161  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple, Developer Behind XRP Ledger, Enters Stablecoin Fray vs. Tether, USDC on: April 08, 2024, 01:08:53 AM
It's not just the ETH blockchain from what the article says they will be on the XRP chain too.
I can see that working for them due to fact that a lot of people have one or the other. Not sure how many users have both, so it might get their stablecoin in more hands.
As to it being NEEDED, do we really need another stable coin? I just don't see it.

-Dave

They won't stop, soon crypto will lose its meaning as stable coins take over everything unless, someone does something to stop this mad shit. There are 2 stable coins in the list of 10 biggest coins by market cap on CMC. (USDT and USDC) and I believe BUSD (binance USD) was there too before binance decided to shut it down (which was very good news, thanks to the SEC I guess)

XRP itself is shady as fuck, and why would anyone get any of their filthy product is beyond my understanding. Is XRP even crypto? Wasn't it a premined centralized database?

And you say it will be available on the XRP chain, mind blowning. Scamscamscam

I very much disagree because stablecoins are not the cryptocoins that represent the whole cryptospace. Also, if that is your argument on crypto losing its meaning, I reckon that there might be a more dangerous example of this. The bitcoin spot ETF and the new mayor of bitcoin might be the one to make everyone witness that crypto is losing its meaning. It will not be anymore living under the principles from which it was created and developed. It will be more about the market and speculation.
162  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul to Fight Mike Tyson in Live Netflix Boxing Event - July 20 on: April 07, 2024, 04:36:05 AM
This is the latest interview of Mike Tyson regarding his fight,

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t3xInUaRVhY

And he said that this is a real fight, he said that he is scared to death fighting, but he puts it like something that he uses this as motivation, his fear. Yeah, we might find it weird, but there are individuals who thrive in this kind of fear environment.

He is very much different from the younger Tyson that the older fans have witnessed where he will say during interviews that he will eat the babies of his opponents hehehe. This was his young self who was trying to avoid the fear before the fight. Also, there was another fear that he was mentioned in an interview with Joe Rogan. He said that he is also scared of letting out his animal self. He does not want to be this person that his original trainer Cus D'amato put inside of him. He was trained to become something similar to a killer.

A throwback video of Mike Tyson has emerged. Tyson is seen throwing vicious combinations under the tutelage of legendary trainer Cus D’Amato. Cus, considered by Tyson as a father figure, was instrumental in ‘Iron’ Mike’s career. Tyson, renowned for his insane power and combinations, is set to make a return after nearly 15 years out.

"I was petrified when I was alone with him. If he called me – ‘Mike, I need to talk to you’ – I didn’t feel good going over to him. That’s when he’d start giving me his detailed criticisms of my fights. My knockout ability is through Cus D’Amato telling me repetitiously over and over again to do this movement and to punch with this type of bad intentions. And just to have ferociousness and mean intentions whenever you throw punches and stuff. And try and punch through your opponent, not at him. It was some nasty stuff that I would never tell my kids to do”. Said Mike Tyson to Gq magazine.

Mike Tyson today is apparently a calmer and more human person, nothing like that Mike of the past, has age and life experience done him any good?

Generally, when time passes, people start to value other things, they start to think about a better future, being a better person... It seems that Mike went down that path... That's good.

Yes, is not the young Mike Tyson anymore, however, in his interview with Joe Rogan he implied that if he trains in boxing seriously, this bad person in him who wants to eat his opponents babies will come out. He was also telling Joe Rogan that there might be something wrong with him because in the boxing ring he said that his penis becomes hard if he is punching his opponents. This might imply that there is too much testosterone in his body because he might be using steroids or a psychological disorder. I wish we witness the bad person come out against Jake Paul heheehhe.
163  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Two Kucoin Founders accused of violating anti-laundering laws etc. on: April 07, 2024, 03:54:13 AM
This is actually an indication of not using centralised exchanges. Because that's how exchanges anytime would collapse. They have to deal with different kinds of funds, so accusing an exchange for money laundering is pretty easy. However, though Kucoin said funds are safe and do not impact exchanges, there is still risk. I have actually withdrawn all the funds from Kucoin. I'm not going to use any big funds on Kucoin anymore until they fix everything normal.

I very much agree! Use DeFi if you want to trade or swap cryptocoins and tokens.

On the question if Kucoin will collapse or not, I speculate that it might occur very much similar to Binance where they are forced by regulators in each jurisdiction to cooperate. Also if their founders will become targets of the American government, they might also be forced to pay a large settlement fee hehehe. However, this is not like a similar case to CZ and Binance. CZ has only become a target because he was the trigger on FTX's collapse. Kucoin might pay only a small fee heheheeh.
164  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Devin Haney vs Ryan Garcia on April 20 on: April 06, 2024, 04:19:52 AM
This is not about Pitbull being afraid. This is about Pitbull challenging Ryan Garcia, however, what is this challenge about? Is this about money and popularity? Ryan Garcia is not a champion hehehe. King Ry should be the boxer who is issuing these challenges but why is Pitbull treating King Ry like a champion? Pitbull should challenge Teofimo Lopez or Subriel Matías, I reckon.

In any case, on Haney vs. King Ry, I predict that this might not go to the decision. Haney is very much stronger in this higher weight division. King Ry with his mental instability might surrender before round 9.

I guess so, despite Ryan not anymore a champion but his popularity still stay. Every champion wants to fight him to gain more money and I'm sure the same thing happened in the mind of Pitbull. But before that will happen, maybe let's wait for the outcome of the fight (Garcia vs Haney), because if haney will win, what Pitbull wants might be given but if Ryan will wn, you know this guy would ask more and will challenge a fighter that could help him a bigger paycheck, I'm think Ryan vs Tank II, is it possible?

However, how long can King Ry stay very popular? I reckon after more losses, he will not be a good choice as an opponent for boxers who want to become big names in the sport.

On King Ry being a champion vs. Tank Davis 2, I agree! However, King Ry should not make a stupid agreement with a hustler like Tank Davis. Also King Ry will not win vs. Haney. It should be Devin Haney vs. Tank heheheh.
165  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Dana thought he lost $80k one night and his advice for gamblers on: April 06, 2024, 02:59:36 AM
@Rampagoe004. However, similar to what @Cointrader has mentioned, uncle Dana is a professional blackjack player. He earned the millions that he lost on the blackjack games he has played. This is not something similar to someone who took money from his company to lose everything in the casino hehehehe. If he is very good in blackjack, we can also be quite certain that he has earned back the money and earned more after this. You reckon he should support and donate to fighters from his blackjack earnings hehehehe?
166  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: SEC vs Coinbase on: April 06, 2024, 01:55:21 AM
@zasad@. On the rulers who are using their political connections to put their people into certain government positions is not a conspiracy theory. This is reality.

On uncle Gary's retirement on 2026 as SEC chairman, this is also not a conspiracy theory. His term will end on 2026. However, on Larry Fink on suggesting his candidate for uncle Gary's replacement, this is speculation. His candidate may or may not be chosen but we can be quite certain there will be rulers who will suggest their candidates hehehehe.
167  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple, Developer Behind XRP Ledger, Enters Stablecoin Fray vs. Tether, USDC on: April 06, 2024, 12:30:12 AM
“100% backed by USD” they said, if I know these fraudsters well and I know them well, it will be 1% backed by some seashells. I guess this is how they are planning to destroy crypto. They’ll create a massively inflated bubble first and they’ll also own the needle. (Unbacked stable coins) That way they can cut off the liquidity anytime they want, crash the markets and rip people off. Bitfinex already has been doing it with their unbacked usdt and now ripple says they’ll do it better and bigger.

I think all stable coins should be banned asap.

That is a headshaking statement from someone who has witnessed the development of the cryptospace since 2013.

No one can destroy crypto by creating a stablecoin to push big inflows of dollars in the cryptospace through a stablecoin. We can be quite certain that this will only create a bull market which will also create more hype which will will cause more people to enter and adopt the cryptospace.

On Ripple as an example, they cannot cut off the liquidity whenever they want because they are regulated, they do not hold all the stablecoins. Also, if they have a power off button to kill everything, why would they do this? Do they want to kill their own company?

@zasad@. Agreed that the rulers appoint their people in certain positions, however, it is also reality that the rulers also do not agree on certain things. What if the rulers that had the political connections to appoint uncle Gary are a bankers from Wall Street who want to protect their corporate interests? However, there is another ruler who was a bitcoin hater but has presently become the new mayor of bitcoin and who will later become the new mayor of Ethereum, who is forcing uncle Gary to sign the spot ETF approval causing bloody tears from his eyes hehehe?

I reckon after uncle Gary retires on 2026, his replacement will be someone suggested by Larry Fink. He will approve anything in the cryptospace with a smile hehehehehe. I predict that similar to the strangeness of the new all time high that occurred before the halving, the cryptospace market will not anymore have a 4 year cycle. It will be 6 years or longer.
170  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Ripple, Developer Behind XRP Ledger, Enters Stablecoin Fray vs. Tether, USDC on: April 05, 2024, 01:28:01 AM
Is the XRP army in the forum? It appears Ripple has a roadmap for 2 stablecoins, XRP and a dollar derivative hehehehe.

What we should learn from this news is Ripple's statement about their prediction on the stablecoin market. According to them this will grow from $150 billion to $2.8 trillion. I reckon if we will not become rich during this bull market, I am quite certain that we will have another chance on the next.

Brad Garlichouse CEO of Ripple, slayer of securities laws

Ripple, the enterprise-focused blockchain service and creator of the XRP Ledger, is introducing its own stablecoin pegged to the price of the U.S. dollar.

"The stablecoin market is over $150 billion today and is forecasted to exceed $2.8 trillion by 2028," Ripple said in a statement shared with CoinDesk. "There’s clear demand for stablecoins that deliver trust, stability and utility."

The company said the token, which it plans to release "later this year," will be "100% backed by U.S. dollar deposits, short-term U.S. government Treasuries and other cash equivalents." The stablecoin will be deployed onto Ripple's institution-focused XRP Ledger along with the Ethereum blockchain to start out, and it will be based on Ethereum's ERC-20 token standard.

171  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 Oscar Awards bets and discussions on: April 05, 2024, 12:39:31 AM
The amount of the bet has made this to be more serious and losing $1000 for this would certainly be painful if the escrow will not send the funds. Another suggestion would be to use the forum's trust system and ask one of the D2 members to be the referee if one of us does not pay the bet, however, I do not want to do this to you because you are betting $1000 against only $50. It is much easier for me to pay $50, I can give it to you right now as a donation but losing $1000 is very painful hehehehe.

In any case, if you want we use no escrow, no referees, however, we make the bet smaller. Your $300 and my $30 with no buy out.

@Rikafip you will be the witness hehehee.
If I publicly accept the bet, it implicitly implies that I play my account and my reputation along with the $1000. Even without a dedicated referee. And ofc I'm ok with that. It's an unwritten rule of Bitcointalk, if you don't respect an agreement made through the forum, you deserve to be tagged by any DT member. So of course, I took that into consideration when I said I was interested. I have no problem with that, referee or not. And I think the $500 buy out option is a fair safety against that if for some reasons I can't or don't want anymore risking $1000. But we need to agree how to use it. I can exercise it anytime till October? Or only during October month? The last day to use it would be October 31th 2024?

You can exercise the buy out option until the day before the awarding night on March 2025. I am not quite certain on the date, however, yes the day before the Oscar ceremony occurs. Also, if I am being honest with you, I am not feeling very comfortable for you on betting $1000 against $50. Are you sure about this? Have you seen the movie? It is quite good hehehehee.

In any case, if you want to propose to make this bet $500 against $50 with a buy out option of $250, I would accept this if you agree.
172  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Dana thought he lost $80k one night and his advice for gamblers on: April 04, 2024, 04:33:57 AM
Saying that "it's just $80K" shows that they really have all the money in the world and it's just a drop in the bucket, you know? I agree in some ways that if you get depressed, it's definitely not for you. You need to get checked because it's YOU who decided to gamble and YOU decided to risk an X amount of money. It's all part of the risk when you are gambling.

However, it is not just $80k that he has lost. Uncle Dana lost $3 million American dollars of his own money! If you watched the video, he drank too much alcohol and he cannot control himself. This also appears to have caused why he thought he only lost just $80k heheheeh. The alcohol caused him to forget $2.92 million hehe.

It also appears that uncle Dana has a problem with alcohol. He might also have forgotten his power slap on his wife's face after looking at her with a very red face next morning.

UFC president Dana White admitted on Monday to slapping his wife on New Year's Eve.

White acknowledged the incident while speaking with TMZ after video surfaced of White slapping a woman in the face. In the video obtained by TMZ, White is seen at a night club standing with a woman on a balcony. The woman is seen with her head in her hands before turning to slap White in the face. White then slaps the woman in the face before the situation appears to settle. The footage cuts off a few moments later.

173  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 Oscar Awards bets and discussions on: April 04, 2024, 03:56:57 AM
Ok but do you know how much will take an escrow for holding $1050 during one year? If he takes 10% of the funds it will cost $105. In addition we must be sure he won't leave the forum or getting ill during this year. The other issue to address is the price of BTC during this year. What we will do if it makes +100% or -50%? We will let the funds as they are or we will remove or complete the amount before the ceremony?

I will ask some of the campaign managers if they want to be our escrow for our bet. They are the most trustworthy people in this forum, I reckon. However, if we cannot find one we use the forum's trust system. It might be good to inform one of the D2 members to become the referee for this bet?

On bitcoin's volatility, if we can agree on an escrow we can use a stablecoin. I certainly want to use stablecoin where we can also have cheaper fees for this.
I am not against using a stablecoin, at least we wouldn't have to care about price volatility of the funds anymore. But we still have to find a workaround for the other issue, the one about the fees asked by the escrows for such service. Paying $20+ fees while risking $1000(if I lose or if the escrow disappears) for eventually winning $50 wouldn't be very interesting for me tbh.

174  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Article from Coindesk. Are Bitcoin Developers Losing Faith in Lightning? on: April 04, 2024, 02:47:11 AM
Without any technical jargon here  about LN, I think the devs have every reason to put this on halt because among the devs themselves there isn't unity and LN hasn't received the support/demand it was to receive which I think is among one of the main reasons devs could be losing faith in it.

Btw, on a forum like Bitcointalk were you expect to have users with the tech knowhow on LN and if we had to ask how many of us use it regularly... am pretty sure the numbers don't look good and on top of that service providers haven't implemented the tech yet, so really the devs decision is justified and worse off after 4 years this technology hasn't made its mark means it's lost its momentum or perhaps this was rushed and product wasn't perfected which makes it a work in progress , just my 2 cents.

There is a quote in the article from a bitcoin maximalist where he tells everyone about the reality of developing his project using Lightning technology. The quote is highlighted in yellow and he said his experience caused him to realize that the design of Lightning is a joke which implies that he had much difficulty on implementing it. This is not the fault of the user or the developers who want to adopt a technology. This is because the technology might not be something similar to the hype. I speculate that Barry Silbert might have noticed this and he might create a new project for scaling bitcoin.
175  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: SEC vs Coinbase on: April 04, 2024, 01:31:27 AM
@zasad@. Agreed in the argument of working for the big manipulators like the new mayor of bitcoin Larry Fink, however, this does not imply that likes working for them. He is being forced to approve certain things similar to the spot ETF for bitcoin. I reckon that it will be very much similar for the approval of the spot ETF for Ethereum hehehe. After causing months of delays he will be forced to sign the approval with tears in his eyes. We can be quite certain of this.

News update.

It appears that the Baltimore Ravens is very annoyed on their loss against the Chiefs in the AFC conference championship hehehe. They traded for a player who will certainly help Lamar if he is on the peak of his menstrual cycle hehe. There cannot be an explanation why he did not perform similar to many of the games in the regular season and the post season games before the AFC championship game.

However, Derrick Henry does not appear to be very happy for the trade in Baltimore.

Derrick Henry is bound for Baltimore, just as the two-time rushing champion expected this offseason. However, Henry admits that it could've been an ideal situation for him to stay home -- not in Tennessee, but rather in Dallas.

177  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Article from Coindesk. Are Bitcoin Developers Losing Faith in Lightning? on: April 03, 2024, 02:51:51 AM
It appears that the next storyline will be if Lightning Network has failed, what is the next roadmap for scaling bitcoin?

Coindesk is owned by the Digital Currency Group. This is founded by Barry Silbert. Barry Silbert was removed from his position in Grayscale. Barry might not be very busy anymore heheheh. The skeptical me thinks that Barry's next project might be something that he will declare to be bitcoin's best scaling solution.

Hailed for years as Bitcoin’s saving grace, the off-chain solution needed to finally make Satoshi Nakamoto’s “peer-to-peer digital cash” an actual functioning payments network, today appears to be losing faith.

Similarly, Joseph Poon, another co-author of the Lightning white paper, has seemingly become more interested in blockchain scaling solutions happening on other chains, like Ethereum’s Plasma. He is now working on a new type of decentralized exchange.

Other bitcoiners have raised concerns about Lightning’s many privacy issues and that the scaling solution often can be surprisingly expensive to use. In particular, they complain about the design of “inbound capacity” on Lightning, which limits the amount of BTC you can receive, so that users sometimes pay to receive funds (or, that payment is subsidized by startups).

The latest round of Bitcoin Lightning discourse appears to have been kicked off by longtime bitcoiner John Carvalho, who was once one of Lightning’s biggest champions until he tried building software solutions on top of it. His recent interview with Vlad Costea caught the ear after Carvalho derided the “complexity and fragility” of the protocol.

“Going through that experience has made me realize that the design is kind of a joke,” Carvalho said. “We can make it work. We can do our best, but all of the narratives that came with [Lightning] in the first couple years were really exaggerated.”

Indeed, it seems like there is a turning tide in sentiment around Bitcoin’s Lightning Network, which has been hyped as a potential replacement for Visa’s payment rails and the spur that will bring about “hyperbitcoinization.”

@boyptc. It was only shown by the biased woke mainstream fakenews media that everyone hated Trump, however, how can everyone explain his electoral victory during his first campaign to run as president? It would be impossible to win the presidency if everyone hates a certain candidate. Also, how can everyone explain why Trump is presently listed as the favorite by the sportsbooks? There are people who hate Trump but there certainly are people who also love Trump.

@Rikafip Yes, I overestimated Barbara Fried's power and her connections with the democratic party and the American government. However, it appears that she has done her best in giving her son the shortest prison sentence. Also, you are correct. No judge would give Sam an acquittal. This would cause skepticism on the fairness and the honest of the case. They need to create a show that the American justice system works.
