261  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A little ignorance and you can lose all your holdings on: February 16, 2024, 06:19:37 PM
cyrpto currency by nature is so easy to steal if someone has access to the right things,
This is like saying your house by nature is easy to break into if you give someone the keys. That is not the nature of Bitcoin, it just means if you give up what signifies access to something, you've handed over that access to someone else.
262  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Verifying a supposed Crypto site on: February 15, 2024, 08:05:49 PM
This looks like a classic scam site. Is there any clear ways to determine if this site is BS? It appears scammy to me.
I do the complete opposite. When I come across something for the first time I immediately think scam and categorize it as such, I now need to convince myself otherwise based on certain criteria depending on what platform it is, if it doesn't convince me at least uk to 90%, I still categorize it as a scam.

In this case this website has little to no online visibility despite being registered 2 decades ago, the domain name also looks like something that was simply thrown together. A scam in my opinion.
263  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is the Best Option: Because of Dollar Rate Cost of Living is on the Peak on: February 15, 2024, 07:33:16 PM
In my own understanding if bitcoin is adopted as a legal tender in my country the cost of living will reduce.
Bitcoin can do nothing to reduce the cost of living, it's a digital currency which as you described is decentralized and a good store of value. Economies of nations are more complex than simply waving a magic wand and fixing it just like that, there needs to be good fiscal policies put in place and time allowed for growth.

On a side note, high cost of living is not always telling of a poor economy. There are countries with thriving economies but a very high cost of living.
264  Economy / Economics / Re: Economy pressure on: February 15, 2024, 07:08:41 PM
I would assume you are a Nigerian due to the communication style and you're referrn to the current inflation and economic situation in the country. It is a fire situation, with each day the naira losses value against global currencies, leading to higher cost of goods and services and little to no local production to boost exports.

How can a family man who earns 50k with 3 kids and also paying for rent feeds and many more, how can he with stand this economy pressure where there is no stability no mouthwatering salaries at all. This days we wake up and pray things should get better but it's like our country does not accept prayers everyday increments.
Twenty years ago, such a family would have been in the middle class of society, but today they are in extreme poverty and the middle class has been all but eroded.

On the "how", I would suggest entrepreneurship. White collar jobs have fixed payments which do not increase to accommodate inflation, but selling a service or goods allows you flexibility to adjust prices as the economy changes.
265  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will this stack make me a USD millionaire? on: February 14, 2024, 08:53:50 PM
How much BTC and ETH would you think you need, in order to have a FUTURE (next years?)
This depends on where you're living in the world. Economies are different, so retirement funds across different countries with different costs of living would surely be different.

1 million allocation to crypto's bluechips BTC and ETH while keeping the ratio 1:10, meaning 1 BTC and 10 ETH, 2 BTC and 20 ETH and so on
That's almost a ratio of 1:2 in terms of USD value. A true ratio of 1:10 in USD value would be 1BTC to 2 ETH.
266  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Asking Questions And Avoiding Penalties- Tips For New Members on: February 14, 2024, 10:52:50 AM
I think that the OP knows the reason for his first block but is being disingenuous and therefore does not show us the account that was banned.
This looks like a case of a proxyban due to evil IP, which is no fault of the OP and doesn't make them disingenuous at all. The proxyban system is long overdue for an adjustment imo, as it no longer serves it purpose.

One of the questions is concerning copying and pasting from a browser, new sites, social media or any source. Though, I’ve read through the rules and seen that copy paste isn’t allowed, the question now is what if one is to read through the information provided by any of the above mentioned  and in such formulate your wordings, will there still be need to reference the link from which the information was gotten?
Every information we have now is a product of what we have read, listened to or watched in the past, so every post here is us putting content in our own words. You are good if you do this. Something as simple as reading about something on a different website, closing it and then proceeding to write on it here on the forum would give you markedly different sentences and not count as plagiarism.

In cases of news headlines it's ideal to quote the source, but in general knowledge situations, not so much so.

As a newbie I would also like to know if asking questions back to back based on the fact that I haven’t known all yet, wouldn’t cause a penalty of restriction from the forum or a closed account entirely .
Feel free to ask as much questions as you want.
Just don't make two consecutive replies on a thread, beyond this, ask away.
267  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitrue - good exchange? on: February 14, 2024, 10:44:31 AM
There have been a couple of scam accusations against Bitrue so I'll not touch the exchange even with a long stick. Exchanges that are relatively unknown should be avoided except they have proven to have a good enough reputation, this is because those exchanges can commit scams in isolated cases and it would go unnoticed by most.

What I do when researching on an exchange or platform is to search on he forum with the name of the exchange followed by 'scam'. It brings up everywhere it has been associated with a scam.
268  Economy / Speculation / Re: Hey! it's $50k today. on: February 12, 2024, 08:34:42 PM
Since 2021 we did not have that value, now let's see if we have a new "floor" to sustain,
It really seemed like we have seen this price range much earlier than that.

I think we have two or three more resistance levels before we hit the next ATH, which might come before the halving happens
269  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Do Kwon arrested on: February 12, 2024, 08:11:26 PM
When you see how various criminals pass in front of the US judiciary, you are not surprised that Do Kwon obviously wants to avoid being extradited to South Korea at all costs.
In my assumption, the U.S tends to not handle financial crime cases the way it is handled in some Asian countries. For the United States they look for the best possible scenario, so being able to get Intel on many others involved in the crime or similar ones at the expense of a lighter sentence for the convicted criminal is an easy deal.

Some other countries see the prosecutions as a deterrent to others and want to make a public show of the punishments, which should be as stringent as possible.
270  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why we need to stay vigilant on: February 12, 2024, 06:11:38 PM
We have seen harsh regulatory policies on crypto service providers and most of them have tried to comply which makes me feel issues like this that could affect the growth and reputation of the crypto industry should be taking seriously rather than just issuing warning.
A clone of a website is a common scam not directly related to the crypto industry, so should not affect the reputation of the industry. There have been clones of government and banking websites which defrauded users, but did not call into question the integrity of those institutions.

I agree that it doesn't make much sense issuing a warning to scammers. Reporting the websites and tracking the bank accounts linked to then seems like a better approach that government agencies should take.
271  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Excessive Bitcoin fees on: February 12, 2024, 05:51:18 PM
Fees have dropped earlier today to the lowest range we have seen in the recent months and the mempool is not as clogged as it was. No current situation suggests that rising fees would make it impossible for regular people to transact, this would be a problem for several decades down the line when mining rewards is majorly transaction fees and miners need to charge an amount that would cover their cost of mining.

There are several solutions that exists to fix the fees problem and more would be implemented down the road. One of them is off chain transations, this should become more popular and attract more users, taking much of the load off on-chain transactions.
272  Economy / Exchanges / Re: cannot convert my ltc to usdt on: February 11, 2024, 07:48:52 PM
If I send that ltc to another exchange will I have the same problem?
What's the withdrawal fee on mexc exchange? If there is a withdrawal fee, then it would cut into your already little find making it more difficult to convert that on any other exchange you plan to send it to.

My advice would be to leave it there until you can add some more to it to scale the minimum withdrawal fee.
273  Economy / Speculation / Re: Going against the grain. on: February 11, 2024, 07:38:55 PM
It's that time of the season again, where we gets lots of advice and questions about the direction the market is going.

It's a given when all the internet bobble heads get excited is a good time to sell some. When anything rises fast it comes back down almost every time.
There are so many other facets to consider as a trader or investor. A long term investor would not try to take profits at every opportunity that presents itself, but a more consistent trader can. Also, some investors already have a price target which they have locked in on and do not plan to sell before then.
274  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: How is data integrity ensured on the bitcoin network on: February 11, 2024, 07:18:19 PM
According to my study and previous question, I was made to understand that blocks and transactions are not encrypted on the blockchain. If this is so, Is it possible or allowed to make changes to a block when transactions are included during confirmation or validation?
Not being encrypted means that the public can read the information, making it a public server. This does not mean that the public can alter the data which is stored on it.
275  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Understanding the basics in Bitcoin before investing on: February 11, 2024, 02:34:13 PM
to clarify
blocks do not need to include transactions (see "empty blocks" examples) however no one can consider a transaction as confirmed unless its seen inside a block
You're right. When you break it down into nuances, there are situations when blocks do not include transactions, but those happen very uncommonly and far between.
276  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Understanding the basics in Bitcoin before investing on: February 11, 2024, 02:05:51 PM
Bitcoin is a form of digital currency that uses blockchain technology to support transactions between users on a decentralized network.
New Bitcoins are created as part of the mining process, as a reward to people whose computer systems help validate transactions.
• Bitcoin does not use blockchain to support transactions. Transactions are what makes up each block which is joined with the rest to form a chain.

• Miners do not validate transaction, they confirm them by solving the cryptographic puzzle and make their candidate block the next confirmed block.

Buying Bitcoin exposes you to a volatile asset class.
Every asset has a certain level of volatility.
277  Other / Meta / Re: About the post count on: February 10, 2024, 09:39:30 PM
You can earn max 1 activity point daily. 1 written post brings 1 activity point, and everything is calculated for 14 days.
Potentially, a user can earn more than 1 activity point per day. If you make 6 posts in one day within an activity period you earn 6 activity points, but as you pointed out it is a maximum of 14 points in 14 days. The only outlier is when a new user opens an account close to the end of one activity period and can earn 28 points within the next 14 days + the number of days left for the activity period they joined in.
278  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will it have positive/negative on bitcoin development? on: February 10, 2024, 09:12:54 PM
There is a forum thread where you can get unbiased updates from forum members. Craig Wright has been going on for years with his baseless arguments that he is satoshi and he invented Bitcoin. He has not been able to provide any single evidence to back up his claim for a network that is public.
Hopefully at the end of this case he is restrained from making the claims that he is satoshi or that he created Bitcoin.

If more than 51% doesn't accept any update, it would just be noise.
He could try to use a legal injunction to get the devs to Grant him access to the bitcoins that are suggested to be owned by Satoshi. I don't think he would succeed would that even if the court accepts his claim.
279  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Isn’t it better late than sorry? on: February 10, 2024, 07:46:34 PM
Truths be told, when I saw 50-100years rating for enjoyment of your investment, it seemed a bit too far, maybe it actually is as it hot me thinking about my lifespan. I get the fact that having to invest isn’t always centered on you alone but still, I would like to enjoy a large part of my investment and not have to put in all the work and not enjoy most of it.
Almost all of us here on the forum would not be anymore at that time, it's a ridiculously long time away. I wasn't suggesting you wait a century before you profit from your investments, rather I was suggesting you soon out and realize that if you factor in how much longer Bitcoin would exist, you are still among the early adopters now.
If you focus on the now, it looks like you've missed the train, but it's just getting started.

Fun fact; if you hold your bitcoins long enough and accumulate enough, you'll only need a tiny percentage of it to "enjoy your investment".
280  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Isn’t it better late than sorry? on: February 07, 2024, 07:23:16 PM
You are still early. In 50-100 years, those who were able to get on it with thin the first 20 years would be viewed to have been extremely lucky to have caught on so quickly. From 2017 people have been complaining about being late to Bitcoin rather than taking advantage of the opportunity they had.

There are over 8 billion in the world and way less than1% of that are interested in bitcoin, owning some. You can still be part of the less than 1%.
