1501  Economy / Economics / Re: US Advisory on Payment App Risks and Bitcoin’s Position as a Secure Alternative on: June 11, 2023, 06:26:08 PM
That's right and another reason why we shouldn't keep big amounts there is, what we've seen from some bank customers in China and I think in Lebanon too when they've got funds deposited on their bank accounts yet the bank won't allow them to withdraw due to government intervention and command.
What is the reason for that? While it is possible that a government freeze any account for a made-up reason, I think the chance is quite small unless some economic uncertainty happens in that country. I've seen a few cases where banks failed to get the capital to get their operation going, and then they stop the withdrawal process but they still need to pay their users by selling their assets or getting a bailout.
IIRC, that's for economic purposes.
These was like last year's news.

Using Bitcoin to store your wealth is definitely an alternative if you don't mind the volatility.
I couldn't agree more. This is the best way to store wealth and no one can freeze your assets unless you allowed it to stay on exchanges but as usual, it's best to keep it to ourselves with desktop wallets, hardware wallets or any cold storage.
1502  Economy / Economics / Re: US Advisory on Payment App Risks and Bitcoin’s Position as a Secure Alternative on: June 10, 2023, 11:02:19 PM
It's true that we shouldn't leave big funds on these payment apps no matter how long they've been here and how trustworthy they are. People are learning everyday and come to understood that these custodial services have the control over our funds and that's why you don't keep huge amounts there.

I know asset diversification is a smart option - but banks are becoming less and less trusted as safe depositories for much of our money over the long term. You know that the bank gets very suspicious when we want to withdraw all the funds from the account - so they're bound to ask us a few questions where we want to spend it.

That is if you have a lot of money in the bank. Tens of thousands of dollars at least. Amounts like $5K you can have in the bank and you won't have any problems withdrawing it and much more depending on the country.
That's right and another reason why we shouldn't keep big amounts there is, what we've seen from some bank customers in China and I think in Lebanon too when they've got funds deposited on their bank accounts yet the bank won't allow them to withdraw due to government intervention and command.
1503  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Goal Achievement on: June 10, 2023, 09:15:00 PM
Another thing I notice that contributes to achieving our goals easily here is by making a good sentence with punctuation marks where necessary and correct spellings because good sentence will make a reader to understand our point of view properly
Actually, this should be done mostly in every platform where you are in. I see that many people starts to shortcut sentences and even words, thanks to what people see in social media. Honestly, the forum is much greater in terms of that and people in here write better related to the topics that have been made. It's sad to see that writing great isn't really a thing in the social media but that's it. Wherever you are going and writing, making sentences and correct punctuations are practiced here. But the thought of what has been said is the most important thing to make it understand the point of what you're saying. Anyway, enjoy your stay here promocodeudo.
1504  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: How do I secure my wallet on: June 10, 2023, 01:05:20 PM
Your friends are right that you shouldn't keep your bitcoin on any exchange if you've got no plans of trading it there. Usually newbies keep their bitcoins there on exchanges because of the term that they've just read and heard about the funds being "SAFU". You don't believe into such that it will make your funds safe there but just remember that if you don't hold the keys, you don't hold those bitcoins that you deposit there. Just as suggested, hardware wallets are the most recommended but if you've got no budget yet for it, choose Electrum and the other recommended desktop wallet is Wasabi. And for more other options: Choose your Bitcoin wallet
1505  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 10, 2023, 10:50:45 AM
Yup, a history made and also Jokic is making history after history. What a such good and tough guy, this is like the new meta in the NBA, the drafting for the next season is gonna be interesting and I guess many will take potential centers.

The number one draft pick acquired by the Spurs is a center, Victor Wembanyama. While he may not be as good as Jokic at the moment, this guy has tremendous potential. With some added muscle and continued development, he has the potential to become highly competitive. All he needs to do is stay healthy, similar to Jokic, so that one day they can face each other with equal skills, probably better.
They haven't acquired him yet but everyone is sure that they will do. The draft hasn't happened yet so there's no one that has been drafted and acquired. But those are really a possibility that will happen soon once we get there. Victor is like a young KD as they say and he's the number prospect for this year. I am sure that whoever acquires him will work on his physique not unless that's already enough for them.
Based on the history, only a few number 1 pick were even able to get their own rings but with individual success, many of them does.
1506  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain Exchange holding my funds (1.25 BTC) hostage for 45 days already on: June 10, 2023, 08:01:35 AM
I can't believe when they've got the tagline of "Be your own bank" and then asking these questions from someone that has deposited a lot on them. Well, maybe they're just complying to what has been placed on them upon building this exchange as regulators what have told them to follow.
@OP as said by the majority in here, no one can help you out with this pending transaction of yours. So clear all of those what they're asking and wait until they verify all of those requirements and answers you've provided them. I know it's a pain in the ass but that's how this will go, until you're able to withdraw your money from them, never use them again and anything that's related to their service including their own web wallet.
1507  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 10, 2023, 05:17:00 AM
I think many doesn't see how Gordon has always been effective to the Nuggets whenever he's in. He's such an underrated guy and I've been noticing that and his athleticism makes him great inside and the same goes for KCP.

Max Struss and Gabe Vincent, - another bad performance.
When they're not effective and had a worse performance, this is what's gonna get them.

I think the Nuggets are going to take the championship in their next game. Going to be huge for the franchise as this is going to be their first time and Jokic being the finals MVP.
Yup, a history made and also Jokic is making history after history. What a such good and tough guy, this is like the new meta in the NBA, the drafting for the next season is gonna be interesting and I guess many will take potential centers.
1508  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Some possible ways to avoid phishing attacks and scams on: June 09, 2023, 09:00:56 PM
Anytime.

I will try my possible best to make sure I secured my device because I know it's very hard on me to get another device and if this could be the case I will give myself a target to get a new smartphone then the old device would be mainly for 2fa only.
Now that you're aware of it, you can do it and you have to set your goal in order for you to have another smartphone. If you can't avail it for now, you have to be careful with your device and make it sure that no one will steal it from you if you're doing most of your transactions there.
Even it's not a new one but if it's a secondhand, also check it out and much better to do some reformatting on it  but as always advice, to have no headaches with these, brand new is the better choice.
1509  Economy / Exchanges / Re: blockchain.com's linked telegram is now someone else... on: June 09, 2023, 07:24:45 PM
This is a detail that not everyone will see. That school is a legit one and these scammers are using it so it's like two names, blockchain.com and that school that they're using. Although there's nearly 100 members in total for that group, that's still not a good sign as people who have experiencing problems with blockchain.com wallet are also going there asking for solutions that they can give. And that's where the problem is when these scammers will take advantage of these victims that just want some help for their wallet concerns, even if this wallet isn't recommended by most. Hopefully that it will be figured out and that article will change the link of their official telegram channel.
1510  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can bitcoin die? on: June 09, 2023, 06:09:09 PM
If all countries make regulations that bitcoin mining is prohibited, is it true that bitcoin will die?
While technically speaking if no miner is there then the network will eventually stopped but it won't die if it gets back again. But you have to bear the reality that no gives a thing from these regulators if it's about bitcoin mining. You'll never know who are those miners from country to country that has set their basements, quarters and rooms into a mining facility without even telling it to the closest people of theirs.

thanks everyone. Meaning it is true that bitcoin would die if there were no miners, even though that would be impossible
Right. But just like the old times, when there will be a drop of hash rate, you'll get to see that increase quickly because of how Bitcoin has already been set and a few words: it's here to stay.
1511  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SATOSHI IS BACK with satoshi@vistomail.com BUT ITS SCAM on: June 09, 2023, 04:31:13 PM
Everyone will claim that they're satoshi and to add fuel to the flame, they'll make things interesting and this is where they'll capture those people that are gullible and easy to scam. And these everyone that I am saying, they're the bad people, the outright scammers. While it's not yet gone, the craze about BRC20 tokens we are seeing the obvious from there. This is usually what happens when a project they're working in needs some attention to gain, they'll use every name that they can, every influence that they've got even it's fake.

1513  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is there anyone else who shares the same sentiments? on: June 08, 2023, 10:16:29 PM
The reason why the bitcoin market is not reacting so much to the SEC and Binance issue as much as we may have expected is because it appears to be more of a social attack rather than a direct attack on bitcoin network protocol, mining operations or blockchain technology. The market would have reacted differently if it was an attack on the network. Am I correct? I don't know much about the technical aspect of Bitcoin, but this is the best possible explanation I can think of for what is happening. Is there anyone else who shares the same sentiments?
While SEC is attacking a company and not network, let's just still take the thought that you have through the BRC20 tokens. We've seen how it has affected Bitcoin network for the past weeks and how it made the transaction fees quite high and clogged the network as per mempool.
Although there is a huge difference for both of them but news do influence the market itself and we've seen a motion for the price. Whilst we saw how BRC20 craze made the network clogged, the price wasn't moved by inch of it but only the fees.
1514  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What can we do, should do, or not do as Bitcoin supporters at this time? on: June 08, 2023, 08:36:52 PM
Accumulate then. There is no way that most of us are going to leave these exchanges, the comfort that it has given to many will not stop them from depositing and keeping their funds there no matter what we tell them and remind them of what they must do.
Those that have been keeping their funds on Binance or any exchange are probably aware of the consequences if ever something wrong happens. While the market has moved back a little bit, it is showing just how strong it is even with these SEC's way of dealing these exchanges through cases they file that makes headlines.

1515  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Some possible ways to avoid phishing attacks and scams on: June 08, 2023, 02:28:55 PM
Before downloading a wallet, make sure that it's from the official website. Don't use google search on it because you'll be led to the phishing websites that uses SEO and as well as advertisement through Google ads.

Sorry to ask you this sir/ma
What about those who do not have a second device to store their 2FA, does it mean they can't use same device install their 2fa?
That defeats the purpose of having 2FA if it's stored on the same device because if someone steals your laptop or any device where you're accessing your wallet then the 2FA app is also there, then it will be easily accessed by the intruder or robber.

Please I am only asking to know because I am planning of getting it installed in my phone but reading this gets me paused because I do only have a single device which is my smartphone and I don't have any money to further get another device.
I know that it's kind of tough on your situation but that's how you deal with it. If you have no other device and you have the 2FA on your only one phone where you're accessing everything, you truly have to take care of it. You'll only get hacked if someone steals it from you.
1516  Economy / Exchanges / Re: No impact of SEC freezing USA Binance assets on: June 08, 2023, 12:05:02 PM
Binance and Binance.us are two different entities and the one that SEC is dealing with now is the Binance.us.

However, the immediate effect of this news was not negative. Bitcoin prices and other coins also moved up even after this news. It shows the trust people have on bitcoin. Those who were investing casually are already out of the scene. The current holders have got strong hands and it means that prices for good crypto coins will only move up from here.
You expect to see this happen whenever a known exchange gets sued by SEC or anything that's related to hacking or any other negative news. The market's reaction will have it plummet for a while but get to see on what's the market status now. It's not that a lot that we've seen for the market to go down and the impact of it can be said not that much.
1517  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Cz or the Sec who would you support? on: June 08, 2023, 10:08:36 AM
None.
CZ, Binance and other exchanges should clean themselves from the accusations that has been done through lawsuits and cases that's filed on them. If there will be no cases like that then that means that SEC wouldn't have time for them to file for anything because they have seen nothing. Now, it makes sense that even if they're clean, these things won't be stopped and they'll keep on finding fault against these exchanges and that's how they retaliate and that's to clean the mess that's being pushed and seen on them. That's one way or another, they just follow the regulations and if they think that SEC is doing falsely cases on them then they should throw it back on them, simple as that.

that is true, if they want to keep the business, then, comply with the regulations set to this type of business. also, they won't face any problem with them if they truly run it by the books. it will also keep their customers safe and secure. as long as they comply with the regulations, they are also securing their clients. there's no smoke without fire. so if the SEC is finding some holes, it means, there's really some aspects that they are not taking care of. i hope binance or CZ will take care of their business as many crypto users are relying on them.
And from there, they'll know if SEC is just targeting them and keeps on poking with them through regulations but that could unlawful if that's the case. Until they comply with everything they're asking and everything has been complied, that's all they have to do. As we know that there's like a tough battle against these regulators mainly the SEC against the big exchanges and anything that's related to crypto. But that's it, they've been in the game for a long time and making millions to billions, they know how to do it and if this is just getting long and this is gonna repeat no matter what they do with a noise if there's no compliance.
1518  Economy / Speculation / Re: SEC Lawsuit Against Binance Is Likely To Hit Bitcoin Price on: June 08, 2023, 08:47:27 AM
Do you think SEC's lawsuit case will create more damage to the BTC price ?
It has made a damage and that's the bad news but we also have some good news and that's how BTC is standing firm with all of these damages. While it's coming from stable $27k and see it down to $25k but now it's staying at $26k lines.

Is it possible for all crypto exchange companies in the US to avoid SEC's trouble ?.
Yes and that's through compliance of what they're asking for. It seems that it's just the trouble where they're throwing to these exchanges related to securities offers and if they'll correctly offer that and ammend that mistake, they will avoid SEC's hot eye.
