Thank you and Happy Holidays.
1562  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: We have the right tools but many don't know how to use them on: December 25, 2021, 11:59:21 PM
Coinmarketcap and coingecko are enough to solve scam problems if you are a newbie, you don't have to ask anyone for link to official website, contract address or telegram channel coinmarketcap and coingecko got you covered, no more fake contract address and buying fake tokens on uniswap, we have the right tools but many don't know how to use them.
These tools didn't have a guarantee that you didn't scam.
Some projects are good to be true from the start but they will always end up exit scams or projects abandoned because the fact is they don't have real use and don't have the word of decentralized.

Maybe some of them are misleading they sent into the wrong contract address because they're lazy of having DYOR before initiating such action.
It always has an advantage for those people who invested that has knowledgeable enough rather than the lazy or naive investors.
1563  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do we need a bull market blow off top ? on: December 25, 2021, 11:49:28 PM
IMO, Bitcoin fluctuation is simply the norm and it will always remain like this.

There are two kinds of investors who had opposite reactions during this fluctuation, the holders that potentially sell when there's a bull market and the new investors that hoping that Bitcoin has a correction to begin to invest in Bitcoin and the cycle will repeat when new investors become a holder and wanted to make a profit and the holder become to reinvested and waiting for the opportunity that Bitcoin price will at in the correction stage.

Good thing that Bitcoin has gained more investors and the law of demand and supply will determine this stuff.  It will not surely have a price dip the same as before like in 2017.

1565  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Kucoin vs FTX...which one do you recommend? on: December 25, 2021, 11:12:32 PM
Both of them are good and reputable exchange platforms but they had pros and cons to each other.

If you reside in the US, you can't use FTX it's better to switch to Kucoin.
If you want to use Wire transfer, Kucoinisn't supported but in FTX, you can.
And the last thing is if your purpose is trading, I will recommend using Kucoin because they had supported more or less 480 + coins, while on the other hand FTX, only supported 100 + coins which is surely the trading volume isn't good if you're a trader.

The comparison was stated above and I think OP now can decide which exchange is suitable to use.
1566  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: There's life after this season. on: December 25, 2021, 11:02:10 PM
after this season, your normal life begins, and then how bad or good you were able to handle this season would Dawn on you.

In my case my new beginning after this season is in the middle cause there's bad thing and good things.
The bad thing is I was hit by the typhoon my house washout  I don't know where to start it's hard to find some electricity to charge my gadgets, not enough water and the internet connection will be lost sometimes. But besides that, I am thankful that I'm alive and given a chance to start again in next season.

You're not alone mate and we're in the same situation but it feels better now we've received a lot of donations, solar panels for charging gadgets, and a lot of bottled water that can we can consume for at least how many weeks.  Reach me out if you have time maybe we're near to each other and I can able to help you with what I have.

I will not regret if I sold my Bitcoin not to celebrate this Christmas season but to satisfy all of my needs during the crisis, I already experience when the pandemic hit, and now we had this unexpected calamity, Bitcoin is very helpful because I have spare a little to help during when were down.
But I tend to agree with OP, don't spend too much just to impress others, just be contented with what you have and what you can afford.
1567  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Visa Partners With 60 Crypto Platforms to Let Consumers Spend Digital Currency on: December 23, 2021, 11:57:05 PM
Such great news to us crypto enthusiasts, I smell another bull market and possibly could reach another ATH.

Based on Statisca.com,
Quote
"This statistic shows the number of VISA debit cards in the United States and worldwide from the first quarter of 2016 to the fourth quarter of 2020, by region. In the fourth quarter of 2020, there were 687 million VISA debit cards in circulation in the U.S. and 1.7 billion VISA debit cards in circulation worldwide excluding the United States."

1.7 Billion users on debit cards using Visa will potentially have an awareness of crypto and even 30% of it will invest in crypto will surely have a huge impact.  But this isn't about Bitcoin alone, it included all altcoins.
1568  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Are new generation of investors more into gambling? on: December 23, 2021, 11:42:55 PM
However, this does not generalize everything, there are some people who are also serious about learning from scratch and becoming traders.
This is true, I have a few friends the same at a young age as me who had open-minded when it comes to crypto investment.  They know what pump and dump crypto and also the hyped coins, especially meme coins.  Not all of them prefer to gamble their money, they even know that Bitcoin is the best investment among altcoins.

Investors who want to gamble might be the reasons are;
  • Want a quick profit
  • Don't have an idea of what they invested, as long as they heard profit
  • Under influenced by the popular influencer
  • Being hyped
1569  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to identify some scam websites. on: December 23, 2021, 11:25:29 PM
But for the record some people still fall for this because some of them never bookmark the site because they like to find it on Google then click.
Google search isn't recommended if you're looking for a website, it might be good to make sure that you have landed on the right website always remember the domain name, double-check, and once you've reached it out, bookmark it to your browser.

But Google has a tool to determine a scam website, just search the URL in the search bar and you will know the status of the site if it has a phishing link.
Google’s Safe Browsing.
And Report to Google if you found unsafe browsing.

1571  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Bullish Scenario - Minimum will reach $75000 on: December 21, 2021, 11:59:18 PM
From the bearish conditions that we have experienced for almost the last month, we can see that the price of bitcoin is almost close to the $40k price level. As long as we don't find a large bearish candle, the bullish scenario for Bitcoin will still occur. The next projected bitcoin price target is around the $74k-$75k level.

It seems a good analysis and we saw that the market now was slowly recovered from the previous correction.
This could be near to accurate prediction and by the end of the year Bitcoin will go up again and I think, this is natural that Bitcoin has a correction during holidays.

It could be by next year Bitcoin price will start into a path of a bull season which everyone most anticipated.  I don't believe that there's a huge drop like what happened in the year 2018, Bitcoin has gained popularity and has more investors like institutional investors or even a private individual that potentially called whales.
1572  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is this what we have become? Bitcoin is Shiba`s Altcoin now?! on: December 21, 2021, 11:53:14 PM
Came by this post on Twitter by the so claimed shiba founder.

I dont know if i should laugh or to cry...
I think it is natural that the founder wants to hype their project, after all if they do not believe on what they are doing then who will?

However I find it funny they mention their own coin with the likes of bitcoin, after all we know that bitcoin is by far the best coin we have in the market and it has gained the trust of the community, SHIB is nothing more but a meme coin, and while it could be part of the market for a long time it is never going to compete with bitcoin when it comes to real adoption, so we must take that statement for what it is, an attempt to hype their coin and nothing more.
As per see, that's right, the founder wants to make hype on that project and that such nonsense claimed.
We know that Shib token is just a meme coin and there's no real use and comparing to Bitcoin is a very far concept which is we know Bitcoin has a truly decentralized code than altcoins.

People that understand this Shiba shill and making such hype for sure don't invest.
Shiba founder was in a dream about his claim and should be ignored.
1573  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Question about receiving addresses on: December 21, 2021, 11:43:22 PM
So, can I use those btc addresses as receiving addresses permanently?
Yes, you can use it permanently or reuse it, your coins will appear on your dashboard even though you will use different unused wallet addresses.

I tend to agree with all comments above, blockhain.com wallet has the worst services and if you have time to research it here, there are a lot of issues regarding their services.  Electrum is a good alternative Bitcoin wallet address and it has also an unused Bitcoin address that you may use too after making a transaction, it will generate a new address on its own.

If you didn't receive it yet, I think it's good if you will change to a new Bitcoin wallet platform that completely open-source code which is a noncustodial wallet.  You can download it here https://electrum.org/#download and don't forget to verify.
1574  Economy / Exchanges / Re: KYC and Beard, asking for a friend. on: December 21, 2021, 11:24:42 PM
Based on Binance Know Your Customer (KYC), the valid IDs that were accepted are;
  • Driver’s License / Government-issued photo ID
  • Passport
  • Social security number
  • PAN card
  • Voter ID Card
I think if your friend has these recent IDs that I mentioned above that don't have beards I think that's the best choice.

There are too many exchanges aside from Binance as an alternative to use but if your friend really wants to use this exchange platform I think the best thing that he can do is to contact the support regarding this matter and prefer other IDs for further identification.  If your friend has money left there and shaving his beards is the only solution, hehe, let him do this for the sake of his money.  Cheesy
1575  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think crypto is going to replace the dollar? Jack: Yes, Bitcoin will on: December 21, 2021, 10:59:37 PM
It's impossible.

Bitcoin is decentralized and fiat is centralized and controlled by the banks under-regulated by the government and the government is always concerned about how they will regulate when it comes to monetary matters.  Instead, dollars have been used of Bitcoin to store a value that becomes has an expensive value when it comes to bull season.

I don't even know that guy and I think he was trying to get attention the same like Elon Musk did since he was idolizing him.
1576  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A newbie has honest reasons for being involved with crypto on: December 21, 2021, 10:43:30 PM
It's my first post and it isn't wrong to be honest. I'm trying to get involved in crypto to make money and this website's a great place to start. People here do the same thing making money or try to make it every day. I don't have a crypto background so I'll post about things I'm good at or know about. I'd like to build up my rep because signature campaigns pay well but it isn't easy starting from nothing.
A newbie like you shouldn't think this way in the first place, it should knowledge is our first priority before thinking of making money.  There's too much fraud that happened everywhere because of the people that have the same mindset as you, they didn't know how crypto will work and put investing without thinking about the possible risk.  Besides, a forum isn't the sole purpose of making money, we're just here sharing ideas and knowledge less priority is about the money.

If it isn't for personal reasons what made you join? If it isn't about money it's got to be social chats, crypto trading or crypto development. Some of you joined years ago and you're still here so what's keeping you here? Sorry I'm not being nosey I'm trying to make conversation and understand what's the best way to make money from crypto.
To have a new update related to cryptocurrencies projects and also Bitcoin's improvements, if you're one of those who have Bitcoin interest, you might be here to monitor and gather information about the development.  Or just simply, because it's your habit to be here.
Making money in crypto is easy if you've been fulfilled with knowledge.

1578  Economy / Reputation / Re: Bitcointalk Charity and its funds on: December 20, 2021, 11:53:38 PM
I thought this is already settled by it seems they choose to keep silent.

Good - where's the money?
Good question, but only them who know everything.  Cheesy
Or it could be a good question, where are the documents of the money spent?

All people asked here is the liquidation of the money spent during those activities they held and which is I assumed the paper documents have been lost and now they're facing this into trouble.
1579  Economy / Services / Re: How can I earn BTC on: December 20, 2021, 11:38:22 PM
As per as I understand, OP was trying to offer services in exchange for Bitcoin which is a very common skill that has a lot of competition, just try to find another one that could be unique.  I think web programming or a developer might be in demand here and find a new project that looking for a web developer.  I suggest making your service thread offer service that you know.

Have you tried a Freelance job?  Or join an affiliate program.
There are too many ways to Earn Free Bitcoins but I think it takes time before you can have it.

Anyway you can move this into Beginners & Help and find a better answer to your question and post it here when you have to make a service thread.
1580  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Btc hodlers vs short time traders on: December 20, 2021, 10:58:33 PM
HODLing may be considered one of the better ways of investing. If you prefer not to do any hassle task, then this method may work either short or long-term since you only need to be aware of the initial investment you entered, while cashing out the excess- which would yield to profit.
I tend to agree with this statement, but I don't know why there were too many risk taker investors, they want to make a profit in just a short period of time, and most commonly those coins that recently have a hype due to the manipulation of price while others even choose to invest in meme coin which doesn't have really a use.  Why?  Because they want to make a profit in just a week or months knowing that it could that's a trap and you will end up losing your investment.

I also prefer holding which is a good decision.  Though the process of earning money is quite long to happen at least the risk isn't that huge as we invested into altcoins or trading altcoins.
