1581  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Gulden a good investment? on: November 30, 2016, 05:39:19 PM
No need to listen to me just giving my opinion, buy what you want. Welcome to post about Guldencoin in above linked thread.

170 Million premine in block 1 is 50% of what currently is in circulation. At current rate premine is over $6 million.

Goodluck.
Dude that is for develope and projects and that NLG will never for sale on the market only here https://shares.gulden.com/

If I remember correctly the premine was originally supposed to be for distributing directly to the Dutch people, as it was launched amidst a sea other country shitcoins, with auroracoin being the most spectacular success/failure. Then at some point the dev(s) decided they would just cancel the airdrop and use the funds for "development". Now you're just running on pure trust that they won't change their mind(s) again and decide to use it just to line their pockets at some point. That's nice they have some get togethers with like 20 people, maybe they provide coffee and cookies, and it's nice that you trust them not to dump the premine, but I don't think it's unreasonable for people to not trust the dev(s) not to dump 50% of the available supply of what is nominally supposed to be a decentralized currency. Afaik there's no laws or regulations preventing it, it's just based completely on trust in what is supposed to be a trustless system.
1582  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Gulden a good investment? on: November 30, 2016, 02:43:31 PM
I realized that they have remained strong in the market for some time, even without much hype, but there is all this premine stuff.
It may be a good investment at some point, but I'm not sure if this is the time to invest, because with the btc bull market in scene, the altcoins can have tough times for the next few weeks.

So, if I start a real world company, I'm supposed to do it without capital? All the bashing of "premines" is childish. Of course many coins here with a premine were scams as in the real world many startups are scams. If you want to build a company, you need money up front, period. Gulden's record, growth and adoption speak for themselves. As long as a project can account for the premine, there is no problem.

It's not childish to be leery of something that purports to be a currency when 50% of the available money supply is controlled by a single (anonymous?) entity. A currency is not a company.

Bitpedi is dead now. Rip.

What do you mean dead? There is a whole 0.006 BTC on the order books at Cryptopia Cheesy
1584  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Zcoin (XZC) - Implementing Zerocoin technology for financial privacy on: November 28, 2016, 01:34:27 AM
Devs really??!!! Do something, this coin is currently dumping down like shit at the toilet. A couple days before i was relly optimistic but now im very sad.
Where is the Marketing for this coin? Where are the plans for listing this coins at bigger exchanges like Polo...? Only posting every Week 1 post at Bitcointalk is not enough.
I currently cannot believe that so many miners are dumping their coins. I currently believe that you are dumping your own coins which you are mining.
Have many Coins from this shit. If the price is falling below 0.0005 will sold all my coins and will stop mining this coin...Im really pissed off...

Who makes a guess about the xzc price? How long does the dumping stop?

I almost grabbed a few around 0.00065, then I was like, "eh, I've had a few beers, I'll wait for tomorrow", and then price was down like another 10% next day. Still holding out atm...

The market decided "which has a brighter future."

As I predicted, SuperNET went nowhere (24 hour volume = $111) and took BBR nowhere, at it was merely yet another jl777 pump and dump scam-asset.

Meanwhile, DarkNote (now DigitalNote) enjoys continued development and an order of magnitude higher volume than the SuperNET abandonware.

But, but, but...Komodo! Seriously though, how many ICOs has that guy run?

and Monero has developed RingCT which will allow for non-zero mixin ring signatures, something that no other cryptonote has.

I think you meant non-zero mixin multi-sig, right?  Wink

I am not interested to start a fight so I will not list here the big list of Monero advantages over BBR. Those who want to can hop over Monero thread on bct or reddit.

BTW, I hope BBR gets moving soon and become a strong member of the CN family.

Yes, you're correct - meant to say multisig.

In other news, some shadowcash guys contacted me about getting reddit admin privileges so they could fix it up and make it look fancy. Added them as mod a few days ago, so maybe there will a reddit facelift in the not too distant future.

No it is broken to all hell. Nothing works best to stay away.

It looks like you are trolling. The dev offered assistance and you appear to have ignored it.

Hopefully that would be enough to keep blocks coming...

The chain is working. I can sync quickly and send funds from one wallet to another.

I see. I actually synced up my laptop last night and let it run mining and found some blocks overnight. But, the same problem could happen again where someone can rent $20 worth of hashpower for an hour and drive the diff into the sky and then no blocks will be found for weeks at a time again. It would be nice if Bitcedi could leverage XDN work to enable merge mining so hashrate is consistently high.

Be aware that you are giving away control of your funds while investing in Evolution scheme by Dyrk for future profits from his ventures. It is not similar to staking via stakepool where you have complete control of your funds. Also his pool already has more than 10% tickets which was deemed as a stopping point for registration by decred devs. If you invest in his project you will be making whole network more centralized making you decred less valuable in effect. I know that currently one PoW pool controls almost 45% of hashrate which is not ideal and more reason to keep PoS decentralized to keep pool operator honest. I urge the community to weigh pro and cons before investing in Dyrk's project.

Sam Smiley

coinmine.pl looks like 54% of the network right now: https://dcrstats.com/pow

And I think it was more like 75% when I checked a day or two ago.

Is the chain moving regularly now? Saw it got dumped to oblivion on cryptopia...

No it is broken to all hell. Nothing works best to stay away. I have some frozen betcedi in my wallets bank. A realy pity I really did enjoy this devs take on his coin. Nice way to earn interest and the fact that you had to deposit made it strategic and also helped the coin not get dumped and pumped too much since most of funds were locked in the bank.

Well, maybe we can hope that dev or someone else will merge the latest code from Ducknote and people will be able to merge mine XDN, fantomcoin, and bitcedi using an open source pool. Hopefully that would be enough to keep blocks coming...

BBR, aside from the optional 1% tax does not really have any baggage like that. Monero was very aggressively pumped at the start. They did not get their marketcap from anything good, they used a lot of offensive marketing to push their way up. If this were the early 20th century automobile industry that wouldn't matter but in the internet age Monero will probably get a lot of negative press when crypto goes more mainstream.

no-ice-please, I appreciate you bringing an outside perspective to the huntercoin thread, but I totally disagree with you here. What kind of offensive marketing are you referring to? I agree that it was pumped at the beginning, and iCEBREAKER is a douchebag, and maybe a few others, but I don't think there's any real concerted effort to market the coin at all, let alone offensively market it. And what do you mean the didn't get marketcap from anything good? Monero has the best database solution of all cryptonotes, BBR has none, and Monero has developed RingCT which will allow for non-zero mixin ring signatures, something that no other cryptonote has. No offense, but I don't think you know what the fuck you're talking about here.

Burmik123, not really, but check the other thread quoted below, it's at least more active.

Interesting. I'm surprised they aren't much higher percentage, since afaik they are the only ones with a public mergemine pool. Guess there must be some private pool merge miners.
1593  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] DigitalNote XDN - Block 317 950 HARDFORK. Merged mining. UPDATE your XDN! on: November 22, 2016, 03:03:50 PM
Excuse my ignorance --- it takes much longer time to mine one XDN, is it due to the hard fork?

Yes. The hardfork enabled merge mining, so now minergate is mining XDN with the entirety of their Monero hashrate, and probably collecting 99% of all XDN block rewards. Not sure how many Monero miners on minergate are requesting XDN or if it's automatically setup to reward them. There's no open source software for merge mining pools though, so I think at this point minergate just gets all the coins.

Almost three years old. And while it would be nice to see some updates from the person controlling this thread so that all the links on OP don't 404, everyone complaining is free to start their own thread, fork the repo, make a new website, and try to convince miners and exchanges to come use their updated version.

Yes, because forking a coin that's already forked from litecoin and pointlessly dumping it on an exchange always makes it a better coin.  Undecided

Use your forking brain for a change.

I meant fork the repo and advance the development yourself, not fork and start a whole new coin.

...the only responses I got was basically complaints and hurry up .

That might be a reasonable complaint for you if the coin weren't 2 years old.  Undecided

I'm going to try to fork zcoin to see if I can get it to work with verts algo after my semester is over . Won't be officially part of VTC or anything if it works . Poramin was saying it won't work because block height , I don't know if that's true though .

Cool. Would be neat if it was auxpow too. It would be like an anonymous sister coin. You could call it...zerovert...or something Tongue

Is mymonero.com webwallet anonymous?

Not nearly as much as running your own node (over tor).

screw that chatgroup, dont feel like making one anymore

lol there's still some dummies like me lurking in #vertcoin on freenode, you can always come chat (or speak into the void) there.

Anyone tried it yet?

Nope, you spotted that pretty quickly tho...

I guess it just seems rushed since you broke all the exchanges and non-minergate pools...
