141  Other / Meta / Re: Merry Christmas to the Forum on: December 25, 2023, 02:12:05 PM
This is my third time celebrating Christmas with you all on the forum.
I can't imagine I'd already had 7 times celebrating a Yuletide season here and I'm grateful that long that has been here.
How about those members older than me, just wanted to hear how long they are here.

Merry Christmas to all of us even though few aren't Christians, greetings from my family to yours.
I hope everyone enjoys their long holiday and vacations.
142  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dascoin Big Scam on: December 23, 2023, 11:56:33 PM
Who else invested in Dascoin which some scammers promoted as the next Bitcoin Grin Grin Grin . I was stupid to accept their lies those days. I am new to Crypto I had no idea
A costly lesson to learn, and I hope this will not happen again in the future.

The concept of the project is a scam to me, ehh next to Bitcoin?  Sounds not good.
This isn't new in most scam projects, we heard a lot of projects trying to be next to Bitcoin but they end up crashing bringing investors money.

Now you've realized that no one can replace Bitcoin, you should give full support to that coin, not those shitcoins.
143  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Shouldn't Deposits Into A Wallet Show Under Transactions? on: December 23, 2023, 11:49:29 PM
When he used API in sending you the bitcoin, did you received it into your wallet, if not then he must be playing some prank actually on you, on a normal way, when you receive a bitcoin transaction, you will be notified through your email in case you're using a centralized exchange, or you can see the transaction details through the wallet transaction history if you're using a non custodial wallet.

When he used API in sending you the bitcoin, did you received it into your wallet
I received it in my Ziraxia wallet, but the transaction history is empty.
I don't know how API works in sending funds to another wallet but it could be an off-chain transaction since there's no transaction history.
Might they see that there's a huge fee upon sending or transferring Bitcoin so they use off-chain transactions that are commonly used in the same wallet?

If this Ziraxia wallet is open-source, exporting to another wallet is an available option?
It might good idea if you will export it into another wallet to see if there's a real Bitcoin that you receive not a prank.
144  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is leading crypto exchanges in 2024? on: December 23, 2023, 10:59:41 PM
Honestly, this is the first time I am hearing about this exchange named FMCPAY and how come this comes under list of world's largest crypto currency exchanges?
I noticed this upon reading OP, asking myself upon seeing the last option list.
I hadn't encountered that exchange before and I think is trying to shill that exchange here in the forum and trying to mislead us by giving the list of leading crypto exchanges by next year.

There are tons of crypto exchanges right now, but none of them are considered good.
Even the top crypto exchange Binance has fraud issues and does not trust their safu.

Tell me, how can a 2-year-old exchange become a leading exchange?
145  Other / Off-topic / Re: Crypto is a scam on: December 22, 2023, 11:55:12 PM
I tend to agree above of my post.
Though it has the potential to offer new opportunities and break down certain barriers, it's not a silver bullet that can automatically uplift everyone's financial situation.

The very important in this field are skills and knowledge so that you will not get scammed.
Because scammers are commonly there of those who offer potential financial opportunities.
146  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin is the #1 crypto currency in the world if it's slow and expensive? on: December 22, 2023, 11:30:35 PM
I know it's hard to compare a slice of pizza to a whole pizza.
This slice of pizza is Ripple and the whole pizza is Bitcoin, why?  Ripple has been combating the legal issue and this legal battle has created obstacles and hindered Ripple's growth.  It's hard to keep and adopt centralized cryptocurrency.

While Bitcoin is purely decentralized, no one can stop it.
Though the problem is the high fees and I think the Lightning Network was a great solution, but the problem is its adoption is not widespread.
However, it doesn't matter now which is why it gained mainstream attention and is often considered a store of value when it has a slow and expensive transaction fee.

As we saw, there are thousands of altcoins trying to alternate the Bitcoin network problem, but only Bitcoin truly gives security and has a decentralized nature.
147  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gifted wife with bitcoin money on birthday and wife happily gifted BTC logo on: December 22, 2023, 11:01:33 PM
People around and love us know what our likes and dislikes are, I often experienced this when I received a cake on my birthday with a Bitcoin logo or a birthday cake with a Bitcoin design because they know I value and love Bitcoin.

The same as OP, because you know that your wife loved Bitcoin so much that's why she gifted you Bitcoin.
I know how Bitcoin helped us regarding financial matters that's why we value it so much, I'm happy to hear your story that I experienced too.

I hope you know will about Bitcoin and how to keep it in a secure place, next time, you can buy a hardware wallet where to keep your Bitcoin.
148  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Calculating Profit or Loss on: December 19, 2023, 11:59:35 PM
Try this formula.

Percentage gain or loss=(Initial account balance/Difference)×100

To find the Difference, subtract the Initial account balance from the Final account balance.

So if the result is positive, that's a percentage gain, and if it's negative, that's a percentage loss.
149  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin create an opportunity to reduce poverty? on: December 19, 2023, 11:45:45 PM
El Salvador is a  pretty poor country and they adopted Bitcoin a few year ago - did it improve the lives of average citizens? Most likely not.
That's exactly what I'm thinking of.
As an example, the first country adopted Bitcoin as a legal tender, I didn't hear that most of their people improved through Bitcoin.  The fact is, that Bitcoin was created because of financial freedom against banks and to become a peer-to-peer transaction.  It wasn't also promised an earning when it was first introduced.

As they can see Bitcoin has experienced significant price increases since its inception in 2009 (the day was created).  Many early adopters and investors have seen substantial returns on their investments and the historical performance has led to this perception that investing in Bitcoin can be a lucrative opportunity.  That's might their reason.
150  Economy / Exchanges / Re: PSA: Vulnerability found in OKX iOS app on: December 19, 2023, 11:13:33 PM
This wallet seems new to my ears now, I didn't know this wallet before.
Based on what I've found upon searching, a lot of users on Reddit posted that this wallet I've mentioned was scammed.  So no wonder if they'll end up closing their wallet when they bankrupt soon.

Thank you for bringing up this topic here.
For those holders who have fund in that wallet might need to transfer them right now to another wallet that you have full control of.
We've already reputable non-custodial wallets like Electrum, there's no need to experiment with others.
151  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When do you take out your investment when in profit? on: December 19, 2023, 10:50:31 PM
What does everyone else do when it comes to altcoins?
It depends on the utility of the new altcoin, if I saw the opportunity, I never sell it even though it reached 5x profit because I know it will not crash if that altcoin has a potential when it comes long long-term holding.  But if I found out that the price of those altcoins was made by the pump and dump group that creates hype and there's no clear utility, that's the sign that you need to sell them once there's a profit.

I have been in years in this forum and in the crypto space, and I know altcoins that after being listed on the exchange will eventually die and won't survive especially those meme coins.
152  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to get 1 eth or 1 btc on: December 18, 2023, 11:58:41 PM
A modern way?

Apologize but I didn't get your question, you might mean how to buy 1 ETH or 1 BTC.

If you aren't afraid of KYC and don't care about your privacy, trusted centralized exchanges are the best way to buy your Bitcoin or ETH.
But if you hate KYC, DEX is the best for you.
153  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The most difficult times on: December 18, 2023, 11:40:07 PM
Trading is never been simple an something that you could really be able to take grasps on, in a short period of time on which it would really be just that so normal that you would really be spending up some
time for you to be able to have a good understanding on how this market behaves and how it works and on how you should react.
I tend to agree, it takes your precious time.
For my part, it took years before I entered the battlefield in trading, but it doesn't guarantee that I've always been in a win-win situation.
I've also encountered losses and difficulties despite that long experience.

Until such time it comes into my mind, why I need to put in a high risk in daily trading if holding in a long term also can obtain profit.
There's no easy way of making money in trading, as I see, even experts may experience certain losses too.
154  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin market is like other markets, has its cycle. Focus on its cycle! on: December 18, 2023, 11:27:37 PM
It's a good graph comparison, thank you for providing this.
It shows always that the market always repeats itself.

Holding long term is the best idea to wait for a better result after the next cycle of the Bitcoin price pump but the problem is there's no time frame when you will get your profit and this usually might other facing of.  Dont let yourselves be drawn to the daily hustle of trading, just wait for this cycle and make a profit.

This reminds newbies of the importance of taking a long-term perspective rather than risking their assets daily on trading.
155  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How much human supervision do you believe AI needs for crypto trading? on: December 18, 2023, 12:00:01 AM
Using AI to predict the crypto price for trading isn't an ideal one.
But if you say AI can be used as a tool in trading might sound good.

In predicting the crypto price, there are too many factors to consider for us as a trader, using FA and TA would be the very common ones.
But AI relies only on historical data for training and has a limited dataset.  So, I don't believe or use AI in predicting price but as a tool in trading, it would be.
156  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: RBF. What are the dangers of making it mandatory for all Transactions? on: December 17, 2023, 11:45:04 PM
Why is RBF not by default for all Transactions on the Blockchain?
IMO, it was designed to be simple for users.
Enabling RBF by default would introduce additional understanding of it, and many users may not fully understand the implications of RBF and this could lead to confusion and unintentional use of the feature, potentially resulting in issues like double-spending which usually happens when someone commits fraud.

That's why it's always advisable to wait for the transaction until at least 6 confirmations considering is a safe transaction that can't be canceled by bumping fee.  As we can see, not all wallets support RBF, and because developers think this might be misused.
157  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance Issues Important Warning as It Plans to Perform Wallet Maintenance on: December 17, 2023, 11:01:44 PM
..assuring them that “funds are safu”,
There's no real SAFU, that's a part of their marketing ads.
However, this isn't new for them.  AFAIK, this Binance was implemented before changing the user's wallet address for safety.

I think Binance did this for their customer security, but if you're going to ask me, I'd rather store my coins in a wallet that is under my control than a centralized exchange like Binance.  Don't give full trust in SAFU.
158  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 20,000 btc moved on: December 16, 2023, 11:59:09 PM
Hey
Breaking

Repeat slowly after me:
Nobody gives a fuck!

LOL  Cheesy
Yeah, Who cares!  Grin

This isn't new, there's a lot of big transactions that we keep seeing especially if you follow the Whale_alert Twitter account.

Most likely, it was from an exchange wallet moving their coins to another wallet, and nothing to worry about.
159  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Having issues with BPIP on: December 16, 2023, 11:44:16 PM
From how long it has been down because I checked it one or two days back and it was working fine but yeah the DDOS attack is the reason and it's for all of us.This is really helpful site so hope it comes live soon after the issue is resolved.
Last night (7 hours ago) I can't access the site.
Upon opening my account here in the forum I wondered why I couldn't see the BPIP features on my profile account like, my BPIP rank member and DT level which is the reason why I downloaded the web extension on my browser.  I encountered the same on the OP image shown.

But now it works.

Just curious now, is the DDoS attack safe on browser extensions?
160  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Nowhere is safe part 2 on: December 16, 2023, 11:32:13 PM
Different hacks happened and also different stories of why they are hacked, the main problem is lack of knowledge.
If you're knowledgeable in technical matters plus using decentralized, I often heard of hack incidents.

Yes, I tend to agree, that nowhere is safe in crypto and everything is prone to hacking especially when we're connected to the internet but we can minimize risk when we are fully aware of those risks.  Negligence is one of the primary subjects why people keep getting hacked nowadays, especially newcomers.
