I do not get. What it the necessity of a token for something like this? Isn't would be better just to use Bitcoin? And why the price will go up? The project looks cool. But I do not see any necessity in having a token for this
1562  Other / Meta / Re: Who hosts Bitcoin Talk? on: June 21, 2018, 05:40:32 AM
Cyrus is the responsible for the domain name and is also an admin.
Sirius != Cyrus

The other administrators are grue, hilariousandco, mprep, rickbig41, Saltspitoon
(global) moderators, not administrators.

I did not know. When we report a PM appears the option to send to the "admin team of the forum".
Are there levels of hierarchy among those I mentioned? How many of them are admin? Only Theymos and Cyrus?

And I thought Sirius (Martti Malmi‎) have given up from the domain ownership.
1563  Other / Meta / Re: Who hosts Bitcoin Talk? on: June 21, 2018, 05:31:12 AM
Bitcoin Talk was founded by Satoshi but he stopped posting after December 13, 2010.
Yuph, he's/she's/they're pretty busy right now for sure, doing some stuff to improve bitcoin? No one really knows what Satoshi's doing.
Quote
Theymos is the owner now but who hosts Bitcoin Talk? Does Satoshi still run the hosting or does Theymos host it? If Theymos doesn't does he still have access to the server?
I think it's Sir theymos who hosts Bitcointalk. And yes, theymos has access to server.
Why do you ask anyway?

The reason I ask because I am just curious. I was wondering if maybe Satoshi was still working on bitcoin talk and hosting it and stuff but was silent while doing so.

I understand now though.

Theymos pay the bills. He receives money from the ads on the forum and from donations. Cyrus is the responsible for the domain name and is also an admin. The other administrators are grue, hilariousandco, mprep, rickbig41,Saltspitoon,

The forum sells ad space in the area beneath the first post of every topic page. This income is used primarily to cover hosting costs and to pay moderators for their work (there are many moderators, so each moderator gets only a small amount -- moderators should be seen as volunteers, not employees). Any leftover amount is typically either saved for future expenses or otherwise reinvested into the forum or the ecosystem.

Nobody knows what Satoshi is doing right now. And this is great =)

But the Dayle volatile is % become small. I think after we stop getting horrible news every week. We will see the price continue go up. Without the crazy party from December.

64000 more them 1 trillion market cap. I think we will hit 1 trillion market cap on total cryptocurrencies when Bitcoin hit 20k again. Probably some big projects will fail Big, but still, I do not see Bitcoin with more them 50% in the next bull run.

Seoul-based bitcoin exchange Bithumb said Wednesday it had lost over $30 million as the result of being hacked, the second cyber attack in two weeks to hit a major South Korean cryptocurrency exchange as safety concerns hamper the industry and weigh on prices.

Bithumb said it had lost $31.56 million (35 billion won) worth of cryptocurrencies and has temporarily halted withdrawal and deposit services. The company said it would compensate customers for all lost assets.

Bitcoin fell about 2% immediately after Bithumb disclosed the hack and recently traded around $6,600, according to research site CoinDesk. Bitcoin has lost over half its value this year and trades well below its all-time high of nearly $20,000 hit in December. Its low for the year came in February, at just under $6,000.

“Anytime a hack happens, it’s bad for the industry as a whole,” said Yo Kwon, chief executive of Hosho Group, a cybersecurity startup focused on blockchain. “But these hacks happen so frequently that it almost seems like it’s just part of the market these days.”

Bithumb once dominated global trading in cryptocurrencies. At the height of the cryptocurrency craze in South Korea late last year, it frequently reached No. 1 in terms of daily trade volume. It has since been surpassed by local rival Upbit, where the majority cryptocurrency trading in South Korea now takes place.

Bitcoin prices fell earlier this month after another South Korean cryptocurrency called Coinrail said it lost 70% of its digital assets from a “cyber intrusion.” Investors have lost over $1.4 billion from exchange hacks globally since 2014, according to an analysis by The Wall Street Journal.

In a paper published Wednesday by the Asia Securities Industry & Financial Markets Association, the trade group outlined what it believes are best practices for cryptocurrency exchanges. The paper included guidelines on various issues, including market manipulation, regulatory considerations and custody recommendations.

“Despite the growth, there has been trouble in paradise,” the paper said, noting that hacks on some of the bigger exchanges in Asia have resulted in hundreds of millions of dollars worth of bitcoin being stolen.

“In many cases, there is a lack of due diligence and independent insight on many of the industry’s new token sales that have led to failures caused by fraud, manipulation and mismanagement,” ASIFMA said.

Mr. Kwon of Hosho Group, who counts several cryptocurrency exchanges as clients, said their lack of adequate security entices hackers to steal from them.

“It’s such bait for hackers because the reward is so immense,” he said, adding that it can be an easier way to make money than stealing social security numbers or account information from more traditional companies. “If you hack an exchange and succeed, you immediately have assets that are worth something.”

1569  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Blockchain: You can not hide that your dApp is died. on: June 20, 2018, 05:05:47 AM

This is one of the beauties of the blockchain. You can not hide it when no one is using your project. And you can evaluate which project is most used quickly. Without relying on third parties.

I think it will hit 4 this year. It is one of the projects that could have real products on their mainnet real soon. They do not promise to change everything or make things that no one knows if will work. Sharding is great and use the POW to protect is just a simple solution. PoS is something for 2 or 3 years in any project. The ones that want to use only PoS now will suffer.

COINECT - AI-Based Decentralized Arbitrage Trading System
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4419682.0

1572  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: TRON leaves Ethereum network! How this will affect prices of of both coins? on: June 20, 2018, 12:05:23 AM
I hope people finally realize that this is a product of a company. That they are not decentralized. That they spend more money on marketing them with the product. And that they will spend a lot of money and will fail miserably.
1573  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Project without team members on: June 19, 2018, 11:59:52 PM

My questions is that have you seen any bounty campaign without team members and the project succeeded?

Do not waste your time on projects like this. Some projects could be successful without public person or organization behind. But if there is a bounty and he doesn't show anything so it is a scam. He is just hidden to disappears after getting what he wants. He ould just need your help to scam other people.
1574  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum Holds onto Recent Gains on: June 19, 2018, 11:47:25 PM
One year ago was 0.148. So We a far away from the BTC all-time high. And the supposed flipping is really far away. Probably because today Ethereum is the project to be attacked. We have tons of big projects trying to build something scaleable where people could build smart contracts and dApps.

We have today EOS, ADA, Zilinqa, Tezos, Qtum and many more that are trying to take the place from ethereum and are not competing directly with what Bitcoin is good (a decentralized store of value and currency)

Besides that, Ethereum has many challenges.  They need to be more scalable, they need do become PoS this year. They can not wait. And there are a lot of projects and people that have used their smart contracts for accumulating ETH and are probably dumping on the market because they need fiat to sustain their business.
1575  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is there an only reason for the current market? on: June 19, 2018, 11:14:36 PM
There is more negative news them positive ones. More regulation, hackers, stupidity decisions, fight, scams, bad companies. We need to start to have more great news. A lot of people are just scared about the market. A lot of newbies have lost a lot of money and people just say they will recover because that has happened in the past. But that is not enough. People need more incentives that make them secure enough to change from fiat to cryptocurrencies.
1576  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2018-06-15 President Trump’s former Chief Strategist to start new cryptocurrency on: June 19, 2018, 11:09:14 PM
He wants power. If he is in a power position, he doesn't care about how bad centralization is. If he is not in a power position, he will fight for change this with everything he can. I do not think he truly understand everything about cryptocurrencies.
1577  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-06-19] The difference between cryptocurrency and non-cryptocurrency on: June 19, 2018, 10:58:03 PM
A centralized currency or project could be considerate CRYPTOcurrency? It amazing me how many centralized projects exist on this date. It is probably more them the decentralized projects. Some of the biggest projects is centralized but intend to be total decentralized in their roadmaps. But others are just products of a company. If they are not decentralized and are products from a company they will fail. A centralized product will always be more scalable and cheaper them something on a blockchain.

I just see that masternode rewards is 0.72 and stake 0.1799. There is already the plase 3 of PoS. Maybe now the price of Solaris will grow at 6-8$. Just hold your coins.

How much cost a masternode today? Is there any chart comparing differents masternodes? I think this is by far the best moment to start accumulating for a masternode. I do not know if I can have one before the price explode, but I am trying.

I do not get eTore. They sell just papers (CFD). How do they talk like someone that understand what will be the future of cryptocurrencies? If we have any chance to continue to see crypto as relevant in the future, you should buy the currency or token. Not just some papers from a company.
1580  Economy / Reputation / Re: Gleb Gamow account was sold Proof on: June 18, 2018, 06:43:41 AM
Bitstamp is an incorporated entity, specifically the name of the entity is "Bitstamp LTD" but I can assure you there is not public information about who its shareholders are, who ultimately make high level decisions regarding the business.

It's completely off topic as is your blatant shilling for account sales, but maybe this will make you go away:

And the CEO has a negative Trust in BitcoinTalk.
