OP has been reading but not replying.   Hopefully that doesn't mean WW3.  Sad
142  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Ambulance - Campaign - Ukraine on: May 04, 2024, 11:37:01 PM
~snip~
Has Theymos replied?   If he's not going to use the $billions to develop bitcoin, he should remember some donators are Ukrainian.  There is NO reason why he cannot donate 1,000 bitcoin TODAY and get a tax receipt for it.    (If he is concerned about taxes that is).

You misquoted, I didn't ask the question, so I can't answer that question. However, according to what is publicly known, the admin will very likely never take sides with any public donation, because that would surely anger the most numerous and active members of the forum.

Sorry about that - I take those mistakes seriously and I have corrected it.

If Theymos was not going to donate the funds and he was not going to use them to improve bitcoin, why did he ask for donations and sell so much advertising?   Answer: Embezzlement
143  Other / Meta / Suggestion for new information in poster info on: May 04, 2024, 04:17:53 AM
(Note:  If this takes more than $1,000,000 to implement, please ignore!)

Newbies so often start threads and then abandon their account when conversations do not go their way.   Then other newbies come along and reply to the OP that hasn't been online for weeks.

It would be nice to have a notice near the name if the user has not logged in a while.  i.e: (Inactive for 6 days).  Could just be for newbies, or for every topic starter.

The warning "This post is xx days old!" does not address this issue.
144  Economy / Reputation / Re: Do you know enough of what you have been told? on: May 04, 2024, 04:11:28 AM
Do we need new threads to draw attention to or away from something?  If you need a wall of text, people will not read.  Why can't people continue the old discussion?

(I know I'm hypocritical, since I used to do the same thing.)
145  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Suddenly I'm curious, do I need to pay taxes on Bitcoin income? on: May 04, 2024, 02:03:46 AM
CoinDesk is reporting that Roger Ver is being charged with tax fraud. This will be an interesting case to watch as I’m sure the government would love to come after anyone who used Bitcoin early on for whatever they can. Tax fraud is pretty serious though and would mean he knowingly lied on his returns. This will be a case to watch for sure.

That's how Al Capone got taken down...what route will OGNasty take?

Will he claim he didn't need to pay taxes because he wasn't a retailer of the coins (lol)?
Will he claim he didn't need to pay because his home improvements were ponzi improvements?
What we he say about his forced donations on the tax evasion scam he is still promoting?

Will he claim he paid taxes on the 6,000 bitcoin he made on his ponzi, but claims he did not?   That will be be an interesting one to follow.  The SEC has blockchain proof he got the coins - will the IRS subpoena that?

Why do Democrats always accuse others of doing what they’re trying to do?

There is no way you have the morals to be a Democrat.   Undecided

It may seem like nonsense to some, but Europe is really defending itself in Ukraine, but Europe itself and the rest of the world, in my opinion, have done too little to help the people of Ukraine.

Europe is waking up and realizing Putin will not stop in Ukraine.   The French (and others) can either fight in Ukraine or fight in their home cities.  Ukraine is already a wasteland - we should do our fighting there.

Thank you for your information and I will write to Theymos and maybe he will be enthusiastic about it, because it is very important for these people there in the Ukraine.
Let us know what he says.  I am Ukrainian.  Smiley

149  Economy / Speculation / Re: Something is seriously wrong with bitcoin markets. No liquidity? Should we sell? on: April 30, 2024, 11:26:56 PM
Don't sell yet.   The price should max out Wednesday evening, after which Trump goes back to court.   BTC does not like reality.  :/

If this is live and accepting deposits, please move it from PD to the gambling section.

Hopefully people are migrating to a community that wants to improve bitcoin, not hoard it.  Smiley

The price will fall if it's not being used.

Maybe the FBI members here could raise their heads and start posting. Smiley

These are the people who have the most good reports over the last year:
| actmyname               |        38580 |

(I know this is an old thread, but never data not available)

That is one report every 10 mins, 7 days a week. (assuming 8 hours sleep per day)

Edit:  Been watching this for five minutes.   Dude just does not take a break!

Sorry guys, this forum discriminates against small level members, so your posts don't get attention from popular members.

Wrong.  Smiley

JG has left you neutral trust, which should not affect you.  You can't demand he changes the way he thinks; all you can do is try to convince him through actions.

I caught an escrow scammer once.  I sent a message to the scammer, and his main account replied seconds later.   He left the forum after I caught him, but then came back during my hiatus.
155  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Seeking Innovators: Developers and Marketers on: April 29, 2024, 05:31:19 PM
why would you place the most important information on the site beneath when it should be on top and very visible for visitors.

I guess you are not intuitive enough, and you cannot be helped.   Undecided

Vaporware such as this depends on the leadership.   This person is not a salesman and should stop posting if he wants people to think he is serious.

I'm getting a white page at the root.  Some of the pages listed above still work.
157  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Compiling KeyHunt_Cuda with gpu support on: April 29, 2024, 12:08:47 AM
You should move this to tech support, in case others have the same problem.
158  Economy / Reputation / Re: DT1 and DT2 members who have negative feedback (or are banned) on: April 28, 2024, 06:46:39 AM
How do you sort this list?
The order comes from my complete overview of users on DT1 and DT2 and their ratings: first DT1, then DT2. Both categories are sorted by username.

You mean usernumber.  Smiley   OK, I see it now, thx.
159  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Seeking Innovators: Developers and Marketers on: April 28, 2024, 05:14:31 AM
You are right, it would be a good practice to renew domain ownership for 10 years in advance, but on the other hand, if the project makes a profit within the first year, which at least pays for the costs of maintaining the project, then why should it stop working? If within a year we are unable to recoup the project at least for its maintenance, then most likely a. the project is not relevant at all, b. project management leaves much to be desired - which already makes it pointless in terms of profitability, no?

Exactly.  So anyone that purchases now may lose their money come registration time.

You could include a smart contract for payment, which pays you you over a set number of years.    If your site continues, you will get paid, but if it doesn't, the remainder gets sent back.
160  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Seeking Innovators: Developers and Marketers on: April 28, 2024, 03:33:05 AM
You should register the domain for ten years then - you cannot get that money back by cancelling early, so it provides a little more protection.

Right now if you have not made enough money and your launch fails, you will simply not renew the domain - why throw good money after bad?
