1421  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul Vs Nate Diaz boxing Aug 5th on Dazn PPV on: August 14, 2023, 07:47:00 AM
They’re saying that Nate Diaz walked away from this fight with Jake Paul having made over twenty million dollars. That is more than his entire career in the UFC. Say what you want about Jake Paul, but he helped Nate Diaz make more than his lifetime earnings in one night. This is why the UFC is trash and needs to be replaced with something better for the fighters.
This was boxing man, not MMA. This huge payday of Nate Diaz has absolutely nothing to do with the UFC. This fight was worth millions because it was a fight between Jake Paul and Nate Diaz and Jake Paul is great in marketing, you have to keep in mind his background, an youtuber guy, who was watching disney+ turned into a professional boxer in late adolescence. Guy mas millions of subscribers, don't forget that he is a brother of Logan Paul who is also enormously popular and famous. These guys are extremely wealthy, popular and marketing gurus too, the UFC has nothing to do with this pay, absolutely nothing. Also, this was a boxing match, not an MMA match.

Btw, I don't really understand what's the point of buying a ticket and PPV of the rigged match.

It's not totally rigged because we can only say that Jake Paul had 90% of chance to win, no guarantees despite having that much percentage because if Jake Paul's fight were rigged in the first place, he could've remained undefeated by now and defeated Tommy Fury on their fight in the past months. There is no certainty but we can already tell who will win, it's not that hard to figure out.

Not rigged but we both know their chances in the fight and that the chances of Nate Diaz won't even amount for us to start considering that he might win the fight, and which did happened just like how we forecasted it because there was no way that Jake Paul would lost the fight after having an embarrassment against Tommy Fury. But on their upcoming rematch, which is not yet sure for now, I think Nate Diaz will have the total control of the fight.
1422  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who is to be blamed, the gambler or the betting agent on: August 13, 2023, 10:34:53 PM
Well, if you can lend a cash advance to your worker so he can pay his debt on the betting agent, then problem solved. However, you cannot guarantee that the same scenario will not happen again especially that you are making things easier for your worker to gamble and lose his money in the end.

For me, I’d say the one at fault here is the gambler itself since he’s not supposed to gamble more than his income. And if by chance he’s just taking advantage from the agent’s offer without the intention to pay, then I must say the gambler is not a responsible and a reliable one especially when it comes to paying off his debt.
1423  Economy / Economics / Re: Would You Consider Adding Bitcoin to Your Retirement Savings on: August 13, 2023, 09:28:15 PM
Bitcoin is indeed highly profitable at the moment so this is also one of my dreams to invest in bitcoin and make it as a retirement investment. But I’m also aware that despite of its high chances to make profits, the rate to easily lose your money is also high knowing bitcoin will always be a high risk asset and whoever invest in it without previous knowledge and experience will find it hard to reap its profits in the future. However, if you do your own diligence to research first before you invest, and understand the risk behind it, surely investing with caution will also create some positive results in the future.
1424  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling experience using loan money on: August 13, 2023, 03:56:37 PM
Gambling using a loan money is a big NO. The thing about using loan money for gambling is when you lose, you lose twice. It just doubles your regret, doubles the guilt, and doubles the money you lost. In the worst case, you will be possibly get into debt and that is something that we want to avoid. When I'm engaging to gambling I always tell myself to only risk something what I can afford to lose, in this way I am always reminded to not exceed my preferred amount for gambling. So, only gamble using your free money, but if you do not have any, better not to engage at all.
That is good advice we should keep in mind so we don't get into debt trouble. And it's true that we shouldn't borrow money to gamble; if we don't have money, it's better not to gamble. But unfortunately, that doesn't apply to people who gamble out there because they are still trying to borrow from other people, even though some borrow from different people. And when they lose and are billed to pay their debts to many people, they will need clarification and can only run away every time they are billed. It is already a big problem for us where we must pay all the debts at once or we will be arrested for not paying them.

Having a loan just for the sake of gambling alone will just add some problems to you in the future and whether you like it or not, the reality about gambling is that you are always bound to lose even before you start gambling. Also, why would you add some extra problems to your life if you already know that there are no certainties that your bet will always go through in that given day. That's just a wishful thinking without weighing the situations carefully, sooner or later, don't be surprised if you are already digging your own grave.
1425  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo Alvarez vs Jermell Charlo - September 30th in Las Vegas on: August 13, 2023, 03:28:56 PM

Canelo Alvarez’s next fight had been rumoured to be Jermall Charlo, but instead it is twin brother Jermell Charlo facing the Mexican on September 30; Canelo is the undisputed world champion at super-middleweight, with Jermell jumping up two weight divisions from super-welterweight

https://www.skysports.com/boxing/news/12183/12912747/canelo-alvarez-to-face-jermell-charlo-in-undisputed-las-vegas-showdown-on-september-30

If anybody sees odds for the fight please share in the thread.

Thanks.

Mike Tyson himself had something to say about this fight. He seems to believe that Jermall Charlo is going to lose this fight and that Canelo Alvarez will easily beat him, without much of a struggle. Charlo said "Mike Tyson is Mike Tyson — he could say whatever he wants". But I think that the winner is going to be obvious here and Mike, with his years of expert experience, saw it coming. Sure Charlo had a good rise from his weight division but he is still not ready for Alvarez. Ambition combined with pure and unadulterated willpower alone cannot win fights for very long.

I guess we don't need to be a Mike Tyson so see who is going to win this fight. I mean, Charlo is good at 154 lbs, but this is a totally different league for him at 168 lbs and this is the best weight class for Canelo Alvarez.

14 lbs is too huge of a difference.  A tough 168 lbs fighting a  154 lbs even if this 154 lbs is a heavy hitter does not need any special ability to see who is at the advantage.  Even if we consider Charlo's punching power is devastating at 154 lbs, he is fighting a tough opponent that can absorb heavy punches from light heavyweight opponent.  And they are fighting at the most comfortable division of Canelo.  So almost all odds are against Charlo.  Even speed is against Charlo on this because adding more weight will hamper is agility.

Might be more reasonable if this bout is catchweight but it isn't and that will really give Canelo an advantage in this fight because Jermell will have to face a lot of difficulties before he can reach Canelo's division and after that it's not yet over because he then will have to face a natural 168 lbs. boxer which is an added difficulty to him. Not sure how would this fight go for him but I know that it will always favor Canelo without a doubt.

I doubt that Canelo can go lower than 168 lbs though if they go for a catchweight. It will be draining for him as he is used to his weight and as we all know what when we grow older, we are bound to really gain weight so I don't think that catchweight is possible here.

So it's on Jermell side to really accept the fight or not. And in this case he is willing to go up in weight so we can say that the weight could not be an issue.

And it's interesting what I read that Canelo is targeting the twins, it was supposedly Jermall in this fight but his 154 lbs twin Jermell step up and take his spot. But if Canelo wins, it is said that he is going to fight Jermall the 160 lbs champion at 168 lbs.

The fact that this bout already materialized means that Charlo is eager and confident enough to go up in weight and skip some weight class just to fight Canelo at the latter's own dominant weight class. Not sure what he thinks by the way because I don't see any reasons why should I side him on this path or bet with him because he even pursued this fight without having any warm up for his inactivity.

For me, this is just a money fight and Charlo was already tired waiting for someone that can give him a competitive paycheck that is why he is now going to fight Canelo at 168 even if it that will mean that he will be stripped of his WBO or is it WBC and a possible lose as well.
1426  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The fight between Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk. Who you betting on? on: August 13, 2023, 02:46:36 PM
What is the real reason why these two would fight each other? Because one told that he would beat other and the other person offered to tey it? That reason is so childish. Such calls for a fight stopped to look serious in school. These two are already adults. It is stupid to get offended on something on such an age and times of duels and white gloves slaps are gone.

That is the thing because there is exactly no reason why these two billionaires should prove themselves into a physical fight because that is not who they are, and they haven't got to where they are now because of fighting. Not to disrespect but physical fight shouldn't be their contest because they surely don't have any brute strengths to compete with.

Now when it comes to when did this flame started, I don't totally remember when and why because at first, I just thought that this is just a mere joke. Even now, I still think of the same thing.
Joke or not, it could be used as a major publicity stunt for both platforms. When this topic came out my 1st impression was that Elon would wipe the floor with the guy, but now my opinion has changed. Zuckerberg looks like he's in better shape and trains more.

That's what makes the people to be more curious if they are indeed making the fight happen because both of them are saying the same thing, it's not just a plain words because both of them are also having their respective preparations for the fight. But yes, I do agree with you, they have something different in mind that is why they are making these things and staying relevant to the public.
1427  Local / Pamilihan / Re: NBA discussion, betting and etc. on: August 13, 2023, 02:12:26 PM

1428  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 13, 2023, 12:35:24 PM

Yes, I agree. It is still premature to say that coach Pops will just be with the San Antonio Spurs for just a year specially when Wemby is still approaching his first season and rookie year in the NBA, and it was one of the reasons why the Spurs have convinced coach Pop to extend his contract. Needless to say, this will be not the end of it and coach Pop will soon find his answer again why should he stay for another season.
Wembenyama could end up getting injured or being a bust, cannot control if those things happen. If they did though, Pop might decide it's time to walk away. Spurs really need Wemby to have a monster season. If for nothing else than to keep their best coach ever interested in staying in coaching.

I get what you are saying but I don't think Pop is only gonna stay if wemby pans out.  He has won enough championships to cement his name in with the greatest coaches ever.  Unsure what his motivation is honestly.  They are a young team amd years away from competing for the chip.  Maybe this time around his motivation is to bring up these young kids.  Either way dude is a legend.

Motivation isn't something why coach Pop is staying with the Spurs because he was already approaching his retirement phase but the franchise insisted that he should extend his contract with them because they need his expertise to teach these young ones so that they will be an image of the team for the next couple seasons. Winning a championship wasn't the goal really because they already know that it will be too much to ask as Wemby is still approaching his rookie year, coach Pop will just be a lighthouse to the team to guide them.
1429  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Irresponsible behavior at the Las Vegas Casino on: August 12, 2023, 10:52:45 PM
So according to his family, he was drunk? It has nothing to do with the man being a gambler then. Is it not common to see in the news people doing something crazy either in the casino, in the park, building or it could be in any place? Drunk people have the tendency to do something irresponsible and being a gambler is not a pre-requisite.

Actually, most professional gamblers are not fond of getting drunk in a casino otherwise they cannot focus and will keep on losing money. I visited a popular and world-class casino twice and I seldom saw people drinking liquor heavily.
I think that person do not only suffer from being drugged as what the family claims, but most probably he is also suffering from being mentally ill, perhaps because of his gambling addiction that made him lose a lot and lost his right thinking. Because let's face the reality that no matter how drunk a person is, if he is not mentally ill, he will not do any shameless act that will surely make him regret the day after that.
1430  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: You must do this if you want to QUIT or NOT on: August 12, 2023, 01:19:36 PM
Main goal.of gambling is to give a satisfaction to the people who wants to play gambling some of them treat this as an entertainment purpose only but some of them make this too much serious they made the game as source of income reason why they urge to win but it's gambling the assurance right there is quite small unlike taking a business. In that case people keep chasing their losses and hoping to hit a jackpot in some point it's true but it does not always happen the house always wins the game.

The mistake of a gambler is when they make gambling the main source of making money and put it as the main goal in their life. When they make gambling the main activity in their life, of course there are many things they will sacrifice and that includes family. So there's no need to be surprised that most of the addicted gamblers don't have a good relationship with their families, because they really don't put it as a priority in their lives anymore.

That is what they failed to think because they haven't thought about it clearly and carefully before they started their career towards gambling, there may be some who had a successful path towards gambling but only selected few ones were able to pull that off but we cannot say that they haven't been through any difficulties. Even the successful gamblers like professional gamblers have their own investments on the side or other priorities in life that make them money because they know that gambling is not a long term thing.
1431  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 12, 2023, 11:58:35 AM
Austin Reaves did an interview with the Nelk boys on their podcast and it was a good introduction to him and his personality. It seems like he’s got his head screwed on straight and he cleared the air about having never met Taylor Swift. If you like Austin and want to see him in a relaxed environment, I’d recommend searching out this interview on YouTube.

If in case the rumor were true after all, it's very understandable if Austin Reaves want that thing to be private because it will not help his career if those issues will always surround him while playing in the NBA nor Taylor Swift's personal career, he probably knew what will happen after then if he will confirm those rumors. And as long as there were no evidence to confirm the rumors, both of them will always choose to deny whatever it is.
1432  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you gamble because you don't have sufficient money? on: August 12, 2023, 11:32:01 AM
I think there are more people in the lower class and middle class compared to the really rich, because most of the people in the lower class are unemployed, and the majority of them also rely on easy and quick earnings and what they think of this card is gambling.

and those in the middle class also follow that somehow, because most of the rich people value money and to maintain it they build more businesses that can produce money.

Being in the lower class and hoping to win big one day is totally normal in my opinion. Some people can't live happily without that hope. And, in the lower class or not, you have the right to be happy. To satisfy that need you don't have to risk a lot of money. Buy a dollar lottery ticket once per month and hope for the best. But don't play in casinos thinking that a "winning strategy" will make you rich. Definitely don't rely on that.

I reckon that lottery is much more safe to play with because you don't have to have a big capital and it's not that you will be playing with it with a couple of hours where money is always running, it's just a dollar and a game of luck without doing so much effort in analyzing every set of game. You just have to have those lucky digits with you in-order to be lucky just like the few selected ones who was lucky enough to experience a win in the lottery.
1433  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do 90% of Bettors Lose in Sports Betting in the Long-term? on: August 11, 2023, 10:58:04 PM
Placing bets based on guesswork simply doesn’t work!
Everyone will bet when they get a good prediction and in this prediction gamblers usually always do research and analysis.
Even though it doesn't guarantee a win but such way is better than just guessing randomly to risk some money.

Quote
So, how can you break free from this cycle of losses?
No one can escape the cycle of losses because in the gambling industry all that is written before their eyes is defeat.
The only thing gamblers can do is reduce losses so that they are not too large.
Whatever type of gambling you’re into, the fact that you gamble means you allow yourself to lose. And there’s no way we can break that. That’s the reason why a gambler should only spend his spare money, because even if his intention is to get entertained, still he is losing his money for that.

Gamblers should be aware that there strong design to deceive when gambling. That’s why no matter how you see yourself winning in the middle of the game, in the end, you are still the one being taken advantage because what you won are just slowly returning to the house until you used up all what you got.
1434  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Reckless gambling starts after a win round. on: August 11, 2023, 09:49:38 PM
Based on my experience, gambling addiction may develop and grow in anticipation of future profits. It does not matter whether you have tasted some wins or not, but the fact that beginner gamblers are hunger with money and profits, then addiction will easily come to develop. However, in some gamblers, they only develop gambling addiction once they have experienced potential profits. Because they feel that if they continue gambling, there will be more profits waiting for them. That’s when reality sucks when all they gained are losses.
1435  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: He Committed Suicide After Losing School fees, And That Of Friend To Betting.. on: August 11, 2023, 08:56:53 PM
Gambling should only give an entertainment, but if gamblers will create another reason to gamble, that is where gambling becomes harmful to its players. That is why students and minors should never be given access to gambling because their minds are still limited. And they never see gambling to create pure pleasure but to appraise it as a means to create a living. I’m sure this student is just trying his luck to double his money, but when he started making potential profits at the middle of gambling, he decided to gamble all in anticipating that he’ll be in huge profits in the end. And then the opposite happens. Worst is that frustration kills this gambler and ended his life through suicidal which will only create bigger problems in reality.
1436  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - November on: August 11, 2023, 03:10:11 PM

And I guess it takes a champion to recognized a talent, like what Pacman was in his prime years. And now that he is retired, he might have somewhat see himself in the young Inoue that's why he appreciates what the Japanese has done and there are fans that compare the two even though it's too early to see what will happen to Inoue in the next 5-10 years.

If Casimero will get a fight, then good for him, he needs to be busy and just focus on his boxing career and then next year probably target a fight with Inoue or someone rank boxer to inch closer for a world title fight.

Casimero's journey to face Inoue might take longer because his ranking is not yet close to that of the champion. So, you are right; he still needs to fight more to become a strong contender. While Inoue might be occupied with his pursuit of becoming an undisputed champion, we never know whether he will remain in the division after achieving his goal or if he will move up again, leaving Casimero with no chance of fighting the Beast.

I don't quite agree with that because Casimero indeed have an upper hand to be chosen as Inoue's mandatory challenger regardless if Inoue's path towards undisputed fight will happen this year or not, in case you guys forgot, super bantam has no interim champions which means that the next person who have a title like Casimero for instance being the WBO Global champion give him more chances. The only reason why these two will never meet is if Inoue will climb the next weight class again, hopefully that will not happen soon though.
1437  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 11, 2023, 02:55:39 PM
Perhaps some of the players, but when it comes to Howard, I believe they should not have let him go.

During the 2021-2022 season, Howard's salary with the Lakers exceeded $2 million. After his contract with the Lakers ended, he joined the Taoyuan Leopards, a team in Taiwan, for a salary of $1 million per season. However, recent reports indicate that his salary has been reduced by 65%. The question arises: why would he opt to play overseas when he can earn a substantial income in the NBA?

sources ;

https://hoopshype.com/player/dwight-howard/salary/
https://www.sportskeeda.com/basketball/news-dwight-howard-claims-contract-taoyuan-leopards-reduced-65

As I see it, there is only one reason why a player might leave the NBA to play in other leagues is the lack of demand for such a player by NBA teams. In Howard's case, he had multiple tryouts with different teams last off-season, and it looks like no one wanted him, even for the minimum salary. Personally, I think otherwise, and it seems to me that Howard can still play a couple more seasons in the NBA for the veteran minimum.

I believe that Howard is certainly a significant factor in the Lakers winning the championship during the pandemic.

In the playoffs against the Nuggets, whom they defeated in the WCF, Jokic's performance wasn't as remarkable as his stats during the NBA Finals against the Heat, where he averaged 30.2 PPG throughout the series. If we refer to this link, https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask/nikola-jokic-stats-vs-lakers-2020-playoffs, his average was only 21.8 PPG.

Wow this is a good point. I never thought about it this way. I remember the 2020 finals vividly, especially because of the lockdowns, and you have a good point. But he is a rather interesting player. Born in 1985, drafted in 2004, it is going to be 20 years since he is drafted next summer. But I know he takes care of his body good. Doing serious yoga and eating healthy etc. He is still good physically and can contribute a lot in my opinion(although I don't exactly know how he is doing these days after Taiwan, but he must be ok). As you have pointed out, he can contribute to defense and overall hardness of the team. He can get another chance. He shouldn't have gone to Taiwan imo.

Not really comparable, IMO. Jokic at that time is not so ripe compared now where he have this good IQ to see what is needed for the team and knows how to utilize his height and reach to dominate the paint, that goes to show that he is now giving more hardships to any team that they face compared at the time where the Lakers won their championship with Dwight Howard being the center.
1438  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 11, 2023, 02:28:47 PM
^^ Lol, I thought it is Jake Paul, but his younger who is going to fight. And same as what his brothers is doing, fighting another MMA artist in a stand up fight in boxing, so that they will have the advantage and most likely will win.

It's interesting that DAZN is carrying this fight, they will have to ride on the Paul brothers hype train in this exhibitions because this is business and there are a lot of money that is going to be made here.

Jake Paul cannot fight all the time, even though he holds a better record than his brother. However, both have already gained popularity, making it a lucrative opportunity for promoters, given that fans would unquestionably come to watch their fights. Even if they only fight once a year, they could still earn millions of dollars. This is in contrast to many other professional boxers who begin their careers from the ground up and only become popular after proving themselves by winning championships. The Paul brothers don't require that trajectory; their exhibition fights alone generate a substantial income for them.

As long as the fans are willing to buy their tickets because of what hype this brothers can bring, they will continue to do so and this is a potential another millions of dollars in the table for them and there opponents as well. That's why they can almost find fighters, whether ex-MMA or still beginning of their careers in UFC or not so famous fighters.

Because it's one of a lifetime opportunity to make a name for them and at the same time, been paid more than what they got if they are to compete in UFC. Like what Francis did to his career, Dana White is not offering him good money, then he switch and fight Tyson Fury for millions just in 1 fight alone.

That is a guaranteed $8 Million (PPV not included) and that is a very good money that Francis Ngannou can have after making a name in the UFC and now getting his career in the boxing industry, the thing is that this is not an exhibition fight that is why it is garnering many attention from the people around the world.

Just like Nate Diaz, it has been said that he got a whooping $20 Million from a fight against Jake Paul. And if this hype continues on their rematch, I would not be surprised if Jake Paul would take the deal even if it means that he will get defeated in an MMA fight.

Yes, I've read about that as well that Nate Diaz got that much and if I'm not mistaken, I think that is the biggest paycheck that Nate received in his whole career. Some even said that even if we combine what Nate received throughout his MMA career, this is still the biggest paycheck. That just shows that Jake Paul indeed knows how to make a fight and it's not surprising why DAZN is organizing it for them as it is indeed profitable on their side as well.

It is indeed the biggest Nate had, bigger than what he made his entire career in MMA.
Yeah so they're gonna be protecting this kid to remain unbeaten to gain consistent and increasing profit every time Jake steps into the ring. Nate on the other hand somehow deserved that money he's got after his long career in MMA. Though he's got pretty beaten with this fight, but hands down to his will to finish the fight. The guys real tough legend. It's just funny to see him like he's holding himself trying not to release a kick. His stance is really different than a pro boxer, and that made his punches like it doesn't have enough power to shake Jake Paul up.

Which kid are you referring to? Because if what you meant is Jake Paul, he already have a scathe in his record as he already lost a fight before he faced Nate Diaz in the ring.
And talking about Nate, yes, it is indeed kind of awkward to see him fighting in the ring because his brain will always suggest to use his legs that is why we can see him holding out and that is normal for a guy who spent his whole career in MMA, what we have witnessed is his muscle memory when it comes to fighting someone as that's what he is accustomed into.

I am in crypto for a few years and i have good knowledge of the crypto markets and their behavior. For the past few years, I am mostly invested in some top crypto project and held it till I get decent profits. You can say i am a holder. Now i want to try something different. I want to try day trading methods to generate a daily income from the spot market.

Is that even possible to earn 50$-100$ every day with spot trading? If yes then what methods you are using and how do you manage your risk?
I cannot give you the assurance to earn that certain amount within a day. First, the market is highly volatile, sometimes the price is up, sometimes it drops too low. So you can decide to keep day trading, but you can’t expect that it will always yield good profits. Even professional day traders lose at some point, which means day trading is not just all about how good you are as a trader, but it’s always like how often the market favor your trades. If you trade when the market is in a negative shape, probably your trades too will definitely be in bad shape, especially if luck is not on your side.

I knew that there's many topic like this in the past that asking advice about loaning for gambling. The intention of this thread is determined what's the actual feeling when you are using a loan money on gambling knowing that there's an interest rate on your borrowed money which means you already lose part of your money before you start gambling.

I saw many high rank users here that asking for loan and directly deposit the loan amount on gambling account. I want to know what's the experience on using loan money. Is there additional pressure on gameplay or just the same using regular money without an interest rate.
I bet you know the answer already but you just want to hear from the actual gamblers how risky and how stupid it is to gamble on the borrowed money. Only inexperienced gamblers do that since they are not completely aware that the moment they gamble, they’re already putting their money at a loss.

However, with luck at some point, gambling using loaned money might also end up being profitable but in most cases, gambling using other money will definitely end up losing them all plus you get to pay it’s annoying interest monthly.
