901  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Guide and Advice] New Here? How to Earn and Learn. on: November 01, 2023, 08:43:46 PM
I didn't know any of those websites about the earn platforms that you have mentioned so, thank you for that because I have learned something new. And all the coursera and other learning platforms, they're giving the certificate of completion that someone can have as a good start when you apply for a job related to that course you have taken. It is actually a good foundational base of knowledge when you start from these platforms whether you have certificate or none, the important thing there is to have yourself the knowledge and its foundation that you can show through the interview.

Friends, does anyone know how to complain to Google about phishing?

I tried with this page : https://safebrowsing.google.com/safebrowsing/report_phish/?hl=en

I don't know how fast they handle it
That's where I have reported most of the phishing links that I have encountered. But lately, I think this is also a good thing to add that we can also report it to different known tech companies(aside Google) such as Microsoft and even the anti virus companies.
https://www.wikihow.com/Report-a-Website
However, I have already submitted a report as well through that google link.
903  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: changenow.io They are robbers. on: October 31, 2023, 11:58:19 PM
All of those links provided on how bad they are should have been seen by OP before if he did researched about them beforehand the transaction on this platform. However, I am not blaming him because when things go bad, that's the time when we try to search for the feedback of such platforms. It's either they're telling the truth about AML reason or they're just reasoning it out to discourage you for the exchange because it is taking time. Yet, I wish that this case will be solved OP and hopefully this thread gets their attention.
904  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Exchanges allowing fixed monthly investment in BItcoin on: October 31, 2023, 10:54:37 PM
It's a trap that exchanges give you fixed monthly/yearly income for your deposit. How much are they going to give you? 1% and the highest could be is 10% but I haven't seen that one but usually most of them are only giving that small percentage and that's and annual income. I don't think it's worth it, better if my Bitcoins are on my hand and kept by myself than giving them the custody of it. It's not actually worth it, you put your bitcoins in danger by depositing it to them while they give you in return little amounts that are just like certainly small amounts. Maybe if you have huge amounts, that will give you some nice figure but even with that. That's not even the case because when we talk about huge amounts, we don't trust anyone but only ourselves to hold it.
905  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Giveaway Scam On the Rise on: October 31, 2023, 09:50:15 PM
Only greedy people always fall for this type of fraud. Their greed immediately increased after finding out the size of the promised prize, even though some of them already had knowledge from other people's experiences. There is nothing real with methods like this, Thank you Op for sharing this news on the forum, I hope forum members are not tempted by offers of big prizes. Awareness must always be increased to prevent oneself and others from being tempted by big offers that don't make sense.
True but it's sad at the same time that newbies are also going to fall for this even if they're not greedy. Being innocent and thinking that these are legitimate giveaways, they might obliged to join those thinking they've found a jackpot. We can hope for the best for these newbies that they won't fall for these tricks because these scammers keeps on reinventing strategies that they can do from different social medias, messaging platforms and other websites wherein they know that newbies are scattered everywhere. They don't target those that are aware of the scam and oldies in the community, but most likely the new ones and those that haven't read about them and how they scam people.
906  Economy / Economics / Re: Steam drops support for 2 fiat currencies over their volatlity on: October 31, 2023, 10:59:54 AM
This is an interesting move. I would think they will go all USD and maybe

USD - Euro.

But down the road they may add BTC,
Hopefully that they will add Bitcoin again but before, they have added that once but eventually have it removed probably due to its volatility.

I know many people had been using VPNs to get large discounts by changing their country to one of these regions. Sometimes getting a payment method that works can be difficult but with this change it might be easier to use this workaround because USD gift cards are widely available, although you will probably have to pay a bit more than when the pricing was in Argentinian and Turkish currency.
I'm not as hardcore gamer as the others but I have read this in some other forums that they're using VPN and goes to specific region for certain discounts and better support. I guess this is one reason why it has been removed and it's not ideal for Steam to still support these currencies. Some certain features are not available in particular regions but could have been available for these regions so for those gamers that know how to switch, prolly aware of it.

907  Economy / Speculation / Re: 127% Up from Bottom in 2022 on: October 30, 2023, 08:27:09 PM
The rally from the bottom has been explosive, but not enough to capture mainstream attention yet. Plenty of people I talk to still think Bitcoin has crashed and burned. When Bitcoin starts being thrust into everyone’s faces again I think the rally will be tremendous. Most people aren’t interested and we’re at $34,300. It won’t be long now.
I agree that the price isn't enough to convince them for now. But those that have been out of the market for sure have seen this push and they're getting back knowing that halving is around the corner. The strategy that they're doing is to get onto the market when the movement is so fast that they can't ignore it anymore and the price that can't be ignored anymore of how high it can go.

The sideaway market position between 33-34k is still a safe position from the impact of market corrections, the market has the potential to reach a price of 40k at the beginning of next month, and we hope that there will be no negative issues that will have an impact on worsening the market situation.
If we get this point as the support and becomes the stabilizing level, that's much better and we're really in a safe position before any corrections or skyrockets.
908  Other / Archival / Re: 🌀 [banned mixer] - CoinJoin Mixer | Your Anonymity Is Our Priority! on: October 30, 2023, 06:11:50 PM
There's also this method;

Once you are logged into your account, go to the chat section and search for ‘@notoscam’ bot. The name of the bot is Antiscam and it has a verified tick on it as well.

Code:
https://t.me/notoscam

This should work too. The important part is to have those groups reported. Eventually, the reports could contain also links to UniJoin's website, /en/contact]Contact section, as there is visible the official Telegram name of UniJoin, thus ensuring Telegram that the other group is fake. (At least, this is what I did when I made the report.)
Yeah, that's the main goal. We just have to report all of these fake channels copying unijoin, of course the real one.

I agree with you. It's important to include official links so that the agent handling the report owns all the necessary information.

I've saved on my device a little copy/paste message to mass-report these groups:

Quote
This group is a scam, impersonating [banned mixer]

The real Unijoin website is: https://[banned mixer]/
The contact page (with their official networks at the bottom of the page) is: https://[banned mixer]/en/contact
The official Unijoin Telegram channel is: t.me/unijoin

Thank you for taking the time to delete this fraudulent group.
Thanks, this is for easier reporting.

Surprisingly, the slots were sold out quite quickly.  Smiley
And that's also quick that there's already a lucky winner. JanEmil. Congrats to him, maybe he'll drop by here soon.

So it wil a 100 slots raffle I guess!?  Huh
That's a lot but maybe soon if unijoin is going to add more slots depending on the mechanics of the raffle.
909  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Sent Coin by mistake to wrong address and got them back:) on: October 30, 2023, 04:50:43 PM
I feel lucky that I found the owner of the address and he seems like good person and very reputable on this forum Smiley
You're lucky that you're able to determine who's the owner of the address but how did you managed to send it to a random address(his) when you don't know him? What are you doing that time when you're trying to send that transaction? Are you also in the forum and just trying to browse and by random accident you copied his address but how? I am just confused. As long as your problem is solved and you have no worries anymore, you tend to be lucky this time but whatever you do and how you did ended up sending it to the wrong address by mistake the next time you commit this mistake and you can't see the owner of it. The receiver might just think he's lucky that he's got some random airdrop.
910  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin is magic internet money on: October 30, 2023, 08:42:29 AM
And Bitcoin doesn't really exist, it's just code and we can "see" it in our wallet, we can't touch it like real cash, because it's only 0 or 1 (or hashs).
Codes do exists and they're inside the computer programmed to generate cash through the central banks or machines they use. Let's say that cash doesn't really exist, it's just paper just as toilet paper that we use based on its function and what the government told us that fiat/cash is money that we can see in our wallets? I think it's been so long that many still don't acknowledge bitcoin as a real money. as long as it is being used as a medium of exchange just as money, bitcoin therefore is money whether you call internet money, still it doesn't change the fact that it can do what fiat/cash does.
911  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Is Bitspincasino scam? on: October 29, 2023, 11:51:09 PM
IMHO, usually casinos don't just allow you to deposit and just withdraw the entire amount because that could flag your account as related to money laundering or so. If they're telling you to wager three times and then you just did if it's not requiring an amount. How much did you wager with that three times? regardless of result, you're able to fill that requirement and they should allow you to do that. If they still don't allow you to withdraw having that requirements followed, then that's where the red flag should start. How long you've been waiting for that withdrawal? Didn't they say anything that they're reviewing your account for the withdrawal? Because if they reason out another one like you should wager with this 'xx' amount, well that's another tricky requirement to suck your $100.
912  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A bad practice that cost a friend everything. on: October 29, 2023, 10:10:32 PM
Now I am starting to believe that some app creators are intentionally creating useful apps for people to use only to gain access into their files and pictures, this is why when apps ask for some access on my phone I always block them.

This is new to me, but let's take this serious, some stupid crypto wallets still allow taking screenshots, it's wrong, this should be a RED FLAG when installing a crypto wallet on your phone, and as for you and everyone it's a stupid idea to take screenshot of your recovery seed.

Do not be like those average users, take your wallet security very seriously like your life depends on it.
While the scammers and phishers are using websites to take the seeds and private keys of the victims that they can. It's likely that these apps can also scan out the images on someone's smartphone when most of the time, we just tend to agree and check all the conditions given to them so that we can download the app. It's not a good idea to have screenshots, saved in cloud, email and any other devices where our seeds can be  exposed to anyone. On this case that you have already asked for Binance's cooperation, although the funds are likely withdrawn already but the details that they can provide to you and your friend can help you if you want to pursue it.

Stop taking screenshot of your recovery seeds, it's basically you storing it online for someone else to see.
Don't be lazy on how you keep your recovery seeds properly by simply writing it down with many backups but not with screenshots.
913  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would happen if there was only one cryptocurrency, which is Bitcoin? on: October 29, 2023, 08:49:47 PM
It's possible that the growth of Bitcoin could have been faster if there's no other cryptocurrencies in the market. But I think I'll go by that it has been better with all of these altcoins that have been made throughout time because it just shown on how valuable Bitcoin is. We have understood on how Bitcoin is important in the market and how it's making the move for majority of the cryptos in the market. If it's not about other cryptocurrencies, we can't determine on what actually Bitcoin is but because of them, we can say that Bitcoin is the OG of the cryptos and the king of this market.
Perhaps if there weren't so many altcoins, there wouldn't be so many exchanges appearing. Interest in cryptocurrencies would not have arisen because of the hype. Bitcoin could be worth much less than it is now and not be so popular.
Well, one thing that's for sure is we don't know what it would be but every speculation on how it went if it's only Bitcoin, it's possible that there's not that much growth as it looks like that there's no competition. We can realize from this point of view that competition is healthy.

The hype around altcoins attracts new users.
And from there, they're also attracted to Bitcoin at some point because they will realize on how valuable Bitcoin is on this market and why everyone is holding it and tells them that whenever they are in profit, it's best to just put that stack on Bitoin.

915  Economy / Economics / Re: Almost All Countries Affected by Inflation, Opportunity for Bitcoin! on: October 28, 2023, 10:36:55 PM
I am not great in economics but just likes to watched videos related to how these countries are experiencing inflation. With I believe for these hyperinflation and countries that are experiencing it, it seems that they're on the peak and there's like no exit on it if the government won't do better. It's not going to take a few years for them to get out of it and policies done by them should be favorable to the new money coming in to them. It's not just all about the financial system that they have but also the government policies that's being implemented that affects wholly their economy. As for these countries that have already been broken, doing something new could be their hope. Investing in Bitcoin is one as it seems their reserve won't be enough anymore but the question is, do they have enough funds to do that?
916  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Whether Bitcoin ETFs are approved or not, we expect bullish trend on: October 28, 2023, 02:39:04 PM
Even before these ETFs have been applied, we're already assuming that the bull run is about to come because of the halving, nothing more nothing less. So, with these ETFs granted that they will be approved means that there's another component that will help to gain that bull run.
But most investors have already been here and those that are newly investing because of the Bitcoin ETFs, you can't blame them if they're in for that because that's how they met this market but they'll soon understand that the market isn't all about those ETFs and what not.
917  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Not a casual fan but want to participate in sportsbetting on: October 27, 2023, 11:42:07 PM
once an NBA fan somewhat like a casual fan of NBA and wants to bet on matches.

being a fan but not going to do some research about the players and team conditions, how am i going to participate in sports betting specifically on the NBA?
i wouldn't want to just keep following based on the odds. seemingly as a bettor, it requires ramping up on lots of updates and knowledge of the sport and how the team players are doing. how am i to do it?
It's not much to think of when you want to bet on NBA matches. Whether you do research or not, you can simply cast your bets on your favorite teams. You can do that for fun if you want to but it's better if you'll allot time first before you make a bet just for your assurance that you know what you've been doing. But if can accept losses and you can bear that, that's okay as long as you don't do that on a streak and you learn a lesson every time you lose. That's what matters there and don't forget to enjoy every single bet you might make.
918  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New way to keep your seed phrase secure. on: October 27, 2023, 10:27:42 PM
IMO, that's a good idea especially if English is just a second language for you and you've got your native language. But don't make it look obvious when you're going to write it down. As long as you're trying to censor the actual phrase of yours and you're doing anything for you to add another extra layer of protection to your seed phrase, do it. I agree with what they are saying that don't search it out on Google because they're keeping track of their visitors and searched words.
919  Other / Archival / Re: 🌀 [banned mixer] - CoinJoin Mixer | Your Anonymity Is Our Priority! on: October 27, 2023, 09:18:12 PM
Thanks for the alarm sokani, it's worrying that the fake telegram has got a lot of users, 12k+ members/subscribers that's misleading people from the real [banned mixer] website to their fake and scam website. They got 3.9k views with their most recent post there and I just hope that telegram will review the channel and have it removed already based on the reports that it receives and hoping they're not slow as what Google does with their reports.

I'm not sure, but I imagine most of these groups buy followers to look legit.
Yeah, I forgot that it's possible to buy followers or subscribers for any social media these days as most of them are just bots just to convince potential visitors of these fake channels.

For sure, the more reports we send, the faster it will be handled. This usually takes between 5 and 15 days to be processed by Telegram.
In some quora posts that I've read, it's said to be 3 days and hopefully that it's even faster than these days. So while reading some FAQ on Telegram, there's also another easy way to report aside from:

Reports should be sent to abuse@telegram.org.

There's also this method;

Once you are logged into your account, go to the chat section and search for ‘@notoscam’ bot. The name of the bot is Antiscam and it has a verified tick on it as well.

920  Economy / Economics / Re: Btc vs dollars on: October 27, 2023, 07:48:30 PM
Presently, should we say it's good the way bitcoin its been tied to dollars? Dollars is not backed up with any resources but to my understanding, bitcoin is a product of great energy surge. We shouldn't let bitcoin tied to dollars but bitcoin standing on its own.
While majority of the pair of it is based on the dollars. It doesn't mean that it's already tied on it, it's like the pricing of it has been with the US dollars but look at other markets, there's also the pricing of it that's been based on our fiat currencies. Nothing will change as bitcoin will still be bitcoin regardless of where people think is tied. And as for the USD, isn't it backed up by gold?

What could decide the durability and value of bitcoin?
The value of Bitcoin is determined by us, by our trust and by the cost of mining and don't forget about the law of supply and demand.

I have some ideas..
Let us know what you have in your mind.
