Any old JDM from the early 70's.

My avatar is a Hakosuka. That's a tight ride.

Because it is more like a classified ad system, users will be able to decide on their categories, but in order to keep the market place clean, we are looking at ways to give people incentive for administering the system. Ways in which we could do this, is to allocate a certain portion of the market place listing fees to those voting on the listings.

Very creative thinking! Sorta like our own Augur system within Shadow. So rewarding those that answer correctly (vetted by consensus)?

And stable coins BLOW PEOPLE'S MINDS  Tongue

They have no idea what to do with consistency.

If a coin doesn't start it's life in a 5 person vacuum, start trading with Mt Kilimanjaro and then die off like the Bonneville salt flats everybody in crypto world are like

Hopefully the exchanges have already updated their binaries Smiley

I let Lindsey(?) on Cryptsy know about the imminent hard fork last week...
Don't know if it matters seeing as their wallet is in perpetual maintenance mode but whatever...

I think your reward scheme is fucking retarded.  100?  hahah
My reasoning, just because.

I also own 1.5% and I will happily dump the shit on the floor and move on the instant i'm not having fun with it again.
Current litedoge, fun.  Your litedoge, is someother fucking coin.  Go play with someother fucking coin.

I spit my coffee out all over my computer while reading this! Thanks!

I want to have fun with litedoge too! Where do you go to have fun with it?
169  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Shadowcash vs. Monero, an unbiased debate. on: October 12, 2015, 01:59:52 PM
I don't know about the SDC launch, I wasn't there.

The SDC distribution process of 100% of the supply going out in two weeks is terrible.

The Monero launch was fair, and the distribution process of 85% of the base supply going out in 4 years, with a 0.3 XMR (0.9%) disinflationary perpetual reward after about 8 years is a bit fast, but defensible.

Technology-wise they are somewhat comparable as the SDC anonymity scheme is based heavily on cryptonote. The SDC code base is largely based on Bitcoin, via Blackcoin or some other path of forking (I'm not sure of the details), so part of it is more mature than Monero, although the anon part is newly implemented and probably less mature.

The cryptonote alleged improvements on Bitcoin that aren't anon-related such as dynamic blocks sizes are not present in SDC, so that would be a point for Monero if you think those are good.

That SDC has an integrated non-anon portion of the chain could be viewed as a privacy negative since it will pull some of the transactions out of the anonymity set. Monero is going in the other direction pushing all transactions into the anonymity set, although that isn't implemented yet, so Monero also has a non-anon portion of its chain currently.

EDIT: I agree with fluffypony's later point that proof of stake is cryptographically unproven and likely unsound and unfixable.

Is SDC anon feature decentralized?

Yes.

I just updated my wallet, and now I have only 4 connections. Does this mean the majority of the network hasnt upgraded yet?

ATM ~ half the nodes have upgraded and half are still on old distro. http://shadow.blockexplorer.cc/nodes/

ShadowCore is an HTML Cryptobrowser and a secure platform through which the cryptocurrency, ShadowCash, can be transferred. One of the significant advantages of ShadowCore is its deep integration with the rest of Shadow’s features as well as offering native TOR support for IP obfuscation.

I didn't realize TOR was native in Core. Anything special we need to do to access .onion sites or is there a Quick Start Guide to using this browsing feature?

I don't think it can access websites natively. To use the native TOR support, I'm fairly certain you just enter the TOR proxy address as a SOCKS proxy in the Options.

Correct.. you enter your TOR Proxy Address into the SOCKS Proxy in Options for GUI or run the daemon with "-proxy=127.0.0.1:9050".
Same as Bitcoin as this functionality comes from there.

Ah, thanks guys.

Seriously??? there is no way!  Not that low!  What are you thinking???

Why not? I'm thinking about a viable coin that can be used for micro transactions, tipping, gaming, fun...  All kinds of applications.

My logic is this:
  • Reduce daily emissions to allow market pricing to be achieved. Currently too many are being generated per day and the market has been at a stalemate (1-2sats) for nearly 6 months!
  • A viable tipping coin needs to be easy to give away but harder to earn. It's far too easy to earn LDOGE atm and harder to give them away. We need to flip that.
  • 10 Billion coins is plenty for a foundation. Then a reasonable daily emission encourages generosity among the community but also a level of investment opporitunity. At the rate we're at now the only perk to owning LDOGE is to 1. feel like a millionare (1M coins), 2. Double up investment (buy at 1 sat and sell at 2 sat.
  • Dogecoin has a 10,000 coin block reward. The coin has been around for 2-3 years and it has too many coins. Price stalled, etc.. Instead of racing to catch up with their crazy Total Coin Supply (100Billion) I think a coin will have a larger impact with minimal rewards and a purpose. It can't be to emulate DOGE in every way.
  • 100 LDOGE per block (ultimate goal) is similar to a PoW coin reward. This will still give 135k coins/day but also make stakers think twice about selling right away. It's been proven with coin experiments time and again if you make the reward worthwhile to point your computer towards it but not outlandish where distribution gets discombobulated and top heavy then the chances of survival and community participation increases.
  • I own 1.5% of total supply but I think that's too much. Selfishly I'd like to see the max supply level off around 10M within 1 year's time so the price will rise and I can sell some of my supply down to 1% (my typical investment in a coin project I like). Most of my supply is from staking, I'm not selling for 2 sat and I don't want to hold 1.5% (or even more if I keep my computer on) for another year. Just being honest.

PROPOSED COVER FOR THE SECOND "ALT-ERNATIVE" BOOK

It has been decided that each of the 50 cryptos and assets will have 6 pages each.  As a result, more information will be included (especially about their respective block rewards through time.

So.. PIGGY would be on the back cover?  ^oo^

Not necessarily.  Coins will be ranked according to market cap on a particular day.  The top 30 get onto the front cover.

I am thinking we should do a hard fork and remove all the staking interest, make it stake at 888 or 900 coins each time and leave it at that, no more monthly reducing of interest over a long period of time. This hyperinflation of stake interest is keeping this coin's value down. I see this coin being at least 100 or 200 sat each. But the hyperinflation staking interest needs to be removed. Who agrees with me?

I do..

1st we need to finalise the current wallet upgrade (no fork required).

2nd if we fork, I suggest no block time change (too risky) but reduce the rewards as follows:

Currently at block 261,667

Block 235,000 — 279,999: 24,000 LiteDoge Reward

Block 280,000 — 324,999: 18,000 LiteDoge Reward

Block 325,000 — 369,999: 14,000 LiteDoge Reward

Block 370,000 — 414,999: 10,000 LiteDoge Reward

Block 415,000 — 459,999: 8,000 LiteDoge Reward

Block 460,000 — 504,999: 6,000 LiteDoge Reward

Block 505,000 — 549,999: 4,000 LiteDoge Reward

Block 550,000 — 594,999: 3,000 LiteDoge Reward

Block 595,000 — 639,999: 2,000 LiteDoge Reward

Block 640,000 — +          : 1,000 LiteDoge Reward (low to ensure future of coin)

With 8 BILLION + of these dogies out in the wild I propose a more drastic completion to these hefty block rewards.

Block 235,000 — 279,999: 24,000 LiteDoge Reward

Block 280,000 — 324,999: 12,000 LiteDoge Reward

Block 325,000 — 369,999: 6,000 LiteDoge Reward

Block 370,000 — 414,999: 3,000 LiteDoge Reward

Block 415,000 — 459,999: 1,500 LiteDoge Reward

Block 460,000 — 504,999: 750 LiteDoge Reward

Block 505,000 — 549,999: 500 LiteDoge Reward

Block 550,000 — 594,999: 300 LiteDoge Reward

Block 595,000 — 639,999: 200 LiteDoge Reward

Block 640,000 — +          : 100 LiteDoge Reward (low to ensure future of coin)

The analysis of this distribution can be found here: http://pastebin.com/SncTpzQM

Essentially, This would add 25% more coins (~2.1 Billion) to the current supply over 46 days.
Then roughly 135,000 coins would be minted everyday for a slowly reducing inflation rate starting @ %.001

My math might be off but I think it's right.
I think for a tipping coin we need to get a reasonable amount of coins in the wild per day (135,000) and get to that number as fast as possible (46 days).
Only then will the markets, community and World react.

EDIT:
My math was off, my apologies.

With the above timeline I propose it would still take 280 days to generate the 25% more coins (~2.1 Billion) and settle into the 100 LDOGE block reward.
Even more reason to get more aggressive with the reward structure!  Shocked

- I've always found 6 million coins a much better distribution than 20 million... especially for Proof of Stake coins. I don't know why the choice was made to go from 20 to 6 but, as an investor, I like the decision. I've done the research, vetted it, and nobody is going to change my mind.

- We've already discussed if Proof of Stake becomes a corrupt/broken method of securing/ rewarding the network that the coin can go back to Proof of Work but that is a whole different topic. It can be done but has never been done by anyone to date. Many have gone PoW -> PoS, but not the reverse. If that was the case, another wrinkle to the coding of that would be to increase the coin supply. I'm not going to go into the headache of this, but more attractive rewards will be needed to entice miners to the coin for the PoW network securing.

- I donated for the peer review and I have no regrets or OCD that it hasn't been completed. More documentation is needed, maybe that is something some of us can gather for the team?!? I'm sure.

- Crypto investing is a personal battlefield in our hearts. For once we're all in control of our financial reward options and we all get emotional when we talk about our monies. Some of us have doubts with investing in some projects, some of us have peace with the due diligence we've performed on some projects. Both are fine, neither are wrong.

- Forcing one's beliefs on someone else isn't cool. And it's my choice to not listen.
180  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [SDC] ShadowCash Speculation. on: October 02, 2015, 05:30:10 PM
Hey ShadowCash peoples: some big names in the Monero community have always respected you, and as one of the other big anonymous coins out there we hope that you will eventually migrate your talent and work over to our Monero project.

I humbly feel we have a more fair launch than you and more room to grow.

Don't take that the wrong way though: Shadowcash has been a great project with a lot of hard work put into it, and I've always been impressed by your marketing and ambition.

I just hope you will come over and develop Cryptonote apps with us: I think if we combine our efforts we can overtake bitcoin itself (and then onto various moons).

Are you suggesting to merge the blockchains i.e. every SDC would be converted to x * XMR, or are you suggesting SDC holders would just eat the losses and buy XMR from you?

I'm assuming AmericanPegasus was hoping SDC's leading talent would jump over and support XMR. Unlikely, but a genuine plea.
I do know that members of both teams are peers IRL.
