I can d0 $4 shipping to SoCal. 1.8 BTC total and it's yours.

Still available, price lowered.

Which power supply are you using?

I think you have a good point hardcore, although I'm not sure about the possibility of an iPhone or RPi getting you laid. With that said, here's a guy running cgminer on his linksys router:

I have my BFL single flying on my Pi. Just one though.
Didn't work so well unless I got a better USB charger to supply power.
When you say it didn't work so well with a bad power supply what happened? Did it work for a while then power off like mine? I'm not opposed to trying again with a better PS, but I've got more than one and I don't want to waste my time if there are still Com issues.

To summarize USB usage on RPi:

... actually this should be a pre-pre- warning for those companies attempting to power  'miners' off the USB ports.

Current BFL singles don't draw any power from usb so I'm not sure why that would matter. By the way guys, Ben's outlet has the Motorola Droid Bionic Lapdock on sale for $49 today. I picked one up and I'm going to turn my pi into a cheap laptop. While the $499 list price is bull, they usually go for around $60 used so pretty good deal.

Thanks for your dedication to this project. I'd like to request a new load balancing option. 1 device per pool. I'm concerned about pool stability once ASICs start rolling out.

From my experience with cgminer, load-balance and balance do not really distribute work evenly across pools. I'd like to define a list of 10 pools, and each device mines solely on one of the pools in that list. If one of the pools fails, the device attached will move on to the next pool in the list.

Thanks!

This can already be done just by running multiple instances of CGminer.  While it's not the most elegant solution, it is far easier than asking Con to add or rewrite code.
Yes that's already my backup plan, but I'd much rather monitor my miners from one instance vs n instances.

1569  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: How to start Stratum Proxy? on: November 17, 2012, 04:30:38 AM
Stratum connectivity is built into cgminer and bflminer. Use one of those, that's the easiest solution.

Got my 2 coins in today and was surprised to see a bonus bumpersticker sized magnet and bitcoin paper money. Considering a 10 coin round now. Awesome service, thanks Casascius!

Issue with the bottom fan are pretty common. I had one that was rattling out of the box. Turns out the fan is hitting the bottom of the case. You can open it up and add spacers if that's your issue.

Let us know how it goes, that looks like a viable alternative. My Dell workstation is running at about 90 watts, which isn't too bad I suppose.
1573  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: [POLL] Mining Solo or Mining Pool? (once ASIC products are delivered) on: November 13, 2012, 05:24:50 AM
Solo mining is a bit risky. Once ASICs are deployed, difficulty could rise dramatically in a matter of days. If you are solo mining with 60gh, it's possible you won't even find a block in that time period. Not worth it.
1574  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB] Low profile gigabit network adapter on: November 12, 2012, 06:59:02 AM
Can I see a pic or model number? I've "converted" a high profile NIC to low profile by snipping of the end of the bracket and bending it. Depends on how big the card is.
1575  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How to remotely monitor a raspberry pi from a Windows machine on: November 11, 2012, 10:28:35 PM
There are quite a few dynamic DNS services out there, I'm sure someone is still giving free addresses. If not, you could always go register a premium .com domain for $8 a year
1576  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How to remotely monitor a raspberry pi from a Windows machine on: November 11, 2012, 10:19:26 PM
I would suggest using a dynamic dns service.

+1 to CrazyBlane

Sold me some PCIe risers in this thread.

+1 for PandaMiner, excellent trader.
1579  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Raspberry Pi alternatives that can run multiple BFL singles, ASICs ? on: November 10, 2012, 01:16:31 AM
Since the Raspberry Pi's USB issues prevent it from running even one single reliably, are there any alternatives around 60-85 dollars that people are using for mining? The Mele A1000 and MK802 look promising but I'd like to know if anyone is using them before I purchase and give it a try.

If the quest is hopeless I may just spring for a book sized atom based machine like this one:

Not correct, depending on HW/SW details. I used to have issues with the older Linux distro and some older cgminer too (I have a 256MB RPi)
After updating its system and cgminer, I am running it with a BFL Single for close to 2 months now without ever needing to touch it.

With regard to multiple Singles, it depends on the specific USB hub.

I've got the 512mb pi with latest distro, firmware, and 2.9.1 cgminer, what are you using?
1580  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Raspberry Pi alternatives that can run multiple BFL singles, ASICs ? on: November 09, 2012, 10:55:16 PM
I ended up repurposing an old dell pentium D workstation. I suspect it will use up around 120 watts. I was really looking to get my controller's energy consumption as low as possible.
