1501  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: How much do I need to start mining? on: April 12, 2023, 02:04:10 PM
Can I start mining with $300 and grow from there?
Judging from your post history, it looks like you failed to consistently make profits when you trade and are looking to DCA. I think that is a good idea, as long as you have the patience to hold and keep buying even if the market is full of bear sentiment. If you don't like the waiting part and want to grow your capital quickly, even if you find cheap electricity I don't think you'll be able to stick to your mining plan. Whether you mine or not, you'll need to wait for some time before it bears fruit.

If $300 is your only budget, I'd suggest you stick with your DCA plan. Especially since you mentioned you have some responsibilities to your family and can't allocate too much money to high-risk investments. CMIIW.
1502  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Trust wallet update on: April 12, 2023, 01:04:19 PM
Trust Wallet does not show some of the dusting tokens that I screenshot above and only some official tokens from airdrops that I have participated in, but the tokens have been abandoned. It's just a matter of deactivating them.
Yes. I think both of us refer to the same method of filtering tokens that can work on Trust Wallet, so that's that. Still, you can't do the same thing if they attack Bitcoin and similar networks, since you need coin control to manage the UTXO if you care about deanonymization issues. CMIIW.

But about attacking Bitcoin addresses, is there token dusting for Bitcoin addresses or networks?
I have never heard of it or know about it, because token dusting is more attacking on networks such as ERC20, BSC, Polygon, etc.
If there are too many attacks, it is not good to use it as storage for a lot of assets, I separate the main wallet with a wallet that is specifically for airdrops and some other interactions.
Yes, it happens quite often, far before airdrops and stuff like that become popular. I think you can search more about it on this forum, I've seen several threads discuss it in the past. It is understandable that they attack ERC and its derivatives nowadays since they can actually exploit and benefits from careless users due to the weakness in smart contracts.
1503  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Validate a Blockchain Transaction Email Address on: April 12, 2023, 12:29:13 PM
I'm starting to believe you're no longer seeking scam confirmation, but rather trying to look for anyone who can take care of your case without spending any money at all. Dozens of people tell you and you already confirmed it yourself that it is a scam, yet you keep reposting this and looking for attention.

Just forget it and move on, don't beg some white hat hacker would take your case if what you have are just an e-mail and a fake tx-id. Learn the lesson and stop creating new threads about it. Your previous thread will stay and anyone can read it, so there is no need for multiple topics if you want to spread awareness (which I doubt is the case here). Losing money definitely sucks, but this is not the way to respond to it.
1504  Economy / Economics / Re: Swiss Government-Owned Bank PostFinance to Offer Customers bitcoin and ether on: April 12, 2023, 11:30:07 AM
We also know how banks could get into financial trouble and some just have to close down there by putting the crypto funds in the bank in danger just like centralized exchanges. Should also the government decide tomorrow to have a change of heart and probably hit cryptocurrency with a ban they could just easily confiscate the crypto assets and also endanger the investors privacy. Banks can only offer crypto services but storing ones coins there isn’t advisable.
I think banks would definitely stop offering crypto-related services if the government ban them. It would be stupid and such a scummy move if they just decide to confiscate crypto from the banks if they never stated that crypto is illegal. As for how some banks got into trouble recently, crypto is not really the reason as far as I know, just poor decision-making from the management in general. At the end of the day though, while I won't be surprised if they change their tune again, I do think they won't claim deposited crypto unless they want protests to happen frequently.

Michal Saylor told an anecdote about how a subsidiary of Bank of America went from telling him that not only could he not buy bitcoin there, but that they could not even talk about it, to offering bitcoin trading and custody services. As much as it departs from Satoshi's initial idea, I prefer the latter.
I also think it is inevitable that Bitcoin will be treated as assets like gold and silver. Regardless of how satoshi envisioned the future to be, people will always have different ideas. At the end of the day, as long as people are aware of the risk, I believe most of them will adjust their plans accordingly. Some, if not all will stop being reliant on a third party if they want full control over their wealth sooner or later imo. If they're not convinced then hopefully they don't get screwed if the banks decide to go bankrupt and lost their money.
1505  Economy / Economics / Re: Does People Really Care About Decentralization? on: April 12, 2023, 10:22:41 AM
I always feel that those who care are definitely in the minority. Most of those who read news about privacy & security issues, those who happen to be a victim of one of those issues, and so on. Those proportions might change if awareness about privacy is increasing, plus more decentralized alternatives become available (that are not that difficult and require many setups to use). I do agree that it won't come that soon, the market is still very new, and demand in general is not that high compared to centralized alternatives.

However, I also think it is not that far off since people are being exposed to many centralized system failures recently, such as a bank run, a defunct exchange, and so on. At the end of the day, most people still value flexibility and ease of use, so until there is a very good decentralized product that fits that bill, I expect the number of people who use decentralized services to increase. Unless they are mainly dealing with fiat, which I doubt can be streamlined unless you touch KYC and AML. CMIIW.

But the point is we need a balance between centralization and Decentralization, not all gonna work or at least gonna run well with the Centralization system and Vice Versa. We need both centralization and decentralization in some way.
What is an example of that? Exchanges will be the ones who need a third party to make sure they don't scam their users. Most of them have no incentive to go decentralized if they can just pay a fee every now and then to make sure they can continue their services and rake in millions of profits.
1506  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Another mixer with chips? on: April 11, 2023, 02:26:39 PM
If you use it more than once, it is possible you receive your own coins again.
Are you referring to Chipmixer, or mixers in general? If you're referring to Chipmixer mixing method, I believe you can just check the history of each chip to see whether your past transactions/addresses are linked or not. This should apply to any mixer that follows a similar mixing method, CMIIW. As for others, some of them develop a code that you need to save to make sure your coins don't get mixed with your past transactions. Time will tell how effective it is, but these prevention exist for now. You can probably use both mixer and coinjoin to add another layer of obfuscation, although I can't tell how effective it would be.
1507  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Wire transfer to BTC on: April 11, 2023, 01:45:45 PM
If I remember correctly, Australian can use Coinspot to trade fiat and crypto. I'm referring to this one[1], but as always you'll need KYC to do that. Keep in mind that I never use them since I'm not an Aussie. Still, I've heard good reviews from some Australian guys on the Telegram group for one of the crypto projects that I followed. Probably not the most reliable place to get reviews so please do your own research[2]. You can also share some platforms you have already tried so we don't suggest the same thing repeatedly. Do try P2P if you don't want to rely on a third party at all.

1508  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SushiSwap Contract in Danger - Revoke Fast on: April 11, 2023, 11:17:10 AM
I read News recently that total 1k Ethereum was affected in this exploit. 300 Ethereum has been refunded by Security team while 700 is still to be refunded. i surprised to see that Sushi Token is not affected so much. i remembered when Axie was hacked then Its token was down badly but here the situation was totally different. its down 5% and very quickly its recovered back to original price.
Based on what I've read so far, the exploit is done on a contract that is not commonly used, and Sushi manages to compensate for the loss rather quickly. I guess the relatively low amount of loss also contributed to that. So, it is not surprising that the price was not affected that much. It is also understandable to assume there are some whales or traders who try to keep the price as high as possible though, anything is possible.

I don't think they will survive if exploits are happening so often though, they better improve the security or they will lose more than just 1k ETH in the future.
1509  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Warning] Don't Connect Your Wallet With This Scam ZkSync Airdrop Website on: April 11, 2023, 10:32:10 AM
some youtubers even don't know the step need to be eligible for these airdrop. Zksync related videos in Youtube are most viewed in last month and twitter big account are also tweeting about Zksync.
I believe airdrop has always been popular, but it is true that the recent Arbitrum airdrop makes people get encouraged to try many new projects hoping they will get the airdrop. It is also understandable that those Youtubers or even Twitter influencers don't know the exact steps since no projects explicitly stated that they will airdrop some tokens to their users. It is a very good marketing strategy, to be honest, stay mysterious, and never explicitly deny any token airdrop so people will try their testnet, etc voluntarily. On top of that, they can simply post a pinned tweet saying there is no ongoing airdrop to prevent scammers without any further action to save time.

The Site mentioned by OP is more dangerous and one can loss big here. I always use my secondary wallet with very low balance for connecting purpose and my fund is saved yet.
Judging from the recent airdrops, users need to spend some money to test the network, so they can't simply use an empty wallet and connect it to some platforms. I believe this is why the scam is also getting prevalent nowadays since people need to use actual tokens to make sure they are eligible when the airdrop happens. Anyway, if anyone is active on social media, I suggest staying away from dead subs/unmoderated forums since I've seen a lot of them popping up there nowadays.
1510  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to use if…then… for scripting in trading coin? on: April 11, 2023, 10:15:51 AM
I thought you were asking how to set up a custom trailing stop with a bot in the beginning, turns out you're just asking for advice when the market is unpredictable. Since others have more or less answered your question, I suggest you try or build your own bot if your exchange doesn't support trailing stop loss or something similar in order to prepare for stuff like that. Or you can simply change your trading platform, although it might be difficult since most of them require KYC nowadays.

IIRC, Zenbot is one free one that might be able to offer trailing stop even though the setup is a bit of a pain, at least according to some reviews that I've read. Since it is open source, some techniques are probably out of date, so you need to know a bit of coding if you want to customize it.
1511  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin cover total liquidity on: April 10, 2023, 12:59:16 PM
also the Bitcoin ecosystem is not large enough to cover liquidity properly Since mining is not promisingly efficient how will enough Bitcoin get into circulation? Such that everyone has enough Bitcoins to cover their net worth
If people start using Bitcoin to show their wealth, I personally expect the price of Bitcoin relative to other currencies to become stable, or even increase depending on how inflation goes. But regardless of that, if people want to use Bitcoin to trade, there will be trades happening around the world, and I'm pretty sure sellers won't sell their BTC if the price is terrible (in most cases). There won't be any liquidity issues since people can simply buy again if they need to unless I misunderstood some of your points.

Others have mentioned it already, but there is no way people can own Bitcoin without spending/investing in something, just like how people can't own gold if they don't buy or mine them on their own. Do you expect everyone to own gold without any cost? I bet you don't think so. The same thing applies to Bitcoin, or any asset in general. Their limited nature is what makes them valuable, to begin with. CMIIW.
1512  Local / Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian) / Re: [List] Dompet Bitcoin - Wallet Sofware on: April 10, 2023, 12:35:14 PM
1513  Local / Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian) / Re: [Info] Sosial Media dan Review Campaign Pembayaran Bitcoin [Terupdate] on: April 10, 2023, 10:53:24 AM

1514  Local / Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian) / Re: [Tutorial] BlueWallet - Bitcoin Wallet on: April 10, 2023, 10:35:48 AM
1515  Local / Mining (Bahasa Indonesia) / Re: Beli vga bekas untuk mining on: April 10, 2023, 10:27:59 AM
1516  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What if CEX do not have BTCs? What is being traded then? on: April 08, 2023, 01:10:57 PM
I don't think exchanges can fake that. They know anyone would want to withdraw the BTC so everything that is traded in the exchange is available for withdrawal. They'd be labeled scam if they are not allowing withdrawals.
Judging from how many exchanges went insolvent, I think it is fair to say that at the very least they need to provide proof of their sustainability. If they do that, users can see whether they have the ability to sustain their business if all users withdraw their BTC or coins at the same time. Even if they do that though, they can still lie or deliberately be misleading to avoid further questioning. I mean, even the latest FTX case can be solid proof that 'reputable' exchanges need more than just name and marketing to survive the market. You should not underestimate how scammy exchanges can be regardless if they are popular or not.

If there is less BTC volume then there are just a few people in the exchange buying and selling. Most probably the price of BTC in this particular exchange will be much higher or lower compare to the market price.
AFAIK, trading volume should not be a metric for reserves anyway. Exchanges can fake them anytime, or at least manipulate them to some extent to hide their insider trading or something similar.
1517  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: is it necessary to mix Bitcoin that you bought from an exchange? on: April 08, 2023, 12:50:02 PM
If you bought the coins from a centralized exchange, it's really stupid if you mix your coins because the exchanges already know who are you and they will restrict your account until you answered several questions about the coins you have mixed.
Is there any documented case of this? I've never heard of exchange freezing accounts because someone uses mixers to send money from the wallet they own. If you use a mixer or tainted coins to deposit, then this one is common. As far as I know, most exchanges are only concerned about incoming deposits since they need to practice KYC/AML or whatever regulations they need to obey (or use). Even if their users are funding hackers, they are free from legal obligations as long as they don't accept transactions related to those services.
1518  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Question about Freezing of account on: April 08, 2023, 11:57:05 AM
Can we report this exchange
Its bitrue but ends in [.cm] not [.com]
Are you sure this is not a scam exchange? I'm not familiar with Bitrue, but as far as I know, they never mentioned having other domains other than the com you mentioned. Even if it is true, I don't think any tier-3 or 2 exchange such as Hotbit asks you for a 20% deposit for verification. At best they would just close your account without saying anything else other than they were allowed to do so because the user is breaking their TOS. Still shady as hell, but not as scammy as this one IMO. Either your friend registered into a scam exchange that will serve its users for a while before they scam them, a phishing website, or a very shady exchange that should never be used regardless if she does copy trade or not.
1519  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance Banned in Australia on: April 08, 2023, 11:44:59 AM
Hmm, so they were trying to keep their image clean, more or less? Looks like this is the norm for Binance operations for overseas users. AFAIK, they also have no license to operate in Indonesia but still accept registration from Indonesian users. Their domain was banned, though ineffective since a DNS encryption or VPN can still bypass it.

That said, they tried to enter the market by investing/acquiring (not sure which term is the right one) one of the popular exchanges here. Most of the top executives seem to be related to Binance. So far it seems to work in their favor. It is interesting to see if their affiliated exchange here will survive if Binance gets into troubles like FTX. Hopefully, the money doesn't go overseas.
1520  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Do you think security is a prime feature to consider in payment getaways? on: April 08, 2023, 11:00:34 AM
Definitely, everyone will consider security as priority  while choosing crypto payment gateways. I have been using coinremitter for almost 1 year. This gateway has best security feature.
I don't think you can be a source of third-party feedback[1] if you're running and developing the platform yourself. It is like seeing an FTX employee saying FTX is the best exchange that is impossible to hack. No one would believe you regardless of how you convince them. You can try to run a review campaign if you want to market your product here. I'm sure you know one or two things about marketing on this forum from how old your account is.

Also, what you listed above are just protection measures that are more or less common on other platforms with different names. It is definitely not an exclusive feature that you can sell and sway potential business from using your gateway IMO. But yeah, you should also consider security measures available to protect the sellers/business too, as others have mentioned many times.
