1021  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: How I Lost $120,000 ? on: September 25, 2023, 04:13:46 PM
Short story which happened to this Youtuber:.
Someone contacted him through telegram and start friendly discussion and then this friendly discussion convert into business discussion. Stranger ask to invest in Huobei and then another exchange (scam) to withdraw direct into bank. At first this guy invest 50$ and withdraw successful and then 100$,1k ,10k and everything goes well. After that this guy borrowed money from friends with interest and he deposited more than 100k$ and now he is not able to withdraw. This guy now looking to make money through youtube, Facebook and TikTok and created youtube channel and ask in video to help him with sharing.
Thanks for saving my time watching that video and writing this summary of what happened to OP.

First of I feel regret but why people still believe stranger where  telegram scamming is now become so old and everybody should be aware of it. Second borrowing money for trading is always bad especially when you couldn't returned in case of lost.

What message you want to gives, if you are the real person who scammed? or just helping him with sharing?
Mainly, it's because of greed. When a victim is already shown to be gullible, these scammers will be patient on them at least with this scamming tactic that's been done to him. They will take his trust and build rapport through conversations and with little withdrawals that he'll request. And when they think that they've found a gold mine, they will not be vocal about it until they are scammed. Sorry for OP but if the amount is for real, that's a huge mistake that you've made and all you need to do is to start over. There's still always hope for it but it is unlikely you'll recover that money from the person who scammed and fooled you.
1022  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns [Last update: 24-Sep-23] on: September 25, 2023, 01:40:07 PM
Stress signature campaign has made its first week's payment so from PNYC, should be moved its status to CFNP.

The payment for 1st week has been made.

I see that [banned mixer] is no longer in the table and based on the log:

Code:
06-Aug-23: Removed [banned mixer]

In fact, it has just paid its 7th week payment so it should be included back to CFNP.

Week 7 payouts are on the way!
1023  Economy / Economics / Re: How do you deal with financial stress? on: September 24, 2023, 09:20:37 PM
Maybe I'm stressing out too much because I'm yet to find proper housing to establish myself again after being away for over a year in the military. I'm generally an anxious person myself, but does anyone else feel the same
I am sure that everyone else feels the same thing as what you're anxiety about.

and how do you deal with it? How do you stay optimistic?
Positive thoughts but at the same time doing some actions. If you're seeing the market and opportunity for your chosen path is very limited, you need to stretch it out and try new things for yourself. Change is constant and learning is a continuous process that anyone will agree with. But cheer up, I think the best thing for you to do is to start with yourself like in your mindset. I know it's hard to avoid negative thoughts just as what you're experiencing because it's pretty normal. But don't dwell on that and start thinking something positive and you'll get up again and will be able to get back on track just as pre-covid situation of yours. All of these trials that you're experiencing now will make you a better person and soon when you're able to find better opportunities and be on a better shape because of your optimism and strong willed thinking, you're just going to cry how much you've been through but regardless of that, you've overcome all of it and thanks to all the people that are believing you and for the people as the reason why you're working hard for. *Cyber pat on your back.
1024  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Maybe we should be worried? on: September 24, 2023, 07:04:20 PM
I am more worried when CZ starts to talk about how good their exchange was and keeps on praising is. I guess that's gonna be one of the early signs that people should pull out their funds from their accounts. But I think people should just stop worrying at all with such transfers. This prolly have started with whales transfers being posted on a certain Twitter account and then it has made a lot of uncertainty and spread it all over the community. And now, like some usual transfers from exchanges, coming to and fro is becoming a big deal. Since the worry has already started, there's no need to worry if you don't keep your funds there or with any other exchanges and custodial services.
1025  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to keep safe the mnemonic phrase - Whats Your method? on: September 24, 2023, 05:09:31 PM
fellow members,

As we all know keeping mnemonic phrase in a secure place is the first step of bitcoin journey. But there are few thing that comes in my mind:

->Writing and keeping it with you/your place: What if someone got the access in your absence of theft or any disaster?
-> Obviously keep it online in email of any other way is risking your funds.

What can be the best possible way, My favorite method is to using a metal keycard where I marked the phrase buy again it can be stolen Sad

What your way?
That's why keeping on areas where you're the obviously person that will know it is a must. While keeping it on a metal keycard, that's one of a disaster proof but also you need to make it as if it's not an obvious passphrase that you've written there. A metal card o dog tag is like a good one that you can count on in terms of disasters. But as you have said it's not thief proof. The only solution with that is to make back ups that you'll only understand and only you know where you can keep it safe inside your house.
1026  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Be careful with your transactions. on: September 23, 2023, 10:25:57 PM
While you've made a good point about being careful with the transactions that we do. The chance that someone sents to the wrong address is pretty low and that's through copy paste malware wherein the infected device, desktop or laptop has a default bitcoin address which is owned by the hacker if ever you're trying to send funds to yourself or to anybody. And for the mistake that has happened with Paxos, they've said that it's an error but you're right that we should be careful and check many times before we make a transaction whether we're going to send bitcoins or any crypto to ourselves or to someone else.

The possibility of the wrong address when sending is small. but it could happen to anyone. I've experienced it. I was planning to send Bitcoin to an exchange, but I copied the wrong address and luckily it was my friend's address. so I don't lose anything other than the fee. That's because previously I made a transaction with a friend by copying his address. and after that, I want to send Bitcoin to the exchange account address. I did it on my smartphone, I wanted to copy the address but maybe it didn't work. and when I paste the address, it is my friend's address that I sent Bitcoin to.
What an experience, it's really possible but as you've said that the chance is slimmer. I think that's why there are some attacks like address poisoning to push people to make mistakes just like what has happened to you. It's harder to make transactions through a smart phone and that's why when we're going to transact especially with huge amounts, as much as we can, use desktop or a laptop where you can navigate easily and you can check the address easily as many as you can.

It is possible that this error could occur to someone who makes transactions quite often. maybe now it will be safer to scan barcodes.
There's also a potential scam through scanning of bar codes when it's like a swap bar code happens but the chance is also is slim if ever you'll do this inside an establishment.
1027  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are some good, trusty casinos that support crypto as payment? on: September 23, 2023, 02:12:27 PM
I recommend you to check this thread here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5335097.0 because this one is fairly articulated or reviewed and kudos to the OP. You can read more about the casinos in this list by searching here in the forum using the search function or DYOR elsewhere.
Thank you for your recommendation! The OP of that thread did an amazing job and I will definitely check some of them out. Smiley
It was a good list and you've got the idea based on his opinion and ratings from the listed casinos there. But it still will vary based on your personal experience if you ever have decided to try each of them and compare the ratings that you'll give to each of them and to the rating that he's got. IIRC, he's one of the most prominent gambling reviewer in the forum together with btcgosu. Just to give the idea that they're honest and there's no bias upon giving those ratings.

1029  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Scam]: Fake Celsius claimant Agent Website on: September 23, 2023, 09:03:56 AM
In every claims that we're seeing, there's also those scammers that tries to take advantage of the situation.
Well, i can't say more about this, almost everything that is related to money, a scam counterpart will be created earlier or later on by this scammers.
And there's proliferation of this on the crypto market and that's why always keep an eye if you ever are into those claiming services and not just them but, in almost every transactions that we do and yes all about money as long as it's involved.

And believe it or not some people will always be get victim for this, wondering how their thoughts work
One sad truth that we can't alter and couldn't be changed in the long run. As this space is getting older and bigger, there are those newbies that are always coming in which they're targeted by these scammers.

then later on will blame the legit org/group for their stupidity.
Can't blame themselves for that and just trying to find fault to others with their mistake but they'll have to admit later on that it's on them.
1030  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How can third-world countries counter inflation using bitcoin? on: September 23, 2023, 07:29:07 AM
Bitcoin is typically used for online transaction and businesses in third world countries despite widespread poverty, this is because people can easily connect to the internet and participate in the crypto economy in many developing countries such as India and continent like Africa have high cryptocurrency adaptation rate.
Having that high adoption rate, this also makes it more of Bitcoin as an asset or a store of value that we're having. That's the main reason why many of us are holding it and that's for investing purposes although it doesn't ignore the use case of it for being payment and that's why Bitcoin is amazing. Whether you use it as a store of value or for payment, that's how flexible Bitcoin is.

Inflation which is characterised by devaluation of currency alongside increasing price of goods and services, this has made people to turn to cryptocurrency like bitcoin an asset that maintain its value over time to hedge  against inflation.
It's because Bitcoin has a limited supply and described as a deflationary asset. In general, whether you own bitcoin or not, we have to beat inflation in any ways that we can. Extend your investments in other assets and have more source of income.
1031  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Scam]: Fake Celsius claimant Agent Website on: September 22, 2023, 10:45:58 PM
In every claims that we're seeing, there's also those scammers that tries to take advantage of the situation. Thanks OP when you've seen this and we need to alert everyone else upon seeing such fake claimant website or a phishing link that appears to be a copy cat of the legitimate ones. It's not just for the claims of celcius but also for other websites and services that has been gone and out of service already. This isn't going to be the last one that we'll see and there will be new ones that will be made by the scammers behind these fake websites and likely, they've been doing this all of their lifetime.

That is so true, and if I'm not mistaken, even the claimants from the Mt. Gox who has been one of the ghost that still haunting us for many years, has been taken advantage by this scammers and made several websites as well, fake ones obviously to trap those victims because it's been years and they want to claim it right now.
They'll flock and try to trick people when there's something like this. Poor those people that will fall for this and think that they're the legitimate ones.

So just be careful guys, this scammers are really that smart to know which incoming projects have filed for bankruptcy and what is the next step for their customers like how to claim and then they created this fake websites.
They're all updated of what's happening with claims and as well as other news in the market and community. So if someone is reading this out of nowhere and has the same story of having some claims on Celcius or any other closed service but eligible for that, it is not going to hurt you to take time and sit in your desk reading the validity and authenticity of what these websites are because if you don't, you might fall for one.
1032  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Learn how scammers capitalise on a trending coin or token. Save your funds. on: September 22, 2023, 09:37:14 PM
Yes! That's how many of these projects are trying to cope up with the demand when a trend is very hyped and popular. They don't mind what are the critical details that will be presented to their investors as long as they can make money out of those investors that never does their due diligence. It's easy to make new projects for them if they've been doing this for so long and the targets are those that are FOMOing with the trends and trying to keep up as much as they can. That's why if you're that type of investor, you're likely to fall for it especially if they are good in PR marketing and they've got budget as they launch for which shall be taken from their investors later on.
1033  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi's Intention/Vision For Bitcoin on: September 22, 2023, 06:07:03 PM
Thanks OP. You'll see arguments that they're not liking the use of Bitcoin as an investment and as a store of value. But if satoshi has already foresee that someday it will be like that, there's no need for argument about that. Since the important thing here is that Bitcoin is for everybody and we're all free to use whatever we want on it. But those people that argues that it should used more with as a payment, ask them not to hold their Bitcoins and sell or use it for payments, they won't accept that or if they do, they won't do it wholly and will still end up holding it as a store of value or an asset/investment. Like fiat, a medium of payment but also a medium for buying assets.
1034  Economy / Economics / Re: Free Investment tips on: September 22, 2023, 04:22:14 PM
-snip-
Find your niche and strength and get more trainings and certifications so that you'll be competitive and can land jobs with greater chance because of it. Free trainings are everywhere on the web now and they're easier because of most of them are readable and visual materials that you'll just need to watch and allot time in finishing them.
Free training is now widely available. In my country, the government has organized many free trainings to produce skilled workers who have the skills to compete in the world of work.

This is certainly an investment for a good future that is obtained for free.
One only needs to be passionate about it, and their fate is self-determined.

No one has expert skills after birth if they don't explore their potential.

In addition to being skilled, everyone must have the soul of a merchant or those who are able to build their own business.
This is also influenced by each person's privilege.

Those who are already in their family or business circle will be accustomed to doing so from an early age.
No doubt those that have been with a family business or has parents that are engaged into business/es have the edge to build their own business or just continue what has been started. This is also a skill and it's harder than anyone else because you take the risk and your profit is unstable until everything becomes stable. Going back to the free trainings that can be found online, those sponsored by governments and also by private organizations. They know what they're doing and they've believing in the future of the new skilled workers that shall contribute to the economy soon. And that's why those that don't know yet what they're up to their own futures need to assess themselves and take a look at these opportunities to train new skills for free as they become a market-ready and competitive employee or independent contractor.
1035  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns [Last update: 17-Sep-23] on: September 22, 2023, 01:04:45 PM
Shuffle signature campaign has already paid its first week and at the same time filled its last remaining legendary spot as it has changed its title from open to CFNP. Therefore, coming from PNYC it should be moved to CFNP.

Week#1 has been paid

Moneypot has one legendary spot.

We have one Legendary spot. Please apply.

Now filled.

Coinroyale is still on the PNYC category on the table. It has paid its first week so it should also now be moved to CFNP.

payments for 1 week are on their way.

I think that education and skills are all together. Although there are skills that are in born and cannot be learned in any schools. About health, it's true that as we get older then the famous quote about it that it is also our wealth really will sink in to you. We're not always strong and young and that's why maintaining our health is a vital part that we need also to invest ourselves in for our future. All that you've mentioned are on point and people may argue that they are not literally investments but we all need to maintain those. I'll just like to tell those that are lacking skills or feeling that they're not competitive. Find your niche and strength and get more trainings and certifications so that you'll be competitive and can land jobs with greater chance because of it. Free trainings are everywhere on the web now and they're easier because of most of them are readable and visual materials that you'll just need to watch and allot time in finishing them.

1038  Economy / Exchanges / Re: 1337mushroom.exchange - Peer To Peer Crypto Currency Exchange [BETA TESTING] on: September 21, 2023, 03:54:37 PM
Aside from all of the suggestions given about the domain and running a beta testing campaign. You need to update all of your reviews.
It doesn't look real and I know that it's just like a template but with little details being seen by your potential traders, it could be a turn off for them.
1039  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Share Your Experience About Casinos You Found Here on: September 21, 2023, 11:31:00 AM
Everyone is going to agree if they gamble in a casino that has an unresponsive and useless support. That's what makes us connected to them and feel at home when they're very open and communicative with their customers. But when you don't feel that you've been taken cared of and they don't give importance to any query to their customers, that's how they are showing the real them. Well, for some instances there have been customers that are repetitive with their concerns and sometimes it's really too annoying on their end. And if it's the obvious, that's probably the reason why they're not responsive for some specific customers. However, that's not how they should take care of their customers. Everyone should be treated fair and square as all of them are customers. Anyway, you've got more privilege if you're the bigger guy that has wagered a lot on them. Another one that many gamblers will agree upon is the sudden KYC during the withdrawals but this thing has become a common response of a casino when the amount of request is overwhelming.
1040  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: No matter the pressure don't release on: September 21, 2023, 09:10:00 AM
Thanks for sharing that experience, those that are always trading through the P2P markets. It's very important that you're sure with the transaction that you'll do and make it always black and white before releasing the crypto that you're about to sell. It's okay to delay it if there's no confirmation yet from your bank and the money isn't reflecting yet. For sure that the legitimate buyers will understand why you're delaying it and they will do the same thing if they are on your shoes. It's just for precautionary measures to avoid scammers that might just reverse the transaction since it's bank transaction and you're at loss with that as you're the one to release the crypto. Another red flag for those not genuine traders that you may encounter are the ones that are in a hurry when trying to push you to release it when there's no confirmation yet. When you encounter one of those, you know what to do.
