1541  Other / Meta / Re: Merit giveaway for Jr Members and newbies on: February 24, 2018, 10:27:58 AM
I think I have given more than 10 merit points to applicants who deserved merit points. Thus, I will be locking this thread. Those, who could not get any merit points from me need to improve their writing skills. Also, there are various other members giving away merit points for quality posts which I have mentioned in this thread:

1542  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Transaction fee down to $0.11! SegWit works! on: February 23, 2018, 06:10:11 AM
Segwit usage is still low. It is more likely that transaction volume has dropped because the crash scared a lot of people away.

Yes that is the main reason. There are less transactions happening currently. This results in faster transfer and lower fees. The segwit change will be put to test when we again see higher levels like $20000.
1543  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin looks above $10K, may resistance await ? on: February 23, 2018, 06:07:15 AM
Bitcoin looks above $10K, may resistance await ?

Now it has already crossed that level and the next target is $15000 which should be achieved by march end. Bitcoin is showing about 10% growth every week and it is pretty decent. I ma investing more at current levels.
1544  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Israel Confirms It Will Tax Bitcoin as Property on: February 23, 2018, 06:06:02 AM
After several years of uncertainty, the Israel Tax Service published a document (the original in Hebrew) that defines the status of the crypto currency and the taxation regime applied to them.

I think all countries need to make their stance on bitcoins clear. For instance, Indian has not yet made bitcoins legal or illegal. Such a situation always leads to confusions among investors thus affecting investments.
1545  Other / Meta / Re: I just want to ask about merit on: February 23, 2018, 05:54:47 AM
Good day to all.
I just want to ask, Will I have a merit? How can I have a merit if no one wants to give it.

And can I have a sendable merit?
Every month does each account have merit?

Sorry I'm a newbie

1) Yes, you will have merits if you make quality posts here. If no one thinks that your posts deserve merits, you need to improve writing skills.

2) You will get 1 smerit for every merit you receive. Suppose, you made a quality post and got 8 merit points for it from different members. You will get 4 smerits in account for that.
1546  Other / Meta / Re: Some confusions regarding "Merit system" on: February 23, 2018, 05:52:34 AM
Hello there, I am just wondering what is that Hype about Merit system, and in what way it should somehow affect on the spammers?
My confusion comes from the fact that during last week I saw few posts with 3 world which were awarded by 10-20 merit each, is that I or this is kinda strange?
What do you say, is merit system works as you expected/it should or this is just plague?

You saw members abusing the merit system but did not mention about them being reported and getting negative trust. Please read the meta section carefully so that you can have full information. Quoting one side of story may misguide new members.
1547  Other / Meta / Re: Would you join this Merit Survey? on: February 23, 2018, 05:50:23 AM
You can add one more option to you the pool that happy and sad.Because I am feeling both happy and the sad on the implementation of the merit system.

I am happy becuase the merit system will restrict the signature spammers who are posting for the sake of rankup,so no more rank up with shit posts and non-sence idiotic posts.SO maybe here after we may have the real discussion around the sections.

I am sad because not all the good posts are not merited ,since the merits sources are very limited and the people who are only excanging in between their alts so the good quality posts are not merited yet,but I hope the system needs some more time to settle down and it will be good if there are more merit sources because the 57 members can not look for the good quality posts in the forum,so increasing the merits sources may help to find the good posts.

Every system will have its pros and cons. The admin has to analyze overall impact before implementing such changes. One more thing, In my opinion, this is a very harsh step taken and only few webmasters will have the guts to do things like this.
1548  Other / Meta / Re: People might sell they're merit points. on: February 23, 2018, 05:42:32 AM
There is no might in it. They will be sold.

I haven't looked or seen any but I would bet my last dollar its being sold via a third party website.

There is no way to stop it.

Those sellers will get out of merits very soon. The system is designed in a way that default merit points will be over in 2-3 months. Most of the merits will then come from merit sources and they will give to to promising members with quality posts.
1549  Other / Meta / Re: The reality is 99.9% members can never rank up with the new merit system. on: February 23, 2018, 05:40:31 AM
From what I've seen, meta is the only forum where people are willing to give out merit. No one in the altcoin forums is willing to use it. I've made numerous posts that have gotten "thank you" replies, but no one has clicked the button yet. Then I come in here and I see people giving it out left and right just for sharing an opinion or being well known.

If you have observed this, then simple post quality posts in meta. All sections need quality content here. Also, there are a lot of users asking questions about the merit system. So, you should learn the latest developments related to merit system and update other members.
1550  Other / Meta / Re: Merit giveaway for Jr Members and newbies on: February 23, 2018, 05:38:41 AM
Checked posts of all members who posted above and none qualify. Do not give up, keep trying. You will certainly improve if you have a positive attitude.
1551  Other / Meta / Re: Merit rewards for Signature Campaigns! on: February 23, 2018, 05:36:02 AM
Another idea would be to not only require the 25 posts per week, but also require that your 25 posts receive at least a certain number of merits. This should directly stop the shitposting.

I have always suggested this idea. There should be a requirement of getting certain number of posts for all ranks in  a year. This makes sure that they keep posting quality content here. Otherwise, a member may continue with shit posts after achieving desired level with few quality posts.
1552  Other / Meta / Re: merit hole: 30 accounts more than 500 merits on: February 23, 2018, 05:34:29 AM
Damn...all that merit for those posts.  I am struggling to get to 10 to rank up to member but at least I know I am doing it the right way.  I know not all of my posts are merit worthy but hopefully some of them continue to earn from time to time.  I hate seeing this system abused even though I might not like it.  Thanks for your hard work in identifying these transgressions.  I am sure after a while that they will be easier to spot and hopefully they can get addressed and the issue be remediated.

It is really funny to see members repeating the abuse even after so many cases being reported. Looks like they are not worried of consequences and have multiple accounts or so. It is time for harsh decisions like banning such accounts abusing merit repetitively.
1553  Other / Meta / Re: Little idea can improve to spread the merit points in a fair manner on: February 18, 2018, 12:30:44 PM
I suggest that the members who are  a source of merit, will create few topics in different sections (Each of them offers one topic every month) and they will ask in which on subjects in different fields (like, Bitcoin, Gambling, Trading, Mining...). So the other members (especially who needs the merit point) will respond by presenting their ideas and it is necessary to be with a high quality post, then the members (who are a source of merit) give merit points to those who deserve it.

In fact, if this idea will achieved, then that will help to improve the behavior's of users, So they become the majority of them want to ameliorate their posts and ideas in order to get merit point.

Have a nice day guys  Smiley

Merit sources already have to spend good amount of time to read quality posts in different sections and merit them. Please do not over burden them with your never ending " wishes and ideas".
1554  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Law breakers are faster than law makers on: February 18, 2018, 12:29:06 PM
Any law is made for the betterment of society after long discussions surveys researches and it takes long long time before implementing it.  On the other hand law breakers are very fast in breaking all the barriers find loopholes to break the system and suceed in getting gains from each and every circumstances.  There may be rareest of rare foolproof system or law which could not be broken by cheaters.  Ultimate truth is cheaters will gain whatever weapons you make for security and innocent people are always suffer losses like happening in merit system here.

So we should close all the prisons, courts, laws and let them roam free ?
1555  Other / Meta / Re: Joel_Jantsen's Merit Distribution Thread (Newbies Welcome) on: February 18, 2018, 12:28:07 PM
Thanks for this opportunity. One question for you- are past submissions in those threads also eligible ?
Where else would you submit them ? I don't encourage people opening new threads for  similar topics. If there is something different you wish to report which doesn't fall under above mentioned cases, you can post the link to the report in this thread.

I am talking about the submissions which members have already made there before you making this thread ?
1556  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ~BTC in Medical Industry on: February 18, 2018, 12:24:00 PM
Is it possible someday that Medical Hospitals accept BTC as a payment for Hospital bills and other fees??

Hospital bills these days are huge in my country. They can of course take payment in btc. It will be actually good as taking out so much cash from bank and then carrying it to the hospital is not safe.
1557  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin used by criminals ? on: February 18, 2018, 12:22:45 PM
I didnt heard that before but thats not a thing to be surprised because we even use internets that are also used by terrorists for their outlawful works.

I think OP was not referring to terrorists here. There can be different perceptions regarding criminal. I know some people buying illegal things like stealth paypal accounts as it is not allowed to open one in their country. Will you call it a crime ?
1558  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will ETH beat BTC someday? on: February 18, 2018, 12:20:12 PM
ETH is now approximately 10% of BTC value in $,so only way to ETH value go up is to BTC also go up.Maybe one day when BTC price reach 100 000 $, 1 ETH will be worth 10 000$.Of course this is only an assumption based on trends that are actual today, but ETH is relatively new coin in comparison to BTC.It may eventually become more valuable then today, but I think it will be difficult to take over BTC.

Depends on a number of factors but even it happens it will take a lot of time. I suggest you to focus on other alt coins if you are looking for returns in short time. Both bitcoins and ethereum are for long term investments.
1559  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I told my grandma to put all her lifesavings in Bitcoin because you guys said on: February 18, 2018, 12:18:45 PM
I hope your gran ma will be happy now that she doubled here money in such a less time. No other investment would have given here so much returns. One suggestion for you is that do not withdraw all the profits. If you believe that bitcoin is solving a real life problem, remain invested for long term.
1560  Other / Meta / Re: why focus on merits? on: February 18, 2018, 12:13:03 PM
For me merit is like my goal in life that is hard to reach.
If getting merit on an online forum is your life goal, you need to think about the priorities in your life.

But i think not only focusing in merit is very important in this forum. If people has much concern, love and embrace this technology sooner or later it produce much useful and progressive system. It helps much more number of people or maybe all people can join here. Having merit is not easy. People need to be more productive, constructive and have a positive mind to build a meaningful post.Merit is a thing that lead us to the right way in room of improvement, but the very important thing is doing our best shot to be much better here in the forum. To donate much meaningful and helpful information to others especially in newbies.

All this could e summarized into "Merit system is good for the forum". No need for fluff.
