Can someone explain why this does not work!

Bojcha, how did you do the mining, with which miners, windows/linux?

For VPS mining, added a link at the very top of OP.

Did as stated, connected to nonce-pool. Af first I got a timeout, now only getting Boooo's

With my VPS getting only Booo's at suprnova, too.

Correct?

cd
git clone https://github.com/noncepool/m7m-cpuminer-v2
cd m7magi-cpuminer
./autogen.sh
CFLAGS="-O3" ./configure
make

Yes, this is right. My linux mining using the m7m-cpuminer-v2 code in nonce-pool is ok, no difference from VPS mining. Let me confirm VPS mining.

Joe, how to update my VPS miner?

We will need to re-compile the miner by using code:
https://github.com/noncepool/m7m-cpuminer-v2

The guide (changed the git source link):
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=735170.msg8800103#msg8800103

Also check the pool url, port etc here:

I cant get my node connected after the upgrade, no connections.

its the node for the blockchain-explorer:

https://bchain.info/XMG/

addnode=xmg.suprnova.cc

should be working

And these two:

Code:
addnode=66.55.90.58
addnode=107.170.52.31

The 1st one is my website server.

I was late Undecided, but the algo switchover is done. 09:51 EST time here.

Thank you for confirming we are switching now.

Thanks.

My miner in nonce-pool. seems okay now.

when does the hardfork start ? I noted block 32750, but for the moment only the old algo work on supernova ?
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=735170.msg9310611#msg9310611

1. M7M-v2 (hardfork on 10/26/2014 9:30:00 AM EST)
2. Block rewarding system (hard fork at block 32,750)
3. A new difficulty adjustment method - Magi quantum wave (MQW) (hard fork at block 33,500)

Thanks all for compilation, updated the OP.

Anyone interested to a contest? I got suggestions about contest, basically for websites, something like http://www.minedogecoin.com is one of the options, to not limited to that. We can advocate the CPU mining aspect of XMG. The site will be good with easy information for one to start the mining right away. I hardly have enough time to be on this, if someone is willing to take this task (make post, answer questions etc), please let me know.

Hi,

Can we please get the OP with links(Spexx, MarcusDe, etc) to the new miner's in preparation ?

Preparation is everything and this way we stop all the links in the thread and stop any FUD/bad links!!!

Many thanks

Lee

Have fixed all the links in the OP; I will stay online and IRC too for any questions, let me know anything else that needs fix if I missed.

I meant can you use the recompiled miners for the new one now. I imagine it will only work after the hard fork?
only work after the hard fork..

Thanks to MarcusDe. New miner here:

http://graymines.net/miners/magi/cpuminer_win64_magi_byMarcusDe-core2-1025.zip

p.s., working on the hardfork things now, will update the "next" stuffs.

Please prioritize the athlonfx/64 one and the avx miner as well as 32bit ones as that is what simplicity uses. Thanks!

Also will these work with the algo as-is? By that I mean is it safe to push to my repo

Will get these miners as soon as possible, the miner compiled based on the new source so it should work for the algo after hard fork. Let's see how it's going.

There is hardfork regarding the block reward happening tonight (EST time). Please update your wallet.
tonight ? In the OP it is said 9:00 am EST, did it change ?
DJM, check the update, link at the very top of the OP, change to new block reward (at block 32,750) happens before algo switchover.

Here is the first release of Simplicity-XMG

Feel free to provide feedback and let me know of any bugs. Here is the Repo https://github.com/aceoyame/Simplicity-xmg

Use the download zip option to download simplicity. Instructions for what to do are in the repo as well

Edit: Just wanted to say it isn't as feature packed as Simplicity-MYR since XMG does not have P2Pool or electrum yet but I am working towards getting us those.

This is a stopgap for now. It also uses existing miners and will be updated with new ones after the hard fork. I have been in contact with the appropriate people for that
Thanks for the work, aceoyame, just had a try, works great.
1479  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [XMG] Magi | 1st PoS-II | 1st PoM | Fair Distr | Tor | M7M CPU only on: October 24, 2014, 03:45:29 PM
Still not sure why my pool login is needed. Stratum only requires Pool URL, Pool worker name and worker password.

Also, the generic miner if I recall only utilizes SSE2 and no further instruction sets. I strongly suggest removing the requirement for Pool login name and compiling multiple versions of your miner and then include logic to detect the instruction sets the cpu supports. I can assist with that. Also you can move the files into a subfolder. As it stands it is just a giant mess and hard to make work.

I can assist with rewriting it to be simpler\making it more user friendly. I even have a way to have you have your multiple instances vs multiple threads run silent as well as including a script to kill the silent tasks in the background.

As for why multiple instances runs faster than multiple threads that tells me the thread management in minerd is pretty shitty and that windows' built in thread scheduling is more efficient.

aceoyame, here is the new miner. Hope you can give the compilation a try; multiple thread thing might be about windows, as it works well on linux. I am keen to see different versions of compilations and comparisons among them.
