Just bought a small amount of BLC, let's see how this goes. ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) Thanks for listing Blakecoin - BLC ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif)

Holly Crap, I just did a "listcpuminers" command too see how many guys are cpu mining, it is showing 406 CPU miners on Gridcoin. I thought we only had a handful.

The GRC/USD seems to be doing well on c-cex.com ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) The orderbook is pretty thin too, but I suppose most people want to transact in Bitcoin, seems the dollar is becoming unfashionable. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FxUGqlqr.png&t=663&c=Nl9bS795QVWCAg)

Linux client is now ready for Gridcoin. Ripple is premined and centralized. Not good. Let me know of any other coin that has a mining module like Gridcoin has? This is what true innovation and development is all about.
Boinc Processing for Team Gridcoin! This Graph will only keep going up and up!!!
I am doing something similar with RippleLabs and BOINC. You just have to install BOINC on your PC, and join Ripplelabs Team WorldCommunityGrid.org - and RippleLabs gives you Ripples in exchange for your CPU time. I average about the equivalent of 0.25 LTC per week with a computer that I solely use to mine Scrypt coins with GPUs ( (CPU is almost never used when you mine with GPUs). Those results are with a max of 50% CPU power going to BOINC. Not much, but I have to keep the PC on anyways - why not make an extra $1 per day with it, to help pay for the electric bill, while helping a good cause? EDIT: The only problem that I can see with Gridcoin at the moment; no support for Mac or Linux. ![Cry](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cry.gif) and all my mining rigs are Linux.

I agree. I think that video is not necessary. Can grid please get rid of the: Gridcoin introduction - Newsflash video link here. It makes gridcoin seem like a scamcoin. ![Cry](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cry.gif) Thanks. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2Frcvwm9J.png&t=663&c=Q6BqOJYO5_BP8w)

I think Rob can answer that one. is there any maximum limitation on the amount of transfer. one guy did 2 times transfer, 1st time 100k and 2nd time 40k, but only the 2nd time is confirmed and the 1st time is still with a question mark right now. he is using the latest version and without syn. problem and tried to rebuild chain for several times.

Today I tried CPU mining for the first time and it worked great. The client sent out 2 beacons and after about 1 hour I started getting small payments. I was donating to the Rosetta@home project. Usually I GPU mine, but today I decided to try CPU and I am impressed.

When i do send 2 or 3 times in a short time I get asked to pay fee. It seems it is related to the frequency of transactions. I'v asked this before but nobody answered ![Undecided](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/undecided.gif) There is no mandatory fee hardcoded in gridcoin wallet, so this can cause a microtransaction flood in the blockchain ?

Unless the person you sent it to sends it back, you are out of luck.

gridcoin.conf should be users/"computer name"/appdata/roaming/gridcoin Thanks. I'm not sure the cgminer.congf file is in the right place (program files(86)\gridcoin folder) and maybe wasn't having any effect. I have already got the intensity at 13 despite what the conf file says in my earlier post (which is why I think the cgminer.conf is doing nothing).
Have we reached the difficulty point where it is better to switch to GPU pool mining? And I assume that because I have to find a block to start participating in the pool (once pool mining=true is in gridcoin.conf) then I could still have a long wait?

I tested the exchange with Doge and Grc(Gridcoin) and so far everything worked really well. Very stable so far. I hope doge community does not cause too much load! WOW!!! Great!!! Here starts the next level for Doge. No more BTC dependancy..

I just checked the difficulty, it is at 7+, so with difficulty rising it will take longer and longer to find a block. my GPU hash rate is around 420-450 k/hs

What is your hashrate for GPU mining? Asdlolciterquit: thanks for the link. I'm sure it will be useful when I come to tune my card. To your other question, my GPU setup just has 1 project, Docking@home. My CPU mining is successful on my laptop with 3 projects but I don't think increasing the number if projects on my desktop will affect this. Can anyone shed some light on why I have gone 48hrs without mining a block? Is it my config file(s) or does my card have too low a hash rate to expect a return in that time period (see post above)?
Edit: I'm pretty sure it's not my hash rate unless I've been particularly unlucky

Cryptocurrencies may be a revolutionary idea, but the blind greed of humanity can crush even the most revolutionary ideas. People today just want to get stinking rich. People want to live like movie stars. Bitcoin may be a revolutionary idea, but we still don't know who will win, Bitcoin or greed. I believe that this is the most visited forum on this site. Killing the alt sections can likely kill this website.
Exactly who cares about BTC anymore... Bitcoins have become too expensive. Most people aren't into cryptocurrencies because they think it's the future. They're into them because they think they'll make money. The BTC boat has sailed- there is still room for growth, in fact quite a bit- but most people are looking into altcoins to make the money they could have made as early adopters of Bitcoins. This is exactly what is wrong with people who mine and deal with these crapcoins. Cryptocurrencies are meant to be a revolutionary idea as a currency, not a get rich quick scheme. How are Bitcoins too expensive? You can but $10 worth of Bitcoin if you want. You don't need a whole one. Do you really need millions of worthless shitcoins? And how is it too late to get into Bitcoins? If Bitcoin becomes even semi-mainstream those who buy Bitcoins today will probably become pretty well off.
