1561  Other / Meta / Re: why focus on merits? on: February 18, 2018, 12:13:03 PM
For me merit is like my goal in life that is hard to reach.
If getting merit on an online forum is your life goal, you need to think about the priorities in your life.

But i think not only focusing in merit is very important in this forum. If people has much concern, love and embrace this technology sooner or later it produce much useful and progressive system. It helps much more number of people or maybe all people can join here. Having merit is not easy. People need to be more productive, constructive and have a positive mind to build a meaningful post.Merit is a thing that lead us to the right way in room of improvement, but the very important thing is doing our best shot to be much better here in the forum. To donate much meaningful and helpful information to others especially in newbies.

All this could e summarized into "Merit system is good for the forum". No need for fluff.
1562  Economy / Economics / Re: Is trading just educated guessing? on: February 18, 2018, 12:09:02 PM
trading is just guessing what price or movement of certain kriptocurrency coins because you will do a lot of research and a lot of analysis against it. that's how you will do things that can be in the price movements that come out and must take a decision in trading to be the greatest.

It is correct that a lot of research and study is involved. I know a lo of people who started learning about shares and everything and left in between. Learning about crypto is even harder as most of the information is on internet and you have to filter a lot of junk.
1563  Economy / Economics / Re: tax on: February 18, 2018, 12:07:32 PM
in your country income from bitcoin taxed? state the country
We should  pay taxes  because  it is our one responsibility  as a citizen of our own country

Also, do not forget about the legal requirements. There is no point in making millions with bitcoin investment, not paying the taxes and then ending up in the jail.
1564  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Burning of Money on: February 18, 2018, 12:05:04 PM
Basically, as long as money is being used by tge majority it wont be burned by bitcoin. Bitcoin is just a small percentage of thereal money. Money will only be burned once people start adapting bitcoin as main form of payment. Money is really just like a paper, it has value simoly because people decide to see it  as something valuble. But if people woukd turn to bitcoin, money would become a useless paper just like what happened in zambabwe.

Why will the US government let it happen ? Can not they just ban their citizens from investing in bitcoins ? It should not be that hard for them.
1565  Economy / Economics / Re: Companies that are scary on: February 18, 2018, 12:02:22 PM

Of all the large companies that are now large internet players, do anyone particularly scare you in terms of how you data and track could be used? Amazon, Facebook, Twitter, …?

Whether you believe it or not, but all companies are involved in such practices, Especially, the companies which have data of millions of users. There is so much money to be made with this. I recently purchased a domain from a leading company. I started getting calls from web design companies from my country and it continued for 30-40 days. You decide.
1566  Economy / Economics / Re: Regulation of bitcoin: dream or Inevitable on: February 18, 2018, 12:00:20 PM
Financial regulations are imposed by governments on businesses and financial institutions in order to manage a nation's financial system. Bitcoin is not governed by any central authority and is free from such influences.[1]

On the other hand, bitcoin needs exchange platform So the solution to regulate bitcoin is to regulate the exchanges. If that happens, then the big banks will open their doors, making life easier for exchanges and investors alike. The banks will win from this too, because they can stop customers drifting away to more daring competitors. [2]

which scenarios will occur? "More Regulation or More Decentralization"

I do not understand that why is everyone against regulations. It has its own advantages like you will see less manipulations. Currently, the big investors are making the most of the bitcoin growth.
1567  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin price "drop" on: February 18, 2018, 11:56:50 AM
Yes it is true, FUD should be stopped immediately, give a positive opinion about bitcoin, create a positive and interesting article about bitcoin, in: tweeters, facebook, blogs, web and others, maybe in that way, at least will help the process of growing the enthusiasm of society to bitcoin.

You are right about this. If all the investors on this forum, just add their own experience with bitcoin investing on social media, it will result in huge boom. Currently, we see negative news being spread by bloggers just to drive traffic to their blogs by creating controversies.
1568  Economy / Economics / Re: crypto market demand is increasing on: February 18, 2018, 11:52:17 AM
I am ahppy to hear this good news after so much time. Was fed up of hearing news regarding bitcoins getting banned in different countries. It will definitely result in increase in prices.
1569  Economy / Economics / Re: how can the beggars access Bitcoin? on: February 18, 2018, 11:50:58 AM
If all paper money were change into Bitcoins, can it be access and use by everyone? how can the beggars access Bitcoin?

There are beggars in my country who earn $1000 per month or above. I will not be surprised if they have invested in bitcoins. Of course, they will have to take help of children as they might not be aware of doing net transfer and registering accounts on exchange. Note that I am talking of beggars who are begging near big temples or very crowded markets.
1570  Other / Meta / Re: Don't you think that merit system is like avoiding new comer in Bitcointalk? on: February 18, 2018, 11:48:08 AM
I joined this forum in November 2017 and most of the merits in my profile are earned after merit system. So this forum welcomed a new comer like me with open arms I guess.
1571  Other / Meta / Re: Why not just adding 1 phone number per account ? or 1 IP per account + Verfify on: February 18, 2018, 11:45:58 AM
Not only phone number.
Theymos should enforce KYC and create new board where we will publicly reveal our personal information and ID's with pictures.
Picture of credit cards too. Both side.
Signed message from all wallets with funds and private keys and maybe picture of your family and friends too.

This is bloody forum would you please stop spamming it with useless merit threads and ideas just because no one has sent you merit?

Even if all these information is implemented, all this can be faked. I do not think any other forum receives so much spam registrations. Only issue here is that a lot of money is involved even with discussions.
1572  Other / Meta / Re: Merit Data from 503 Randomly Selected Altcoin Bounty Hunters on: February 18, 2018, 11:44:43 AM
Nice statistics here. I noticed while browsing the altcoin thread that actual worthy discussion almost always doesn't get merit, but the spam, announcement threads and the like are getting merits from what I would presume their alt accounts.
There are members giving away merits to new members who can apply in those threads. I remember one such thread in service section especially for contributions in alt section. One can quote their posts in alt section in that thread and get some merits.
1573  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: February 18, 2018, 11:42:26 AM
Is any action going to be taken when members are found abusing the system? There are a couple of threads of "abuses" and I donīt see any particular action taken to discourage it.

Following can be reason for this:

1) It can be really confusing to distinguish between abuse and innocent mistake. So, if every case reported their is punished, some members who gave merits by mistake (like for testing), will get punished as well.

2) Admin knows that these default merits that members got will be finished soon. It is not going to make major impact here.
1574  Other / Meta / Re: Does the merit system have weaknesses? on: February 18, 2018, 11:40:02 AM
with the merit system really helps this forum from spammers, and this improves post quality from forum members. but will this merit system actually stop spammers and make them look for loopholes in getting these merits?

so far I think the merit system is very good and makes me eager to make a post with good quality. thx  Smiley

Reality is no system is perfect. People will always try to cheat the system. No doubt, merit system is showing its effects. Have you observed the number of people complaining that they are not able to rank up. That already proves that it is working. This will also get better with time when most of the merit will come from merit sources.
1575  Other / Meta / Re: The Merit System is a huge success and now it's time for demerits. on: February 18, 2018, 11:37:31 AM
The trust system is more than enough. Demeriting would only bring about negativity, and it's possible that users will be wrongfully ganged-up on (and they'll needlessly lose all their hard earned merit points)

Someone gave a suggestion above for that it should be given only to staff. That can be a good implementation. However, if I was the one making the decion, I would not complicate this so much. This will shift the focus more on merits and scammers will start looking for ways to cheat even more.
1576  Other / Meta / Re: Delete unmerited massages on: February 18, 2018, 11:34:54 AM
You got your wheels on getting merit. You kinda have idea there when I was reading your thread though sounds like your asking for it. The good thing is that thread was not asking directly any merits but you could analyze this one as the same as asking merit. It may sound good to you but we have to accept the truth that merits are given to those thread or post that is meaningful in regards with bitcoin system. I do not think that it includes merit system. Well good luck for the merits. May you gain merits from the thread you started.
Do not agree with this. Merit system is implemented for the whole forum. A member is free to merit any post in any section provided is is sensible and useful for the forum. If we limit merits to a particular section, members will not reply to genuine doubts of other members in various other sections.
1577  Other / Meta / Re: Joel_Jantsen's Merit Distribution Thread (Newbies Welcome) on: February 18, 2018, 11:32:15 AM
Thanks for this opportunity. One question for you- are past submissions in those threads also eligible ?
1578  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sports Betting Recomendation on: February 18, 2018, 08:18:01 AM
Because I want to keep my btc and have some extra ETH I would like to use to gamble. The point is on much smaller transaction fees when using ETH and if I would have to change them to BTC so I basically pay a small fortune for transactions. First transaction to exchange. Then exchange to betting site and then again when I want to withdraw.

So far as  I am concerned I deal only in BTC as my alt coin investments is very less. So that requirement for ETh deposits is not applicable to me. Other than that, I do check all the aspects you mentioned and the most important is reliability. I had shared my experiences here how I was cheated with my deposit on a site.
1579  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2018 Winter Olympics on: February 18, 2018, 08:15:32 AM
Yes I agree with this as I have seen some athletes do well but score very low which makes me think that they could be rigged some of the times. This is why I prefer to bet on the ice hockey as its like betting on the football with the over/under goals and the lines which I like to bet on. I think the gold medal bets are good for the countries which people think will do well.

There are certain sports where it is hard to notice if the athlete lost deliberately. We should avoid betting on those sports.  I do bet on gold medals but it also requires a lot of reserach. To make good money there, you have to bet of countries with good potential.
1580  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting in bitcoin is legal or illegal? on: February 18, 2018, 08:12:24 AM
It is illegal only in us because they can't earn money from these sites if they are paying tax then it's fine but till now most betting sites don't have a tie up. If you use vpn you are good to go or else if you don't reside in us then it isn't illegal because there isn't any particular law for bitcoin gambling

There are no rules in my country regarding playing with bitcoins. However, I suggest that everyone should pay taxes on the profit. Also, if the government in my country made its stance clear regarding this, I would be really happy and play without any tension.
