1401  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Discussion about holding BTC over alt on: February 24, 2022, 10:57:01 PM
IMO, the reason could be Bitcoin is hard to manipulate, the more Bitcoin becomes expensive and the bigger the market cap it's the hardest it's to manipulate it.  If you really compare these two coins why Elon Musk didn't manipulate Bitcoin over Dogecoin is just because the Market Cap is that is easy to manipulate if the coins have low ratings on it.

Past influencers and billionaires ignored BTC and hyped alt instead, what am I missing?.
Who else aside from Elon Musk?
AFAIK, not only influencers has been adopted Bitcoin, we have also a few countries has been legalized Bitcoin under their jurisdictions.
1402  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Become a Legendary on: February 22, 2022, 10:45:41 PM
I know to reach legendary members is not easy it will take a long time I also started now and have big dreams about how to really know this forum but I believe one day I will reach that goal [legendary] I don't know how long it will take over time and my knowledge here, many people will help me raise the rank as long as we really love this forum I think there are many friendly people here who can help move up the ranks because by looking at the quality value of our own posts, so don't be discouraged even at that time long time to break.
Those people who are you talking about are those merit sources which is they had merit allocation per month to distribute properly and make sure those who deserve to be ranked.  It's not helping, it's about how you deserve to be ranked based on your post history they will know if you are deserving to rank up.  If you're focused on bounty hunting, it will cause low chances to rank up.  So I tend to agree with the comment above of mine.
That will more depend on your actions and not on the time spent here.

However, good luck with the OP it's tougher to rank up these days you need to be more active catching more merits will depend on your action on how you are useful in the forum.
1403  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Paying for your taxi with Bitcoins !! on: February 22, 2022, 10:06:24 PM
That's good news but I'm sure this is an off-chain transaction since they use their own app.
You cant use your own noncustodial wallet for this because normally a Bitcoin will take up to 1 hour so maybe it is hard to wait at least 3 confirmations before they consider the transaction is safe.

But there's no clear statement of adoption in the article, it could be this becomes a rumor after all.
Or soon they accept the whole crypto but first, there will be a heavy KYC verification.
1404  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin likely won't recover until 2025 on: February 21, 2022, 11:59:44 PM
I can't make any decision yet but IMO, it's still unpredictable.

Bitcoin price has been proved that it will increase without knowing us and no one even predicted last year Bitcoin has been reached two times ATH.
So what crystal ball has been used by the co-founder of the Houbi exchange platform that he was able to predict the Bitcoin price?
It seems he makes this noise to become a popular one or for seeking attention.

1405  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Withdrwal issue with myetherwallet on: February 21, 2022, 11:46:23 PM
I am trying to withdraw the USDT in myetherwallet but everytime when I send transaction to my Binance USDT ERC 20 address then only the ETH gas fee gets deducted and USDT is not transferred. Any idea what's going wrong ?
I have experienced this problem because you've used a lower fee than the required gas fee to the ETH network.

To avoid this problem in the future here is the link that might help you to avoid it next time.
It seems wasting your gas fee if you force to transact even if lower than the required amount.
1406  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Words of advice on: February 21, 2022, 03:41:55 PM
Yea, just never trust anything in general. Especially when it comes to money. The only thing you're supposed to trust is in your judgment, and to do that, just do your own research. Always, check three times, and if you're still doubtful, check it again. The thing is, most people that get scammed are either pure carelessness or just simply because they are scared. Might be because of taking responsibility. Getting scammed really actually just gives them an excuse for their actions.
Can you tell me how they will legitimately check to avoid getting scammed?

IMO, to avoid this, just stay away from hunting money on airdrop or any bounty-related, or maybe every fancy token project had if you don't know technically how to check it.  If you will always go with Bitcoin there's no problem with it.

If I were OP, never trust those who have ads on social media, most of them are scams.
1407  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Trying to know more about crypto wallets on: February 21, 2022, 03:29:39 PM
1. Is there any proper place to keep your private keys?
Keep it offline. This means that a traditional pen and paper would be your best bet especially if you can't afforrd a metal seed plate[1] that are able to withstand threats that could cause physical damage (e.g., wear, tear, fire, water). Just don't forget to laminate the paper once you finished writing them down to preserve and increase the longevity of the paper.
IMO, I won't suggest to newbies this paper wallet as the Bitcoin wallet, because it's a very crucial part when you create this and if you don't have experience or knowledge, it could be your Bitcoin will be lost.  Though offline wallets are good like a paper wallet, instead of paper wallets maybe air-gapped is suitable for newbies and it's easiest to make.

If you can afford it to purchase, go directly on a hardware wallet, nothing will beat this kind of Bitcoin wallet.
All Bitcoin wallets are prone to scams and fraud because they will not work without the internet, so everything connected to the internet considerable can be hacked.  I'm satisfied with the Electrum wallet maybe you can try it, it's free, but don't forget first how to verify your Electrum app.
1408  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: scammers with their everyday strategies on: February 20, 2022, 11:59:09 PM
It's common everywhere in social media and I know myself and I'm oriented about crypto investment so I usually ignored them or I didn't reply to them.
In Facebook, Twitter, and the house of scammers in Telegram it is very common that they send you and PM first.  Good thing OP that you are already aware of a possible scam and you avoided it quickly.

As I always said, we should always have extra vigilant in every strange people over the internet, especially those random people who pop up our inbox sending a message to us and offering something about financial matters, all of them aren't trusted.
1409  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: what gives Bitcoin it value? on: February 20, 2022, 10:58:27 PM
As I understand it, its popularity is an indicator of price. If they forget, the price will drop very quickly.
There are too many factors for that and not only by popularity Bitcoin price will increase.
No one forgets the most valuable stuff in the crypto world, others forget their asset but they store their crypto-asset for storing value and hoping that someday it will become the most expensive assets make a profit on it.

The main factor is the limited supply of Bitcoin, which means it will make the price move by the demand and supply.  We know that every year Bitcoin has raised awareness and now becomes globally known and some are accepted Bitcoin as a legal tender.  So people or a community like us was the reason that Bitcoin has value.
1410  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Words of advice on: February 20, 2022, 10:49:35 PM
All of you've mentioned, an airdrop is very prone to scams and it's vulnerable to hacking.
If you really wanted to be an airdrop hunter, just separate your main wallet from the wallet that you've used in chasing airdrop even though when you want to connect your wallet to the dapp or any swapping platform always use a dummy wallet which is you shouldn't use your main wallet.

Be vigilant always as my advice, we never know who are those around us and what's their motive to us.
Store your seed in a safe place and threaten your crypto asset as your valuable stuff and maybe you're safe.
1411  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Kraken CEO give a heads up to carefully use CEX on: February 18, 2022, 11:48:15 PM
That's a good point and that's good to know that even the CEO of the exchange advises their users to use a noncustodial wallet for the safety of their assets.  Everything can be hacked and centralized exchange is vulnerable or prone to that hack.

He's right and even the CEO of the exchange is aware of possible hacks and if you don't have trust in the exchange you can pull out anytime your assets and store them in a safe place.  Still, the golden rule was there "Not Your Key, Not Your Coin".

Kraken exchange is good for trading not storing your assets and I don't even trust in P2P exchange.
1412  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Few lessons learned from my past to keep up with crypto on: February 18, 2022, 11:10:48 PM
You've been forgetting the most important one.
  • Aim profit target and have a game plan
  • Invest in what you can afford so that you can able to wait when your profit come

There are too many factors that you must consider and should learn.  I tend to agree above, practice is the best teacher and we should always learn from our mistake and avoid it in the future.  Your input will encourage newbies to manage their portfolios very well.
1413  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Lowest withdrawal fee for ETH? on: February 15, 2022, 11:59:10 PM
The same problem on my token that I wanted to sell but I don't have enough gas fee.

So in this case, it seems there's no other option is to have a small amount of Ethereum just to cover the fees.  There's no way that your USDT will out without Ethereum as your gas fee.

The same on me, I was hoping and keep monitoring the Gas tracker when the gas fee will become lower.
If you can hold just let your USDT sleep on that wallet and at least you know it's safe or else, you will sacrifice those losses just to get your fund and pay the high fees.
1414  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin failed to fulfill the purpose it was created for ? on: February 15, 2022, 11:45:23 PM
We all know that bitcoin is the king and father of all digital assets. Bitcoin was created for 2 purposes.

1. To be an alternative to fiat currency.
2. Stay free from govt control.
It could be yes.

1. Because people didn't want to spend their Bitcoin after they bought it, they prefer it to store a value which is hoping that the amount vs to dollar will increase and sell when they saw a profit.  Maybe 40% of it is used as an alternative currency the rest could be the holder which is they hold for profit.

2. As I can see in this case, those governments adopting Bitcoin are implementing their own regulations to the users but not directed to the Bitcoin itself and I think Bitcoin wasn't a failure in this case and it's still free from government control.  Different countries have a different approaches.
1415  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Support and Resistance on: February 15, 2022, 11:22:01 PM
This fundamental on trading is a MUST for me...
I tend to agree, it's good if you will combine the fundamental and technical analysis with the support and resistance prediction.
It's hard for me to draw technical support and resistance prediction IMO but seeing a thread like this will be a great opportunity to learn something about technical prediction or much better if we look also the fundamental side.

It's very helpful to the traders who understand the support and resistance, it gives a signal when you will execute the buy and sell action.
1416  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Have I made a grave mistake on: February 15, 2022, 10:55:41 PM
IMO, both iOS and android crypto wallets aren't safe, they are vulnerable to hacking and can be easy to access by cybercriminals.
But if you really compare both of them, I prefer the android crypto wallet and yes, it has more secure than the iOS wallet but is still not adviseable.

However, on other hand, it's not ideal to store them a huge amount because they are always connected to the internet as your daily use and it could be vulnerable for your crypto.  I suggest using a hardware wallet instead of android or iOS crypto wallets which isn't reliable at all upon storing your crypto.

You may find them at this thread, [BIG LIST] Hardware wallets (80+)
1417  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Almost Lost Bitcoins Recovered - Forgotten Wallet Details on: February 15, 2022, 03:24:07 PM
I wonder here what Bitcoin wallet Rhonda's have used, do you think it's a hardware wallet?  In 2013 maybe there's no hardware wallet and most of those wallets are custodial or a web wallet which is some of them has been lost their Bitcoin too because of their matters.

It's a good thing Rhonda was able to manage her wallet and solve the puzzle of his Bitcoin wallet and she risk his assets on random people on the internet that could be losing all of her money.  Another reason whether the story is true or not true is that this was a marketing strategy so that traders will encourage newbies about their company.
1418  Other / Meta / Re: changing the password be categorized as a trading account on: February 15, 2022, 02:34:20 PM
<snip>
If staking a btc address and signing a message with it thereafter will show the true ownership of an account, what happens if maybe I buy an account of Mr. A, and Mr. A didn't stake his address, me as the new owner now stake an address when I changed email and password. What happens here?
There are too many ways to determine of changing hand but for now, I noticed it hard to get proof on that case.  Maybe if they found out your old Bitcoin address that has been used and asks for a signed message, then you refuse to give it, it could be a sign too.  Changing posting habits, changing passwords, and an email address could be also a reason to suspect the account transfer to a new owner.

It could be categorized and you should be aware of this, if you have a plan to change your password, stake first your Bitcoin address here in the forum and it was already suggested above.  This is the reason I didn't change my password since I created this account and I'm very confident that my email address password is safe and no one access it.
1419  Other / Meta / Re: Sharing PM screenshots in forum posts, is it OK? on: February 15, 2022, 12:12:17 AM
I think it's okay and I have done this so many times.

AFAIK, Mods didn't see what's our conversations through PM not unless there's one of you who reported the PM.
I didn't see violating the rules not unless you're spamming a PM, IMO.
Maybe I suggest having a conversation outside the forum or using a third-party app is quite good if you're worried about this.

But anyway, good thing you raise this question, and maybe Mods knows about this.  Waiting for a response that comes from the Mods.
1420  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BTT Membership question on: February 14, 2022, 11:59:35 PM
AFAIK, the advantages are.
  • Can able to post images, embed videos and GIFs too
  • Wear signature under profile
  • Can able to send PMs
  • Your rank is equal to Jr.Member rank, in short, you can lift newbies restrictions
