Well thank god for that notice that just appeared about the "AUTO-NOTICE: The CPPSRB reward system appears to be in fail-safe mode."  I was just about to post about my stats seeming to be frozen.
1442  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: BITMAIN Antminer support and OverClocking thread on: January 29, 2014, 05:42:52 PM
Anyone have success at going past 400Mhz?  Mine is totally happy at 400 with less than .003 HW which makes me wonder if I can pull more but I don't recall seeing anyone say they had done so for any length of time without HW issues.
1443  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive ASICMiner Cube Setup on: January 25, 2014, 03:15:21 AM
I have two cubes running on low clock.  They used to run at 30ish Ghs but after a week and half or so now they both run at 25 Ghs all the time.  Any ideas?  It isn't a heat problem, unless being too cold is a problem.
1444  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Was your exchange account or online wallet hacked? - Possible explanation on: January 24, 2014, 04:36:13 PM
Interesting reactions.  I have not seen it in relation to bitcoin stuff but I know with absolute certainty that the scenario I proposed above is possible so "nope, never" is wishful thinking (at best).  I have observed in the capacity of my work on multiple occasions,  java applets that downloaded and ran executable files in windows, so if that is possible then what I have suggested above is possible.  Believe whatever you like though.

Here is a version history for the current JRE (SE 7).

Java SE 7 Update 51      2014-01-14 36 security fixes

But as I say, believe what you like.  As an experiment you could always go find a version of JRE 6 and then surf as many sketchy sites as you can find that use java and see how much malware you accumulate.  And bitcoin related malware is becoming more common.

I also think some of these hacks are due to people downloading smart phone apps that have hidden malicious intent.  My understanding is that most people don't pay much attention to the rights an app asks for when it is installed.  So if you have a malicious app on your phone and you log into a bitcoin exchange or wallet, it wouldn't surprise me to hear that your coins got swiped.
1445  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: campbx phishing attack? on: January 24, 2014, 04:01:47 PM
I got the same email this morning.  CampBX is in major decline anyway.  After my last fiasco with their insanely non-responsive customer service I resolved never to go near the place again.
1446  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cryptsy new interesting ideas in development on: January 23, 2014, 06:43:16 PM
2FA is enabled by default on Cryptsy.  Who is this OP making this post?  Never seen them before.
1447  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: WARNING! Someone just took my Bitcoin from my blockchain.info account on: January 23, 2014, 06:40:47 PM
I have speculated on a possible explanation: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=405411.msg4391686#msg4391686 although if you haven't logged into it for a month this is probably not the case here.

Seen quite a few similar sounding stories around here lately though.
1448  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [9 TH] Bitparking Pool, DGM 0%,vardiff,stratum,Merge Mining on: January 22, 2014, 11:15:52 PM
Well I'm glad that's over.
1449  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Btc-e withdraw glitch no support please help! on: January 22, 2014, 09:26:50 PM
That is troubling.  I have only withdrawn BTC 3 times and each time it went fine, but assuming I ever want my BTC back that I have on there for trade I will eventually need to move it off.  Total lack of support seems to actually be the norm for BTC exchanges.
1450  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: BITMAIN Antminer support and OverClocking thread on: January 22, 2014, 05:53:30 PM
I haven't managed to control the fan yet, but for those who don't care about noise and want better cooling you can just remove the blue wire from the fan connector (or cut it, if you're lazy). Just use a small precision flat blade screwdriver and push in the little locking tab at the back of the 4 pin fan connector. In the absence of a PWM signal the fan just spins up to full speed, which the Antminer is reporting as 3900RPM. Doing that dropped my temps from 47 to 35 at 400MHz.

Thanks for this!  Lowered my temps 10 degrees with just this.
1451  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: BITMAIN Antminer support and OverClocking thread on: January 22, 2014, 05:52:08 PM
This thread is for support related discussions of the BITMAIN Antminer S2 hashing device

How to overclock your miner to 400MHz / 205GH/s. My suggestion is to clock them at 375. 400 is a bit too harsh on the voltage regulator.
All clock speeds including 375MHz work on both revision of boards.

The miner will draw 500 - 525Watts at the wall (110V mains) after this setting

Hi,

Is there a special Btmain Antminer U1 support thread for Wndows users?

Thanks

The operating system on your pc is irrelevant to the antminer as you access it via a browser or ssh

He's talking about the U1 (USB miner).
1452  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [9 TH] Bitparking Pool, DGM 0%,vardiff,stratum,Merge Mining on: January 22, 2014, 02:34:25 AM
Well I hope this stupid block doesn't kill the pool.  It looks like we lost one of the 1 Ths miners.  I have added 265 Ghs since this block started.
1453  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Highs and Lows on Cryptsy charts on: January 20, 2014, 12:31:54 AM
Have been watching these charts a fair bit and have noticed that some of the highs and lows are not being reached as portrayed by the charts,

this could be defective software or the exchange could be doing it on purpose to fool traders.

I noticed on some coins, but seemingly not all, the high it marks on the chart corresponds with the value you put in on the order, not what price it actually matches at.  So for example on DOGE, if you put in a buy at some ridiculously high price (say .1 BTC) but only a volume of a few thousand, the chart will mark it as having hit a high of .1BTC even though your few thousand coins will all match and buy at market (like .00000054).  So the chart makes it look as though it spiked and went back down even though it never even moved past the lowest sell point.  It would not shock me to see other coins doing the same.  They seem more interested in adding every coin under the sun than making sure what they already have works.  And that has been true for many months now.

As for the overlap in the order book, it is lag.  That has been happening for months and months too.  Sometimes it seems like they get it cleared up and then it happens again.  I like cryptsy but to be honest I don't think Vern has the database skills to make it work on his own.  There is clear database optimization stuff that is sorely needed over there.
1454  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive ASICMiner Cube Setup on: January 17, 2014, 11:34:15 PM
Is it normal for the fuse to be warm to the touch on high clock?  I have 2 cubes, one doesn't like high clock, the other one seems ok but the fuse is warm to the touch.  I have only had it on high clock for 4 or 5 hours now after running on low for a couple days, but I don't know if I should leave it on high or not.

I had one cube totally destroy the fuse, fuse holder and do considerable damage to the main board after a week of running on the high clock speed.
I have had to jury rig a repair using heavy gauge wire running to an external fuse. The new fuse runs hot to the touch (>50c), you can keep your finger on the fuse, but it is uncomfortable, on the point of starting to burn. One advantage of the wires is I can place the fuse itself in the airflow to the fan which cools it somewhat.

The design they have used, is that both power feeds are combined into one 12v rail just before the fuse. I think a better design would have been to keep the two high current feeds on separate rails each feeding 3 blades and have a third 12v feed from the power supply (there are usually plenty of those spare even on power supplies running multiple cubes) feeding the main board, fan and Ethernet port. That would spread the load out more

I guess I'll leave it on low clock for the weekend.  It seemed mostly fine all day but leaving it alone over the 3 day weekend to test how well it handles high clock doesn't seem like a good idea.  Touching the fuse portion where the little loop of wire is is definitely hot enough to burn.  Not immediately, and not like blister or anything, but holding a finger tip there for a few seconds produced a red sore spot.  Next week I'll try an overnight on high clock and see what happens.
1455  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BitSimple. Looking for a dozen or so beta testers who want early access. on: January 17, 2014, 10:10:07 PM
I used fastcash4bitcoins so I am looking forward to this but I am not looking to sell at these prices.  But I have been holding most of my coins for a long time so when you work out the beta stuff and open for everyone I'll give it a whirl for sure.

What about recently? Especially in case sending the personal check. It did not take long a while ago but the check I sent recently has not cleared yet.

You might want to do a little forum search and see what you come up with.  Lots of problems with this place lately.  Their facebook page was covered with complaints too, until they deleted it.

Have you tried the bfgminer stratum proxy?

Thanks for the suggestion.  I was able to get this working after all.

Have you tried the bfgminer stratum proxy?

I was not aware of it.  I'll check it out, thanks.

EDIT:  Getting ambiguous results from bfgminer proxy.  I am trying to test this on a machine that only has the CPU for mining.  Using the old stratum_proxy.exe which I think was a slush thing originally, I can connect to BitMinter and using ufasoft CPU miner I can submit shares and see them counted on the BitMinter website.  Trying to connect to Bitparking using that stratum proxy gives the errors I mentioned above.  Using bfgminer only as a proxy it seems to connect just fine to both BitMinter and Bitparking.  The thing is that when I use the ufasoft CPU miner while bfgminer is connected to either pool, I see on the CPU miner that shares are accepted but BFGminer does not report them.  Nor do they appear on the website for either BitMinter or Bitparking.  So while it looks like it is working, the shares don't seem to be arriving at the destination.
