881  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Be careful were you put your hard earn money on: October 20, 2023, 12:01:38 PM
Hopefully, we don't just get the same reason when the bull run is done. Anyway, it's still quite far to think of it and everyone were amazed of what Luna / Do Kwon did of investing to Bitcoin to make it look great that their project is backed by Bitcoin reserves. But apart from that, there were more shady things and something else with that. Everyone learned there that still nothing beats Bitcoin and no people, no project that it controls it but only itself and the technicals beyond it, which had become its natural ecosystem.
882  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Experience is key, go for it. on: October 19, 2023, 11:20:28 PM
As you choose either to trade, mine, or do what works best for you, don't forget to learn the fundamentals and apply them correctly.
It's different this time. It's so nice to see that many newbies are already welcoming and knowledgeable with what they're entering and that's the market, investing in Bitcoin and as well as the forum.

also learn how to start small and gradually, you learn on the job and with time your experience level should have grown and you can now start making a reasonably calculated risk.
Exactly. As you start, start small and take it like you're on a ladder through step by step. But no one stops them if they want an instant knowledge, instant investment and so on. But the thing is to learn the process and make a progress.
883  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tips on staying responsible. on: October 19, 2023, 07:36:20 PM
Talking about being responsible, you're not gambling with the money you don't own. And if you do own it, you'll only gamble with the very amount that you're totally fine to lose it. Why we keep saying this? Because we keep on reading stories that they've gambled with the amount that they can't afford to lose and that's why it should be repeatedly said for everyone to remember it. If no one tries to give this reminder and we keep reading more and more stories about how they've lost money they don't own and they can't afford to lose, the problem is on the person already and pretty much that you can be responsible as much as you can by just staying away to any casino and never gamble at all. Do not follow up those losses with another potential losses by gambling again.
884  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: One of ways to identify scams on: October 19, 2023, 01:39:42 PM
At first place if you want to buy a product using crypto wallet is they will provide the address and which coin you've proved for the mode of payment and just waiting for confirmation, but again take not first check if the platform is legit and really authorize to use this kind of mode of payment, before I make a decision too with the crypto platform that not yet known i made a thread here to identify and what are the experiences of another member so i know if i will proceed or to avoid this platform. Today its easy to promote a scam platform just paid the google so you can get the top suggested in the main search but be careful with the URL. Its already red flag once they ask a private seed.
Honestly, if I'll purchase a product that this quite expensive. I'll do the traditional method and I'll be the one to convert bitcoin into fiat and let that purchase happen in cash. Although I've done transactions from shopping and online websites directly with Bitcoin, I'll just go through with the method that I am much safer since these are the amounts that I can't afford to lose even though I am sure that I won't fall for these schemes. Or if I'll use directly Bitcoin for this type of purchase, I'll make sure and will do a lot of research about the website before doing the transaction or much better to only do it on a reputable one.
885  Economy / Economics / Re: Russian Crypto Exchange Moves Money for Gaza Groups on: October 19, 2023, 08:49:18 AM
Now, this is another negative feedback for crypto because of these terrorism funding. We're all against these wars and this only shows that many lives will be taken with these money that came from money laundering.

Okay, let's accept Russia gave 93 million to the Gaza terrorist organization but what they are going to do with that when the entire country is under siege and not to forget that Israel cut down the food, water, and electricity supply already.

Whenever governments need a reason to put the blame they just point it towards cryptocurrency. Roll Eyes
I do understand that it can be a misleading tactic from whoever funds it and to point the blame but if it's proven, it's unacceptable to fund these attacks. These will take away lives of money and whether it's a diversion tactic, many innocent people have been affected and sacrificed by this nonsense war.
886  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin market dominance on: October 19, 2023, 06:47:52 AM
At the same time, I couldn't really find anything related to Bitcoin in 2017, but I was surprised to see that BTC's price went from $1000 to $20K in a year. So if there was a 20x increase in price, how could the dominance go that low?
ICOs were kind of new and people were new to it and they pumped it and expecting ROI. Not knowing it is like pump and dump ponzi schemes. The price of the altcoins increased significantly. When the bear market came, the altcoins fell in price significantly and some were dead. Altcoins creation and pump makes them to compete with bitcoin and reduce bitcoin dominance.
That's right, it was due to the ICOs during that time and the craze was like how people have been into the NFTs. And it's like every week there's a new ICO project and investors are flocking into those projects and filling every crowd sale that they're getting. That was the time that when it's likely every project becomes successful every launch not until the bull run ended and 2018 came and still have tried but that's like the slow death of the ICO era. The same with the NFTs that have been the place of many scams, so do the ICOs were.

888  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Coinbase got licensed In Singapore on: October 18, 2023, 10:41:20 PM
I agree that this news could have a positive impact on other countries.
Mainly on the South Asia, Singapore is very strategic and a known country so Coinbase having a license there means they know who and which countries they're targeting.

Will it attract other major exchanges to the country?
Maybe, like with what Binance has been doing then it's giving the alarm to them that they're about to be taken over so each move is like also a strategic based for them on which region they should go on.

Will it encourage more businesses to start accepting cryptocurrency payments? I'm excited to see what the future holds!
Possible and we will have to see that happen since many do admire the richness and progress of Singapore so getting a license there is like giving them the passes to the entire market of South East Asia and other nearby regions as well.
889  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Trade vs. HODL - avoid traps on: October 18, 2023, 09:31:40 PM
Trading is a business where you can see both profit and loss. Trading with proper market research has the potential to be profitable. Most of the traders lose in trading because they don't have enough knowledge about trading and most of the traders don't study the market to determine which direction the market might go due to which they suffer.
Even they have the same knowledge in trading, it's the reality that many don't see that in trading many of them losses.

Investing is a step ahead of trading, trading is done for short term while investing is usually done for long term. If you are not a patient person then investing is never for you. Investing will test your patience, if you fail the patience test then you will not get the expected profit from the investment but if you do not fail the patience test and if you can bear the risk and hold your investment for a long time then you will get successful from the investment.
While on this one, trading can also be done in long term but someone will see on how the words we say about it becomes into reality when they do it in actuality. Many traders chose the path of being a holder because it's so much better and easier. When I say easier, when you're able to see how risky both of them, you'll just be happy and sit to the side and HODL. And don't get it wrong when we say HODL, it's best done through Bitcoin even if the world tells you to buy this xx or that xx, don't always go with them because what works for them couldn't work for you. But what has proven to be working for everybody is to HOLD Bitcoin.
890  Economy / Economics / Re: Marketing Strategies in the Digital Age on: October 18, 2023, 07:16:12 PM
I do a lot of online shopping and cash on delivery really reduces the chance of being scammed. But, if I've got some balance on my e-wallets or bank, that's how I pay them because it's hassle when the delivery guy comes to my house and I'm out, they'll not leave the parcel or goods because it is unpaid. Unlike if I pay in advance, they'll just leave it and take a picture and will be sent to the app and that's more convenient for both of us. And just like the traditional marketing, internet marketing or digital marketing has become one of the best career these days. Because there are a lot of platforms where companies can advertise their products and they need marketers to do it. This is what technology does and gives more platform and choices to advertisers.
891  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Warning]: Scam/Fake Binance Word of the Day (WOTD) on: October 18, 2023, 05:59:01 PM
True, and that's why it is not advisable to really used Google as search engine for crypto related, like looking for exchanges, bitcoin mixer or even gambling platforms because this criminals can exploit Google ads and place their phishing sites on the very first page of Google.

And most likely it is spread to social media as what it was pointed out.

Or even is cases that this scammers are going to used text messages or sms to trick and scam anyone.
Yes even casinos as well, almost every service that when you try to search on search engines like Google. You'll see the counterpart of these scams that will be on top of all of the results but Google never gives that warning to the visitors. Too many sources that they are using and in every platform, all of them are also there monitoring and trying to trick everyone, every newbie that they can. It's because they've been always the most vulnerable victims that they are targeting, actually, they are the main targets of them.
892  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Warning]: Scam/Fake Binance Word of the Day (WOTD) on: October 17, 2023, 11:29:04 PM
TravelMug

How  did  you  come across this phishing site?

Im curious to know how its being spread, through emails/twitter/telegram or any other channel etc

As that might also help to stay more vigilant on such channels
Not him but I'll give an answer. Usually, you can come across these phishing links if you simply search them through Google. Google is known for not filtering these scam and phishing websites and that's why if you just search for some keywords that they're using for their SEO, they're going to appear in the first result.
I've come across with many of these from search engines and as well as in social medias and that's why they will never stop no matter how we keep up and monitor these. The problem is the platform itself is allowing these to exist because they are getting paid and that's the thing for them and not for the welfare of many of their users that can be potentially a victim of these scams. Anyway, they have come across as well with a solution but we need to cooperate with them by reporting these scam/phishing links.
893  Economy / Speculation / Re: Recent market manipulation shows the enormous potential to reach the moon! on: October 17, 2023, 09:47:13 PM
It's like a ticking bomb ready to explode and yes, we're talking about the money that's waiting on the side lines when the right time comes.

But whatever it is, I feel that the current price of Bitcoin is still being held down by "them," but I don't know who they are. But no matter what, I'm still enjoying this Bitcoin journey while taking profits little by little and still waiting for the next ATH.

But I could be wrong about this so I am sorry.
We have no idea who they are but we're mostly going to agree to just let it say that they're the 'whales'. Well, that doesn't mean that they're literally the big players in the market but there's another description of them now just after how they're able to manipulate the price. And that means they're the literal manipulators of the market, we don't know how big or small they are or how significant all of them are or how synchronized they are.
894  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think? Selling all or not on: October 17, 2023, 07:49:21 PM
If selling all of your Bitcoin during the bull run will make you happy and satisfied, no one can take that away from you. But as usual, we still want to hold Bitcoin after that because we know that every cycle, the higher price of Bitcoin comes. And if you decided to sell everything then you have to make sure that you don't regret it or if you do, you'll have to wait for another bear market and then just acquire some of it from that profit you've made. It's also a cycle where many just repeats what they do like buying again when it's cheaper then taking some profits during the bull run, rinse and repeat that's it. Another one is that you can sell in a DCA mode. Just like how we accumulate in DCA, you can sell some portions of it for every price you think is good to sell so you still have some BTC remaining on your portfolio.

First never think that you need someone to do the changes for you. Next, try to read on how the other passed the qualifications for the jobs that they're applying for. Make sure that you use those Upwork connects wisely and apply only to the jobs that you think you're qualified for.
Maybe there's something wrong with your cover letters or proposals so start from there and try to read tips from various articles that you can search on google.

Thank you for some of the directions you gave. I will fix some of my applications there and try to include new applications there.
You're welcome, maybe it's really from those proposals or cover letters and make sure that you've got some edge and advantage for the jobs that you apply for. When you think that you don't fit it, don't apply yet because recruiters are looking quickly to everyone's applications and when they don't see that you're fit based on your cv or proposal, they'll just gonna skip you quickly for real. I'm not a recruiter but that's what I've read from the perspective of one recruiter that has shared some tips on how they scout applicants and screen applications.

Cointelegraph issues apology after falsely announcing that BlackRock's Spot Bitcoin ETF was approved by the SEC.

This news raised the price of Bitcoin in a short time.
They really owe the world an apology and whoever is behind that monitor, the intern they say, is likely gonna feel ashamed of what has happened. This incident will make them better and will verify before they publish a news that will be read globally. The next time they make an error, then there could be possible legal consequences that they have to face.

where can I find the famous fake news in the last 5 years?

thx guys Wink
I can't find an overview or list of the fake news that has happened for the past 5 years. I think if you're looking for them, all you have to do is to allot time and search them manually since everything are published on the web. And if you're going to search for most of them, they'll definitely appear with certain keywords that you're looking for.

From some other sources, it seems that someone from their team made very nice money, and the apology is free anyway.

The heck. What a nice payday for that intern.
897  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Warning]: Scam/Fake Binance Word of the Day (WOTD) on: October 17, 2023, 08:21:38 AM
Me either, when a website suddenly asks me to connect a wallet even if I don't have any wallet on a PC that I use or device it actually scares the shit out of me. Like it's gonna pop when you visit them and there goes the icons in front of me like walletconnect, Metamask, etc. Aside from that red flag, the duration of its existence is obviously made just to phish unaware users.

Also report here: https://safebrowsing.google.com/safebrowsing/report_phish/?hl=en. Thank you for those who are going to do their part here.
Done brother.
898  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you ever feel tired of waiting? on: October 16, 2023, 11:52:04 PM
Yeah, that's one regret that I also hear from the friends of mine that I've shared the talk about Bitcoin. They've been there during the 2017 bull run but made them lousy and tired on 2018 because of the bear market. I guess that's how it works really for those who are staying and believing on it than to just get a quick cash and leave. But no matter what happens, everyone who has seen this market before will and can comeback anytime that they wish to. The past is the lesson that we have to apply for what's coming to us within the nearest future.
I actually never believed that Bitcoin was a get-rich-quick scheme—quite the opposite. Perhaps the reason I quit was because I believed that Bitcoin was over after such a major crash. It was the first time we saw it thriving so rapidly in 2017, surpassing $20,000 in an extremely short period of time and then proceeding to crash back to where it was. I honestly thought it was over. I stuck around for a while but quit after a few months.
I guess the squeeze during that time just made you quit and I've read a lot of thoughts just as yours that made them quit as well. Well, it's understandable when you thought of it that the bull run was over or when it's the entire thing about Bitcoin. It was still considered new IMO by that time because that ATH was just currently an ATH these days.

I wish I was more knowledgeable and wouldn't have quit.
That's okay, you're still here despite that and you've got that lesson to remember and just always think of it whenever you're thinking of quitting again when the times comes just like a few years ago. Your reaction today would be more assuring to yourself and the decisions that you'll act on won't be the same as before.

It's been a while since I have read an article from unijoin and I agree with gazeta as well that this is more than the Bitcoin whitepaper itself but the history that it has included. Honesty, I've read some unfamiliar names and from there, I've already learned something new. It's good as the summary of the 9 page of the whitepaper including the resources. Coming from the worst great depression, into e-gold and now - Bitcoin. Good for the newbies to know the history, concept, came from and all of those ideas that can be taken to for them to know the roots of Bitcoin.

Upwork has quite strict qualifications. I submitted applications as a freelancer there many times and have not yet been accepted. I was frustrated when I became a freelancer on Upwork. Judging from the reviews and performance of Upwork, it is very good and there are many projects there with pretty good pay.
Just try again and try to do some changes on your proposals as the competition there is truly tough. It's not easy to land some projects there and even more with the long term clients.

Until now I am still trying to become part of Upwork, do you have any suggestions for me so that I pass the Upwork qualification?
First never think that you need someone to do the changes for you. Next, try to read on how the other passed the qualifications for the jobs that they're applying for. Make sure that you use those Upwork connects wisely and apply only to the jobs that you think you're qualified for.

Nevertheless, you can expect to earn at least $1 in a day."
You can change that description because someone might really think that it's $1 per ad, not $1 for the entire ads that will be displayed on your account per day max.
