROI though.
1374  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which is more profitable, trading in Crypto coins or trading in stock market?? on: September 11, 2017, 12:55:51 PM
Depends on the amount of money you trade is probably the main variable.  If you are a huge player then the crypto market might actually be too small for you.  If you are a regular type guy though which do you understand best? stocks or crypto? you will likely make more money in the market you understand.  Really though its probably best to buy and hold if asking these questions, trading is very hard.
1375  Economy / Economics / Re: The panic seller irony on: September 10, 2017, 01:59:40 PM
People selling now at 4k are missing huge potential upside, many newbies got into bitcoin at 2k and have doubled their money so cant blame them but we need stronger hands waiting for 40k, 100k etc.  I know when i first got into crypto i trippled up really quickly and it caused me to sell out some the next week after investing for first time.  There aren't many things you can get those kind of quick easy ROIs.
1376  Other / Off-topic / Re: I am getting sick of fucking Chinese idiots on: September 09, 2017, 12:28:56 PM
The market over reaction is insane, lets assume that news was true and china exchanges were no longer allowed to opperate, would that mean bitcoin has 10%+ less value based on that alone?  Maybe it should be something like a 2% drop given the current stage of bitcoin.  While they can keep pulling this stunt they will im sure.

It would probably be closer to 50% less value...  Then there's the fear factor from there and we might easily see $100 btc again.

You dont actually believe that though do you, were you around at $100? we had mtgox with 90% of the market, no ASICs and no ATMS. There were much less people active around the community on a day to day basis.  The difficulty levels were insanely low vs now.   Not sure where you get a few china exchanges having 50% of the marketcap of bitcoin? Im sticking with them being worth around 2%.

1378  Other / Politics & Society / Re: If we can educate our kids at home why do we need to send them at school? on: September 08, 2017, 12:28:20 PM
If we can educate our kids at home why do we need to send them at school?

If socialization is a problem to homeschool, there are many solutions to that ;-)

The main #1 reason is simply resources bud, you probably need to be a millionaire or have assets equivalent to bring up kids properly. Bringing up kids properly does mean either home schooling or sending them to a very forward thinking school which costs money.  Most parents have to work so dont have time to educate kids at home.

If you are living paycheck to paycheck and have kids in mainstream school there is a bigger chance of a whole ton of problems, too much to list.  It can be done this way i guess but why have kids if you cant provide your genetics the best chance in life. Me and the mrs are reluctant to have kids at this point in our lives and by the time we feel ready for it it may be too late tbh.
1379  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MTGOX case now. WE want our money back ! on: September 08, 2017, 12:19:30 PM
any news on mt gox trial?

No good news which mean you payouts are coming if thats what you mean.  Currently we have a hold up with the courts due to this guy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WKvkV-m6RrI

There is another meeting on the 27th of this month.  Mark K says he has been doing what he can to help get us the 200k coins. All details are @ mtgoxinsolvency on reddit.
1380  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: September 07, 2017, 11:30:06 AM
United are still very reliant on a few key players. For example if matic got a bad injury i doubt they would win the title.  Yes they had a good start buts lets see how they go from here. City have a squad of players where it doesn't matter if 1 gets injured. Liverpool could be the shock team this year though, at least top 3 for me.
