141  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][HLM] HELIUM - PRE NOTICE on: November 28, 2017, 10:23:51 PM
Is their currently any way to purchase the Helium pay coins or are the ones from the swap currently non-transferable?  Thanks!

Not transferable until HLM wallet is released. My estimate for masternode cost is probably 5 btc or more based on the emission rate and likelihood Helium will be a top 30 coin. I like predictions, lets see if im right.

I hope you're right! This project has more potential than most that came out this year. Let's hope the hype hits the fan and demand is high at launch!
I would be very happy if your predictions came true. But do you really think that the HLM will cost $50? Maybe, but only after 3-4 years.

Since i want to buy a some HLM for doing a MN, a expect low price at beginning Wink

5 BTC for a MN on a new currency is unrealistics oO

I also think that 5BTC to start is a lot, but to give an example Stratis masternodes cost ~125 BTC each.

Crown have priced their servicenodes at 0.085 BTC to encourage more people to participate, perhaps HLM will consider reducing the collateral requirement in time.

I actually really hope they choose the Master/Service node structure.  I like Crown for that very reason.  Spend a lot to have a Masternode that gives you governance rights in the decisions of the development, and service nodes that support the network but don't give you any rights.  Personally, I think that the HeliumPay team is strong and the concept is well layed out (obviously it COULD be an elaborate scam, it is crypto lol), but personally, I think HeliumPay, Crown, Phore, and Pirl are the best masternode coins for the long term right now.

The Masternode System/Servicenode model is what Coins101, me and the rest of the team decided upon at Spreadcoin hence why we implemented it into Crown last year. It was a Coins101 idea originally.  I'd be surpised if HLM doesn't have the same model when it launches.  It offers compelling benefits.

Just in case people missed it, Georgem posted an update of sorts on spreadcointalk.

Quote
Yes, as I have repeatedly said: development is continued!

Website is online, forum is online, I have a patreon account with 5 long term supporters that get a closer look at current development.

If more people want to support me to facilitate development, that would be a great help.

Thanks.

Meanwhile be patient so I can get everything in order.

The "exit scam" (too soon?) known as HLM (Helium) has left Spreadcoin with even more problems now.
As if it wasn't enough that the original SPR developer left a dead original thread and dead original github we can't access...
...we are now additionally tied to this HLM exit scam because of some unscrupulous PR-investors.
(At least that's what it starts to look like with every day that passes. But feel free to prove me wrong.)

Officially there is no problem, since I never promoted HLM on any website or forum that I control, since I realized from the start what HLM really is, but they still managed to create quite a loud mess.

We need to properly address all that through the official channels.

I'll do that in the coming updates.

Georgem

Also thanks for the kind words of support! We're working really hard behind the curtain (and in front of the curtain), so it's nice to hear people notice that Smiley

^ this.

Thank you very much. There is a lot of effort and passion for the project being expended here.  Always nice to hear some kind words.

Hi!

What is the difference btween Crown (CRW) and Crown-SN (CRW-SN)?

https://masternodes.online/currencies/CRW/
https://masternodes.online/currencies/CRW-SN/

First page in this thread talks about master nodes and system nodes.
It looks like a system node "Crown-SN" is both cheaper to get and have a higher ROI?

Is there a guide how to set up a system node on Linux?

Edit: found your home page with google:
https://www.crown.tech/systemnodes-vs-trons

Also found the wiki:
http://op.crownlab.eu/projects/crown-atomic/wiki/systemnode-setup-guide-windows-slash-linux-vps

I don't see CRW-SN available on Bittrex, only CRW.  Is it a BTC trading pair?  I don't see it listed on CoinMarketCap either.

CRW-SN means Crown Systemnodes - its still CRW on bittrex

Thanks for clarifying.  For a moment I thought the price of CRW was dropping because there was a new "forked" coin CRW-SN.  BTC-fork-a-mania is rampant at the moment.

I suspect that CRW is finally suffering some increased pressure from the BTC price hence the selling.

Crown Dev Team update:
-----------------------------------------------

We are working on the dns seed nodes, and sadly dns being what it is, those changes have not propregated through all dns caches and servers yet
we expect this to tak 24 - 48 hours

Temp solution:
go to this site and follow instructions (list is live node list)
http://api.node-vps.com/crown/getpeerinfo

Thanks a lot, that helped.
Even though i had to figure out how to add nodes through console.
To add nodes on your linux client use the following format:
Code:
crown-cli addnode 127.0.0.1:9340 add

Best regards,

Vox

Everything should be back to normal in a few hours. When the DNS changes have propagated you won't need to change anything.
147  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Electroneum a SCAM??? on: November 21, 2017, 09:32:00 PM
Actually nobody is forced to believe or invest in Electroneum. If you don't want it, just don't do it!

I am aware that there is a lot of FUD from monero lovers fearing that ETN might become a risk to there own investments.
There are also the complaints of the tech preachers who always want to have technical development in the middle of everything.

But I am sure that noone has to fear ETN. They will bring a lot of people from developing countries into the crypto market which will push every Monero wallet too.
and an innovation doesn't have to be pure technically. This is a huge experiment with a perma airdrop of coins to millions of people. Noone ever did it. Noone ever even thought of it. This is enough innovation for me. And I can't predict what will happen to exchange rates with this massive perma airdrop. But I am excited to watch it. I might lose my money I invested in it, but actually this is crypto. It is always a huge bet and a huge risk. That is what it makes it attractive to many people including myself.

Honestly, there’s too many rose-tinted glasses looking at this thing. There are some obvious questions that no-one has answered, like how giving coins to everyone is going to result in good intrinsic value, or why everyone is tolerating the wallet being offline for weeks (given that Ethermine EU went offline for a few hours and there was a massive ruckus) or how copying a codebase (not that there’s anything wrong with doing that) and some vague promises of mobile mining should result in a new coin?

The only thing I can see going for it is the massive hype and fanbase surrounding it might just be the one thing that saves it. It certainly won’t be it’s technical merit (you can’t dismiss technical in crypto, can you...). Anyway I have a little holding on that vague chance - I haven’t totally dismissed it, I’m just not buying into it as much as some of the big holders.
Well said. Indeed it is rose tinted glas. And I am not denying that I am holding quite a good portion of ETN so I am obviously interested in the success of this coin.
And I am not denying technical aspects. But look at BTC. If it was an ICO these days it would be a complete mess. It is slow, it has extraordinary fees,... Monero is a far better technical base compared to Bitcoin. Zero proof protocol is groundbreaking and ZEC is doing okish. But compared to the disruptive technology it is underperforming.
At this point you have to admit that there must be more than just simple technical questions.

I see the huge opportunities for many businesses like telecom companies. Imagine if an african Vodafone would preinstall the app on all of their smartphones. If ETN just has little value they might attract a lot of people to buy from this provider. Actually it could make the phone bill pay itself.
I am far away from expecting it to moon. I dont see anything near 1$ in the next years because of the huge inflation caused by the perma airdrop. It also will not make huge instant jumps from one day to another. But with this viral bombs they can deliver they have the potential to attract a huge amount of people which would lead to partnerships with other companies.

And if I am wrong I will buy myself a really expensive bottle of whiskey to help me through my depressions  Grin

Nice to see some sensible debate on this.

Question.  What about Electroneum's plans makes you think it can succeed where the hundreds of other projects that have attempted to crack the smart phone market have failed?

I mean, there are literally hundreds of projects with mobile wallets that work well.  Bitcoin for one! Transaction times too slow?  How about Dash?  Crown?  The list is endless.
148  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Electroneum a SCAM??? on: November 21, 2017, 08:48:48 PM
Oh dear.  Harry Redknapp has deleted his Electroneum tweet and is distancing himself from the project.

Maybe the Maria Sharapova news has freaked him out.
149  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SpreadCoin | Decentralize Everything (decentralized blockexplorer coming) on: November 21, 2017, 05:20:28 PM
...negativity of the project forking.

This is bullshit, Spreadcoin didn't fork.

Maybe its community did (although I still see lots of cockroaches lurking around, it's like they are not very happy with their new home (HLM) yet, ... Roll Eyes )

Spreadcoin didn't fork.

What happened is a small group of early SPR investors decided to take matters into their own hands, since they disagreed with the direction of Spreadcoin development.
(They always wanted a DASH-Clone, I want to create tools (spreadwallet, spreadminer, testnet-in-a-box) so I can solve the puzzle of creating a truly decentralized network of servicenodes)

Because this group didn't want to let go of their advantage of having accumulated millions of SPR during the past 3 years, they decided to do a coin swap to transfer their holdings to a new coin and keep the percentages of their portfolio intact.

That's that!
I guess everyone is happy now?  Grin

Still on track? 🤔

I assume that he's having a dig at his previous team mates, the ones who left Spreadcoin but went to Crown and didn't choose to go down the Helium path with Coins101.

For the record, we forked Bitcoin, used a few Dash peercoin and namecoin features whilst building some new ones, released our own flavour of masternode and servicenodes (over 2,500 set up and paying out!), implemented a new mining mechanism, built a testnet in a box, made a new wallet and are well on their way to fnishing an application platform API.  Their team has grown from 2 people to 23 people in that time and have a community of 500+ contributing people.  All under the rules that the project cannot be sold as an investment and must enable people's curiosity and creativity. Finally, our network provides over $50,000 every single month to community lead projects.

I have no idea what form Helium is going to take when it is finally released but I do know that it won't be just a Dash fork and will have achieved a lot more than SPR has in recent years. Even if that is just marketing (lets wait and see).

All that in HALF the time that Georgem has had to produce something for SPR.  And yet he still calls us brainless cockroaches who are simply following their balance sheets...

Am I trolling?  Perhaps. Would be nice to see him show his face around here though and if this sort of post encourages him to post then so be it.

All I can say is that make your findings before investing in an ICO, that's all

And consider the advice of people who know the industry.

DASH has 4500 nodes and a market cap of 3.4 bn US$

CRW has 2400 nodes and a market cap of 22 m US$ (1140 Tron Masternodes and 1260 SystemNodes)

The CRW node layer growing strong every day! Check out Crown statistics at CROWN.TODAY

But Dash is growing and why are you dumping your shitt coins to Bittrex .. CRW

Just so everybody knows, this is an alias of aamjanta.

I'm looking to buy a pretty big quantity of CRW.  Pm hours me if interested in promoting.Would prefer to trade on an exchange in order to sav utilizing escrow.e

I've been asked this question a lot lately.  My advice would be to place a buy wall at a price you think is right and give it a few days to see if somebody dumps into it. Maybe even post a message at mm.crownlab.eu to give people a heads up.  At a guess I'd say there there are a lot of masternode and systemnode earnings sloshing around...

As you say, best to keep everything on exchange if possible.
156  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CRW] CROWN (SHA256) | Atomic | Governance | Systemnodes | Masternodes | on: November 19, 2017, 04:02:02 PM
Bittrex wallet holds    1,069,374 CRW !!!
https://chainz.cryptoid.info/crw/#!wallets

It means they are ready to sold on the market. be careful and dont buy high.

The 500k one is Bittrex cold storage, not sure about the rest though.

EDIT:  I just took a look at the balance history of the Bittrex accounts and it seems that ~1m CRW have been on exchange for over 6 months now.  Looks like one whale has about 400k on exchange and about 750 people have the remainder of the bittrex balance to varying degrees.

Its notable to see that as a percentage of available coins, Crown has fewer coins on exchange than Dash and a few other major projects.
157  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CRW] CROWN (SHA256) | Atomic | Governance | Systemnodes | Masternodes | on: November 17, 2017, 10:03:23 AM
The tried adjustment of the market by certain personOrutes has led to numerousOrmost/all potential CRW traders moving on, hence the massive price drop. The only investors left are the ones accountable who're now needing to purchaseOrmarket their own orders in order to keep CRW from becoming delisted because of lack of exercise.if Crowncoin devs put half just as much work into marketing the gold coin rather than trying to manage the trade price - CRW would prosper.

You are recommending our long term strategy should be ONLY buy and sell Air?

Sorry, but our priorities are:

1. Focusing strong on the development of our Atomic key registration platform
2. Participating personally on Crypto conferences worldwide / growing our ambassador base
3. Bringing in partners who are beginning to build their businesses on Crown - big announcement in Spain coming in days
4. Marketing our development efforts in order to grow our community - a professional marketing company is helping us starting early next week.

Jan, that is a spam account trying to boost their post count. Just ignore.

FFS.  BCT must be at least 50% spam posts to boost account status now days.

I blame the various ICOs and projects that pay people to post on their threads and who pay botnets for retweets.

Can you point us in the right direction? Maybe get the ball rolling for us? I have never used cryptopia personally and wouldn't know where to start.
They're a growing exchange.  They ask for 25k USD for a guaranteed listing though.  They seem to list for free fairly often if they like the project.
That's kinda off the table for now Cheesy
But maybe they will like Crown if they're made aware...I'm looking at you "btct22"

Well, I've suggested it  Smiley  If that fails, here's the info as to how to get listed there https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/Paytopia

It's a really good exchange, if you haven't tried it, signup and buy some Crave to try it out  Grin

I hear it is a good exchange but we are not going to pay $28,000 to be listed on it!
