1401  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Worlds Luckiest Countries on: March 07, 2017, 09:16:35 PM
My country is at the bottom 5. I wonder why does some criteria are included in determining the countries luck. If you ask me, if a country have lots of natural resources, gold, silver and copper it is a lucky country.
1402  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price on 13 March 2017 on: March 07, 2017, 02:59:11 PM
I vote for 1100 to 1200 because if SEC disapprove ETF, then the price will drop but not that much. And if ever it drops, hodlers will buy the dip and will push the price back up. I think 1200 is a safe bet for me. And is the range of the price right now and it may stay at that level for a while. All of this are just my speculations.
1403  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It's freaking 2017 - Do you own 1 BTC? on: March 07, 2017, 02:33:50 PM
I do not own one  bitcoin in my wallet, only a fraction of it. Though I do not own 1 btc, I am still satisfied because I trade it. Now my money is part fiat and part btc. I am just waiting for a dip before I purchase bitcoin again. Maybe it is a good goal to have 1 btc on a wallet to others but to me, if you can put your 1 btc to work, it is better than letting it sit on your wallet.
1404  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which one will you used? on: March 07, 2017, 02:28:37 PM
I am trading my bitcoins and I earn from doing it. So if ever I will choose between the two, I will spend fiat and store my bitcoin. There will be chance that bitcoin price will be very high and I do not want to regret if I spend it all today. I will reserve my bitcoin for that day.
1405  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin events calendar on: March 07, 2017, 01:22:37 AM
This is a good idea if it can be maintained including past and future events and cover world wide not just country specific. This is a good reference to prepare and make future trades. And the others are right, it is better if it is a website where others can contribute so you will bear all the work in updating the info.
1406  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about blockchain powered cars? on: March 07, 2017, 01:16:27 AM
That is a good application of blockchain and bitcoin. I am just worried if the car is carnapped and the wallet is hacked, then all the funds inside are lost. Wouldn't it be safer if the wallet is not in the car directly. It is offsite but still accessible by the car.
1407  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you know if a gambling site is scam or not? on: March 06, 2017, 04:41:42 PM
Use the site. Deposit small amount, play with it and if you win, withdraw your winnings. If it gets through, then it may not be a scam site. But even with that cleared, I will still not deposit large amount to non established gambling sites. Wait for it to gain reputation, then you can start to deposit larger amounts.
1408  Economy / Speculation / Re: Looks like we are going to test $1,300+ on: March 06, 2017, 04:35:58 PM
We saw the $1285 peak a couple of hours ago it bitstamp, it is clear that we bottomed the other day with that minicrash and now we are going to give it a second try for the $1300 resistance. I think im not selling a single coin, I feel like its about to go into orbit.

It probably will. I think it will push higher as the day gets nearer to the decision. I will hold my coins until the decision day and sell some at the peak price. Just half of my coins will do. The other half will wait if it gets approved or disapproved. I do not think it will dip much if it gets disapproved but it is still good to buy even if it dips just a little.
1409  Economy / Speculation / Re: Here is my trading strategy in case that the ETF will be approved or rejected: on: March 06, 2017, 03:33:46 PM
Is hodling a trading strategy? I think that is just going idle but still have some opportunity to profit.

My trading strategy is to sell half a day before the etf approval. If it get disapproved, I will buy on the dip. If it gets approved, I still have half of my bitcoin when it surges.
1410  Economy / Speculation / Re: instead of repeating "dump" get your hands on some money! on: March 06, 2017, 03:20:02 PM
You cannot blame them for trying. If they are stuck in their shorts, then they definitely want bitcoin to crash. or they just want to buy bitcoin in a lower price. But nowadays, bitcoiners are wiser and do not fall too easy on FUDs and the like. The more people shouting bitcoin doomsday, the more people buy bitcoins.
1411  Economy / Economics / Re: How Bitcoin will reach $2000 to $10000 in 2017 and $100k by 2026. on: March 06, 2017, 02:54:36 PM
100K is too much to wish for. I settle with 10K, if it even rich that far.  Actually I am already happy if it reaches 2k this year, that is already good money for me. Any amount greater than that is a blessing. I hope the scale issues get solved soon so that 10k and 100k will not be just a dream.
1412  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will storing bitcoin kill it? on: March 06, 2017, 01:32:12 PM
The demand will still be high because we still wanted bitcoin for its value. So the price will still be high even though we are all holding our coins. I also think even though ordinary users will hold their bitcoin, miners will have to sell theirs to pay for their expenses. That will create transactions. So it is really hard to say that all transactions will stop. There will still be transactions happening.
1413  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ETF betting on: March 06, 2017, 04:50:01 AM
I will not participate in this betting but it is good to know there are site catering for this line. It seems it is leaning more in getting disapproved since no have lower odds. I'll just prepare my bitcoins for trading, selling my bitcoins just before March 11.
1414  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: why bitcoin transactions require some confirmation? on: March 06, 2017, 02:31:09 AM
A simple google search will lead you to what you are trying to know OP. or better yet, read the bitcoin whitepaper. It has what you need to understand about bitcoin as a currency. Also, there are tons to read at the beginners section if you want to learn more
1415  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: let's push the btc etf on: March 06, 2017, 02:24:58 AM
I think there nothing much we can do to push the ETF  to be approved. We are just spectstors here. US SEC have autonomous control whether they approve or not. Instead of wasting time writing to them, let's just prepare and get more coins for when it gets approved.
1416  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is treated a stock on: March 06, 2017, 02:18:59 AM
Bitcoin is meant to be a payment method, a currency. Atleast that is what I understood when I read the whitepaper. But since it is fast acquiring value in exchange to fiat, it is a good store of value or investment. And that is what others are taking advantage right now.
1417  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BitPesa uses Bitcoin for remittance in Africa. Is $0.57 fee expensive? on: March 06, 2017, 02:16:16 AM
You are right OP, that is quite high transaction fee but as person coming from a third world country, that is still low fee compared to other modes we use here. And of course, you will not send just 2$  in a single transaction, that is a waste of fees.
1418  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 69,000 (69K) Unconfirmed Transactions! ....WTF...??? on: March 05, 2017, 01:03:45 AM
69K unconfirmed transactions is nothing special anymore. There are nodes that have had over 100K of unconfirmed transactions in their mempool. Lauda is spot on regarding the heavy spam attack on the network. It's utterly annoying that an entity gains so much pleasure out of choking the network with rubbish transactions. Look at the generated block fees today http://blockr.io/block/list/ it's party time for pools.

That spam can be viewed as a network test. How effecient bitcoin network can be if it get mainstream and have that much of valid transactions? Currently, as we can see, it is not performing well. We need segwit badly, unfortunately, miners are not so keen on adopting it.
1419  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does the location affect when we gamble? on: March 04, 2017, 03:07:07 AM
No it doesn't matter it is depend on your luck and a matter of destiny. You know when you are playing gambling god knows when you are on the winning side or on the other hand you are on the losing side. So stop fooling yourself about strategy and whats so ever. Or stop fooling yourself about the location etc. etc.

Yeah, it will not affect the result of the game and if a site use location to influence your odds, it will be cheating. The only way I know they can use location is when the gambling sites bans a certain country. They will lock ip coming from that country so you will need VPN to get around those restrictions. Other than that, there is no way location can be used or affect your bets or the game
1420  Other / Off-topic / Re: How are you earning BTC? on: March 04, 2017, 02:52:44 AM
The best way these days are with scam ico's.

Edgeless
Matchpool

All kind of scams that don't show real human faces but hide behind faces
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1718384.0

How can you earn from scam ico? Unless you are the scammer, you cannot earn from those coins (or am I missing something here?) I have earned from trading altcoins but I do not touch those coins that is scam in nature. I prefer to trade on the safe sides and it proves to be profitable.
