I'm not that professional.

You mean you don't have the skills to do that.  Smiley

362  Economy / Reputation / Re: What privileges does LoyceV have? on: January 14, 2024, 05:36:15 PM
Knowing Loycev’s passion for keeping logs, we can assume that he collects the email addresses of users who contacted him for whitelisting.

LoyceV has a passion for parsing data for future use.

You can assume whatever you want (ass) but you should be more concerned about the forum administrator, who can collect very private information, and has used it to scam.
363  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Dice machine on: January 14, 2024, 03:50:28 PM
I come up with idea to build a dice machine that will mix the dice and have video camera broadcasting, so people would see that.

You think that would work?

Why not simply base the dice off of a known hash of a known value, such as the current time down to the ms?

You will always get accusations of cheating, since a live feed cannot detect other scams, such as weighted dice.

His capabilities on the forum clearly exceed those of the average user.

Absolutely they do.   But he has no extra access or information you do not.
366  Economy / Reputation / Re: Vod is a liar & extortionist. Get him out of DT! on: January 14, 2024, 03:14:08 AM
Except the ones that were valueless and theymos didn’t want sent back, which are still sitting at the address because it isn’t worth my time to deal with.

7+btc worth of stolen forked coins, and he calls them "valueless".   Meanwhile his victims are starving.  :/

367  Other / Meta / Re: Ask Ninja: Backup up PMs on: January 13, 2024, 03:18:51 PM
Allow a person to then edit the PM/file, redacting what they do not want public.  They could use a strikeout or some other code.  Then they repeat the process with you with a different option, or forward the PM to your bot, and you reparse.   You remove all the strikethrough, and compare the checksum.  If it's valid, you can re-save the file without the strikethrough and post the new checksum.
That could work, but it makes it easy to take things out of context. See what's left if you remove the strike through text here.

Redacted documents are used in court regularly without such fear.  Your example could come out as:
********** work, but ************************************************** strike ******** here.
not
work, but strike here.

That measurement is at the airport, where wind makes a big difference.

We are forecast to be the coldest place on the planet; this after a record breaking warm start to winter.

AI needs to develop a way to drill a few km down and take advantage of free thermal energy.

@Vod What was the practical use you had in mind for this type of solution?

I mentioned in my last post that I know there is a lot of valuable data people want to keep in those messages.  In case something happens to those messages, it would be nice to have a backup.

Quote
You can prove authenticity of any PM, even after deleting it from your inbox, to anyone who trusts me (and my bot). You'll have a file, I'll have a checksum. The checksum doesn't even need to say who it's from, that will be in the file.

You could go a step further:
Allow a person to then edit the PM/file, redacting what they do not want public.  They could use a strikeout or some other code.  Then they repeat the process with you with a different option, or forward the PM to your bot, and you reparse.   You remove all the strikethrough, and compare the checksum.  If it's valid, you can re-save the file without the strikethrough and post the new checksum.

You could make a commercial enterprise out of this.  Part 1 module for bitcointalk and Part 2 core redaction code.  It can even be secured further by using a cloud service so everything is alway encrypted even to you and your bot - no trust necessary.  Smiley

370  Economy / Reputation / Re: OGNasty and Theymos ongoing scams (Latest lie: Jan 12, 2024) on: January 13, 2024, 11:24:13 AM
OGNasty is now claiming he did not steal 7btc worth of forked coins.
Technically, these funds came from airdropped coins, not Fork coins.

Airdropped to forked coins?  Doesn't matter - terminology is for lawyers to make money.  Smiley

No, after the major coins were transferred to me, ownership of any remaining forkcoins went to OgNasty.

And as this link shows, it's a conservative estimate.

That's another precedent that will have to be set by the courts.  Is the value of the coins at the time of theft, the time of discovery, or the time of judgement?
371  Other / Off-topic / Re: Using A Crypto Recovery Service on: January 13, 2024, 08:58:11 AM
Using a crypto recovery service can be helpful if you have lost access to your cryptocurrency wallet or funds. Here are some steps to consider when using a crypto recovery service:

Nope.  Scammers love crypto because when properly planned, it is untraceable and irreversible.  If one falls for a crypto scam, they are most likely to be scammed again.  A CRS takes advantage of this market.

They will not do any work for you unless there is a chance for recovery (i.e. you have a password pattern you can give them) and it's large enough for them to bother.   If they manage to recover anything, they will vanish with your coins.

If you have an idea what the password could be, go with a service that requires a set fee upfront through a licensed payment processor.   However if you want to remain anonymous while recovering your coins, you probably lose more.

372  Other / Off-topic / Re: Creating App For Google Admob Earnings on: January 13, 2024, 06:12:55 AM
Hello everyone!

Please I need information as regards to Google Admob Earnings, I met an old friend who told me about Google Admob, he said I'll pay him a certain amount of money then he'll create an app for me and link it to Google. And Google will start paying me whenever I click the app.

I don't know how true this is, I think he is trying to used my head but I searched on Google and I saw something related to this and I'm a bit confused!

Re the bolded part.

You will enter a virtual war with Google where they will try and automatically locate other devices and accounts tied to you, and you will need to be extra vigilant to stay hidden.   It's difficult because it's stealing from advertisers!   If you have something that people find interesting, you can use this service.   Otherwise, make sure you don't have any info you need to keep on Google services.    Justice is automated and irreversible.

Your old friend is trying to scam you; the only person that will make money here is your old friend (your instinct is correct).  :/
373  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Revamped Version of Bitcoin with different Parameters on: January 13, 2024, 06:06:36 AM
Let me know your receiving address once you generate it on the new chain, and I will send you some free Bitcoins.

How many is some?    Give people an idea of how much you value their time.
374  Other / Meta / Re: Ask Vod: Backup up PMs on: January 13, 2024, 05:58:34 AM
Ask Vod first  Cheesy

You did coded it and published it.
Do you want a utility to save all your PMs?

No, if you follow the adventures in that thread, you'll read my one test subject could not get it working.   :/

I was also coding in windows, and people here don't want to run an executable.

Thanks Ninja!  You beat LoyceV to it (probably due to where the sun was) so I will change the title.

Edit:  LoyceV has a different PM tool:  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5386000.
375  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Crypto News Site Created Recently on: January 13, 2024, 05:55:25 AM
Even on gigabyte internet in an uncongested area, it still takes your website a few seconds to load.   I can imagine people with non-fibre would have it even worse, and people that have a lot of windows open and are going through VPN/TOR.

I understand the way you built it, and I like the design, but maybe you could add a loading indicator of some kind?

I also do not understand how such a page load affects Google, because that will affect your SEO.

376  Other / Meta / Re: Did you notice something a little weird? on: January 13, 2024, 03:55:04 AM
Yes, notice that but I don't think there's anything weird about it because it's a very short time.
Really?  How are you defining "short time" exactly, because I've noticed what OP's talking about for a long time now (usually when I'm doing post history reviews), and I could swear it's taken minutes sometimes before the merits I've sent are reflected in the recipient's count.

I think his merit database does not have the proper indexing.
377  Other / Meta / Ask Ninja: Backup up PMs on: January 13, 2024, 03:53:53 AM
Hey LoyceV, sorry to put you on the spot, but I think we could open up a new forum subseries called "Ask LoyceV".  Smiley

Would it be possible for you to write a quick script that could back up our private messages?  You mentioned once before it wouldn't be too difficult, and I know there is a lot of valuable data people want to keep in those messages.

OGNasty is now claiming he did not steal 7btc worth of forked coins.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5136576.msg63488694#msg63488694

With OGNasty - context is key.   He will show you the transaction when he returned the 500 btc, but not the ones where he forked the coins and kept them.

When the community discovered his theft, he returned some of the forked coins, and kept 7btc worth.   Theymos rewarded him for stealing the donated coins from community development.

They both speak of this in some detail.   Through their own words, not the blockchain, is how these scammers will go down.  Trust from Theymos is a sign you could be corrupt.

:/
379  Economy / Reputation / Re: Vod is a liar & extortionist. Get him out of DT! on: January 13, 2024, 03:34:37 AM
So it is who said she said case.

Based on a liar's word?  lol

Anyone can look up the transactions and see that he stole ALL the 500 BTC forked coins. If you look the address up on various block explorers you can also see where he sent the forked coins when Theymos asked for him back.

Anyone can look up his words that it was his right to steal those coins, and anyone can look up how illegal it was for Theymos to reward him for stealing.

We all understand why Theymos left OG positive trust; he believes the donated coins are his.  Thieves trust thieves.

This will end this year.  Smiley
380  Economy / Lending / Re: I need a $30 dollar loan until march 20th and will repay $55 on: January 12, 2024, 03:55:36 AM
The money will be use to buy food only

This means the money will not be used to make other money.

When it comes to pay back, you will still not have any money.   If you do have some money, you'll prob buy more food.  :/
