1561  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [115Gh/s+] Bitcoins.lc - Finally a usuable Bitcoin Pool! (EU, IPv6, 0% fee, LP) on: June 11, 2011, 11:38:22 PM
Is it me or I am getting VERY LITTLE winnings for the shares i contributed? I mean, ive veen mining for several hours, and the uncofirmed for the new block says 0.31974208 BTC
I dont know, but I always get only this very small rewards for the hours ive been mining

What hash rate are you contributing to the pool?

Around  800Mhash

Very small compared to what? I'm only asking because at the current difficulty with 800Mhash you cannot expect more then .30 BTC for "a few hours" of mining. With the pool now moving forward my 1Gh/s is doing better here then at deepbit where the fees start to add up.
1562  Economy / Economics / Re: THE PRICE OF BITCOINS IS CRASHING SELL SELL SELL on: June 10, 2011, 02:43:18 PM
Nothing like tabloid worthy headlines Smiley

Definitely undergoing a price adjustment, I expect in part because the media drove a number of people to "check it out" however the uses for it are limited right now and as people settle in reality hits a little more.
1563  Economy / Economics / Re: It looks like the Bitcoin's value is about to see a major retrace on: June 10, 2011, 11:05:42 AM
If you watch the trades on MtGox you can watch a couple of bots consistently play, there is a measurable level of influence they provided as people bought into the market.

This implies the client may have had an internal fault of some kind, have you restarted it to see if it cleans itself up?
1565  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: 3 x 6990 on: June 10, 2011, 01:39:59 AM
What kind of a processor would you need for a 3x6990 setup?

Would a Athlon II x2 250 (3ghz dual core) be good?

That proc will be fine.

Great use of BTC!
1567  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [80Gh/s+] Bitcoins.lc - Finally a usuable Bitcoin Pool! (EU, IPv6, 0% fee, LP) on: June 09, 2011, 01:16:53 PM
That's a fair point.

Also, what's the askrate for bitcoins.lc? I'm getting about 10% rejected. Sad

That rejected rate is about the same for everyone due to pushpoold/bitcoind handing out duplicate work for some reason we haven't been able to nail down - so your proportion of the block will be exactly the same as it would be anywhere else, except here you don't pay any fee Smiley

Ps. Someone above said they were having luck with a 3s ask rate, personally I get around 5-6% with a 1s ask rate.

Offhand I can't say it's a big impact but let's say 10% equals an effective has rate 10% lower then it could be and in turn an average of a 10% longer time to solve.......
1568  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Optimizing ATI performance, 6950 in particular on: June 09, 2011, 12:51:12 PM
It may be worth noting some 6950s cannot be unlocked because the flash is hardware locked so although one can easily make a proper rom one cannot flash it, for example XFX 6950s hardware revision A.3 (current Newegg offering) cannot be flashed. With that said techpowerup is one of the best sites to go for information and I have a thread going over there on a physical hardware hack, not sure if it will work yet but I'm playing with it.

love the look of the site, wish you the best!
1570  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: FS: Nvidia Tesla C2050 on: June 09, 2011, 01:20:46 AM
How does he even know about Telsa if he's so dumb ? Tongue There's a ton of threads that talk about Amazon's teslas being terrible for mining.   I'm calling shenanigans as well.

Because nvidia owns the business level GPU super computation market. Every time you hear anything about GPU computation (outside of Bitcoin) it is always a server full of Tesla cards.

You are spot on, aside from very specific things (hashing) Nvidia GPUs are generally considered the way to go. OpenCL is helping to change it but the support around CUDA is fairly strong.

I had a very high rate of rejected shares (2%-5%).

I will come back when thats solved.

Immediately have the same impression, too many rejects.

Feature suggestion: have a custom field for a name next to the miner name, just to allow people with many miners to have their own naming logic for administering many miners.

I just jumped back on myself, in the stats page I notice a high number of overall, sounds like the pool is dealing out a fair bit of duplicate work?

Where did the bounty end up? Hope it all worked out.
1573  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: SOLD OUT EVERYWHERE!! on: June 06, 2011, 05:34:26 PM
I had better luck with 5870s as well as unlockable 6950s. You obviously do not get the same density however they are less $/h
1574  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Bitcoins.lc - Finally a usuable Bitcoin Pool! (IPv6, 0% fee, Long polling, JSON) on: June 06, 2011, 01:06:25 PM
The average hash rate is going down for the pool, the stability of the mining is critical and it hurts when it happens. Hopefully you can get the bugs ironed out, I supported the pool for a while (still ranked fairly high) although I stepped away last week due to instability and other issues, I gave up 0% fee for a more reliable payout since even <30Gh/s was really hurting. Hopefully the small bounty will help.

Sadly, its attitudes like this that don't help Sad

The bugs cannot be easily fixed without a little downtime, which often compounds the views of people who are less well versed in the workings of server side infrastructure/bitcoin itself.

The pool has made massive strides in both availability and information in the last week.

It's the reality of the situation, like it or not for many bitcoin is turning into a pure capitalist play and the same attitudes apply. I for one am very well versed in the inner workings of server infrastructure and just like any business that understanding is secondary to $$ when there is a "free" alternative as the investment is simply pointing a miner at one pool or another.

1576  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Powering a monster (4 x 6990 ) on: June 06, 2011, 09:52:54 AM
You should have no problems at at all, I didn't look up the specific PS so this may not be an issue but just pay attention to what 12V you have things on so you don't overload a given rail and with that you will be fine.
1577  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Bitcoins.lc - Finally a usuable Bitcoin Pool! (IPv6, 0% fee, Long polling, JSON) on: June 06, 2011, 02:53:32 AM
0 Mh/s right now, assume there are issues?
1578  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: [[3 BTC Bounty]] I need your help to make GUI work on: June 06, 2011, 02:33:24 AM
I had the best luck by disabling all auto detection for the monitors, this allowed me to use all video cards in the system without dummy plugs and actually works better.

open the registry and do the following:

Disable Ultips:
 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E968-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}]
and change "EnableUlps" to 0 under the 0000 and 0001 or 0003 keys.

Disable TMM:
    Open Windows Vista registry editor(regedit)
    Navigate to this location    Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\TMM
    Click UseIViewHelper
Set the value data to 0 to disable TMM feature in Windows Vista.
If you want to re-enable TMM feature, set the value data to 1.
Click OK and reboot you computer

With these you should be set, as an option I also I setup my extra cards to extend the desktop and just set them to 800x600 and placed them in the corners of my main desktop, then you don't even need to bother with the above registry settings. In either case no dummy plugs attached.
1579  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: CPU bottleneck? (Q6600 Quad @ 2,8GHZ / ATI 5970 @ 925 MHZ) on: June 03, 2011, 10:32:41 AM
I tink you are dealing with a bug with some combinations of ATI drivers and miners (poclbm?). If using the GPU the CPU should be almost 0% but I've seen the same setup with mine when I OC, does not impact the has rate unless I pound my CPUs with something else, I also CPU mind but supply virtual cores - 4 to give my miners room.
1580  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Dummy Plugs/ Multiple GPUs on: June 03, 2011, 10:29:45 AM
I had the same issue but didn't need to do anything in hardware, only software. Not sure if this applies to your setup but it did work for mine (2x5770s) so you may have some luck. I went into the monitor configuration (screen resolution in Windows 7) and enabled my desktop to extend to the display showing from the second card. Nothing is plugged into the card but it did enable it, I set it to 800x600 and moved it to the upper right corner so I don't move into it by accident often.
