13621  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Claiming Bitcoin Cash BCH on: December 26, 2017, 07:21:50 PM
Why are you download Bitcoin Core to "claim the BCH"? Bitcoin Core is only for Bitcoin.

If you want to spend the BCH from your old Electrum wallet, you just need to download Electron Cash[1] (Electrum fork for BCH), and open your Electrum wallet with it. Simple as that.

13622  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Creating a timelocked transaction on: December 26, 2017, 05:53:15 PM
I believe that there are better ways to do that. This is the method I already used in the past and recommend:

For that, you will need to use Coinb.in, which is an open source tool and can be downloaded and run locally.

You can use Coinbin to do that. I had one a few months ago and it's quite easy to create/spend your coins after the chosen period.

To create the Time Locked Address:
1. Go to Coinb.in;
2. New -> Time Locked Address.
3. Enter your address public key (the one you require to sign the transaction and be able to spend the coins);
4. Enter the date-time or blockheight you want to release the coins.
5. Submit and save the Redeem Script (don't lose that or you won't be able to spend your coins in the future);
6. Send the coins you want to keep locked to the Address generated.

After the chosen period, you will be able to spend your coins.
1. Go to Coinb.in;
2. New -> Transaction;
3. Paste your Redeem Script and click Load (it's going to show every input available to be spent);
4. Paste the address you want to send the coins to at the "Address" field and the amount in the "Amount" field. The remaining funds will be used as fee. E.g: If your address has 0.015BTC, you can put 0.014BTC in the
"Amount" field and the fee will be 0.001BTC (0.015 - 0.014);
5. Submit and copy the raw transaction;
6. Go to the "Sign" tab (at Coinb.in);
7. Paste the private key from the address you choose when creating the Time Locked Address.
8. Paste the raw transaction you just created.
9. Submit, copy the signed transaction and push it to the network (you can do it in the Broadcast tab).
10. Transaction sent!
13623  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bittrex withdrawal issue on: December 26, 2017, 04:02:39 PM
How much are you trying to withdrawal?

IIRC, Bittrex charges a fee of 0.025 NEO for every withdrawal, and NEO isn't divisible. Try to request a withdrawal of X.025 NEO.
13624  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Addresses from Same wallet on: December 26, 2017, 10:41:16 AM
You can't really know. What you can try to do is link multiple addresses to the same wallet by using tools/websites like this one[1]. But that's all.

13625  Other / Meta / Re: password incorrect error in login on: December 26, 2017, 10:13:58 AM
No. I believe that when you get banned, you still can log in and there will be a message at the top of the screen saying that you have been banned.

Either you've forgotten your password, or you've been hacked.
13626  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger Nano S apps re-installed on: December 26, 2017, 09:42:52 AM
Are you asking if your 24 word recovery phrase is still valid after being used? Yes.

You can restore your wallet as many times as you want and the seed will always be the same.
13627  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: who can explain this? on: December 25, 2017, 03:00:02 PM
Thanks but the question is...how or when i get back  BTC on my blockchain wallet?
The blocktrail node already decided that your transaction is taking too long to confirm and removed it from its mempool. Wait until the Blockchain.info node do the same, as they have been configured to wait a little bit more before "giving up" on unconfirmed transactions.
13628  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger Nano S hardware wallet technical question... on: December 25, 2017, 02:54:09 PM
1) Even if adress A is not proposed for the 2nd transfer , do we agree I can still send to adress A without any issue ? (I think so but just to be sure).
Yes. You can receive any amount in any address whenever you want without any issue.

2) If after both initial transfers (0.01 on adress A and 0.01  on adress B), I decide to transfer 0.015 fronm the Ledger NAno S to another website or to someone :
how does the hardware wallet deal with that in terms of fees Huh Does it imply 2 transactions because to have the total sent it requires sending for example 0.01 from adress A and 0.005 from adress B....
Does it mean that you have double fees costs Huh
Ledger will include both addresses coins in the same transaction. You won't need to pay more than you would have if you only had one address.

But it will cost more than an address with a single transaction because you will have to spend 2 inputs (the 0.01 and 0.005), and more inputs/outputs = bigger transaction = more fees.

13629  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Why is this happening to exchanges? Please do help! on: December 25, 2017, 02:39:16 PM
Most people I see recommending Binance are only doing that because of their referral system (50% of your friend's commission).

But I honestly believe that they are the best exchange right now. No downtimes, ok support (AFAIK), wide variety of coins (every coin I trade is available there)

Yobit is one of the shittiest exchanges I've ever had the displeasure to use.
Shapeshift is ok if you want to trade between two assets without having to do too much work.
13630  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Lost seed / lost smarfphone - 2fa wallet Electrum on: December 25, 2017, 04:04:48 AM

Is the 2FA done using Google auth or a phone number?
If it's a Google auth and you don't have a backup of the secret key or the app's data somewhere then you're coins are gone.
It's obviously that OP is talking about the 2FA service provided by TrustedCoin - which only has support for OTP 2FA.

Sorry OP. But without the seed or 2FA code, your coins are most likely gone Undecided
13631  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum nearly gave me a heart attack on: December 24, 2017, 09:01:09 PM
The remaing 0.228 (the change) was sent to your change address inside the Electrum wallet. That's a normal behavior.

13632  Other / Meta / Re: Is there a way to turn off sig banners? on: December 24, 2017, 08:30:38 PM
I believe that this script stills works: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1003570.0

Other than that, you can only choose between disable all signatures or none at all (even the text ones will be disabled).

Profile -> Look and Layout Preferences -> Don't show users' signatures.
13633  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How much in advance should I send BTC to cold storage before fork? on: December 24, 2017, 08:25:01 PM
Those exchanges are all unpredictable. The may send your coins at the same hour/day or keep them stuck due to the huge backlog of withdrawal requests or number of users. If I was you, I would take your coins and keep them in a desktop wallet as soon as possible and wait for the fork.
13634  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Electrum-XVG 2.4.1 wallet will not connect, please help on: December 24, 2017, 08:09:49 PM
I have the same problem .. I hope i havent lost my verge coins -.-
Just search your address in the Verge block explorer[1]. If you see any balance there, then you have your coins. The only issue that not connecting to the server may cause is: you can't see your transactions, balance and spend your coins.

13635  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Electrum-XVG 2.4.1 wallet will not connect, PLEASE Help! on: December 24, 2017, 07:42:34 AM
Someone had this same issue early today and this fixed it:

There are some issues with the default servers. Try to use the server 83.169.38.218 (just paste it in the first textbox), then wait a little bit and see if it works.
13636  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum + Keylogger + TrustedCoin on: December 23, 2017, 11:22:58 PM
So with 2fa enabled you still can access the account only with the seed ?
Yes.

From the Electrum FAQ:
Quote
Even if TrustedCoin is compromised or taken offline, your coins are secure as long as you still have the seed of your wallet. Your seed contains two master private keys in a 2-of-3 security scheme. In addition, the third master public key can be derived from your seed, ensuring that your wallet addresses can be restored. In order to restore your wallet from seed, select “wallet with two factor authentication”, as this tells Electrum to use this special variety of seed for restoring your wallet.

As soon as you use your seed to restore your wallet, you can disable 2FA entirely and keep using without it.
13637  Economy / Services / Re: [FREE / PAID] Btc.help Bitcoin Transaction Accelerator on: December 23, 2017, 07:59:44 PM
Great! A new ConfirmTX scam without any evidence that can accelerate transactions Smiley

99% scam. PLEASE DON'T SEND ANY MONEY TO THIS BULLSHIT WEBSITE.
13638  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is having USDT the most efficient way to buy altcoins during dips? on: December 23, 2017, 07:49:11 PM
Im asking about the best way to have money on hand to buy altcoins at dips.  Yes i know btc is the best bet.  But other coins can multiply much more than btc because btc is already high.

So i want to know those people who buy dips on altcoins, is what i described the best way to do this?
Most of the exchanges don't have USDT pairs to every coin (E.g: Poloniex).

What most people do is buy bitcoin, send them to the exchange and buy the coins. Simple as that.
13639  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: cant restore my wallet with Electrum on: December 23, 2017, 11:57:04 AM
You can only store your Verge on a verge wallet. Download your verge wallet at: https://vergecurrency.com
Exactly... the Electrum forked version for Verge which is the only one that can be found at the website. lol

but when i go on restore and type in the names i cant click on the next button
like there is something missing
How many words are you writing? There should be 9.

Why can't you open your wallet? The wallet isn't there or Electrum isn't opening?

Go to %appdata%/Electrum-XVG/wallets and see if there is any file there. If there is:

1. First backup it because that's your wallet.
2. Open it with a text editor and copy the "seed" string found at the bottom.
3. Check if this seed is the same as the one you tried to write before.
13640  Bitcoin / Mycelium / Re: Mycelium 2.0 HD - Welcome to the future on: December 23, 2017, 11:43:16 AM
Might want to use a legacy (static) address for that, especially with fees so high now.
Why? I thought multiple addresses didn't increase the fee because multiple payments are always counted as a new input regardless of the number of different addresses?
