1421  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Promotion methods. Dark & Bitcointalk? on: June 27, 2023, 05:18:48 PM
@OP to give you an idea on how effective advertising through the forum with campaigns is that the effect might only be visible to your company if you'll run in the long term. Such campaigns that do stay for a couple of weeks or months won't get the best results.

We are also interested in why Bitcoin mixers are advertised here and not on the dark web.
Most people there are already aware of how to keep their privacy thus, you may unlikely see advertisements there from a mixer. And mixer companies are likely aware of that so, the target market could be those that are still unaware of its existence and the brand that they endorse. My opinion could also be wrong about that.
1422  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do you come up with reliable predictions for prices? on: June 27, 2023, 03:17:53 PM
Do you have more beginner level suggestions?
Reading might be boring for you if you'll go along with those beginners tips and guides so I suggest you to watch some educational videos on how to start trading. I wouldn't give any channel so it's up to you on what will be results by entering these keywords that you've already mentioned.
But if you're up for reading materials, aside from the ones that were being said. You can see a lot of them made by exchanges just like what's mentioned by bitmax that's being done by binance. Combining all of the resources that you can gather here is likely good enough to start with.
1423  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would you dare to pawn your bitcoin? on: June 27, 2023, 12:00:11 PM
- Would you approve of the possibility of leaving crypto as a deposit in a pawnshop?
It's kind of hard for me but I've got this thought already that saving my bitcoin that's being held but at the same time use it as a collateral. My decision will depend on the laws if me(pawner) will have some protection from doing so but if not, I'll choose to do it with some of my altcoins but not with bitcoin. Is it just me that I've got a different treatment for the altcoins that I hold than of course, Bitcoin? And if I've got really no option, I might just sell a little amount of my btc holding than pawning it, paying the interest and there's the volatility that the value might not be in my favor.

- Has such a service not yet appeared in your country of residence?
Not yet but I think if it's with individuals that are also in crypto and I know them personally, maybe they'll agree.

- How do you feel about the emergence of such new trends in the service sector?
This is inevitable, anything that can be attached to bitcoin and integrate it with financial services is possible.
1424  Economy / Economics / Re: Should I Use Emergency funds or Sell my Assets ? on: June 27, 2023, 09:25:19 AM
I reluctantly followed the counsel of a financial advisor to fix my finances in order by creating a budget and tracking my expenses, inflow and outflow of cash using an excel sheet. The economy has been crazy in my country so I needed to do something urgently. My greatest realization after this is that inflation all round is destroying my budget. It's been  five months now. I am torn between using my emergency funds or selling some of my assets to cushion the effect of this economic situation. What do you suggest I do?
Don't you have cash flow like coming from active and passive income and you can just opt to keep all of it? But I guess you're in a very dire situation and you've got no option so you're opting to choose any of it. I think if you're in this situation and your assets have grown over time, it's best time for you to benefit from it and that's your choice to make. By the way, what's the purpose of you're in need of money? Is it that you're gonna need to spend a huge amount or you just want to have something in your hand for spending purposes like your daily stuff and monthly obligations? We need more info about that because if it's all about the economic situation deteriorating, you know what's best for yourself because you're the one in need and experiencing it and you know better based on the situation that you're dealing with.

Hello Rio, you're definitely in the right place to understand and know more about Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. As an additional to what cantsay have said, since you're already on this board. You can check what's on the stickied or the topics that are at the top of this section which you'll see it immediately upon visiting this section. One topic there that I suggest you to read is:
1426  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How does a whale sell its huge amount of bitcoins and change them into fiats? on: June 27, 2023, 05:51:46 AM
Hello,

From what I read, someone who sells btc sometimes has trouble receiving the fiats in its bank account. If the sum is large, the bank turns on all its red lights. I guess it's not a problem for someone famous, but for an ordinary citizen, how it happens if he lives modestly, recovers his private keys that he lost 10 years ago and finds himself with millions?
If a whale is popular, we've just seen how they've been exposed that they've been selling through huge exchanges as well just like what has happened on the FTX. But if this just an ordinary person, I wouldn't worry about him/her because he's bright enough to buy bitcoin as the earliest stage and selling it would be easy. The regulations will depend on where he is found and I am sure that he won't just sell all of it on an instant with just one exchange. Scattering it and spreading it across various exchanges could be his option and one thing is for sure that he can't skip the KYC part because if he wants to sell and have no problem then that's what he has to go through. Not unless, he knows a huge place where he can OTC or through P2P without having any issues.
1427  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What is considered good collateral these days? on: June 26, 2023, 11:34:47 PM
A good collateral is the one that the lender can easily liquidate and none of those you've mentioned are one. But who knows if the lender can consider any of those or all of it as one for the amount that you're asking. The lender can explain to you that all of it are worth it and valuable to you but it could be little to none value to him. If you're trying to use them as a collateral, try to sell any of them at any value if you're really in need of money. Because just as what everyone is saying and likely from a perspective of a lender, if I'm the lender alone, I won't take any of it so you'll be declined to take that amount even if it's just for the short term.
1428  Economy / Economics / Re: Ruto Calls for a new financial architecture on: June 26, 2023, 10:18:10 PM
Maybe he just figured it out that leaning towards IMF and World Bank for debt is not going to fit their country anymore. There could also be from his economic team and consultants that has suggested this to him and he approves so he is proposing it. If we're going to analyze what he's proposing, this is all for the decentralization and I don't think that those countries or the summit where he suggested this would agree on him. They're the government and they should be the one to promote centralization but just on this case, he's not benefiting from these two global institutions that would send them debts and debts. And there's probably the idea that he wants his country to get out of that.
1429  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: "How best do I secure my investment on bitcoin as a newbie" on: June 26, 2023, 12:36:28 PM
One thing that newbie investors of bitcoin does is to believe that exchanges are the safest place to keep their bitcoins. And that's a wrong belief because it leads you to not have your own key and it is the exchange that holds your funds and not you. Because it should be us holding our bitcoins and not them. So, that's it, don't store your bitcoin on any exchange if you're not going to trade it. Next, if you've learned to keep your bitcoins on hardware or desktop wallets that are recommended, you don't store the private keys on any cloud storage e.g email, social media account, spreadsheets, etc.
1430  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Halving and Blackrock on: June 26, 2023, 09:55:37 AM
1. Is it correct to assume that each halving will result in a 50% reduction in rewards?
( If current reward is .0003 BTC, reward after halving will be .00015 ) ?
It is per block not per amount as what others have explained, the reward block is the one that gets reduced.

2. Is there a good calculator for ROI and estimated rewards ( per day ) that calculates 5-10 years in the future or allows an input for estimated future value of BTC ?
Well, the thing on this one is that there's no accurate calculator depending on many factors if you happen to operate your own miner. Too many to consider just to get to the ROI. It sounds interesting when you see the calculation and projections on how quick the ROI and high the profit may be but all of those are just projections.

3. Will BlackRock and the central bankers be able to fork BTC into a proof of stake coin? ( How are changes to BTC created ?)
Just like with what Ver did and made his own bitcoin cash as a bitcoin fork and we've seen the bitcoin SV, so they're also able to do the fork but it won't directly have any code affection to the actual and real bitcoin. They'll just have their own version of Bitcoin as an altcoin but they can't change the real bitcoin's POW into POS.

1432  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Ambassadors of Bitcoin🗣️🎤🎙️🖌️ on: June 25, 2023, 11:48:21 PM
It is not our responsibility to teach them about Bitcoin, I think giving them links and references to self study is generous enough since they don't have to browse the internet and spend hours of searching and choosing for learning materials.
It's easier to give them the materials, links, videos and every stuff where they can learn about Bitcoin. I think being said as an ambassador gives that heavy responsibility as an individual who's into Bitcoin investing. I know that we should play our parts for giving people the idea of what Bitcoin is but there's the right forum, right time for it to be said. Not everyone that asks you are literally interested in knowing it, if you've been into in the past and you talked with people that have asked you about Bitcoin. You will understand the struggle for being a voluntary ambassador and person that wants to drive people to this space. We're not obligated yes but if you think that it's your sole duty to have it with different people no one can stop you but we can also have that disappointment in encouraging others to be one. For some safety measures, if it's just happening over the web, we can secure ourselves but to happen it physically. Then, you know the dangers that you may get.
1433  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are the Predictions of Bitcoin Halving accurate? on: June 25, 2023, 10:31:49 PM
You compare every website that has a countdown for the halving, not all of them are the same and that's why they're just putting some assumption that the time they set are gonna be the one where the block will be mined for that halving. I don't think that there's a need for it to be accurate with that unless you do really think that there's something important a person need to be accurate with that. Don't stress a lot with the accuracy because no matter what the countdown is and if they differ from each other, it will come.
There seems to be consensus that bitcoin halving will be experienced next year but the exact time of 2024 has been debated. Different crypto websites and analysts have their specific predictions. From my findings in different predicting websites, I think it will be difficult to know the exact minute, hour, or even day. But a summary of some of the websites visited puts the having date between February to June 2024. I am not also too concerned about the precise date because I am willing to wait till anything occurs next year. The actual halving time may be more important to Bitcoin traders.
Yes, that's it. The difference of the actual hour, date could vary but that's okay. Those dates or the actual time that the 840,000th block to be mined will certainly vary. The result is gonna be big for sure and we're all aware of that, could also be important to traders as you've said because buying pressures and demand might increase during the actual time it has been mined and the actual halving happens. For long term holders, it won't be that much important to know the time accurately because we're here to wait and wait and then find the right price and time for us to sell. I think soon, we'll see stats of these websites that have countdowns and will have the percentage of how accurate they are.

1436  Economy / Economics / Re: What roles does the poor play in the Economy? on: June 24, 2023, 03:22:57 PM
In what ways have the people living in poverty impacted in the economy?
Take it like this, what happens if most of the people in a country are rich? No one wants to be a workforce, everyone wants to stay at top and that will result into lack of workforce and that's the demand will increase for having a lot of jobs that no taker has. We're just discussing this for the sake of discussion and we don't intend to look down on them because I admit that I am not rich.

Share your ideas on the importance of the poor masses in economy sustainability.
So going to the discussion, they're the workforce that gives labor to different industries. Without labor, how can an economy move? Most of these wealthy people wouldn't move as well but they can take that and it won't matter to them because they're wealthy, they can buy all their needs even if the economy of their country is shattering. Coming from taxes to consumerism, labor/workforce, etc.
1437  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I have been gone for a while on: June 24, 2023, 01:18:42 PM
Hello all,

Coming back here is nostalgy.
I was active here 2016-2020.

Wow, how things changed. I need to find my way here to fit in again.
Hello there, glad that you've been back. Yeah, a lot have changed since you haven't here for a long time but that's fine. What's important is that you're back so be active again. But even if you've been inactive for a long time, did you manage to accumulate and sold some during the 2021 bull run? And if yes, that's good and we're approaching another bull run anytime soon but most likely after the halving next year.
If not, then learn from your experience and don't let this pass and accumulate while you can still right now before these prices inflates before and after the halving.
1438  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 24, 2023, 11:25:04 AM
It takes time to process these trades if he's got it by a surprise. Fans do really love Poole after they've won the 2022 NBA championship. He played well there and that's why this was a surprise when one of their best players have been traded. But with this 2023 playoffs, we do saw that he performed not very well. I guess with these trades after winning championship sometime ago and became of its contributors, it's gonna be a normal thing that some may be traded just like Kuzma.

We are no longer surprised that he got traded due to his lack of good performance in the playoffs. He was one of the biggest reasons why the Warriors failed, as he wasn't shooting like he was during their championship run in 2022. Now that he is gone, the team can start pursuing their serious goal of winning a championship again. I know that with CP3 being healthy, this team will be tougher to beat.
That's the good thing by acquiring CP3 and trading it for Poole but we know about how he's too prone to injuries and hopefully that it won't happen a lot. Most specially in those crucial times like if it happens that they're in a playoffs game or semi finals.

I hope to see Poole become a superstar in his new team, where there aren't a lot of superstars.
Maybe it will come in a blessing that he's there and he'll be treated differently unlike just by a support on his former team. I am looking at some websites that lists these rosters and they haven't updated yet the teams and roster like CP3 is still on Wizards, the same goes for Beal and Poole.
1439  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 24, 2023, 09:16:37 AM
~snip~
I think for Jordan Poole, he has to move on with playing with the Wizards now. And who knows, he could be their star after Beal and Kuzma as they are in a rebuilding phase. Fans though of the Warriors might not get this very easy because they love Poole. But with his performance from last season, he has to let go.

And I do agree that I see CP3 coming off the bench now, this could protect himself from injuries.

Steph will still be their starting PG and their roster is still intact even if they let go of Poole. Problem with Poole though is that there are no "baddies" going to watch Wizards game,  Cheesy

1440  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Will there ever be any safe centralised exchange ? on: June 24, 2023, 05:19:42 AM
That's how it goes. At the end of the day, it's like these exchanges at the mercy of the government but not anymore today. Just like how the known centralized exchanges have been moving from country to country and building their headquarters. There's a problem on them that they can't comply with what the government is asking. It could be a personal attack on them with the requirements and rules set and these governments know that big money is gonna flow on them but if these exchanges decide not to get onto their markets, they'll lose a huge part of the market that they own on these regions.

The government knows that allowing the CEX do things by themselves would cause a boycott of activities that were meant to be a normal procedure hence they got themselves fully involved in CEX activities so as to monitor and keep watch on them.
CEX generates huge amount of money from transactions   which git the government poped eyes into their activities and making sure they pay tax and.all other levied bill on them by virtue of their presence on their jurisdiction.
They just can't get their eyes on it. It's a billion dollars market and will eventually be back to trillion again whenever we're back at the bull run. And how much more if all of these ETFs applied will be approved then combining all of those that have applied, that's a lot of sum that they will not turn away their eyes on it. That's why ending up that they just can't let it pass and they should also have a share and a piece of cake from the entirety of this market.
