161  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Increase in satoshi or increase in dollar? on: August 06, 2019, 12:47:25 PM
I think it is better to stay in crypto if you are trying to trade.  You could be stuck in dollars when a sudden jump in price happens.

Right now altcoins are at very low prices against bitcoin so now would be a good time to stock up and flip them once the satoshi price increases to grow your bitcoin pot.
162  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If they can print unlimited fiat, can they just not buy up all the bitcoin? on: August 06, 2019, 12:41:45 PM
Yes they easily can and probably have already started doing that.  Since the printed money is only in their hands at first it doesn't really lose any purchasing power.  Most transactions for goods and services are still done in dollars so bitcoiners are forced to cash out if they want to purchase things.
163  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Discord & scammers. Check user IDs and user colors of strangers send you PMs on: August 06, 2019, 12:33:41 PM
Better to just use something like gmail conversation since they can't really imitate something unless you fail to even notice a simple mispelling.  I don't think many people on this forum even use discord anyways, seems like most just use telegram.
164  Economy / Economics / Re: thoughts on companies becoming too powerful? on: August 06, 2019, 12:28:37 PM
The rich are rich because they take 90% of money in their pockets, and we have situation where 10% of people control around 90% world wealth. We can say that 90% or human population serve them and their interests. It is in their interest that we stay poor and dependent on them, so they can control us more easily.
You can always try to do something about it instead of complaining about how the rich elite only get richer and governments only work against you. Complaining doesn't increase your wealth, becoming an entrepreneur does.

An uncle of mine complains about this all the time, and this for years now. No matter how much I try to convince him to get off his lazy ass, he still thinks that the rich elite and governments should make an effort to change things.

We have decades of history proving that the elite will not hand you over free money, and governments will not do anything to change either. It's YOU that needs to change, not the rich elite or governments. This is how the poor stays poor.

You fail to realize that the system is totally broken.  Hard work isn't going to magically lift you out of poverty.  You need solid connections that poor people usually do not have.  Becoming an entrepreneur just means exploiting workers like the rest of capitalists do and then you are contributing to the problem.
165  Economy / Economics / Re: What is behind the past few days of rally? on: August 06, 2019, 12:23:22 PM
Bitcoin often goes up without any significant news.  It is just the nature of the crypto market.  I wouldn't be surprised if bitcoin is over 15k and ethereum is over 500 within the next month or so.  I still think it is a great time o buy because I really doubt bitcoin will go under 10k again.
166  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why Choose Lottery Instead Of Anything Else? on: August 06, 2019, 12:17:23 PM
People like to chase the big jackpots that a lottery provides even though the odds are a lot lower overall compared to blackjack.  Also many lotteries are used to fund government programs like the public education system.
167  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcointalk and reflinks: don't produce refspam, please on: August 05, 2019, 11:48:32 AM
If someone is going to use a service and a poster provides them a link to the website with their ref link I don't see it as a problem.  Someone gets paid a small amount for showing someone to a service.  OF course the newbie account spammers that are just posting ref links with no request is totally different.
168  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 85% of All Bitcoin Have Now Been Mined!!! on: August 05, 2019, 11:45:47 AM
You can't say that for certain, if everyone decides to keep the inflation rate higher then it will happen.  I think Satoshi intended for the set inflation rate to just be temporary until the majority agreed on what would be acceptable in the future.

Also I wonder how many total bitcoins are completely lost.
169  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Martingale revisited on: August 05, 2019, 11:42:35 AM
But for now I am still of the opinion that gambling is a game of fun and not a ground for money. If it was for money, majority of us here should be extremely rich by now but all we get is constant loses and this has pushed us to believing that the house edge only favors the site

I mostly agree with your view

As gambling should be considered not a source of income (apart from professional poker players and their likes) but a form of entertainment and amusement only. But we still can't discard those who play rare but always big time. If they lose after a few bets, they leave. If they win, they take the spoil and instantly leave as well

These dudes are the ones that casinos fear the most as their bankroll is comparable to that of the casino (or even exceeding it), while with just a few bets pure luck can easily overcome the house edge, and if it favors the player, the casino may suffer massive losses. These big-timers may be in for the money

Problem is with the advertisements, they make it look like everyone will be a winner and a lot of stupid people believe that.  If you go in with realistic expectations and a good understand of probability you won't be setting your self up to be mentally traumatized.
170  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 NBA Season on: August 05, 2019, 11:39:09 AM
According to him, he can provide leadership within a team, you thoughts?
IMHO, he's better to be managed by others or go under others umbrella rather than lead a team.

He can't lead a team anymore, he has given a chance to lead NYK but there was no improvement on the team.
He needs to go down from his superstar mentality, I'm sure there's still a lot of teams that will sign him since he can still play and he has accomplish a lot throughout his career, except to become an NBA champion.

He had some good years with the Knicks but the eastern conference was dominated by Lebron during that time.  Melo also led the Nuggets to the Western Conference Finals and they had a close series with the Lakers.  Don't think he gets enough credit for what he has done.
171  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is it fair to give juveniles life without parole sentences? on: August 05, 2019, 11:33:45 AM
It is just an arbitrary number, people know what they are doing and that number isn't an excuse to get out of what you have done.   I think we need to work on our economic system and make it fair for everyone because most crimes happens because of poverty.
172  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 20 Killed in El Paso, TX Mass Shooting on: August 05, 2019, 11:26:14 AM
I think the problem stems from wealth inequality.  When people are abused by corporations and capitalists they become resentful of society and these types of events are bound to happen.  We need to make sure everyone has a good life with all their basic needs met.
173  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Bounties sometimes are unpredictable on: August 05, 2019, 11:19:49 AM
Why do so many people seem to not consider their time valuable?  People say they get some crypto for free but all the time they spend they could of just made more by working a regular job and using a portion of their salary to just buy bitcoin.
174  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Your shitcoin is up for a crack! on: August 01, 2019, 01:11:19 AM

Ok but no one knows what kind of future technology we will have.  It will be something they we can't even imagine.  It is like people in ancient times and you told them about a handheld device that sends pictures. They would think it is magic and couldn't possibly exist.
175  Other / Meta / Re: [POLL] The Official Troll Poll - voting has begun! on: August 01, 2019, 01:09:33 AM
I went with notbatman and bit unlocker.  Batman for the legendary flat earth thread and bit unlocker for his aweswome posts in politics and society.  Unlocker isn't really a troll but he has some very entertaining posts.
176  Other / Politics & Society / Re: So Hal could see the computer was being used as a weapon against us. on: August 01, 2019, 01:05:07 AM
Don't even bother to read youtube or twitter comments.  Nothing but paid trolls posting to push their agenda.

The old internet was better when less people were on it.  Technology is something we should be afraid of instead of thinking it will improve our lives.
177  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: August 01, 2019, 01:02:43 AM
I am going to make a bold prediction and say that one of the six teams that haven't been relegated since 1992 will be booted out of the EPL this season (one of these:Manchester United Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs or Everton).
178  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: YoBit's Fake volume on shitcoins, among others on: August 01, 2019, 12:54:12 AM
zzzzz.. Nothing new, every big exchange has been faking volume and now they all like to create their own coins for easy money.  Binance coin really has no purpose except to make the creator more money.  All these exchanges have on thing on their mind and that is money.
179  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: SEARCHING an Mentor to make my life great again on: August 01, 2019, 12:50:56 AM
Capitalism is all about exploitation, so if you want to get rich it isn't difficult.  But doing it with good intentions is a completely different story.  Labor will never make money as fast as capital and the workers have wealth stolen from them with the value they create.

Don't waste your life away on money either, your time is limited and we all die eventually.  All we have is our memories.
180  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does gambling affect your overall lifestyle? on: July 31, 2019, 12:34:37 PM
I keep my expectations in check and don't overdo it.  I use gambling as more of a social activity and only use a small amount.  Undoubtedly, many people take it too far and end up sleep deprived and broke.  I think some people just have something wired in their brain that makes them become more addicted.
