You all should have listened to my advice to dump XMR and buy ETH in January! I've since sold 400BTC worth of ETH and still hold 35k in cold storage.. My XMR holdings are 0 now.

Do it NOW before its too late! Don't forget its all over for XMR once ring signature dapp comes out (Vitalik personally working on it!)

You were right on January. Unfortunately I am afraid it is too late now to buy eth as it is pretty expensive. Better to stick coins that are undervalued, such  as xmr.

You are wrong.
RemindMe! 90 days....

How can you be so assured? Is there anything concretic arguments behind such a wonderful claim?
I am not a believer so I am open to new ideas as long as the arguments are solid like a rock. A mere attempt to pump'n'dump a coin is not such type of argument.

Etherium has brought a lot of money into Poloniex.
Once people who have money in Etherium are awfully rich, Monero might be getting some investments from there also and it might mean a mega move in the price of XMR.
Therefore it is good not to start a war against ETH but start to tell them about a great opportunity to diversify their assets. ETH serves its purpose well and XMR has entirely different purpose (it's intended to be cash equivalent money).
1444  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum is great, but not money, which is why Poloniex has an XMR market. on: March 03, 2016, 04:38:54 AM
I bought 100 ETH in early january.. man, that's GREAT !!

I truly believe that Ethereum, Monero and Bitcoin will be the three currencies with huge impact in future. I believe because they don't have only the size of this forum or the exclusive programming community... Litecoin will always be the silver of Bitcoin (even if it's price is less than the ETH or some other, I really like, it's my opinion).

Ethereum and Monero has both a tremedous universe to explore, like Bitcoin, it's just in the beginning.

Wow, this world is going crazy. I really need to move to Canada soon. OMG.

 Cool

You nailed it.
1445  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Buying ethereum from poloniex - is it risky? on: March 02, 2016, 06:52:36 PM
Why would it be risky?

Because it has been risen pretty fast.
I do not know if Poloniex is a risk factor in itself though.
1446  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: March 02, 2016, 05:14:17 PM
Annoying, for the sake of such a small amount of coins (only 8500 usd) one needs to dump like crazy and risking of now being able to accumulate cheaper.

However, I wonder why he announced his manipulation publically?

Your post history in this thread and your signature might have been a 101 for these types  Roll Eyes

The only difference is I announce my moves afterwards (past tense).
I think the tweet was announcing "I am going to buy 10 000 XMR" (future tense).
1447  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Where i can buy ETH? on: March 02, 2016, 05:05:26 PM
You have found yourself to this forum yet not having any clue from where to purchase etherium...?  Shocked

I am somehow flattered to be at the top of your list of suspects, but for the record, no, I continue to accumulate slowly.  That smell of rotting bearwhale on the shore -- not me.

Your announcement of extreme bullishness sounds to my ears you are thinking of unloading bags full of diamonds on us.

Are you sure there is no conflict of an interest? Apparently it is in the best interest of Risto to have cheap xmr..
Now we can speculate on who is the bear whale in the markets.

I'm getting fairly concerned about the "value* discrepancy" between XMR and ETH.
(* - value as defined by proponents of XMR)

ETH has been on an upward parabolic growth curve ever since early Jan 2016.
It has broken the ATH of 0.008888 (set on 14 Aug 2015) on 10th Feb 2016, and has successfully retested the 0.008888 on 18 Feb 2016.
ETH has not looked back ever since, and has made another 20% jump up yesterday.

Success begets success, momentum begets momentum.

If there are no obvious catalysts for XMR's growth in the near-term, the distance between these two will continue to grow wider.

ETH appears to be a good speculative vehicle for aspiring George Soros'es.
The question is, will XMR continue to be supported by crypto-minded Warren Buffets around the world?

I am not worried about ETH at all. It is not competing against XMR.
There are plenty of space and funds in the universe.
However, I agree XMR is not that good trading tool as there is not really that much money to be made in short term swings unless you do not use leverage which multiplies even the smallest movements. However, there are also risks involved in marginal trading.
1452  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: March 01, 2016, 07:00:55 PM
Some shorts have been covered. Still a big part of shorts are open waiting for being closed probably in the money.
1453  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: March 01, 2016, 04:51:36 PM
I think the majority of btc community get the point once Monero's marketcap is somewhere Etherium is now or even higher.

Some heavy dumping taking place.

ETH mooning might be the reason.

The good news is, there are open short positions (96 % of my Moneros in lending markets are employed and the remaining 4 % are waiting for higher interest rates) - the open short positions are giving some liquidity to for the downside.

Could be now.  Burned off a lot of ask and the bid keeps rising.  I think it could handle a 100000 XMR dump and snap back to 200ksat in 8 hours right now.  Wouldn't that be nice;). Almost like BTC 2012 all over again.  Ask at 200 down to 35 BTC and falling.  I see them as last chance coins.

If one wants to acquire 100 btc worth of Moneros, it is pretty cheap now as the slippage is not more than 5-6 %. That makes it very profitable to organize OTC deals with quantities and then marketbuying those coins.
1456  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: March 01, 2016, 03:12:57 PM
I am becoming increasingly bullish.

When do you think it will start a new leg upwards?
1457  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: March 01, 2016, 04:47:13 AM
Today is the day when the emission of Monero is sub 10 000 XMR/day for the first time.
1458  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DASH scam exposed at the Satoshi Roundtable retreat! on: February 29, 2016, 05:03:38 PM
My estimation is XMR will replace Darkcoin in mere 6 months. In the coming 3 mo Monero is about to offer 50% increase in value which makes the XMR's marketcap to 15 million. When the GUI ks ready, the profit potential is enourmous.
1459  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: February 29, 2016, 04:25:04 PM
If some entity/entities decide to invest 1 billion usd into XMR, and let's assume only 10 % of Moneros are possible to get at any money (most will be held in cold storages as nobody is selling in need of money but for the urgency to help the Moneroless society around). Then, 1 000 000 000 usd / 1 844 500 xmr = 542 usd/xmr.
I think 10 % availability rate is pretty realistic as there are some selling taking place when the price rises. At current prices only a fraction is traded, and even the same coin is probably traded several times within a day back and forth.

Reach out to libertarians Koch brothers then. An easier route is to lay off the pipe.

A pitch need to be written. After that bring it to the awareness of all Forbes500 guys/girls. I am sure at least 3-5 will be interested and there you go. There will be literally a chronic shortage of available Moneros.
