The Ant dip is more looking like a Dip  Tongue

Ugh …

It hurts me to see the dude bearish.
1482  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 21, 2021, 02:27:20 AM

Why would the president of a country lie about buying only $6.x million USD worth of Bitcoin?

That said the transaction probably happened off chain with some exchange somewhere OTC.

Very interesting to see the current poll results...

Is the Bitcoin protocol's privacy "good enough"?
Yes   - 17 (35.4%)
No   - 14 (29.2%)
Not yet, but it will be after the taproot upgrade   - 17 (35.4%)
Total Voters: 48

To me, if we ignore the Taproot upgrade for a moment and  combine 2 and 3 the results would be something like this

Is the Bitcoin protocol's privacy "good enough"?
Yes   - 17 (35.4%)
No   - 31 (64.6%)    <------- 65% says No
Total Voters: 48

What does it mean? Aren't we satisfied with Bitcoin's protocol privacy?

Don't confuse privacy with security. As far as security is concerned, I think it's rock-solid, as has been shown by more than a decade of failed attacks and attempts to break it. No issues there.

As far as privacy is concerned, things are not so good -- yet. There are ways to protect it, but it's not automatic, one has to be aware of the various privacy issues and do things in certain ways in order to protect it. I think this is what's reflected in the poll result.

It is the reason that Bitcoin "maximalists" like me still believe Monero has a role to play presently.  If i wasn't so lazy I would dig up the post I made probably in 2015 where I talked about bitcoin NEVER being able to do what Monero does, and Monero NEVER being able to do what Bitcoin does, and this making them a sort of sibling pair.

There are POWERFUL arguments for a transparent blockchain.  Nothing will ever bear Bitcoin at that.

There are also powerful arguments for an obfuscated blockchain to emerge.  And though much less clearly, Monero is the winner there. (I saw less clearly because NOTHING is established like Bitcoin is, and something *could* conceivably knock Monero off it's seat as the privacy king, though I think it's unlikely for a set of reason that has a LOT overlap with Bitcoin).  This has great implications and costs and you do not get the same level of security as you do with king daddy.

Anyway, interesting poll.  And I for one, look forward to the privacy improvements coming to Bitcoin.

If I buy the dip right now it'll keep dropping. #facts
If I don't we will correct in a few hours. #alsofacts
I'll let y'all decide for me.

Buy the dip.  We are not worried about it.
1485  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 21, 2021, 01:57:38 AM

I gotta say... I like the balls on this guy.  He actually seems to be a real bitcoinner.

Post on https://lightningnetwork.plus/ and I'm in.
Creating a private one now!
EDIT: Done! Let me know if you are in and i'll PM you the link and password

Alright. I loaded up  some coin onto my Umbrel, created an account on that thing, and ready to play with you fruits.

Someone hit me up with what I need to do to join you guys. Pretty sure the TOR stuff will preserve my OpSec well enough.

Woo hoo!

When you get around to setting your node color on your Umbrel, may I suggest something along these lines?

If you are a sucker for symmetry like me, then maybe CC5599?
1487  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 19, 2021, 07:03:53 PM
Sorry for being on topic, I don’t feel like discussing covid & vaccines.

@TechDev_52
BTC will *really* shock you with its consistency.

Thanks for trying to save us.

Nice fractal, this one...  But this time we have the gas being poured on the fire by the central banks.  I wonder what that might mean?
1488  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 19, 2021, 05:05:00 PM

I used the standard Umbrel setup with full standard hardware (raspberry Pi), etc. Fully synched. I was able to send some BTC to my wallet.

I've tried the lncli -unlock and it shows the same thing.

Checking the logs I see:
2021-09-19 16:21:47.661 [ERR] LTND: unable to start server: 512 Missing 'Port' argument

Hmm.  That's a somewhat odd one, I think...  I use raspiblitz, but I think Umbrel is fairly well done.

I'll poke around a little and see if I can offer anything...

Post on https://lightningnetwork.plus/ and I'm in.

I will be glad to join too.  But can we make the pentagon private on there?  I mean I suppose it would OK if strangers filled up the spots, but I assume that's not the point really?

AH!  I see we can.. OK I am in.. send me the stuffs!

it is private and pin protected.. and not listed.... i'll send you a message now...

We just need two more participants to complete the small WO hub.
Bob? You in?

I am first creating a fully non opSec node so I'm in.

Though I'm having a problem with my Lightning node not allowing me to unlock the state. I suspect that I did a hard reset at one point in the process that may have corrupted a file somewhere.

Don't know if i can help but let me know if you have questions.  Did you use one of the ready made node-in-a-box distros or did you bite the bullet and roll your own?  I am most familiar with LND as it is what I have used...  But that command to unlock the node is "lncli -unlock" and you will need to use the password you set up for this.  The node distros should handle this for you, or prompt you at least.

Slow day, if someone feels like reading a lot of subtitles about the deliberate crashing of the world economy and why the financial system is about to collapse of its own weight.

I've got a bad feeling about this.  Then again anyone surprised deserves to be smacked. Wink
1492  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 19, 2021, 02:48:15 PM

Look, this is hilarious! Where are you from? Year 2019? I can think of only two possibilities you know so little about this virus and stuff:

1. you were in a coma for 2 years
2. you're a fucking time traveler

Out of curiosity: could you please provide like 2-3 news sources you're using? (don't ask why I need that those Bill Gates's nano-robots in my blood told me to do it as I'm currently close to a 5G tower and they can transmit)  Grin Hope you're wearing your tinfoil hat right?  Grin

Look at this imbecile with his strawmans and his literal belief of state media. Equating people not believing the propaganda concerning covid-19 and the imbecility you are sprouting above actually is part of the propaganda (discrediting discenters by equating them with idiots) so proves my point: you believe everything your masters tell you. You are a serf, a pleb, someone who is not does not fall for these elementary tricks.

Sources? Just look at the data (even the padded official ones show enough if you actually look) and analyze, it's not rocket science but I'm sure its above your pay check.

Again: why are you on this forum? It's for those that value freedom, for truth-seekers. Not retards like you who think they are smart for worshipping your overlords.

I'm done with you. There are better uses of my time than talking to a wall (this response is a courtesy to others, not you).

"why are you on this forum? It's for those that value freedom, for truth-seekers"

no its not

it is Bitcoin Forum > Economy > Economics > Speculation > Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion

not a fucking medical forum

You have a point, sir.  But until Chart Buddy came back, this thread has not really been on topic. Heh.

AND in my humble opinion what we are seeing unfold in the world geopolitically (including the virus, vaccines, etc) has great impact on Bitcoin.

That said the asshole quotient we are seeing is not necessary.  I welcome GOOD arguments for OR against just about anything.  But the name calling, and fallacies cause my eyes to cross.

Bob? You in?

Not worth a potential OpSec fuckup.

Yeah...  I run a clearnet node.  And I joined it.  But I realize I had effed up my opsec in this regard too badly long ago...  Ah well.

Anyway... yall can follow along if you like Wink

AND continue arguing himself by arguing there'll be depopulation while the death rate at no point even got close to the birth rate during the entire "pandemic"  Cheesy

LOL Please tell me you made that.  Whoever did got the eyes right... that's hilarious.

> but I'm sure its above your pay check.

can we cut the vaccine crap, we all got it, now let us all die in peace please.  On the good side, there will be plenty of good real estate for cheap when the whole world dies.  On the bad side, since anti-vax people are also sometimes racists, most people left on earth will be non-western people, so Africa basically

Classic.

In one breath asking to stop arguing about the vaccine, AND implies people on one side of the argument are racists.

Pardon me if I don't take you very seriously at all. lol.

AND continue arguing himself by arguing there'll be depopulation while the death rate at no point even got close to the birth rate during the entire "pandemic"  Cheesy

Of all the deep and polarized divides which are being used by powerful forces to enslave the entire globe, the ONLY one that is beneficial at this moment are those who are waking up vs those who are still asleep.

For decades the same people running THIS show have been setting up the scaffolding for male vs female, rich vs poor, black vs white, north vs south, vax vs antivax, liberal vs conservative, on and on an on.  These divides are a smokescreen and a tranquilizer being used as the leash and harness are fitted and tightened.

As I said, there is one polarity I am actually hopeful will continue to emerge... Those who are waking up vs those who still sleep.

But sadly, I am not very optimistic about this.  I simply do not think there are enough of us who actually SEE what is happening to stop what will have been obvious in hindsight.  The further they get with tying the knot, the more difficult the counter measures to undo it.  And the larger the amount of bloodshed that will take.

Sadly I do think it will end up with bloodshed.

It is significant that all the times this has been tried in my lifetime it has not worked.  Creeping towards the "new world order", but not able to pull it off.  There have been many false starts.  But I have recently realized why, I think, it has a chance of working this time.

Until today too many people were still alive who saw what happens when the world is lulled into darkness, and those people would not allow it to happen again.  But that generation has mostly passed away, and the newest generations alive now are fools.  As we all are when we are young.

God, I wish i knew what to do to wake those of you still sleeping before it's too late.

And God help us.

I also came here for a bit of a humanitarian request. A trusted friend, whom I met on these very forums, asked me to post something. He knows a very poor filipino family, through his fiance, and they currently have an infant who will certainly die without an expensive surgery:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5360407

No pressure, of course, but if you'd like to contribute a little bit of your profits, the money will really be a big help to them.

Update: we're now up to about $4,095 of the $10,500 goal!

I never do this... but donated. Wink
1500  Other / Off-topic / Re: Request for Donations to Provide Funding for Biliary Atresia Surgery for Infant on: September 19, 2021, 01:21:58 PM
May God preserve this little life and guide the hands of the surgeons.

(confirmed before I could post. Wink )
