You misquoted, I didn't ask the question, so I can't answer that question. However, according to what is publicly known, the admin will very likely never take sides with any public donation, because that would surely anger the most numerous and active members of the forum. Sorry about that - I take those mistakes seriously and I have corrected it. If Theymos was not going to donate the funds and he was not going to use them to improve bitcoin, why did he ask for donations and sell so much advertising? Answer: Embezzlement |

Newbies so often start threads and then abandon their account when conversations do not go their way. Then other newbies come along and reply to the OP that hasn't been online for weeks.
It would be nice to have a notice near the name if the user has not logged in a while. i.e: (Inactive for 6 days). Could just be for newbies, or for every topic starter.
The warning "This post is xx days old!" does not address this issue.

CoinDesk is reporting that Roger Ver is being charged with tax fraud. This will be an interesting case to watch as I’m sure the government would love to come after anyone who used Bitcoin early on for whatever they can. Tax fraud is pretty serious though and would mean he knowingly lied on his returns. This will be a case to watch for sure.
That's how Al Capone got taken down...what route will OGNasty take? Will he claim he didn't need to pay taxes because he wasn't a retailer of the coins (lol)? Will he claim he didn't need to pay because his home improvements were ponzi improvements? What we he say about his forced donations on the tax evasion scam he is still promoting? Will he claim he paid taxes on the 6,000 bitcoin he made on his ponzi, but claims he did not? That will be be an interesting one to follow. The SEC has blockchain proof he got the coins - will the IRS subpoena that? |

It may seem like nonsense to some, but Europe is really defending itself in Ukraine, but Europe itself and the rest of the world, in my opinion, have done too little to help the people of Ukraine.
Europe is waking up and realizing Putin will not stop in Ukraine. The French (and others) can either fight in Ukraine or fight in their home cities. Ukraine is already a wasteland - we should do our fighting there. Thank you for your information and I will write to Theymos and maybe he will be enthusiastic about it, because it is very important for these people there in the Ukraine.

I caught an escrow scammer once. I sent a message to the scammer, and his main account replied seconds later. He left the forum after I caught him, but then came back during my hiatus. |

You are right, it would be a good practice to renew domain ownership for 10 years in advance, but on the other hand, if the project makes a profit within the first year, which at least pays for the costs of maintaining the project, then why should it stop working? If within a year we are unable to recoup the project at least for its maintenance, then most likely a. the project is not relevant at all, b. project management leaves much to be desired - which already makes it pointless in terms of profitability, no?
Exactly. So anyone that purchases now may lose their money come registration time. You could include a smart contract for payment, which pays you you over a set number of years. If your site continues, you will get paid, but if it doesn't, the remainder gets sent back. |

You should register the domain for ten years then - you cannot get that money back by cancelling early, so it provides a little more protection.
Right now if you have not made enough money and your launch fails, you will simply not renew the domain - why throw good money after bad?
