1581  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Crypto Wallet on: December 20, 2021, 03:14:45 PM
But if you are willing for marketplace I would only recommend you Binance.
As it's the safest & trusted market place I have seen.
No, I still don't.
Even how trusted Binance is and how popular the name is with this exchange platform but I still don't choose to store my coins there.  They'd once hacked and there's no safe platform when we're talking about centralization.  It's better to always have full control over your private key which means you have your own crypto.

As mentioned above, the most common use Bitcoin wallet is Electrum which is totally free, but don't forget to verify it first before you will install and prefer to the official that dropped the link above.  If you can't afford to buy Bitcoin wallet, choose those open-osurce wallets but if you have extra money, I would go on hardware wallets which is totally safe.
1582  Economy / Reputation / Re: Bitcointalk Charity and its funds on: December 20, 2021, 02:36:28 PM
I thought this is already settled by it seems they choose to keep silent.

Yes, we've been hit by the super typhoon named "Odette" on Friday and Saturday.  I have been experienced since that day, no Electricity, No internet and the worst is no water and lack of food due to the cause of the heavy flood for two days.  Good thing I have my laptop saved and now it is almost 85% restoration of internet and electricity supply has been done and glad to see I can able to access the forum again.

Odette' slashes across 7 regions and it more wost in the Visayas and in Mindanao where I'm located.  But in NCR where they live and most charity activities are being held is on Morong Rizal and San Mateo Rizal and I have doubt they're near on that places which I think they only experienced signal number one only, AFAIK.  So, I don't think they are affected that much.

I hope they will resolve this ASAP, it's again the Filipino reputation which I hate when there's a fraud involved.
1583  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is Crypto Exchange Franchise Profitable?. Please I need advice on: December 17, 2021, 11:58:55 PM
OP is actually asking on an online forum for business advice
Which not supposedly right because asking for ideas from random people on the internet regarding your business isn't good.

If I were you OP, you should contact professionals and experts in a business franchise.
It could be,
  • A lawyer
  • Accountant
  • Business franchise experts
  • Business owner

I don't know either of those exchange platforms you mentioned above, just be careful about investing your money.
1584  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Crypto Bank on: December 17, 2021, 11:37:59 PM
What interests me is that it makes sense to start a “bank” that will take care of customers like traditional banks do. Opening an account, buying a crypt, maintaining a computer, etc.?
Bank used traditional money which is highly regulated by the government, it's I think it is irrelevant if the bank accepts Bitcoin which is unregulated because of its decentralized nature.  If you want the same services offered like a bank which is also centralized and purely accepts crypto, we have a lot of custodial wallets/exchanges that are regulated with governments too (depending on which country you are) which means, there's KYC compliance.

If you're a developer that related to crypto which is I have doubt that you understand decentralized, just be your own bank, have your own non-custodial wallet, and don't forget the golden rule of cryptocurrency.   "Not your key, not your coin ", so I think bank services aren't needed if you're in crypto especially in Bitcoin.
1585  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: Bitcointalk Charity funds in question. please read on: December 15, 2021, 12:30:42 AM
Kasi tingin ko, hindi lang concern ang charity program dito, kundi reputation na rin nating lahat as Pinoy bitcointalkers.
Exactly!

We hope na maibigay na nila yung mga proof of spending fund and makapagawa na rin ng spreadsheet for all expenses mula sa charity.
As of now wala talaga tayong maitutulong kun di sila lang talaga, liquidate lang naman ng expenses need nila as a proof kayang kaya yan nila.

Hope there's a better result and not ended up become worst.  Reputasyon ng mga Pinoy na naman to.
1586  Economy / Services / Re: Looking for someone to create a high-level standard presale announcement on: December 14, 2021, 11:59:43 PM
In addition to mentioned above and the link was given, just heads up to this board.  Services.
The given link above has been outdated and to find an active service that you're looking for is on that board.

There are too many of them who has been gained a reputation because of their work and I think that's a good indicator that they are capable of the service that you're looking for.

They also have more experience with some successful projects, they may be willing to give their advice.
I will mention yahoo62278 just to test his notification bot  Cheesy
Vouch for that dude too, one of the most professional managers here.
1587  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think Elon accepting Doge at Tesla will stop the latest slide in prices? on: December 14, 2021, 11:52:18 PM
At about 12:00 UTC today, Elon declared that Tesla will start accepting Doge for merch payments

You can add the link of where the speech was made exactly so that users can read because such news of Tesla adopting the use of doge as there payment cryptocurrency has been in the news for long, everybody waiting but the time wasn't released and now you have released the time. Help with the link too.

Yes, indeed, Elon Musk posted a tweet that some merch will be sold for Doge: https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/1470703708677840896 Obviously, it was this tweet that pushed the price of Doge by 30%. So there is nothing surprising in this choice, knowing about Elon Musk love for this coin.

Quote
Tesla will make some merch buyable with Doge & see how it goes
He really loves this coin and even CZ had arguments with this between Elon Musk.
I have doubt that he has another hidden agenda on this and guess what it is, profit, it's an earning when Dogecoin will boost the price.  He really knows that it will not work on Bitcoin even though how influenced he is because crypto enthusiast has been experienced this when he was making a FUD before.

At this point, I don't care and it's not being surprised to know this news.  I know that from time to time this will happen because he was also a big whale in the Doge community.
1588  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is the market going to dump like that 2018? on: December 14, 2021, 11:43:20 PM
Only red lights have been burning in the market for several days now. Many have investing and lost a lot. I have lost a lot by investing myself. I don't really understand which way the market is going or will go. What do you suggest in such a situation?
If you have held potential coins, then that's good to hold for a while since we're in a bloody stage market situation.
The reason that you have a huge loss a lot is just because you don't have proper management of your asset which is turn into being trapped while the market has been dropped and AFAIK, most traders in this situation will most likely take a break for a while.

No, I feel a positive vibe that the market will never be the same as before.  We gained a lot of investors even those institutional or individual investors and some factors of there are few countries making Bitcoin legal tender and I don't think there will be a huge drop like hitting almost in the ground.

However, holding long-term is less risky and you don't need to have a patient.  Look, just imagine if you have bought last few 5 years ago and I don't know much your profit now.
1589  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Only invest an amount you can afford to lose" on: December 14, 2021, 11:29:02 PM
Don't get me wrong, we should still be heavily educating people when it comes to proper investing in general with DCA-ing and probably not going all-in on one go and stuff, but I think bitcoin is a lot less risky of an investment now compared to the past few years despite it still being volatile.

Thoughts? Opinions?
I think that's still being volatile and nothing has changed, so it means there's still a risk on that part.

As we know Bitcoin investment is good for long-term holding and educating people especially when they are new investors, this could a good and appropriate word to use.  The reason could be they think that Bitcoin investment will give an ROI after several days, so if they can't hold for a long period of time, this should be a good term to use upon giving them advice, "Invest of what you can afford to lose".

We don't want people giving their full assets to Bitcoin and hoping that it will give a huge return quickly, then suddenly there might be a shortage and pull out back the assets that having a huge loss, it should be can afford to spend.
1590  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance permanently shuts down Singapore operations. on: December 14, 2021, 11:18:11 PM
IMO, just because of the Regulatory compliance, as I heard before this was their top priority, and as the CZ said, they are going to become a financial services company that would become a fully need a compliment.

I have doubt that not only Singapore will experience this, it might also those countries have heavy regulation and can't operate without a license.  A part of the plan by CZ is that Binance could be registered as a crypto-asset firm.

Then, if they had shut down operation in Singapore, what will be the next country is?
1591  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Finally Climbs Back Above $50k, but can it Remain there? on: December 13, 2021, 11:59:22 PM
Some people must have panicked when they saw the price of bitcoin dropped drastically far below the price it was bought for.
The reason why the price keeps dropping is because of the FUD that keeps spreading, it was small investors who were afraid to lose their investment.  Once they heard a short correction, they quickly pulled out their investment and convert it into fiat.
Some reason that I have doubt that there's a long price correction because of a long panic selling and didn't quickly recover because of this scenario.

But I didn't expect that there's a big downtrend this year, I still saw a healthy market that could probably the price will increase by next year.  It's pretty normal during this season Bitcoin will drop due to the yearly activities.
1592  Other / Archival / Re: Don't send your personal data to anyone in PM on: December 13, 2021, 11:51:42 PM
If interested, I can make a whole separate table with a large list of services with self-destroying content, from text to pictures and voice messages.
Thanks for that information, I didn't know there are too many of them that service a self-destructing message after receiving it.

That's a good idea if you will make a separate table with a large list of that kind of service, it also includes the feature they had and how much time before the text content will be destructed after seeing it from the receiver.  Also, might there be a limit of characters that you need to input.

By the way, all your big lists have been bookmarked of mine, it would be nice if there's a list on this too.
1593  Other / Meta / Re: My Affiliate Business Sales Page Was Deleted. Why? on: December 13, 2021, 11:40:09 PM
I don't know if the rules changed but I think it's allowed to put referral links under your signature?
Yeah, that's allowed it here.
Under your signature profile or signature text below on our profile image(avatar) but this feature isn't applicable to OP since it requires first to purchase copper membership as said above.

I also am a verified affiliate employee for most of the goods and services on the thread, so I do work with them officially.
That's not a valid reason, rules are rules and we should follow on it not unless if you want to risk your account from a permanent ban.

Once a Legend said that relevant to your question.
just to clarify... i am allowed to put my ref link in my signature and suggest users use it in my main post?

Do not make topics or replies just to share your referral link. Whether it's in your sig, avatar, personal message, profile, within the post itself, or tattooed on your forehead is irrelevant.

Edited for clarity.
1594  Other / Archival / Re: Don't send your personal data to anyone in PM on: December 13, 2021, 04:04:51 PM
Privnote is the only platform that I used before when I have purchased a collectible coin to Hhampuz and it needs to send my personal details and location for the receiving address.  And I tend to agree with the OP, we should need to use this for personal security purposes.  Using self-destruction tools can be useful.

Due to curiosity because it was said above that this privnote isn't safe and I have been a search a little to find a good alternative on Privnote.  But these are what I have found.
Some of them are android app and I didn't include them.  Can anyone have been used this or are there other good alternatives aside from privnote?

Anyway, thanks for this good and informative input OP, it's bookmarked now.
1595  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Two Australian exchanges collapsed recently, remember to withdraw your bitcoin on: December 13, 2021, 03:38:17 PM
Reminder that the bitcoin you hold at exchanges is not yours. Withdraw your bitcoin from exchanges while you still can.

Some people think that their bitcoin is safer at an exchange than in their own custody. As you can see from these recent news, that's not true at all. "Not your keys, not your bitcoin".

Learn how to keep your bitcoin safe in cold storage instead of keeping it in exchanges.
How many people still didn't know this golden rule of Bitcoin, the line that I bolded above was perfectly right.  Bear in mind that it should be always to have full control of our crypto assets over the key.

How many exchanges have been shutting down this year, especially those not well-known crypto exchanges, I'm suspected that just because of the heavy regulations implemented by the governments to push traders to have a KYC.  But good thing, I heard none of them becomes an exit scam exchange, most of them have an announcement to withdraw the fund quickly.

Centralized exchanges it seems started collapsed, then, who will be the next?
1596  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If you want to know better about btc on: December 13, 2021, 03:00:16 PM
Second: all you need to do is study about wall street and banking and finaces and federal reserve.
And you will be successful about btc.
Even this, https://bitcoin.org/en/how-it-works.
There is basic information there that is easy to understand even if you're a newbie that willing to learn more about Bitcoin and Blockchain.
It doesn't make sense to study wall street, banking, finances, and the federal reserve, they aren't correlated to Bitcoin and you will learn nothing in that way.

What did you mean by successful about Bitcoin?
1597  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you have any favorite superstititions when trading crypto on: December 12, 2021, 11:59:30 PM
Haha,  Cheesy
Yes, I have.
Wearing my lucky bracelet feels good while in the trading and I wear it when I want to gamble.
It seems like a lucky charm on my part but sometimes I don't mind it because I don't usually believe in superstition.

We know that the market works technically and fundamentally aspect, there's no such way to make a profit and maybe you think trading is like gambling that is based on luck, no that's not.
1598  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Exchanges dont allow third party transfer, a friend cant send btc to my wallet? on: December 12, 2021, 04:11:57 PM
Can you tell us what is the name of that third-party wallet that you meant?  I have doubt that because of the address, there are some third-party exchange/wallets that don't support transferring Bitcoin using the SegWit address from the Legacy address and I experienced this already.

If your friend wallet address starts with "1" and assuming you're using SegWit address wallet which is start with "bc1", they aren't compatible which is you can't transfer your Bitcoin from Legacy to SegWit address, but in SegWit to Legacy, you can.

However, don't mind the hackers. Cheesy
They're smarter than us, the only one that could protect us is we should hold and have control in our private key and keep it safe.

If I'm wrong, please comment with further explanations.
1599  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Roobet scams FORCED TO GAMBLE on: December 12, 2021, 03:41:51 PM
Why are u depositing to a casino if u dont want to gamble?

Its a casino not a wallet or coin mixing service
If this is the only purpose that OP just wanted to mix the coin on this platform, that's totally wrong, it might be OP didn't read well the Terms of Service on that gambling company.  Upon using every platform, it should always don't forget to the T&C and even FAQ.

On their T&C under "Payment Method".
Quote
"Any trading or selling with other entities than the company is not allowed and will result in the termination of your account"

There's no problem about wager requirement, you can wagger 25% and you have 75% left if you can manage your fund.
1600  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Whats the point hodling, if you can't risk it all? on: December 12, 2021, 03:11:58 PM
Holding entire your life isn't a wise idea especially for Bitcoin, you'll loss a lot if you buy on peak. I prefer to cut loss and buy every dip, so it will recover more faster than just holding until the price increase like the beginning you bought.
I tend to disagree with this idea, it should be anytime you can buy Bitcoin either if it's at a peak price.  Because you will never know when the peak price will stop, the only thing that we can determine is that we've reached the previous ATH.  But yes., it could be better if you will buy at the dipped price but another problem is there's no exact time frame when it will happen.  So I suggest, anytime you can buy and hold it for a long period of time.

Holding at least for about 10 years is I rest assured that there will be your profit.  First thing first, if you believe in Bitcoin and invest in it, you should believe it too that Bitcoin will grow after for how many years. (it's already proven)

So now, OP was right, what is the point of holding if you can't risk and if you don't believe in Bitcoin.
