Pergunta: Quais projetos similares antecederam o bitcoin?

Fonte:http://blog.coinbene.com.br/blog/digicash-primeira-moeda-digital/421.html

Why no mention of regular PoW mining?  I think that is one of, if not the the most popular ways to get your hands on crypto outside of purchasing it.

The problem is that PoW usually needs at least a good computer, energy at an affordable price and a reasonable knowledge about installation of dedicated software and in many cases on linux.

Many people who participate in bounties and faucets use smartphones and computers that are not theirs.

But I think it would be interesting to at least mention the possibilities offered by PoW. New and serious projects like Grin offer great possibilities for those who want to know a little more about mining and be rewarded for it.

* means that the campaign is paying in bitcoin with the addition of some alternative coins (altcoin). Taking a further look into the campaign's payrate is recommended.
* means that the campaign counts the post per period (e.g. weekly, monthly) but they will pay the total earnings at a specific date. You have to visit their thread to find out more about it.
* means that the campaign has some bonus going on. The specified amount in the table is the least amount of money you can have for each round. Check out their thread to know how their bonus works.
** means that there are some special conditions. Please see the campaigns thread for more information.

Yes/No explanation
If a campaign has Yes/No as escrow status, it means that the person holding the funds also manages the campaign. This is a conflict of interest, but shouldn't be a big problem if the person doing escrow is trusted.

647  Other / Meta / Re: Merit Source Message on: January 16, 2019, 02:14:25 AM
Globb0 attitude is fun. Merits should flow, and giving smerits as an incentive could be better than always sustain an eternal circlejerk. But if he is a Merit Source, this attitude should be questioned. The idea is that a Merit Source sends merits for great posts that were useful, not to random posts for fun.

Merit source is a task, not a bonus.

The point of this is to demonstrate your ability to give out merit usefully.

648  Bitcoin / Press / [2019-01-14]HSBC banks on blockchain to finesse forex trades on: January 15, 2019, 01:57:15 AM
Financial Times

HSBC is leaning more heavily on blockchain-based tools to handle the fiddly processes behind foreign-exchange trades, suggesting banks are finding solid applications for a technology used in cryptocurrencies, which have been under pressure since valuations tumbled last year.

The London-headquartered bank, a heavy-hitter in forex dealing, has processed more than 3m FX transactions worth $250bn using blockchain technology in the past year, it said on Monday. That represents a tiny sliver of its overall currencies business, but still offers a rare example of a blockchain-based product that has proven its worth in wholesale finance.

Settlement provider CLS — an industry utility that ensures each side of currencies trades gets paid — launched a so-called distributed-ledger technology platform in November last year with Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley. But after an initial flurry of hype surrounding the potential for the technology, most DLT-focused start-ups have yet to come up with a product, stymied by concerns over speed and security.

Still, a number of projects are in testing mode. DTCC, a post-trade market infrastructure provider, moved its DLT project aimed at credit derivatives reporting to a trial phase in November last year. In the same month Spanish bank BBVA and two partners completed a syndicated loan on blockchain technology.

The HSBC project, known as “FX Everywhere”, has been used to co-ordinate payments across HSBC’s internal balance sheets using a shared ledger for a year. During that period it has handled more than 150,000 payments — netted down from 3m transactions — automating previously manual processes and reducing the bank’s reliance on external technology providers.

“HSBC . . . conduct thousands of foreign exchange transactions within the bank, across multiple balance sheets, in dozens of countries,” said Richard Bibbey, acting global head of currencies at HSBC. “FX Everywhere uses distributed ledger technology to drastically increase the efficiency of these internal flows.”

Multiple executives at the bank can simultaneously use the system to view trades from execution to settlement, reducing the risks of discrepancy and delay, the bank said. The platform has reduced HSBC’s spending with CLS, the bank added.

HSBC now plans to make its platform available to clients, particularly companies that manage a number of treasury centres and cross-border payments.

This will help people understand Blockchain better. And them, they will realize they do not need banks for this service.

Theymos have already spoken that he intends to allow guest to visualize the trust. And it seems to me that he should expand to other sections as well. Trust has never been just a business issue, in many cases it is a matter of trusting the information offered by that user.

The main reason that I went for this solution rather than forcing custom lists is that I would like to show some trust indicator to guests. But before doing that, I want to see whether these modifications can actually be made to work. If not, then I may go to the force-custom-lists solution, and that's incompatible with guests seeing any trust indicators.

I think it would be more appropriate to dispute the auction first. Theymos often recuse many companies that try to bid in the auction for various reasons. In addition, after winning the auction you will receive additional details.

But honestly, I believe you should recommend to your boss to think about promoting a campaign of signatures. Instead of ad directly on the forum, you would place the ad in the signatures of the users.

How much BTC per week are you earning with that obnoxious avatar and sig? Tongue

This week probably nothing. Last week no more than 5 dollars. And that's why I recommended using this advertising method. It's a much cheaper way to advertise than directly on the forum. And the price will only rise with more competition... Tongue

They have tried to put together Holo with others coins like EOS and Cardano. But the project looks very different and want to do things way more difficult. Their consensus system is called "Proof of Service”. I think it will be very difficult to work and there is a lot of buzzwords that investors love to use. It is the perfect project to hype.

655  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / "Tour de Satoshi" This guy is trying to promote BTC by doing a bike tour. on: January 13, 2019, 04:52:26 AM
Throughout the year, I started imagining myself playing a more active role in the bitcoin ecosystem and even earning bitcoin instead of Euro. The thought sounded ludicrous at first but then I thought why not?! I am, however, neither a developer, nor an educator, nor the type of business owner who can pay and get paid in bitcoin. So, I asked myself, what could I do to at least enhance the awareness and adoption rate of bitcoin. In other words, what would bitcoin do if it were a company (which obviously it is not!) to get more recognition and acceptance?

As a sports enthusiast, my immediate thought was that it would improve its image and adoption by increasing its PR and marketing activities through sponsorships of perhaps a sport team. It would probably also hire sales staff to convince other businesses to accept bitcoin, not to mention paying its own employees in this currency. All this to say, that I combine my two passions for sports and bitcoin and found a decentralized and sponsorship-based sports team called “team satoshi”, named after Satoshi (Nakamoto) obviously, the anonymous founder(s) of bitcoin.

I believe that if bitcoin were to play its role in the kind of world that I am imagining for humanity, it requires universal adoption. For this to become a reality, bitcoiners have a responsibility to spread not only the word but to also invest bitcoin itself in increasing its adoption and recognition through donations in PR activities, inviting nocoiners to join the community, and support those who have the skills to promote bitcoin like any other currency requiring education prior to adoption. I, for example, have been giving bitcoin as a gift for birthdays, Christmas and wedding presents in the hopes that it will intrigue nocoiners and the like.

As the 10th year anniversary of bitcoin, to many known as the Genesis block, approaches on January 3rd, it seemed as the perfect opportunity to use its celebration combined with the newly founded sports team, team satoshi, to raise awareness and adoption of bitcoin: a winter bike tour from Florence (the birthplace of modern banking) to Frankfurt (home to the European Central Bank (ECB)). The tour is called “Tour de Satoshi” and of course it starts on January 3rd!

https://medium.com/@vitus.zeller/why-am-i-on-the-way-to-do-a-winter-bike-tour-from-florence-to-frankfurt-b5b9910e026e

I believe that this type of attitude is important for the promotion of the BTC. When asking a store or hostel owner why he does not receive payments on BTC, this will naturally make him think and research how he could receive.

657  Economy / Reputation / Re: I was blackmailed on: January 13, 2019, 03:57:05 AM

I can bet a stale donut that jeremypwr created that alt to boot you out of the campaign. It makes no sense that a random nobody found that post (which jeremypwr had already seen) and that it ended up being a good enough reason to remove you.

Some campaigns usually pay an incentive, for those who report irregular posts. In the chipmixer campaign, there was a user who reported another user who received a neg trust. Users who participate in campaigns that pay well are a "target" for other users, who will search the entire history in an attempt to find something that can open a vacancy in the campaign.

I do not believe it was jeremypwr. He has already removed or changed users without giving any great explanation. He does not need to create a great reason to remove someone... unfortunately.

It is cool when you look at his next two tweets. Within a couple weeks he was thinking about adding anonymity and reducing CO2 emissions.

Is there any record in Bitcointalk of how he intended to add anonymity to Bitcoin? What did he think was necessary for greater anonymity?

And I found it curious that he almost at the end of the year decided to learn Haskell. Would he be interested, if still alive, by a cryptocurrency that used Haskell, like Cardano(ADA)?
660  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: received 500 free satoshi? on: January 12, 2019, 11:35:48 PM
Well I have seen things like this happen more often.
It basically is a company/coin/whatever that wants to attract attentions, and sends out a large number of very small amounts to known used addresses, and hope that the receiver will check out who sent it.

This usually happens with Tokens. But I do not know if it makes any sense make this with BTC. He probably has received some tip from someone from a job or service he provided.
