Always self preserve. Your security is paramount and is best protected by avoiding any unnecessary attention to yourself. That being said, if you already drive an expensive car, that in itself is already a potential target for thieves. Whatever means the money was made through doesn't matter to them, only how to convert it for themselves.

The website looks neat. I like the colour design and the general layout looks very easy to mavigate. The colour is good on the eyes.

As suggested, putting them into alphabetical order will make it easier to find, or better still list the most common ones first to catch the attention then others come alphabetical or by order of use.
163  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would you advise a friend in the same way? on: April 05, 2024, 10:20:18 AM
Cooperations function differently from how individual retail investors do. Without more information on the cost of production of the company, cashflow and whether or not it's privately or publicly owned you cannot give an advice on investments they can make.

You also cannot relate just any business with Microstrategy, they have different goals, cash flow, profit returns and investment targets.

As a rule of thumb, I do not advice anyone to invest in Bitcoin or in anything at all. I can only tell you the merits an demerits I have recognized and allow you make your decision.
164  Economy / Economics / Re: Does sound money have to be Private? on: April 04, 2024, 09:47:04 PM
but as bitcoin technology is advanced and secured it can also be used for doing hidden transaction or transactions that is made because of someone doing a crime
There are no hidden transactions. Everything is publicly accessible as it's a public ledger. On crime, that is not peculiar to Bitcoin and it's also not the most used for illegal transactions, not even close.
165  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are some major institutions investing heavily in bitcoins in 2024 ? on: April 04, 2024, 08:47:24 PM
And how is it going to impact the future prices for bitcoin according to you ?
Institutional investors can hold Bitcoin for much longer periods of time, bitcoins which could have otherwise increased sell pressure on the market or could have been dumped by panic sellers during dips in the market. The major benefit this has on Bitcoin is that bear curves will not be as steep as it used to be and recoveries between bull periods will start to have less and less dips between.
166  Economy / Economics / Re: Does sound money have to be Private? on: April 03, 2024, 08:59:33 PM
I think the creators of Bitcoin were trying to say that you can't have sound money if it is not Private. That is why they made it as private as they could make a public ledger.
I don't think the creator of Bitcoin was trying to define what sound money is. Satoshi was trying to solve the problem of third parties mediating and controlling transactions. Bitcoin bypassed that trust system which the banking system is built on and created a verification system.

There was no allusion to what sound money is or what it should be.

Check here for other P2P exchanges; https://kycnot.me/

It compiles and rates a list of exchanges (and other services) that do not require KYC from their users.

But for passwords, I like to rely on my memory though a paper backup doesn’t hurt. I only have a handful of passwords I use frequently.
Memory is very unreliable for storing passwords. The brain is an organ and like every organ its functioning level varies depending on factors like age, disease conditions, accidents etc. Committing something important to memory only means you're accepting that you can lose that information at anytime due to any of the above listed reasons.

Binance withdrawal fee was quite high during the peak of the ordinal spam which shot up withdrawal fees to above $20 worth of Bitcoin, it may have dropped now, I'm not certain, but it's unstable and can be ridiculously high sometimes.

Withdrawing in lumps is a fair option if you don't mind leaving your funds on binance. The sum of several smaller withdrawals should be higher than a single one time withdrawal even if it's done at a time when the fees are adjusted upwards.

I would be open to P2P exchanges too.
This would be the better option cause you receive the coins directly to your wallet. Some exchanges charge their service fee for mediating the transaction so you should do your research when choosing one.
170  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Seed phrase backup against natural disaster areas on: April 03, 2024, 01:54:30 PM
I have also seen a luxury watch online that was designed to save ones key phrases. I know it might sound very expensive because it actually is, it would not be easily missing incase such unpredictable disaster do happen.
It will be as susceptible to damage from a disaster and it's something that can be stolen from you for its value we with no knowledge that it holds a seedphrase. You should store somewhere or in something that can be easily overlooked.
171  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Seed phrase backup against natural disaster areas on: April 03, 2024, 10:37:44 AM
Two backups in two different locations will protect against natural disasters. The chances of a disaster striking in both places simultaneously is very low, if one gets destroyed you use the other backup to duplicate it.

You can try to back it up on disaster resistant materials, but the aftermath of a flood, fire or earthquake is unpredictable and there's no guarantee you will find the back up or be allowed to check for it.

If you're scared of keeping your backup in another location, include an additional passphrase and don't write that down with the other words.

<snip>
If the campaign is getting its results and the participants are delivering, that's not really a problem, new campaigns will emerge.

I was editing my last reply, but you were quicker to quote it, so I'll just add what I wanted to say here.
Many campaigns now already have something similar to what you suggested, where they give xx (a fixed number) amount of members a fixed reward as the best posters for the week. This has a definite approach and the campaign project can easily follow through.

Suggesting to the project that what they pay each week is not definite and changes based on who gets what amount of merit will be a hurdle.

I think the most important job for the manager is in the selection. Many of the users who apply have been in campaigns before anv how they posted there is still available on their profile, go through that and decide if the member is posting solely for the payment or offering quality to the forum. This way you don't have to keep judging their posts weekly, except it drops significantly in quality and effort.
174  Other / Meta / Re: Please Recover My account on: April 02, 2024, 10:04:52 AM
I had changed my Bitcointalk account password and saved in my Gmail account unfortunately I did not remember password
You should not store passwords, seedphrases or any other delicate information electronically. Write them down and store then somewhere safely, they cannot be hacked that way or lost with your phone which you carry around.

New email address: <snip>
This is private information. You should create another email address and don't post that publicly.

Go to this thread and follow the instructions for accounts with lost passwords; Recovering hacked/lost accounts
175  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: In a discussion, you discuss! on: April 02, 2024, 09:58:47 AM
What I would do, if I were a campaign manager, would be to pay differently depending on if the post is merited or not. And to avoid merit exchanging I would put a requirement of being merited by at least 3 different members.
This will not stop merit exchange. I'm sure there are farms out there with more than ten members who can easily engineer merits on posts around the forum. It's also not a true test of quality and will drive some members to post outside their comfort zone if it doesn't get regular merits and can reduce the actual exposure the project is getting as everyone will be posting in the exact same boards.

Each post will be paid with X dollars.
Each post merited by at least 3 different accounts will be paid with Y dollars.
Each post merited by more than 10 people will be paid Z dollars.
Which time frame will it be calculated on? Merits are earned weeks after a post is made.
176  Economy / Economics / Re: How to reduce inflation. on: April 02, 2024, 04:57:05 AM
You're suggesting how an individual can reduce their expenses and save up more money from what they earn, not how a country can control inflation. If you save more money, invest some and cut down on expenses and liabilities, you will be able to grow your asset base and survive inspite of inflation.

A country trying to control inflation will depend on what caused it. During the lockdown of 2020 there was a spending problem, countries were trying their utmost to improve spending through stimulus to increase the circulation of wealth
The great depression of 2008 preceded a period of boom when citizens were highly optimistic leading to greed, borrowing and investing was on the high, threatening a run on banks at the time, leading to th subsequent recession.

I'm oversimplifying both situations here to show that each situation differs and should be handled differently.
177  Other / Meta / Re: Can a moderator be wrong? on: April 01, 2024, 08:17:09 PM
Moderators are human and can be wrong on a handful of occasions, does not happen often. Mods also have better understanding of the rules than most of the forum members so they're right on most cases.

The mods are quite busy with their tasks on the forum, it might not be worth it to take them on on one isolated incident. If a mod is suspected to be making multiple bad calls then sure, you should challenge it, but one incident that is not a clear cut error (the mod is likely right here), is not worth its own thread.
178  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Can or should you close and reopen binance account? on: April 01, 2024, 05:08:26 PM
If you are in a country where all income is taxes, you will be required to submit information on all funds you receive when filling your tax report. Whether or not Binance requires it, or you trade P2P through a friend, you should keep a record of the transactions for when you're filing your tax.
179  Other / Meta / Re: [TELEGRAM] Yet Another BitcoinTalk Notification BOT (merits, mentions, topics,+) on: April 01, 2024, 04:14:09 AM

Well played.

But does the telegram bot actually notify members that get banned when they are? It's publicly available information.
180  Other / Meta / Re: Adjustments to Merit calculation on: April 01, 2024, 04:09:56 AM
Boo you all who have the prank away from the first page. It would have been fun to see members struggling to read as much as possible to get yeir merits up. They'll have also been scared to post and lose some of those merits. Would have been the first time some did some actual reading (or maybe just jumping from page to page).
